Lightroom V3 unable to import catalogue due to unknown error

Mac OS X 10.6.4
I have Lightroom V2.6 and V3 beta 2. I have just purchased Lightroom V3 upgrade.
I installed Lightroon V3 and upon first start up imported my V2 catalogue (only one catalogue on V2 exists) - this has worked fine.
I also have a single catalogue on V3 beta 2 that I need to import.
V3 began importing Lightroom catalogue V3 (beta 2) but stopped with the following message:
Lightroom could not import this catalogue because of an unknown error.
I understand from trawling these forums that Lightroom V3 may have a bug in relation to importing duplicate files from previous catalogues but in my case I cannot see any files or folders that have been imported from Lightroom V3 beta 2 - the majority of the folders or files catalogued in V3 beta 2 have never been catalogued in Lightroom V2.
Any ideas for a fix?

It'sa bug. Duplicate folders prevent the import. You'll have to wait for 3.1 along with the rest of us.
The folks at Adobe know about it, but you can file a bug report if you wsh.

  • Unable to import M3U file. Unknown error -50

    Hey guys,
I am unable to import an M3U playlist into iTunes. Getting the following error message:
The file "File.M3U" cannot be imported. An unknown error occurred (-50).
Have any of you seen it and know a way to fix it?
    Thanks in advance.

Any chance that the Playlist you are importing has some 'special characters'? They are usually fine within the playlist, but the title of the playlist cannot contain them.
    Just a thought....

  • XML import - stopped due to "critical error"

Hi all. For the moment, I'm still working with FCS1/FCP 5.1.4, OS 10.4.11.
In the past, when I've needed to open a project I've started on other machines running 6.0.x, I've done an XML export, and imported said xml file into a new project on my machine. If I recall correctly, XML type 2 worked just fine.
Well, it doesn't work now, and I'm wondering why?
The machine I'm exporting from is running OS10.4.11, and FCP 6.0.3. I've exported the project out of there in all flavors of xml (1,2,3 and 4), with and without clip metadata. And I get nothing on import, bupkus, nada, zilch and zero...except for the oh-so-helpful message "XML import stopped due to critical error"
    So who broke this?

I've had this happen to me when the original project contained sequences that used filters not supported by 5.1.4.
My solution was to strip out suspect filters until it worked.
    Best,
    Tom

  • Getting "Can not open the file due to unknown error(FRM:0007)"

Getting "Can not open the file due to unknown error(FRM:0007)", when refreshing the local copy of Deski report  from user docs.
    Any assistance
    Thanks,
    Sasi.

    Hi Sasi,
One of the reason for this error is corrupted universe. So you can try following steps and restore copy of universe and then try to import this universe and check whether it works.
1.While importing a universe, a temp file is created in the users local settings temp directory.
    2. For example C:\Documents and Settings\brijones\Local Settings\Temp\0dd0b0a7 .
    3. File has no extension is relatively the same size as the original universe file.
4.Rename this file to original universe name.
    I hope it helps.
    Regards,
    Snehal

  • Portlet cannot be displayed due to unknown error

In our application we are getting Error, "portlet cannot be displayed due to unknown error" from ALUI portal. There is no enough informaiton apart from this. This error is not consistent, can happen any time.
Can you please advice what could be the cause?
    Thanks,

Start the "BEA Ali Logger service" on your portal server machine. Then when the problem occurs you can analyze \bea\alui\ptlogging\logs\portal\portalserver-log.spy to find out more information about what might be causing the problem. You can also set up a wireshark network capture log using the ringbuffer mode which lets you collect logs in a loop. This way if there are network issues you can find out about that too. If you're not comfortable setting these up or analyzing them an oracle support engineer can assist you if you open a case.

    Hello!
When I plugin my iphone to a wall, it refuses to charge (it just keeps making a bleeping noise).
And when I try to connect my iPhone to iTunes, I can't. It just says: iTunes Cannot connect to iPhone due to unknown error (0xE8000065)
Any suggestions? I replaced the battery hoping that would do the trick, but nada.
    Cheers

Did you try a different charger and a different cable? If it won't charge the error will go away soon also when the battery dies.

  • TS3694 trying to update software on my iphone 4s- "could not be updated due to unknown error" (6).  what does this mean.  my phone appears to be in a near complete state of update...

Not sure what to do.  finally decided to upgrate software on my phone.  installed itunes on my new laptop. plugged by phone in and started process.  nearing the end i received an error message stating that the phone "could not be updated due to unknown error" (6).  HELP!
the phone itself appears to be in mid update....

    This describes error 6:
Errors related to third-party security software
    Error 2, 4 (or -4), 6, 1000, and 9006
Follow the steps to troubleshoot security software. Often, uninstalling third-party security software will resolve these errors.
There may be third-party software that modifies your default packet size in Windows by inserting a TcpWindowSize entry into your registry. An incorrectly set default packet size can cause these errors. Contact the manufacturer of the software that installed the packet size modification for assistance or follow this article by Microsoft: How to reset Internet Protocol (TCP/IP).
Verify that access to ports 80 and 443 are allowed on your network.
Verify that communication to albert.apple.com or phobos.apple.com isn't blocked by a firewall or other Internet security setting.
Discard the .ipsw file, open iTunes and attempt to download the update again. See the steps under "Advanced steps > Rename, move, or delete the iOS software file (.ipsw)" below for file locations.
Restore your device while connected to a different network.
    Restore using a different computer.

  • HT3204 When attempting to burn an audio cd, I get an error message that says-burning failed due to unknown error (4280)?  It has been working fine, until today...what does this mean??

When attempting to burn an audio cd from my playlist, I get an error message that says, burn failed due to unknown error (4280).  It has been working fine for months...any solutions?

I have the exact same problem.
Been searching through this site to try and find an answer but still not come up with anything.
The wierd thing is that a couple of days ago it was working fine, and suddenly overnight it's stopped working.
The only solution i've found is that you need to have administrator rights as it says in the posts on the site below:
    http://www.emergingearth.com/itunes-7-cant-burn-cds/
Noticed by the diagnostic in your post that you dont have admin rights like me so that mite be the problem. Not sure if this is the right solution though.
