Lightroom trial without Creative Cloud app

Hi all,
I'm considering Lightroom and I'd like to download the trial version. My machine is getting a bit old (2011 MacBook Pro), so a "try before you buy" seems like a good idea.
However, I don't really feel like installing the Creative Cloud app just for the trial as I'm only interested in the standalone version of Lightroom.
Does anyone know where I can download a trial version of Lightroom?
Thanks in advance!
Kind regards,
Andra

Thanks, but unfortunately clicking on the "Photoshop Lightroom 6" link on the page you recommended leads me to the product page for Lightroom 6 (http://www.adobe.com/nl/products/photoshop-lightroom.html). Clicking "Download" on that page downloads the installer for the Creative Cloud App, which is what I'm trying to avoid.

  • Lightroom not in creative cloud app

i can't download lightroom because it doesn't show up in my creative cloud app.  i have os x 10.8.5

you must have a 64 bit os.  if you do, lightroom will appear between kuler and muse.

  • To update ...please quit Lightroom, launch the Creative Cloud app, and click the "Install" button next to Lightroom CC (2015).

    Great.
Lightroom CC does not show up in my Creative Cloud App.
Lightroom 5 shows up. It says it's up to date. It is not.

    Lincoln,
Just to be sure, have you verified that your system meets the requirements for LR6 CC 2015? Apps won't show up if your system does not meet certain requirements needed to run them.

  • Why don't I see Lightroom in my Creative Cloud apps area?

I don't see Lightroom available for download in my Creative Cloud apps area... and from the web side when I click download it tries to open my Creative Cloud utility and then does nothing. What should I do?

Try signing out of the Cloud app then signing back in again.

  • How to transfer my Lightroom Trial to Creative Cloud?

I know that I cannot transfer the actual program but it says that Lightroom is up to date on my desktop app. Will I have to completely uninstall Lightroom free trial in order to download the CC version? If so, how do I go about saving all my edited work and transferring the smart collections? Is that even possible?

CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when they are not

  • Upgrading from Lightroom Trial to Creative Cloud

I've searched in the forums but didn't find the answer: I had an expired trial version of Lightroom on my computer. I have a creative cloud account and want to use LR now using that.  In my CC install manager I can see that LR5 is updated, but when I try to open the program it asks me a serial number. Is there a solution or should I uninstall LR, download and reinstall it?

And if the Creative Cloud version isn’t listed in the CC Desktop app after you uninstall the non-CC version, then log out of the CC Desktop app, via its Preferences (Gear) / Accounts area, then reboot, then log back in.  This forces the CC Desktop to rescan what is and isn’t installed.

  • Failed installation of Lightroom 5 from Creative Cloud App Manager on Windows Vista 64Bit

    Hi,
I recently subscribed to the Creative Cloud. All applications from the App Manager downloaded and installed successfully, except for Lightroom 5, with the error message below. The LR5 download seems to be successful, but after about 2/3 of the way through the installation, it fails and gives this error:

  • Lightroom trial and creative cloud account

    Hello friends,
I have a LR4 trial that has expired. When I downloaded the trial I had a good feeling I would buy so I spent a fair amount of time organizing photos to use LR as well as get some editing done. Of coarse I loved LR and decided to buy the creative cloud membership. Problem is of coarse my 30 day trail has expired. The only way to license LR now is with a serial number. My understanding is that Creative Cloud doesnt give serials.
Is there a way to keep my LR as installed and activate a license with creative cloud. If not what would be the most pain free way to download it again through the Creative Cloud interface and keep everything as it is now in LR.
It may be important to note that I cant access LR, as soon as I open the program it prompts me for a S#
    Thanks guys and gals,
    Dale

    Hey Dale,
When you have a paid Creative Cloud membership Lightroom will appear in the Adobe Application Manager. If you choose the option to install Lightroom with an expired Lightroom trial currrently installed it will just update that installation so it is licensed as part of Creative Cloud. Any catalogs or work you did with the trial will still be available and it will no longer prompt you to enter a serial number.

  • Lightroom 5 without Creative Cloud?

  • Is / Will there be a way to try Lightroom 6 without Creative Cloud?

I'm asking because I'm looking for a new computer. With Lightroom 5 I was able to download the trial, go to my computer store and try it on different computers and see which one performed better. Since Lightroom 6' performance depends not only on cpu and ssd performance, this step would be more important than ever.
Unfortunately I can't go into a computer store and start downloading Lightroom a couple of times.
So will there be a trial version to download, put on a usb thumbdrive and take with me to try on a computer without / with poor internet connection?

Start from here. Download and install and you will be asked if you have a serial or want to start a 30 days trial.

  • What's the correct procedure to upgrade from Lightroom 5.7 to Lightroom 6? My Creative Cloud app still reports Lightoom as being "Up to date"

If I choose "Check for updates" from the Help menu within Lightroom 5.7 I get the message that an upgrade is indeed available. If I click the "Download" button from here I get sent to a web page with this message… "To update to the latest version of Lightroom for use with your Creative Cloud membership, please quit Lightroom, launch the Creative Cloud app, and click the "Install" button next to Lightroom 5" Well there is no "Install" button next to Lightroom 5 because Creative Cloud app reports that Lightroom is "Up to date"

I don't know for sure, but I imagine it has to do with Adobe's method of gradually notifying people of the upgrade to keep their servers from getting flooded. If all the hundreds of thousands of accounts where constantly checking to see if new programs where available every minute of every day, that would be some serious overhead. They probably do something like "check once daily at midnight to see if new versions of PS, LR, IL, DW, etc are available and notify the user".

  • Is Lightroom 5 installed through the Creative Cloud App really Lightroom CC?

I installed Photoshop and Lightroom using the Creative Cloud app. Photoshop says "Photoshop CC." Lightroom says Lightroom 5. Is it really the CC version?

Yes, it is. But in Lightroom, go to Help > Check for updates, to make sure you're updated to the most recent update version.
