Lightroom for Mac - Not updating modules

Hello,
I was unaware that last Mac OS X update was blocking Apple Aperture I was happily using and installing instead Photo.
I read about Lightroom as sftw close to Aperture and I dediced to try. I downloaded thre trial and installed. Lightroom is not working because it can't update modules, so i can't add pics to the library etc. I've cancelled sftw, downloaded again and re-installed but without result.
Please, can somebody help me?

We are seeing this issue against our Exchange 2013 server with Outlook 2011 for MAC. Mail will not update unless you manually hit send/receive, or restart the client. 14.4.5 version of Outlook 2011.
PC's, Active Sync devices (iphones, ipads, windows phones, etc) don't have the problem.

Blackberry Desktop Software for Mac not updating 9900

Hi,
please could someone assist me in this.
I have a mac running the latest Blackberry Desktop Software for Mac. And a Bold 9900 on 7.0 bundle 1465.
The Blackberry Desktop Software says new update available 7.0.0.1672. So i proceed to update the blackberry. It says installing and reboots. But it still has the old version, and the Blackberry Desktop Software still says new version available. (7.0.0.1672) So im going in a loop.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

LightRoom for mac not keeping serial number

Anytime a user runs LR for the first time after a reboot it asks for a serial number. this is true for both local administrators, Open Directory Admins, and non-admin users.
I called Adobe, but because it's a volume educational license, it has to go to Tier 2 and they charge for that.

Vk2mh it sounds like the download was not complete or corrupted. Where are you downloading the update from? Have you tried downloading again?

TS3716 iPod classic does not appear in iTunes for Mac since updating to 11.0.

iPod classic does not appear in iTunes for Mac since updating to 11.0. It appears on the desktop and iTunes starts up when the iPod is connected, but it does not appear in a form so that I can manage its contents.

Just had the very same problem. iPod Classic shows up on my desktop but not in iTunes (11.0.1). I tried restarting iPod while connected as suggested elsewhere. Didn't work. What did seem to work however was, while the iPod is connected (and on the desktop) restart iTunes. Once it restarted it was there and synching. I also, before restart, made sure that auto-synching was set up in iTunes preferences (under devices).
Try this. May work for you as well.

You can try with Lightroom 5, though it is not tested & approved with 10.6.8, if that doesnt work, go for lightroom 4.

Skype 6.3 upgrade for Mac not working

[Topic title updated by moderator to be more descriptive. Original topic title was: "Skype upgrade for Mac not working"]
BE WARNED - just because you are being asked to upgrade your Skype, it does not mean it will work on your machine. I am a fairly regular user of Skype and this morning was unable to log-in, being told that I needed to upgrade. I did so to 6.3.0.602 but I was unable to log-in once the software had downloaded. After some research on the forums and finally a text chat with Support, I was told that Skype 6.3.0.602 requires a Mac OSX of 10.9 or above - I have 10.5.8
"So what can I do", I asked the tech support. The answer is nothing (unless I get new OS X software) - there is no Skype software programme that supports my operating system and no timeframe for when it might be available.
Huh? That's right. It's just not available. So for now, users with less than OS X 10.9 will be unable to use Skype when they are instructed to upgrade. It really doesn't make sense. But just so you know....

Please look at the top of the community page, and you will find a box "Search:". Write your problem here "Upgrade not working" and see what crops up. Here you will read that the latest versions of Skype will not work on some of the versions of MacOS, and that PPC requires one version, Leopard another, Snow leopard another, Mountain Lion another. They are indoctrinated with a stamp in their forehead to enforce their congregation of true believers to install the latest with all "security fixes" or death is looming. They are not used to software that is 2 years old.
So, with Mac, we have different operating systems and different sets of libraries - and things may go belly up if you upgrade - a OS feature is done differently, a libary has been placed inside the OS, and is no longer needed - and if you try to use it, you will be trapped.
Install the latest version that works for your Mac, and make sure to freeze this. Update the "info.plist" file and tell Skype that you use their latest should they pry. As long as it works, do not change anything!
And make the change to stop Skype from checking every time you start.

I upgraded to Mac 10.5.8, but neither my 2004 Office for Mac not Acrobat 5.0 are functioning properly. Should I uninstall and reinstall or do I need to upgrade?

I never did it from Windows to Mac.
I assume you need to move everything to Mac PSE12 (or PSE 13) by downloading the 30 day free trial of PSE 12 or 13, and then once everything is working, use File->Upgrade Photoshop Elements Catalog in Lightroom. Your tags and albums will remain intact. I believe the face recognition transfers as well to keywords, but the location in the photo of the face will be gone as Lightroom has no such feature.

