Lightroom presets for ACR

Hi - I do not have LR but have ACR (CS5) and I want to use the presets that come with LR.  If I had lightroom I could just save the image and open it in ACR and save the preset - however is there somewhere one can purchase these same presets for ACR if one does not have LR?
Thanks

I am not aware of any such system available.

  • Using Presets for Printing Panoramas

I have created a generic preset for printing panoramas on an Epson 4900 connected to a Mac with OS 10.8.4. Using the Epson printer driver's Page Setup via Lightroom 5, I reset the length of the panorama for each print and then update the Lightroom preset. Everything else in the preset is correct for my prints (paper, profiles, etc.).
I have, however, periodically had the problem that even after resetting the print length in the driver and updating the generic panorama preset, that the print is the wrong length (either too long or too short) even though all indications are that everything is set correctly (see below). This can occur even if I shutdown and restart Lightroom (I have also had this problem in LR4).
I would like to known how to correctly set up a panorama so paper is not wasted due to an incorrect length.
The following items appear to be set correctly:
    (1) Printer Driver Page Setup paper size
    (2) The Lightroom Preset for the generic panorama (Both the print size and paper size. I looked at the text of the preset settings via TextEdit) I note that there is binary information at the bottom of the Lightroom preset. Is that being correctly updated?
    (3) The print display in Lightroom (the image correctly fills the print template which is of the correct size)
    (4) The print cell size in Lightroom is the size I have set in the printer driver
The different sized panorams were printed on different days and the printer was turned off between those days. Cut sheet prints were also printed in between the panorams.
One panorama was 8 feet long but it was truncated at 39 inches twice before it printed correctly (after I restarted Lightroom but not the printer). The other was correctly printed 58 inches long but on 8 feet of paper (which was blank after the image).
I find it hard to believe the printer is remembering an old size (even after being powered off) but if Lightroom is not sending new information, I suppose that is possible.

    Hi Venu,
Don't know about best-practice, but you can do this by using the file adapter, using the "Run Operating System Command" to execute a print command on the file.
The file can be formatted in a mapping program.

  • Presets for workflow

Hi, got deleted from Scott Kelby's site because I posted this? Got to wonder. Anyway, do any of you understand what I'm trying to say?
Lightroom presets for workflow. A basic starting point. First you will need your monitor calibrated. Lightroom 2. Photoshop CS3 or newer.
After working with Lightroom for about two weeks now. I found that there is a learning curve to working with develop settings and trying to find the best image. I took this up, because I was getting kind of flat looking results with lightroom only. Figured I needed a good starting base to work from.
Since I already had CS3, I took the raw file from lightroom and edited it to CS3 threw edit export. Then using curves in CS3, I used Scott Kelby's Method of working darks, mid-tones and highlights. From there I made any final tweaks opening up curves again.
Next saved the image and went back to lightroom 2. where it showed up as a PSD file. Next, I made a virtual copy of the (raw file) original and tried to match the same exposure, colour, contrast, etc. of the psd using lightroom. Making these adjustments in the develop module, mostly using Basic and Tone curves. After getting as close as possible to the settings I had made in curves with CS3 (psd file), I used the virtual copied clone file in lightroom to make a preset.
I called this preset "CS3 snap" and use it as my base starting point in lightroom. Works pretty good and I make tweaks from there when working with a new image. I think there is room for other presets in areas like hard backlight and Black N White.
Would like to know how other lightroom users are getting consistant results. Improving processes, techniques. Those of you who leave their email, I'll send you the preset free. I would send my blog link, but am afraid I might get deleted as spam. Would like to know how it works for others. Jon L

Honestly, does anyone here understand what I'm trying to say?
First, export a raw or dng file to CS3
Then make a good image in CS3-the best you can.
Next save it in PSD format, by just clicking the save button. This will take the changes back to lightroom.
Then, make another virtual copy of the original raw file.
Go and try and get the image to match, by using lightrooms setting sliders.
Once you have an a close match, save as a preset. One for standard images, and one for
    backlight images.
This should make every image easier to fine tune. You will have to do this for every camera you own. Jon

  • Converting ACR preset to Lightroom preset

Is there a quick and easy way to convert an ACR preset to a preset or develop template for Lightroom?

Make your adjustments in ACR, save but don't open. Then open the file in Lightroom and the settings will be preserved (including Point Curve adjustments). Then save as a Preset in Lightroom.

