Lightroom still not fully usable, because of one simple thing...

Yes the Topic states it already, I really like Lightroom, but right now it is a pine in the ***. Why ? Because why is Lightroom still limited to so small images ? I mean the limitation of 10.000px per image. PLZ Adobe fix this problem. For people like myself it really is complicated to work around that limitation. Right now I have to mage my raw files in Lightroom and my finished Tiffs in Bridge, which really is not good. ( Searching for an image you always have to go back to each program to look for it.) 50% of my work are larger Panoramas, and so I easily have px dimensions of 10.000 up to 200.000px. I'm sure that Lightroom would be able to wok with these images, but it doesn't work because you can't import them.
So plz remove that limitation, allow to use larger images in Lightroom. Through that I could switch mainly to Lightroom, and it would be nearly perfect.

This is at the crux of the issue. If LR were strictly designed as a lightweight product to manage and process RAW camera files -- it would be viewed in a completely different light ... pun intended! :)
However LR has ALSO been designed and enabled to manage and process some JPEG, DNG, TIFF, and PSD files. Of course that opened up Pandora's box to a wide range of intentions. It's a bit shortsighted to underestimate users when it comes to how they might find new ways to use a product. It's also a bit disingenous to dissuade them from wanting to apply the full benefit toward all their other Adobe investments.
A lot of smart and resourceful people are bound to ask why the arbitrary and discrimanatory limits to LR? We're all part of the same Adobe family and it's such a suite world -- well isn't it?
Large >10K pixel width composites, CMYK color spaces, EPS, Ai, .indd, and PDFs are party to the same pool of resources as JPEG, DNG, TIF, and PSD files -- and of course the market is going to ask that all the dots be connected.
If the development team for LR is going to be cowed into being conservative about it's possibilities, they might consider passing the torch to the next group of renegades so they can make a real heavy duty enterprise version and call it LR 2.0 ... :-)

Flash has been used for more than just displaying videos. The Vote choice your daughter found is one of those flash type sites that will not display on iOS devices. There are now over 100 million iPads, and who knows how many more iPhones out there. Developers who want their content to display on all these devices will have to move away from the old Flash technology.
There were some version of Flash that ran on other brands of tablets. But Adobe has stopped all development of Flash for all mobile devices. As time goes on and mobile operating systems evolve the no Apple devices will lose their ability to run Flash too. Web developers need to move on to cleaner, more efficient types of programming.

Nothing has been converted. You first need to convince yourself of this.
Start Adobe Reader (or Adobe Acrobat, if you have it). Use Open from the File menu. Pick one of your PDF files. Does it open OK? If not, what happens?

HTML5 Courses still not fully compatible on iPad or iPhone

Hi,
I've created several courses in Captivate 7, and using the HTML5 tracker, I've made sure all the elements in the courses are HTML5 supported. After publishing the courses and putting them in the LMS, I've tried using them on my iPhone and iPad, and I keep getting a warning message (all the courses work fine on my Mac). The message says:
"This course is not fully compatible with your current device. You may encounter problems with some lessons."
I can open the courses fine, and can navigate through them, but I'm not sure what parts are not compatible. I found one video that's not working, and it seems that the quiz questions aren't working. Otherwise, they seem to be functioning fine.
Any ideas or insight would be appreciated!

Can you tell me what the "ini" file is? The warning seems legitimate because the quiz questions aren't working on the iPad or the iPhone. So it seems like more than an automatic error message.

Please please please will someone find a way to tell itunes to put some sort of 'undo' button on their notes app!? if they just did that one simple thing, people wouldnt be so angry or sad about deleting something. they can just press undo to get it back!

If iTunes could add this to an update then I (and surely many others) would be extremely happy that it would be easier to get back your accidently deleted notes right then and there so you wouldnt have to stress about the fact that you have to delete everything off of your ipod and restore the whole thing just to get your notes back (though most of the time, if you're willing to do this, then the notes are very important and you may need them). I have accidently deleted my important notes twice and it takes a long time to get them back and even then, you dont get them all back, you just get back what you synced to your computer last. there is a good chance that the way you accidently deleted your notes is while you were working on them and how would you get all of that back if it was completely new? you can't. you just have to redo absolutely everything you just did, if you can even remember all of it. i know i cant remember half the stuff i have on my important notes because all of the things i have on there are specifically there TO remind me of things. im sure you can see how this would make the itunes world a much easier place to navigate in and you wouldnt have to go to places like this one and try to find out how to get only half the notes you might really need.

You can only set the duration of a slide to less than 5 seconds, if you are using a theme, were the transitions between slides can be disabled or controlled - so you would be restricted to the "Classic" theme or the "Ken Burns" theme. All other themes need at least two seconds for the transitions and three seconds to actually show the photo.
You can set the Ken Burns Theme to a very short time for the transitions and to add the "Antique" photo effect to selected slides, like this:

Why is my 8 gigs of ram not fully usable on a Windows 7 64-bit system with an HP G42?

The title contains most of the details, but to re-explain briefly, I recently installed two 4 gig sticks of ram in my HP G42-415DX. The full 8 gigs shows as installed, but only 3.74 gigs is showing as usable. I have verified that I have a Windows 7 64-bit system (Home Premium to be exact), and I have recently updated drivers (at least I'm sure I've updated all the drivers, but it is possible for one or two utility type drivers not being installed) to try to solve the problem, to no avail.
If there's anything more I can provide, let me know.
EDIT: And while I'm thinking of it, they are 8500's.

See if this works...
Run msconfig.
In the System Configuration screen, Boot tab, Advanced Options, if there is a check mark in the box next to Maximum memory. Remove that checkmark and save your changes.
Reboot and hopefully Windows recognises all the Ram ( minus the reserved ) after restarting.
Please give that a try, and post back and let us know if that frees up some system memory for you.

I was hoping some tech wiz would have found an answer for you. The app below vibrates and flashes. Is that the kind of thing you're looking for? I'm not sure, because I am thinking you want your Mom's phone to somehow connect with ipad.

I went the the deregistration process. This improved the annoyance but is still not fully resolved. I still am not getting texts in certain group message settings. The problem seems to be in group texts where everyone else is using imessage except me.

This can be accomplished by deactivating iMessage.
To deregister your phone number, tap Settings > Messages and turn iMessage off.
If you can't deactivate iMessage after you perform the steps above or you can't access the iPhone, please contact Apple Support.

I have some 4 episodes of a TV series, with some 16 (?) still not fully downloaded. iTunes used to restart the download each day but has ceased trying to download the rest of the series. How do I re-start this download please? Thanks. Tim

I spent 2 days with Seth Resnick trying to correct this and we re created my catalog. It was ok, until I imported new images and same problem. Now I have a new problem, when I bring image to PS it saves it but does not bring back to LR. Am I the only one out there who has this problem?

That is the way it works. It designed to do that.
In addition to everything else you have to this other person's computer you would have to move your complete iTunes library over also. Only then will it recognize youriTouch.

But once again, I do not want to lose my other texts, app progress, and photos. I could sync the photos but i would still lose the app progress and texts. I would only restore if it was the only option left, but the other space, as already stated, isnt the main concern. The main concern is those 'deleted' texts. If they go, then a good size chunk of the other space goes. I know you CAN delete texts for good. It worked fine before. All i want to know is why its not working for me now, and how to fix it.
I also know that when you delete texts on your iphone, they get marked for deletion, however they stay on your device (thats why they show up when you search for them.) then when you sync your device with itunes, the texts marked for deletion should disappear. When i synced they didnt disappear. Thats what i need an explanation/solution for. Why the texts marked for deletion didnt get fully deleted after the sync.
