Lightroom trial won't install-error 1

Trying to download/install Lightroom 4 trial. Terrible with computers but it looks like it downloads but when I go to open the installer it says "Operation could not be completed.  (com.apple.installer.pagecontroller error-1)" Help please!

10.5.8 So that would explain it. Again computer dumb lol but there are no software updates available where do I go from here? Is there a way to upgrade to the 10.6.8 or can I use a different version of the photo software? Thanks for your help!!!

  • Lightroom trial won't install on Macbook

    Hey,
I've downloaded the file but when I click on it, it opens in a window that saids the disk image could not be opened and that the reason is not recognised.
    HELP!! PLEASE!!!!

    Hi,
.dmg is the right file to be downloaded to install the application on a Mac.
The file size shows that the download was not completed.
The Lightroom Mac installer file size is approximately 113 MB.
I would recommend re-downloading the installer.

  • Lightroom 2 won't install at all

    Hi, folks--
Could anyone suggest why my new version of Lightroom 2 won't install at all on my system? At first I thought that it was because my comp didn't meet the minimum requirements, but I believe it does, so I'm stumped. I received a Windows Installer error message stating, "This installation package could not be opened. Contact the application vendor to verify that this is a valid Windows Installer package." I'm trying to install from a brand-new CD purchase made through Amazon, so I trust the retailer. I have a valid serial number and all that.
I'm running Win XP Pro, SP3.
    Thanks for the help!
    -Greg

My suggestion is to download the trial (which is the full version) and try that. You can then add the serial number on the one you purchased.

  • Lightroom trial will not install

Lightroom trial will not install , javascript error? Mac OSX10.8.5

Scrappy1 what do you mean exactly by doing a scan?
Under Windows 7 you will want to use the Programs and Features Control Panel to remove your installation.  I would recommend verifying that Photoshop Lightroom is removed from the list of installed applications.

  • Flash CS4 Trial won't install

    Hi There!
I've been trying to install Flash CS4 Trial since its release
but always get the same error message.
The package is uncompressed and install process begins, goes
to 100% and then a message box comes on asking to check disk space
(I've got plenty) and permissions and privileges (I'm using the the
admin account). Firewalls down, no good.
Tried on 3 different machines with plenty of disk space,
memory, etc, both on XP and Vista. Doesn't work.
I have also downloaded the same file 3 or 4 times. No good.
I wonder if anybody else has faced the same frustrating
    problems.
I had previously installed CS4 suite (beta) and it all worked
    fine.
    Please, help!

What in the World? Is there anyway to get FLaSH CS4 trial
version to install? OK. I have Service Pack 3, it keeps telling me
to disable my Firewall, (which I have done over and over, after
re-booting...) I even tried to install after checking off
everything in the msconfig in the Run it won't do anything
different... Also, I still haven't seen hide nor hair of any
'FLEXnet' file or app ANYWHERE. Honestly, what is with this crazy
'install' routine Adobe? Help! I really want to be working with
this new prog!!! Please do away with this insane install thing
    please... (ASAP) ...thanks.
UPDATE: Ok, now i've gotten to the next problem: the Install
stops at 8% (Dynamiclink Support) no matter what... I was able to
install the CS4 of Photoshop though. I'm going to try removing my
licensed copy of Flash MX2004 in case it is interfering with the
CS4 Flash install... Other options may be try installing the
Premiere so that it can get the Dynamiclink Support installed ...?
maybe CleanScript...? no way to find the simple solution on any
support pages or forums though? hmm...
    SOLVED:
I managed to put off some bills and purchased the upgrade
from MX2004 and the install worked fine... go figure! (This also
allowed for the phone tech support assistance i apparently needed
too. I got a nice person after a 15 minute wait.) The purchased
upgrade download worked as far as the install went: good; but: I
went click on the FLaSH icon to open the program after a reboot and
it said "the Licensing is no durn good no more." So I said,hmmm...
Here's what was likely a problem: the FLEXnet folder (had to
do an Explorer search to locate these) had been duplicated from a
previous install attempt a few days earlier and the duplicate AS
WELL AS the 'non-duplicate' had a 'read only' status that need to
be un-checked and permissions had to be set on the FLEXnet folder
for Admin, etc. That was pretty much the culprit. Hope this may
help someone. This tech file was a help: kb405970

  • Creative Cloud Desktop app won't install error 207; Adobe server?

