Lightroom is shown as a trial version

Hi, I have a Photography Plan subscription. I have just reinstalled using the Creative Cloud Desktop app on my iMac, after changing from an old Adobe id to a new one. Photoshop is listed correctly but Lightroom is shown as a 30-day trial. How can I get it to work correctly?

Hi Jeff, I thought I covered that point in my reply to Mylenium. I have no problems with any of the steps in that document. However FYI I also now get into a loop with Photoshop. It shows as available and up to date in the CC desktop app. But when I try to start it, I get prompted to sign in with my Adobe id (no password prompt, just a button to click). It then says "Photoshop CC will now be licensed to martinjconnolly at gmail.com, press Continue"....then the Adobe application manager comes up again with the same message as before "please sign in with your Adobe id".  I even tried going through the "not your adobe id?" route so I could re-enter my id and password, but that made no difference. Something is seriously messed up here.

Could you please forward a solution to this problem.

    Close your iTunes,
    Go to command Prompt -
(Win 7/Vista) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES, right mouse click "Command Prompt", choose "Run as Administrator".
    (Win XP SP2 & above) - START/ALL PROGRAMS/ACCESSORIES/Command Prompt
In the "Command Prompt" screen, type in
    netsh winsock reset
    Hit "ENTER" key
    Restart your computer.
If you do get a prompt after restart windows to remap LSP, just click NO.
Now launch your iTunes and see if it is working now.
If you are still having these type of problems after trying the winsock reset, refer to this article to identify which software in your system is inserting LSP:

  • Lightroom 5 defaulted to my Trial version. Can you please advise on what I did wrong? I can provide the serial number for the purchased subscription.

History - I had a 30 day trial version of Lightroom back in October. One small catalog of 1500 photos were contained in it. When I was prompted to upgrade, I incorrectly selected the option to "choose a different catalog" which prevented me from seeing my recent photos in Lightroom 5. It appears that my version of Lightroom may be a trial version instead of the version for my subscription purchase. Can you please help me with this? I will be glad to provide the serial number as necessary.

Without proper system info and other details nobody can tell you anything. for the time being, try another browser...

  • I paid for CC, but Lightroom won't install. Trial version is useless - an empty screen. I have no serial # - I'm guessing because nothing installed

How do I get rid of the trial version and get the one I paid for?

    Antonia-
I don't have enough information from your post, and I am not sure if you are on mac or pc,  but see if one of these fits your issue:
If you don't see "install" by Lightroom in the application manager, please first try signing out and back in:
    https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/sign-in-out-creative-cloud-desktop-app.html
If creative cloud is asking for a serial number when you start a Creative Cloud (CC) application, see this link: Creative Cloud applications ask for serial number
IF when you open an application that's part your Creative Cloud membership and you see a message stating you're running a trial, see this link:
Creative Cloud applications unexpectedly revert to trial mode | CS6, CCM
If you updated the desktop installer and the screen is blank: try this:
    Rename the opm.db file.
Close the Creative Cloud application if it's running.
    Navigate to the OOBE folder.
    Windows: [System drive]:\Users\[username]\AppData\Local\Adobe\OOBE
    Mac OS: /User/<username>/Library/Application Support/Adobe/OOBE folder
Rename the opm.db file to opm_old.db
    Launch Creative Cloud

  • Cannot install photoshop or lightroom either the real or trial versions

I cannot get the photography package to install. I have tried for days to get it to work. I started with the trial version and then went to the $9.99 per month photography package. The download has seemed to work multiple times but won't install.. I had a virus issue and redid all of the software and Windows on my computer (I had to do it several times due to driver issues) sometimes the trial version did work but I had to redo the computer due to the driver issues
. I had the photography package working before I started this package but it won't work now. I have even turned of all  antivirus programs and that did not work either. I have tried  the install with Windows 8 (which came on the computer} and Windows 8.1 both of which it has worked in the past. What is the  problem?

Nobody can know. Your system info and descriptions are at best generic. Exact details, error message, install logs etc. are required.

  • Just purchased lightroom 4 after using the trial version....

