Lightroom HTML Gallery paths

System = PC, Version = 1.4.1
When uploading an HTML Gallery, the sequence of folders used to hold the images includes a folder called 'bin'. In IIS7, it would be required to create a 'HiddenSegement' section in the site's web.config file in order to allow browsers to view files who's full URL includes that folder name, such as the images.
The problem with allowing this is that IIS7 would then allow all folders like 'bin' to be viewed, which isn't what I'd prefer. Also, having to manually modify web.config might not be straightforward for all users.
Would it be possible to allow the paths used by the HTML Gallery upload to be customized, so that they don't include 'bin'?
Thanks,
Simon

You could edit the gallery. There's a wealth of info in the new SDK on web.

How do I create an Lightroom HTML Gallery and preserve the - in the file name?
The hyphen (-) is more search engine friendly, so I label all my photos using hyphens (-) to separate the keywords in the file name
Here's a sample file name - it's for the "Guess Where Berkeley" flickr site

I created a Lightroom HTML Gallery and posted it to the following link.
    http://www.berkeleyhomes.com/tests/lightroom/lightroom-test-1/
Though it looksl like the HML gallery shows the original file name in the web page, it looks like Adobe Lightroom modified each photo's file name by changing the - (hyphen) to an underscore (_)

InDesign's interactive PDF support is a small subset of what you can do in Acrobat Profesional.
I think you probably want to create a button (or change an existing button) in Acrobat Pro that causes Acrobat to close the document -- that should be analagous to "exitting the CD." I assume your autorun file is opening the PDF in Adobe Reader? You have not included it and are not specific, so it is tough to say.
I believe in Acrobat Javascript you can close the document with this.closeDoc(). You'll probaly need to ask on the Acrobat forums (possiby Acrobat Scripting) for more detail.

  • Lightroom HTML Gallery - interesting tidbit

While browsing through the transformer.xslt for the Lightroom HTML Gallery, I found a template that suggested interaction between Lightroom and the generated web gallery, specifically:
When you display a single image in the web module preview, the filmstrip will automatically highlight the respective image in Lightroom. Click enxt or previous, and the filmstrip will update.
Works really well, and is a nice touch for those using the original HTML gallery. Looking at the code, this will not exactly be easy to reproduce for others (like me) looking to code their own gallery...

  • Lightroom HTML Gallery on Behance

I'd love to be able to upload a Lightroom HTML (style) gallery to Behance. Does anyone know of a way to do so? I'm really hoping an Adobe person sees this and adds it to the list of things to put in future updates.

  • Web: Adjust Lightroom HTML Gallery

    Hi all,
LR's web engine "HTML Gallery" works almost perfect for me. Only two things I'd like to change is size of the thumbnails and remove the navigation buttons on the large picture pages.
Could anyone pass me a hint if this is possible / how it could be done?
    Thanks!!

  • Embedding Lightroom HTML gallery with Dreamweaver

I'm new to Dreamweaver and have used it to build a portfolio website.  I've created HTML image galleries using Lightroom and would like to integrate these galleries into my existing page design.  Lightroom generates an Index file, as well as Context and Resources folders.  I've seen an earlier discussion about using LR to upload the galleries to my host, then edit the HTML to link the gallery pages to my other web pages.  This strikes me as cumbersome for two products made by a single company.
What I'm after is a clear answer about if I can embed these HTML galleries quickly and easily into my existing page design?  My other solution is to use the Airtight SimpleViewer gallery, but since it's using Flash, my galleries won't work on Apple mobile devices.
    I'm using Dreamweaver CS5.5 and Lightroom 3.
Thanks in advance for any help.