Hi I bought the plugin "presets for lightroom", and I can't find a file or a folder in my "download-folder" for installing after with lightroom. How may I download the plugin?

Thank you. No I was expecting to have some kind of reply to my inquiry. Maybe its in the 8 - 10 day process, but I would think there would have been some kind of notification.
I'll give that I try though. Pretty frustrated experience, so I especially appreciate your help.

  • Frame presets for lightroom

    hi!
i have a couple of photos i want to print in square format. somehow the format seems to g obetter with frames.
does anyone of you know if there are frame presets for lightroom available?
i am looking for polaroid frames, negative frames etc. all this retro stuff.
    help ver muc appreachiated.
    thanks
    jens

    thanks for the answer.
    didnt think of hat.
so i just would need to get some high res frame images and convert them to .png with a transparent middle.
i can understand that lightroom doesnt support this as it is not a professional feature but it still would be nice.
i want to print lots of square format polaroid photos but printing just square format without any frame doesnt really do the trick.
thanks for your help. it woud have been nice to have function within to be able to vary frame size but i guess i should be happy that there is a way without leaving lightroom.
it is still in the morning and i am not 100% getting it though. would the framesize be affected by the resolution of the image or would it scale relatively always having the same size but varying in resolution and being interpolated?
    thanks

  • What are some of your favorite presets for lightroom?  Especially black & white?

What are some of your favorite presets for lightroom?  I havent found a b&w that I like yet, i guess its personal preference.  Any  suggestions would be great

    A couple of points
    - What are your criteria for liking a b&w preset?
    - No b&w preset suits every image
Also, have you tried Silver Efex Pro?

  • Presets for Lightroom datei zxp entpacken

    Hi,
At this time Lightroom does not support Exchange.  We are working with the Lightroom team to enable support for Exchange in Lightroom, but that this time there is no ETA.

  • Is there a way to create an RGB curve preset in ACR that WON'T affect separate R G B curve settings?

I'm currently try to create an RGB curve that produces a fade to the picture.   Outside of this I would like to save it as a preset for just the MAIN RGB curve because I have images that have custom separate R G B curve settings.   I can't seem to do this AT ALL.   I've viewed the XMP data in text editor and the only adjustments that are there are for the main tone curve yet it STILL ends up flatten my separate R G B curve adjustments.
This doesn't seem to be an issue in Lightroom yet I can't get it to work in ACR.  BTW I'm using PS CC 2014 with ACR 8.6.  Any help would be MUCH appreciated.    Is there some code I could input into the XMP text so that it would NOT do this?

Yes... this is possible in Lr... but doesn't seem possible in ACR for some strange reason.

  • Camera Raw brightness and contrast preset for art capture?

I'm capturing oil paintings for reproduction with a D3x tethered to Lightroom 3.  I'm converting though in camera raw.  My camera profile is created using Color Checker Passport software/target which uses a DNG file.  Given that, the profile is build without brightness or contrast adjustments.  My question is, for accurate color, tone and exposure capture should the default ACR presets for brightness and contrast be reset to 0?
    Thanks!

Or use the Zero'd setting on import to get no initial settings. However, I thing you'll find doing your own is better.

  • Presets for chromatic aberration correction?

I've been wondering about this one for a while - is this actually possible?
I believe that it hinges on the following - I know c.a. varies based on focal length, so I'd have to create a preset for each possible focal length from my zoom as I happen to use them.
But, does it also vary within a focal length by the focus distance?  In which case, a preset is clearly not possible.
    Thanks for any help.
    Selby

I'd love to see geometric distortion, vignetting and chromatic aberration correction based on lens/camera combination built into Lightroom.  I happen to be a Canon owner and though this functionality is available in Canon's Digital Photo Professional software, using it does mean a trip through Yet Another Program.  Having everything integrated in lightroom makes life a lot easier (just think of Lightroom's excellent integration of ACR functionality).
BTW: there is an open thread called "Auto Chromatic Aberration Correction" in the "Lightroom Feature Requests" forum.  You might consider posting your request there.

  • Migrating presets to ACR 7.0

Hi - I have migrated all my presets from ACR 6.0 to ACR 7.0.  However they do not look the same anymore - I guess since the sliders have changed in ACR 7.0 the interpretations are different, so I have to stick with the 2010 process for them to remain the same.   I downloaded most of them when they were for the 2010 process.   Does anyone know of presets available for download that are designed for ACR 7.0 with the 2012 process?  Thanks