...... why does the product have to be sent to me by post? I mean why can I not just get the serial number when purchasing it which would be much faster, easier and also cheaper....why do I need the product on a disc etc.... I guess I will receive now a disc in some days but I guess I have to wait until I receive it?

Looks like I got two separate emails, a confirmation and then the SN, but they came within moments of each other.  On the confirmation email I saw this:
You can log back into 'My Adobe' in the future to re-download your product or retrieve your serial number. Please refer to the download policy for terms and conditions.
    http://www.adobe.com/go/ols_en_download_policy
I downloaded mine, so you may not have that option, but perhaps it's worth checking it out.
    Edit:
    I just went here:
    http://www.adobe.com/go/ols_ww_login/
My LR purchase was listed, I clicked on it, and it shows me details of the purchase, including the SN.  Again, not sure if it'll work for you, but worth checking.

  • Problem downloading trial version of Lightroom 4

I am trying to download the trial version of Lightroom 4 for Windows (English), but nothing happens when I click on the "Download" button. This is very weird. I am a current user of PSE 10, and I would like to see if I should also get Lightroom 4, because I find that the Organizer in PSE is too slow, and hope that Lightroom would be much better from comments I read on the Internet.

Thanks. It worked with Google Chrome, but was not working with Internet Explorer.

When you click Download, the download should start automatically. It could be that a pop-up/download blocker/anti-virus is preventing the download. As a first step, you could try using a different web browser to download from the following link: http://www.adobe.com/cfusion/tdrc/index.cfm?product=photoshop_lightroo m

  • Can't install trial version--command line parameters

    I'm considering buying Lightroom and have downloaded the trial version, but I can't install it.  I get the following<br />Command Line Parameters:<br /><br />/L language ID<br />/S Hide initialization dialog. For silent mode use: /S/v/qn<br />/V parameters to MSIExec.ese<br />/UA<url to InstMsiA.exe><br />/UW<url to InstMsiW.exe><br />/UM<url to msi package><br /><br />Please help.  I don't know what this means<br /><br />thanks

    Hi Cherie,
    Here's how you do it.
    1. Start the installation from the downloaded file or the CD.
    2. You will have a folder Lightroom 2.0.
    3. In that folder go to the Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2 folder.
    4. Right click on "setup32.exe" and drag it to release it anywhere in the empty space.
    5. You will get 3 options.
    6. Choose the "Create Shortcut here" option.
    7. Once the shortcut is created, right-click on the shortcut and choose properties.
    8. In the target area, which might look some thing like this "C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Desktop\Adobe\Lightroom 2.0\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2\setup32.exe" go to the end of the line and add "/s" without the quotes.
    9. The same line would look <"C:\Documents and Settings\admin\Desktop\Adobe\Lightroom 2.0\Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 2\setup32.exe" /s>
    10. Click on Apply and then on OK.
    11. Double -click on the shortcut and the program will install.
    12. Try it! Thought the steps appear lengthy, they worked on the 3 PCs that I tried on. :)
    Regards,
    Abhijit

  • Lightroom shown as trial version

Hi, I have a CC photography plan subscription. On Sunday I reinstalled all the apps as I have changed the subscription to a different adobe id. Now LR is shown as a 30-day trial version, even though my account definitely shows that I have a current subscription. What do I need to do to fix this?

If Lightroom starts the way it should by clicking on that icon, then my suspicion is that you just need to create a new desktop icon for Lightroom and Photoshop. If that doesn't work, then you will have to get in touch with Adobe. I don't have any telephone numbers. But here is a link where you might be able to get some help:

There are two different LR’s, one with a serial-number licensing and one with a CC-signin license.
You should uninstall the serial-number LR you have installed, then
    Quit the CC Desktop application,
Restart the CC Desktop application—this will rescan what you have installed and not see LR,
LR will now be on the CC Desktiop apps list, so install that.