Is there a problem with some of Adobe.com servers? My employer just purchased a CC subscription for my work Mac, and the CC Desktop App won't install. I've restarted my Mac, quit all Adobe products, redownloaded the DMG file (creativecloudinstaller.dmg), and checked to make sure my firewall is off. But I still get an error message #207. My DNS servers are set to the same ones that other Macs in my group are set to, and they have CC on their Macs.
I don't know if it's related, but I can't load "adobe.com" in my browser, either. All other webpages are fine, including (obviously) this forum.
I am using OS 10.8.5, connected via Ethernet, and my browser is Chrome.

Thank you for your help, Ned. I also called Adobe help via phone, and he confirmed that my company's server needed to whitelist several Adobe sites. The company had revised their servers not long ago, and evidently did not transfer their old whitelists (which is why my coworkers had previously been able to access Creative Cloud). The phone support person emailed me a helpful list that I could forward to our company's tech support center—but the link you supplied in your response was also perfectly relevant.

  • Windows Updates won't install - Error 0x80072EFD

    Question
Windows Updates won’t install.  I’m receiving Error 0x80072EFD.  What can I do to solve this?
    Answer
This particular error means that your computer was not able to connect to the Internet when it tried to install updates.  First, check your Internet connection and then try again. If that doesn’t work, try the methods below.
Method A: Make sure that Windows Firewall is turned on, and temporarily disable third-party firewalls
Warning This workaround may make a computer or a network more vulnerable to attack by malicious users or by malicious software such as viruses. We do not recommend this workaround but are providing this information so that you can implement this workaround at your own discretion. Use this workaround at your own risk.
To complete this method, follow these steps.
Step 1: Make sure that Windows Firewall is turned on
To open Windows Firewall, click the Start button, and then click Control Panel. In the search box, type firewall, and then click Windows Firewall.
Click Turn Windows Firewall on or off.
Click On (recommended), and then click OK.
Step 2: Temporarily disable third-party firewalls
Click the Start button, click Control Panel, and then, under System and Security, click Review your computer's status.
Click the arrow button next to Security to expand the section.
Under Firewall, read the firewall status note. This information will indicate which, if any, firewall is installed and whether the firewall is turned on. For example, for ZoneAlarm, the notice will say ZoneAlarm Firewall is currently ON.
Open the third-party firewall application that is listed in the firewall status note, and temporarily disable the firewall. If necessary, refer to the firewall application documentation, or contact the application vendor for more information about how to temporarily disable the application.
Step 3: Try to install the updates again
If this method resolved your issue, follow the steps in Method B, step 2 to re-enable your third-party firewall. You might want to also check for and install any necessary updates to your third-party firewall.
If this method did not resolve your issue, continue with Method B.
Method B: Temporarily disable third-party antivirus software
Warning This workaround may make a computer or a network more vulnerable to attack by malicious users or by malicious software such as viruses. We do not recommend this workaround but are providing this information so that you can implement this workaround at your own discretion. Use this workaround at your own risk.
Note If your third-party firewall is still disabled from Method A, do not open e-mail messages, surf the Web, or use instant messenger at this point.
Step 1: Locate and temporarily disable your third-party antivirus software
Note Windows does not detect all antivirus software, and some antivirus software doesn't report its status to Windows. If your antivirus software is not displayed in Windows Security Center, and you're not sure how to find it, try any of the following:
Look for the antivirus software in the list of programs on the Start menu.
Type the name of the software or the publisher in the Search box on the Start menu.
Look for the software in Action Center:
Click the Start button, click Control Panel, and then, under System and Security, click Review your computer's status.
Click the arrow button next to Security to expand the section.
If Windows can detect your antivirus software, it will be listed under Virus protection.
If the software is turned on, check the Help documentation that was included with the software for information about how to disable it.
Note You may have to look in the application documentation to determine how to do this.
Step 2: Check for Windows Updates
As soon as the antivirus software is temporarily disabled, visit the Windows Update or Microsoft Update site again, and try to download and install updates.
If this method resolved your issue, and you were able to install the updates successfully, you should re-enable your third-party antivirus software.
If this method did not resolve your issue, continue with Method C.
Method C: Disable software accelerator programs
Disable any software accelerator programs that may be running. Some examples of these programs are file download accelerators and Internet speed accelerators.
Note If your third-party firewall is still disabled from Method B, do not open e-mail messages, surf the Web, or use instant messenger at this point.
Step 1: Disable software accelerator programs
To do this, select from the following options:
See the documentation that was included with the program.
View the Help files for your program.
Contact the program vendor. For information about how to contact the program vendor, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
    http://support.microsoft.com/gp/vendors
    Step 2: Install Updates
As soon as the software accelerator program is disabled, visit the Windows Update or Microsoft Update site again, and try to download and install updates.
If this method resolved your issue, you should enable the software accelerator programs that you disabled in Step 1.
If this method did not resolve your issue, continue with Method E.
Method D: Add the Windows Update Web site and the Microsoft Update Web site to the Trusted Sites list
Note If your third-party firewall is still disabled from Method A, do not open e-mail messages, surf the Web, or use instant messenger at this point.
To add the Windows Update Web site and the Microsoft Update Web site to the Trusted Sites list, follow these steps:
    Start Windows Internet Explorer.
On the Tools menu, click Internet Options.
Note If you are using Internet Explorer 7, and the menu is not available, press the ALT key on your keyboard to access the Internet Explorer Menu.
Click the Security tab, and then click Trusted Sites.
Click Sites, and then click to clear the Require server verification (https for all sites in this zone check box.
In the Add this Web site to the zone box, type the following addresses, and then click Add after you type each address:
    http://update.microsoft.com
    http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com
    Click OK two times.
Try to install the updates again.
If this method resolved your issue and you were able to install updates successfully, you should re-enable your third-party firewall if it is still disabled. To do this, see step 2 in Method A.
For more methods and advanced troubleshooting techniques, see You may encounter temporary connection-related errors when you use Windows Update or Microsoft Update to install updates.

