Lightroom is crashing when I try to download the update

When I open Lightroom 5 it is telling me there is an update and to click on download. When I do this Lightroom crashes says it is not responding. How do i get this update to work please? I have tried several times same thing each time. Thanks in anticipation

I'm not sure how lightroom crashes because it will open a browser window to download.

I was a little confused because it was totally different from what the instructions said

so I decided to click the "manual" button and a download page to download a file named "Gp" popped. Seeing that I just clicked cancel then suddenly my computer froze. I tried going to the adobe download page again and it happens all over again. Please Help Me :(

Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with updating iTunes. You may want try downloading the latest iTunes update directly from the Apple site. When you are installing it, be sure you are logged in as an administrator:

What error, if any, is being displayed when you attempt to install Flash Player?
Please post the contents of the /Users/<YourUserID>/Library/Logs/FlashPlayerInstallManager.log for the install attempts that are failing. These will be listed at the end of the file. Each attempt begins and ends with --- log start --- and --- log end ---.

Are you trying to do this over the air, or by the phone. Or are you trying to do this with the computer and iTunes? How do you get the Internet for the computer if using the computer? You cannot use the iPhone for tethering and updating at the same time, it will disconnect. If you are trying over the air and getting an error, try connecting the phone to the computer and iTunes and update that way.

Adobe has changed my password but still when I try to download the update it goes to the old "hint." for the password I don't rememember. Got the email from Adobe REader that my password has been changed but it doessn't seem to work.

An installed version of Adobe Reader does not require a password.
Sometimes, some computer Operating Systems are configured such that to install an application or to install an update to an application an "admin" has to sign in.
That, of course, involves a password.
But that has nothing to do with Adobe Reader download, installer or Reader use.
It is completely a thing of the OS configuration.

Firefox crashes when I try to download a file

I run Firefox Nightly 8.0a1 (2011-07-08) on Arch Linux 64-bit with Gnome 3, and I'm having problem with crashes when I try to download files. This doesn't happen in the stable version of Firefox (5) which I also have installed on my computer.
It's possible to open the download manager as long as there are no entries in the download list. But if I start a download of something - the download manager opens with an entry (the current download) and Firefox disappears. It instantaneously vanishes from both the monitor and the process list.
I have tried to remove the downloads.sqlite file from my profile folder, but it didn't help.
I have also tried to rename my whole profile folder to something else, and then created a new, empty profile folder with the name the first one had. When I then started Firefox, it recreated all the default content to the profile folder, so I ended up with a clean, unmodified installation. But it still crashed when I tried to download files. So it doesn't seem to be a problem with the extensions or similar.
Suggestions?

Downgrade to an older nightly that works for a week or so, then test again to see if the bug's still there. In the mean time, report the bug on Bugzilla if it hasn't already been. There's really nothing you can do about bugs in nightlies.
(A similar sort of bug that triggered 60 seconds after opening, every time, was what got me out of using nightlies as my main browser.)

I've tried everything, unninstal, reinstall, delete all itunes folders and registers, everithing !!!

I'm having a similar problem (see thread below) - my purchased music videos used to play until I tried to move my library from my old PC to my new Mac. The restore kept failing as soon as a video file (.m4v) was encountered. Had to manually import blocks of music and avoid the videos. Now have my music again but iTunes just crashes when I try to play the music vids I bought from iTunes.

Me too - running iTunes 10.5.3 on Windows 7. Will allow me to sign in to iTunes, download app updates and then if I either close iTunes or try to sign out of my iTunes account it all freezes. So frustrating, because my understanding is that iTunes saves the library file when exiting. So, everytime I update apps I lose all the downloads.

I am having the same problem - the install crashes around 40%.
I am using MAC OS 10.10.2 and purchased Acrobat Pro monthly subscription. The error message is:
'Acrobat installer has encountered an unexpected failure. Please try again. If it continues to fail, contact Adobe support.'
I have tried several times but keep getting the same error message. Any ideas?

Fixed the problem!
I tried to redownload itunes
delete plist
use time machine to get an old version of itunes
no luck
I called support
they had me redownload itunes. And before I started itunes they had me drag itunes off the dock, then drag itunes from the applications folder onto the dock and presto no more crashes!
Apparently the Mac will still use the old files unless you drag the icon off of the dock! She said a part of the upgrade must have been corrupted during download the first time

I am from Bella Vista, Buenos Aires, Argentina and I have the following problem:
I have an iPod Touch 2G, I installed the lastestversion of iTunes and every time i connect my device to my pc via usb, iTunes opens and a window apears telling to me that I can update it to IOS 4.0. I clic on Only Download (I want to download the new firmware and update later).
The download starts correctly, but in the middle of the download a error message appears. The window says that a problem occurred with the download, try again later. Error number: 9006 (Unknown).
Questions:
a)- if this error occurs in the middle of the download... Why does not iTunes prompt me an option to continue the current download when I try to do it the next time? (I have to start a new download again when I try to download the firmware again. The firmware size is 300 mb. The error window only shows me an OK button and the transfer is interrupted. When I try to download the firmware again, the download should continue from the part where was interrupted, no start all again. Apple should fix this issue). I have to tell you that I tried several times downloading the firmware and I always got this error window and I really HATE it. Please, gime me a solution for my problem and try to fix the issue that I showed above. (When I'm downloading a firmware version from iTunes and the download is interrupted by a "X" problem or error, when I try to download it again, the download should continue from the part where it was interrupted, no start all again). I will be hoping for a good solution. Thanks and I have to tell you that you manufacture very amazing products. Ipod Touch, one of my favourite Apple's products. If an error occurs with the download and we want to try again, the download MUST continue from the part where was interrupted, no start all again. We have to protest for it. Please, Apple Inc, try to fix it. It's very easy to do. If I am downloading a firmware version from iTunes and an error occurs with the download , you should put a button that reads "Continue the download from the interrupted part", no only a "OK" button that finishes the download and I have to start all again when I want to retry. Solve it, please.

(1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. Are you downloading iTunes form an Apple website or somewhere else? If the answer is somewhere else, try downloading it from Apple. Click on iTunes in the black menu bar above and go from there.
Let us know what happens.