You can't edit a flash gallery with Dreamweaver.
To make changes to the LR flash gallery you would require a copy of the original fla file and a copy of Flash to edit it.
The index file you see is the one that loads the flash player to play your gallery. The message is what is seen in a browser that doesn't have flash player installed.
You can make amendments to the gallery itself by changing the xml files, although the changes you can make here can also be made in LR itself so why bother?
You can embed the gallery itself in your own html page. Using insert, media and then finding the gallery.swf file. As long as you then upload everything in the correct locations (including the scrippt files abd the new html file in the same folder structure it will work.
There are other flash galleries that are far easier to  embed available. However in order to make serious changes to flash galleries of any type you will require the original fla file and most designers are not going to give you that! Adobe does give away the fla's for the galleries that ship with PS.

  • Add Facebook Comments to a Lightroom HTML Gallery template

If you prefer displaying your photos on your own website using Lightroom’s web galleries over uploading your photos to Facebook then one of the drawbacks is the lack of commenting. Fortunately, there’s a way to add Facebook Comments to your own website and gallery. See an example here. To implement this solution see the step by step tutorial:
    http://so.ca/?p=265
Does anyone know if Lightroom templates are over-written when upgrading to a new version of Lightroom? It would be annoying to have to repeat these steps with each version upgrade.
    Thanks.

    Hi Jerfrank,
If you are looking outside of SharePoint, I would suggest you to check Facebook SDK to integrate with your site.
Here are few links to start with -

And a bing search for "Facebook developer API" could also help you.

  • Problem with Lightroom-HTML-Gallery

Hi Adobe-Team, I like your gallery in Lightroom 3 but there is one problem! If I write the title to the photos, google can't read it - so it is not possible to find the photos in the internet! Google seems to read the words above the photo. So it thinks the title is "zurück  - Index - weiter" (in German) or in english "back index next". Could you add the possibility to write the title of the photo next to the upper side of the photo? Would be phantastic!! it would be also nice to get the possibility to switch the language of the "back - index - forward" Best wishes, ralph

Please be clear enough...your problem was? I suggest just drop the porn lol...

  • Disappearing Lightroom web gallery photos

I'm using a Mac, Lightroom 3 uploading to a host monster.com server.  the Lightroom HTML gallery displays fine when exported and opened offline but when uploaded to my server, backgrounds and navigation and cells appear fine but all the photos appear to be missing.  the source code appears to have the correct path.  When I've seen this question earlier users suggest that the photos are being put in a bin file but mine look to be in the correct path on the server.  Other users suggest changing code in some Lightroom files perhaps using the SDK but I can't find the files they suggest changing (I think they might have been on pcs instead of macs).  Any help would be appreciated.
Here is a link to the page
    http://www.rocklandbaptist.mnsherwood.com/
I teach photography and was practicing using Lightroom this summer so I could have my students make websites of their photos but this is disappointing and frustrating.  We purchased Lightroom 3 about 2 months before Lightroom 4 came out but I don't think we'll have funding for another upgrade this fall.

Host monster tech support found the problem.  they are the greatest bar none with their tech support.
It appears that the rewrite conditions in your public_html/.htacces file is preventing the images from being displayed on http://www.rocklandbaptist.mnsherwood.com
I renamed the file to .htaccess.old and added the following code.
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://rocklandbaptist.mnsherwood.com/.*$      [NC]
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_REFERER} !^http://www.rocklandbaptist.mnsherwood.com/.*$      [NC]
The images are now viewable.  You will need to add the same code to the .htaccess file for each subdomain that you create, otherwise the images will be block from being displayed.
Guess it wasn't a Lightroom issue

  • Embed Lightroom Web Gallery into Dreamweaver

Hi.  I've created a web gallery (lightroom html gallery) using Lightroom 3 and I am wanting to embed it into an existing website that I am working on in Dreamweaver CS5.  I've tried many things but nothing seems to work.  I've copied the gallery folder into the website folder and uploaded it straight to the site and that doesn't work.  As well as changing the index.html and index_2.html (2nd page of gallery) to matching titles of a link that is meant to open up straight to the gallery and it still doesn't work.  I've been trying for countless hours and can get nothing. Somebody please help on how to embed a lightroom gallery into an existing dreamweaver site so that it fully works.