Hi. I have set up the trial versions of Photoshop CC 2014 and Lightroom 5.6 (ie the Photography plan) on a desktop that I have added a new drive to with Windows 7. Everything works fine BUT it is an old computer and I'm thinking that it may pack up unexpectedly. These things happen. I want to sign up for the Photography plan but I also have a Windows Vista laptop, and that is old too so I may want to put the apps on a new desktop and a new laptop, having already installed on my desktop. That makes three activations. Am I allowed to do this? Cheers. Paul

You cannot have three activations. It's simply not technically possible. If and when the time comes, you simply deactivate/ sign out on one of the old systems and install on the new one. If the system goes belly up, you contact support to reset your account. No need to make it more complicated than that and overthink it.

  • How to activate the trial version of lightroom 3

    Hello,
I am new here and need some help.
I have downloaded the trial version of lightroom 3 in my home windows computer and like it very much. I have then proceeded to purchase a box copy which will only arrive after two weeks. However i do not plan to install it on my home computer but my new imac computer at my office where i will do all my photo editing.
My problem is i cannot wait for two weeks for the product to arrive. Can i download another trial version for my new imac in my office and when the box product comes can i just use the serial number and activate the trial version or do i have to uninstall the trial version and reinstall again. According to my seller she says that i cant do this because i need to reinstall the box product again which sounds weird to me.
My other question is the earlier trial version that i installed in my home computer, i dont plan to use it anymore, so can i just ignore it?
    Thanks in advance.
    Lim

Importing photos puts information for each one into the LR catalog, which is just a database that LR knows how to read and write.  Reopening the catalog with a new install of LR would tell LR where each of those photos is, and what adjustments you'd made.  You don't have to reimport as long as you reopen the same catalog file with the new install.  You could try this on Windows:  uninstall-reinstall-reopen, and see how it works to get comfortable with it.   You only have to reimport if you lose your catalog, and have to start a new one.  If you write the metadata to files, either automatically via a preference, or manually via the Metadata menu item and grid mode, then you can even have your adjustments intact if you have to reimport, but you'll lose your history and other things that are only in the catalog and not in the XMP sidecar files.  These sidecar files is probably the only way to transfer edits from the PC version to the Mac version of LR which you probably hadn't considered.  At least I don't think you can copy the LR catalog file from a PC and open it on a Mac.
If the LR trial expires before you have a serial number then you can't use it, but once you do enter in the serial number, you can pick up where you left off.
Lightroom isn't activated like Photoshop where there is a Adobe-server record of each computer and serial number.  LR is just either an unregistered-trial, an expired-trial or registered.  LR is smart enough to understand if you've installed it on the computer, before, so you can't extend a trial by uninstalling and re-installing w/o reformatting your HD and reinstalling the OS, or at least I think that is enough.

  • Troubleshooting raw files on trial version of Lightroom 4

Just downloaded a trial version of Lightroom 4. Am proficient in PS6 but have never used Lightroom. I decided to do a practice run through Lightroom using a folder from a recent shoot..some jpegs are finished and named, some are left alone and I have all the raw files in this folder and expected the entire file of pics to "show" in Lightroom. Only the named finished pics are showing the image and only the raw files are named but "unavailable" to be seen, and any unworked jpegs are not showing at all. As I say I was just doing a practice run on putting Lightroom 4 through its paces so I could familiarize myself with its use. These are files from a Canon 5D Mark III. Help me troubleshoot this please.
    Sarahle 547

Although I'm not entirely certain from your problem description, am I right in guessing that these issues are appearing on the Import Screen when you are initially trying to import that folder? If so, "named finished pics are showing the image" I interpret to mean that for jpegs that you have RE-named from original (every file has a name!) you see the thumbnails in the centre panel of the Import screen, which is what you expect.
Original Raw files, however, do not show the image preview....so what does show, any message at all? For 5DIII raw files you need to be running LR4.1 or later, can you confirm that's what you are running?
Finally, the jpegs which you haven't re-named, and are not showing, I'm assuming these are part of Raw+Jpeg 'pairs' SOOC, is that correct? If so, go to the Preferences menu in Lightroom and check that in the Import Options section of the General Tab you have checked the option to "Treat JPEG files next to raw files as separate photos". If it is UNchecked, Lightroom will not show you the Jpeg half of such 'pairs', it will simply make a reference to the Jpeg as a "sidecar" file to the Raw, and the Jpeg cannot be separately processed. Check the option, however, and you do get separate files...