Mark, I've just been through this update issue with two installations.  In my case, it seemed intertwined with authentification and indexing not working, either.    Upon a transfer of my system disk to new hardware I got hit with the issue and couldn't fix it.  Which is why I did a clean install of Win7 ultimate 64bit on my T61p.  The install (including update) worked great until I ran the intel matrix storage manager update.  This broke windows update.  If you surf the web, and include "intel rapid storage manager" or "intel matrix storage manager" and "Windows update fails", you'll see that a lot of folks feel that the intel driver (or how windows handles it) is what breaks update.  I tracked this down to a driver, iastor.sys, in windows\system32\drivers.    I was able to fix my Window Update by copying an iastor.sys from another recently built machine (should be exactly the same, but this was my wife's T510, but still Win 7 Pro 64) to overwrite the iastor.sys that the intel update changed.  To be clear: I couldn't get windows update or indexing to work.  I overwrote* the "bad" iastor.sys with one that worked on another computer.  Rebooted.  Update worked. I just wanted to point out that instead of blindly installing updates to fix problems, folks should be aware that sometimes the update is the problem. Especially as these systems are off warranty and the drivers are not being updated.  I've asked elsewhere, so let me ask here: Where is the System Interface Driver for t61p?  Not listed anywhere on site, links on the web referring to it are all broken.  Is the System Interface Driver now part of another driver program?  Thanks! Jim T61p, Win 7 Ultimate 64bit, and T510, Win 7 Pro 64bit

  • Visual C++ 2008 Redistributables (x64) won't install error code 2381

Hi, i'm trying to install some dev tools but this redistributable package won't install... it keep getting the 2381 error code and i'm trying different ways to install it. I've tried the compatibility mode, and ofc i'm running it as admin always.
I just installed VS Express 2013 for Desktop, but i need the 64 version of this libs so i need to install apart.
I'm under Windows 8.1 Pro Update 1 64 bits. The windows update system is working ok, there's no errors on the updates, everyting is updated ok. I've also run the sfc /scannow, no problems.
I need this to install win64 openssl. Help plz!