I'm not sure I completely understand your problem, because linking to a Lightroom gallery is actually very simple.
Design your Lightroom gallery and upload it to your server. Just do it directly from LR. Let's suppose you have uploaded it into [your webroot folder]/galleries/test/.
Don't rename any of the index files.
Check it has actually worked, by visiting http://celestialapple.zxq.net/galleries/test/index.html with your browser.
Create a link to the gallery on your home page. The source code for the link is <a href="/galleries/test/index.html">Other Photoshop gallery</a>
    And that's it already.
    Cheers,
    Michael

  • Add Lightroom 2.0 HTML Gallery to iWeb

When I create a slideshow in Lightroom it produces an HTML Gallery, not a .swf file. Files are created and I do not get an HTML code that I can copy and paste into the iWeb snippet. Where do I upload this folders' contents to MobileMe's iDisk and how do I link to it in iWeb? I'm wanting to create a slideshow that will run in the iWeb page, not have the slideshow open on a page of its own.

Put the folder in the iDisk > Web > Sites folder.
Determine the correct link to the page in the browser as you would with any page :
    http://web.me.com/username/Lightroomfolder/
    Or use your domainname.
Then paste a <iframe> in the HTML Snippet with the URL to your slideshow as the src :
    <iframe src="http://url.to.file.html" frameborder="0" width="500" height="500" scrolling="no" allowTransparency="true"></iframe>

  • Lightroom 2 HTML Gallery: Changing WEBSITE meta name="Keywords" of  template def

Lightroom 2.0 HTML Gallery Engine: Can I change the WEBSITE meta name="Keywords" of the template default?
DEFAULT HTML CODE generated by template:
    meta name="Keywords" content="photography,software,photos,digital darkroom,gallery,image,photographer,adobe,photoshop,lightroom"
    meta name="generator" content="Adobe Photoshop Lightroom" "
    Thanks for any info.

Download the SDK, read up on Web Galleries, find the default_html.lrwebengine, back it up.
Open and edit the index and detail pages, then save them. If you messed it up, replace it with the backup. All at your own risk. I don't encourage messing with the factory files.
If you want a second version, change the title and id to something else and use both of them.

When I see code errors, I stop trying to trouble shoot  because code errors account for 98% of browser rendering problems.  When you clear up your orphaned tags: mismatched <p></p> and <li></li> tags, then I'll take a closer look.
PS. Being able to work with code is essential to using DW and 3rd party plugins.  Without basic coding skills, you're going to be lost most of the time.

  • Bridge CS3 Workspace Adobe Lightroom Web Gallery Creator

A while back I was looking around for an easy way to create sharp looking image galleries with minimal work, and I came across a workspace plug in for Bridge Cs3. If I remember correctly, it was labeled Adobe Lightroom Web Gallery something or another. Anyway, I recently formatted my computer and reinstalled everything, but for the life of me I can find no trace of that handy workspace plug in. Does anyone know where I can find it? It had a bunch of customizable flash galleries as well as a customizable html gallery as well. Any help would be appreciated!

Do you mean AMG( Adobe Media Gallery)? You could download from LAB.

  • How can I protect Images in a Lightroom Web Gallery?

I'm creating photo galleries using the Web tab in Lightroom. It generates the html pages and work nicely in my website, but I need to secure those images to prevent them from being copied or downloaded. In the current versions, one can simply click and drag an image to the desktop or right-click and copy. Is there an option to secure those images when generating the webpages?

There is no option for this in the "simple html" gallery. If you are comfortable doing your own web programming, you can add a javascript function to prevent right-click saving. Unfortunately, this is just a speed bump. If you can see it, you can steal it.
If you went with the flash gallery, the right-click protection is built in. I have never been a fan of flash galleries.
Realistically your easiest defense is to only put small-size images on the web.
