Lightroom Standalone Student Edition?

Hello All,
I am considering purchasing Lightroom 5 Standalone, however I cannot find where to buy the student edition.
I am in Australia so it is not possible to buy it off Amazon.
Also, where did Adobe Live Chat go?
I would have asked this question there if I could find it.

    I have downloaded Lightroom 4 student edition today and last year I downloaded Photoshop student edition.  I am thinking of moving from a Windows computer to a Mac computer and would like to know how I move these programs to the new computer?  Is this possible or do I have to purchase again?  Do I have to do this whilst I am still a student?  Can I upgrade my Photoshop (I don't have the latest), do I need to purchase again or can I upgrade.

    If you took the time to register Lightroom with Adobe then you can log into your Adobe account and get your serial number from there. If you still have the old computer with Lightroom installed on it the serial number can be retrieved from C:\ProgramData\Adobe\Lightroom. Open the lrreg file using Notepad and you can read the number. Note that the ProgramData folder is a hidden folder. It will be necessary for you to change so that your system browser will show hidden folders. If you are on a Mac the path is /Library/Application Support/Adobe/Lightroom.

    I just bought Lightroom 4 student edition and have it installed on my home computer. However, I am buying a new computer this year and was wondering if the application will allow me to uninstall on my home computer and reinstall on my new one?

    One other clarification, the "Student Edition" is exactly the same software install package as the "Regular Edition" you have just been able to obtain a special price for your License Key.
    From here on you can just update and upgrade just like everyone else.

    I am university student working on my Graduate degree. I also am a photographer and am looking at purchasing Lightroom 5. I am curious to whether there are any differences between the Full version and the Student version (other than price). If I were to purchase the Student addition will I be limited to how long I will be able to use it? In other words, will the Student edition expire after a certain period of time? Also, is the Student edition eligible for upgrades?

  • Why can't I buy Lightroom 5 Student Edition in Thailand?

    All the Adobe sellers say there is no Student Edition in Thailand and I should go for Creative Cloud..
    But I'm not interested in it.. I only want Lightroom 5..

    Yes. The student edition is the exact same program, just different licensing and pricing. And having purchased the student edition qualifies you to purchase any subsequent upgrade.

    I have to agree with brat3738699  ... very disappointed to not have a student/teacher version of LR6.  I've owned PS products for many years. But this is it for me. Some rely on educational discounts to manage. The contracted product I would have possibly considered is the photography cc plan, however, even though the website states there is a student plan, the price is the same. So, what's the point?But beyond that, very disappointing to be taking away so many options for everyone and essentially forcing these subscriptions on us with so many limitations if you ever need/want to cancel.Why not let us keep the latest fully operational version when/if we cancel? If so, I'd sign up today. But there's no way I'm getting stuck in CC and then have wasted all that money for however many years and not even exit CC with one fully functional copy of the software.

    I bought an Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 5 Student and Teacher Edition from the campus. It only comes with the product code on the card without the installation CD.
    Because the software downloaded from the official website don't accept the serial number registered for the student version, I am wondering where could I download the older version that accept the student serial number.

    I just purchased the student edition of Lightroom! I am very excited to use it and start creating beautifully edited photos but I'm a little unsure about a few things. It says I have to prove my eligibility to use the student edition which won't be an issue but what is the quickest and easiest way to submit this proof? Also I am concerned that the student edition will be temporary and I will have bought this program only to have it expire at the end of 4 years like some other programs that are student versions. Is the student edition of Lightroom a permanent program that I will have for life or will it deactivate after I graduate?

    When I purchased my academic version of Lightroom, it was a package set. Inside was a yellow card with the instructions on how to verify that I qualified for the academic discount. I submitted my academic e-mail address and other info as requested on that yellow card. Within 5 min. I received my serial number. Very straightforward. I had no problems whatsoever.
    There is only one version of the Lightroom program itself. The only difference is in the licensing and pricing. If you qualify for the academic discount, by all means use it. You are purchasing the same Lightroom program that anyone else does. It doesn't expire, there are no missing features, and it can be upgraded when new major versions are released. Those upgrades will cost the same as they cost for any other person, regardless of how they purchased Lightroom.
    You can confidently move ahead with obtaining your serial number. The only thing you are doing differently is paying a lower initial purchase price because of your academic status.