    1. Most probably the problems stems from missing/wrong framework 3.5x.
    2. On the other way C++ redistributable is compatible up to W 7, so the compatibility mode may or need not work for you.

  • Lightroom Trial won't open

I've downloaded the Lightroom Trial to my MacBook Pro 10.7.5 but it says it can't open the file. What now?

Moving this discussion to the Photoshop Lightroom forum.  You may also want to reference Error "Unable to start correctly - 0Xc00007b" - http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/error-unable-start-correctly-0xc00007b.html.

  • Downloaded Acrobat Pro 7 from Adobe site, won't install, errors out, what do I do now?

I had Acrobat Pro 7 on my old XP machine. I bought a new Win7 machine. Went to install Acrobat on it from the old CD, with original serial no. Wouldn't activate, said "activation server not available". Went to the Adobe site, that error page linked to a download of an .exe for Acrobat Pro 7 not requiring activation, providing password. So yeah, I thought . . . .Did the whole thing, but the install errors out, every time, and offers no workaround. So I am stuck.  Error popups attached. Any guidance appreciated. I bought the original program, I'm legit.
The error messages are the usual opaque stuff, I have no idea how I would verify that I have access to a directory that the installer just now created on my hd . . . Why wouldn't I?
I REALLY really need the Adobe pdf printer driver for all my apps, particularly Sibelius, PDF995 drops things . . . .

OK, thanks both, yes I have 64-bit so there goes that reliable printer.
HOWEVER, the URL that 2.Bill gave me is exactly where I downloaded their exe from, the one that *won't install. If you read my post, I am looking for how to make that installer work; I found the folder listed in both error messages, but neither of the referenced files are there, only a similarly named .dll.
And when I go to delete the entire Acrobat 7 folder so I can start over (I did uninstall it after my install from disk that wouldn't activate), the system tells me I do NOT have access to delete it, I need permission from SYSTEM. But I am the only user on my new PC and as far as I know I have admin rights.
I waded into the Security settings for the folder, but the system won't let me change them. This is . . . counterintuitive . . .
I am out of my depth.
    Anyone else have any ideas?
    Thanks for listening,
    Davod

I realize this is months old but posting in case somone else Googles the error the same way I did and comes across this thread.
I received this same error when I was attempting to install the trial.  Somehow the install directory was set to "Read-Only".
Once I unticked that it installed just fine.

Sounds as though you're trying to install Dreamweaver CS3 on
    Mac OS X
    10.3 or earlier. CS3 requires OS X 10.4 as a minimum. It
    won't install
    on earlier versions.

  • Silverlight plugin won't install: error 1603... disable your antivirus

I could not install MS Silverlight. I had to turn off my antivirus and try again and then it worked.
When I tried to install Silverlight it got to 99% complete then I got a generic error 1603 "installation failed" message that was no help. The silverlightMSI file in %temp% (run from command line) shows a 1406 error code because the installer was unable to modify a registry key for Firefox (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\MozillaPlugins\@Microsoft.com/NpCtrl,version=1.0). I do have admin rights for my account but my stupid McAfee antivirus blocked the installer from modifying the key.

    1603 is a "Fatal Error"
Have a look at these two links to see if they are any help
I scanned both URLs using Virus Total and they are indicated as 100% clean.

  • Adobe PSE 11 won't install: error 1321

I bought adobe PSE 11, when installing, error 1321: "Installer has unsufficient privelages to modify c:\windows\installer"   appears.    I have tried running as admin, but nothing .  What do I do?

The installer was probably unable to write all the required files to disk. Consult your system administrator. If you are the sole administrator see these notes. They relate to Creative Suite but may help you to analyze the problem. If in doubt contact Adobe Installation Support Team.