If you need to run Appleworks 6 to export some data (for example a database, which cannot be opened by any other program):
a) If your Mac will still boot into Snow Leopard, partition your hard drive (or add an external hard drive) and install Snow Leopard (and the optional Rosetta) into it and use the "dual-boot" method to boot into Snow Leopard and run Appleworks 6; or
b) Install Snow Leopard Server into Parallels and run Appleworks 6 concurrently with Lion, Mt. Lion and Mavericks:

I just purchased Lightroom for Mac. Every time I try to open the application, my computer tells that "an error has occurred; cannot create directory." What does this mean?

Detailed Software Repair Instructions using Pc Companion(Win)or Bridge for MAC. (Update 8/5/2014)

We have an extended guide that should help you repair the system of your phone. This instructions are valid for all Android based units and for some legacy Sony Ericsson models(The list of phones that can be used with the application is displayed in Step 9 of the process). please follow the instructions carefully: Turn the phone off and disconnect it from the computer. 1. Visit this link:http://www.sonymobile.com/us/tools/pc-companion/Click on Download PC companion2.Run the software After the installation the first screen will show you the PC Companion Startup Guide which gives you a brief explanation on the main modules of PC companion (Support Zone, Xperia Transfer, Contact setup and Media Go) Keep clicking next.3.Now you will see the screen with the different modules.Select Support Zone> Click Start. The program will download the module. Then click on start on Phone/Tablet Software update. (Here you can choose to update an accessory, go to step 14 for instructions) Note: At this point if you get an error stating that "unable to install update components" or "server is busy" Please proceed to step 13 . If you not see that error then continue with step 4.
4. The program will show a window saying "could not find phone/Tablet” Do not Connect phone instead select Repair my phone/tablet. This will bring you to a window with a warning that says "data will be lost" (do you want to continue) Select to continue (Data in the phone will be deleted, only data in the SD card will remain. Make sure you have done all proper backups if possible)6. The program will issue a second warning stating that “data saved in the phone /tablet will be overwritten during the update of your phone”. Click on the checkmark box next to the acceptance text and select Next to continue.7. Next the computer will download the necessary files (Prepare stage, this can take several minutes depending on the speed of your connection) and then its done it will show you a list of recommendations for a successful update operation. When you are done reading this section click on the checkmark box and press Continue8. Next you will get a Battery level warning that states that your phone should have at least 80% battery. (If the issue in the phone does not permit the unit from turning on, then charge it connected to the wall charger for at least 2 hours and then comeback to this step) Then click on the checkmark and select Next9. Choose the Phone from the list then click on "next" then you will see a new section telling you how to connect the phone. (don't connect it yet) Again, at this point the phone must be off and disconnected from the PC. 10.. Connect the cable to the PC not to the phone, then while pressing and holding the indicated button (in the steps on screen an specific button will be shown for you to press on the phone) connect the cable to the phone and keep holding the indicated button until the program says "the update of your phone has started..." (in some cases a message of "Installing drivers" will appear before the message of "the update of your phone has started..." is shown.) 11. If you failed to follow the steps correctly the phone will turn on. If this happens disconnect the phone from the cable, turn it off and repeat from step 10). 12. If the phone is connected properly, PC Companion will proceed with the update ( It will tell you to let go of the key) then wait for the update to finish and follow instructions on screen to disconnect the unit. End of process. ----------------------------------------------------------------------If the software fails to install:13. If "unable to install update components" 1. Close Pc companion 2. Here are the basic Steps for Bridge for MAC.Download Bridge for MAC from:http://www.sonymobile.com/gb/tools/bridge-for-mac/The phone should not be connected to the MAC.
The phone should be off.After the Download unzip the file and drag the bridge for MAC icon to the Applications folder. (install then use finder to locate icon)In the Main "No phone connected" window, on the top menu (top application menu) Select "Phone" and scroll down to "Repair phone"
This will open the Phone Software Restore window with the 3 sections for Start, Prepare and Update.
Click on continue bellow. Doing so will popup a window warning you about the loss of your personal info. Click on the checkmark signaling that you understand the data loss situation,
This will take you to the Connection Procedure Screen. Follow the instructions in the screen and click on continue*.
*One key aspect of the last step to keep holding the indicated button before and after you connect the phone to the MAC until the update starts. IF this is not done correctly then the phone won't connect to the MAC
