Lightroom sharpening values. Which do you commonly use?

I'm interested because I've been looking back at a lot of the Raw files i have processed via Lightroom, and i have a nagging feeling that i have been over sharpening.
Obviously, set values effect Raws from different cameras differently, and also every picture will need different amount of sharpening to the next one too. I'm aware of that, but everybody must have a sharpening starting point that they use that by experience they know will be pretty close to what they will end up using.
I'd just be interested to know the amounts others use so i can compare whether i have been applying a bit too much sharpening or not.
My images are mostly of my child. They are rarely close up and often contain the scene she is in, in the background. So they are neither landscape nor portrait scenes, but probably classed as general.
The values i typically start with (and if i'm honest, often stick quite near too) are: Amount:55, Radius 1.0, Detail 40, Masking 20. Do they seem reasonable?

Based on other people's settings I've seen posted over the years, I've gathered that my settings are on the low side - I guess I prefer softness to (what I perceive to be) over-sharpening.

Custom Controller means developer can create multiple controller denpeing up work.
By using component controller we cant create multipule contrllers. when we create the DC that time it will be created automatically.

Re. apps - why not have a red ring around all apps connecting to the internet - so you can see which apps you can use off line ??

I was travelling in europe using both by iphone and my ipad.
My kids was using both, not knowing that they was using the internet (3G) for some games.
It would be great if you could see on the apps whether they connect to the internet or not - today you can only guess !

Fetching data which are not common

Hi Gurus,
I got an strange requirement it is to fetch data from 2 internal table from the same field name but the values should not be same.can any one tell me some logic for this? eg: fetch matnr from mara and mard into an internal table but the final result in the internal table should be values which are not common in both the tables.

how can mara and mard will differe in entries. if there is a entry in MARD there should be an entry in MARA since it is master table. so in this case you can do some thing like this.
first get the data from both the tables..
loop at it_mara.
read table it_mard.
if sy-subrc ne 0.

"append the matnr to another table

may be you have taken a wrong example to describe.

[Solved] How to list which DNS I am using?

Edit, solution to find which DNS you are using. Install:
sudo pacman -S dnsutils
To get the "dig" command. Then use it:
dig http://www.google.ca
And at the bottom of the output you will see
SERVER:
Which is immediately followed by the DNS you are using.

I'm trying to use Google DNS which are 8.8.8.8, and 8.8.4.4. I have a pure systemd installation and have the dhcpcd service unit active:

With the only changes being "nooption domain_name_servers" and "nohook resolv.conf".
Then in my /etc/resolv.conf I have the nameservers:

/etc/resolv.conf has had "chattr +i" done to it to make it immutable from changes.
I think I have it all set-up correctly, as in it all works, but I do not know of an explicit command to tell me exactly which DNS I am using.

I switched my nameservers over to OpenDNS: http://www.opendns.com/
Because they have a test page: http://www.opendns.com/welcome/
And I got a successful result. So, to change that all I modified were the nameserver numbers in "/etc/resolv.conf". So, I assume that I configured "/etc/dhcpcd.conf" correctly. With the OpenDNS nameservers those now come up as prepopulated in namebench too. Thanks again, solved.

Bridge vs Lightroom - Which do you use?

I just subscribed to Creative Cloud am am learning how to use both Bridge and Lightroom. I've been using Apple's Aperture program to organize images, but I want to see how Lightroom stacks up and perhaps switch.
I have so many things to figure out, it's going to take a while. But one question I'd like to as on this forum is whether you, as a web designer, use Bridge or Lightroom to organize your images.
I'm currently using Aperture to organize sort of a base library of images that haven't been processed for a website. If I select one of these images (from Aperture or Lightroom), open it in Photoshop and save it for the web - as Animal.jpg, for example - then I figured I'd use Bridge to organize Animal.jpg.
But someone on the Lightroom forum told me that would be confusing; I should use one program or the other.
So I just wondered which program you use. I haven't yet figured out exactly how they overlap and what the pros and cons of each program are.

How to Get Resource value which are referred in code behind file using IResourceProvider

Hi Everyone,
Currently I'm working on moving the Resource file from "App_GlobalResources" to Database by using IResourceProvider. I created a CustomResourceProvider project using ResourceProviderFactory and able to get the resource values from DB which
are used in aspx page.
But i'm not able to get the values which are referring from code behind file.
Ex: Label1.Text = Resources.Common.Car; // This is still coming from resx file.
Can any one please let me know how to get the value from DB instead of resx file which are referred in cs file.
Appreciate your help.
The below code uses the ResourceProviderFactory which calls this method and gets it from DB. Please let me know if you need any more info.

If you create a metadatatype with a single metdata block, and you reference that in your vm/cm cell attribute using a *one* based index, Excel seems to see the link and it honors it when saving the spreadsheet.
So, I ended up with something like:

Function which returns multiple values that can then be used in an SQL Sele

I'd like to create a function which returns multiple values that can then be used in an SQL Select statement's IN( ) clause
Currently, the select statement is like (well, this is a very simplified version):
select application, clientid
from tbl_apps, tbl_status
where tbl_apps.statusid = tbl_status.statusid
and tbl_status.approved > 0;
I'd like to pull the checking of the tbl_status into a PL/SQL function so my select would look something like :
select application, clientid
from tbl_apps
where tbl_apps.statusid in (myfunction);
So my function would be running this sql:
select statusid from tbl_status where approved > 0;
... will return values 1, 5, 15, 32 (and more)
... but I haven't been able to figure out how to return the results so they can be used in SQL.

Let me clarify a finer point. The APEX_ITEM API provides for value , which can come from a table.
You need to add APEX_ITEM to your columns selected from the table as well.
Once you have done that then the p_idx value , the first numeric, in the APEX_ITEM, is accessing in DOM as well as PL/SQL.
In DOM, for JavaScritps, the p_idx 1 becomes f01, 2 becomes f02 ,etc.
In PLSQL the same are APEX_APPLICATION.G_F01, APEX_APPLICATION.G_F02, etc.
Hope that explains what you need to do.

According to your description, you want to build relationship between two fact tables without common dimension. Right?
In Analysis Services, to build relationship between two fact tables, at least you need to have "common" column in both tables which can link these two tables. If so, we can create a fact dimension based on one fact table, then build the relationship

In Adobe Acrobat 9 (Wndows 7) which I have been using for a long time now it says I cannot use it withoutv repairing. It instructs me to uninstall & reinstall...

I have not run into this yet with my AA9 and Win7, but have been seeing posts about it. I would try a repair before I would do an uninstall and reinstall. You might also turn off javascript for a bit in case there has been some javascript that has caused problems (ok, making wild guesses). If you do decide to uninstall, be sure to deactivate first, uninstall, run http://labs.adobe.com/downloads/acrobatcleaner.html, and remove any left over parts of the Acrobat folder. Then proceed to the reinstall and updates.
There is a question about whether being able to use it is correct, or you are just getting some message that is a spam that somehow got into your system (again, a possible javascript issue). Besides turning off javascript, you could also try isolating the javascripts to moving them to a temporary directory and seeing if one is causing the problem.
