Lightroom Web Galleries - Wheres Flash??

One of my favorite web-gallies in Lightroom was the flash gallery. Though lightroom CC touts a host of new gallery templates, I'm finding there are less and i cant seem to locate the Flash gallery option. Also when i select "file-name" to be represented in the gallery, it is now on the image where it can be lost due to the variety in colors in the photograph. The file name used to come up on in the LR panel rather then on the image. Any help appreciated

Flash died a lonely death. It's gone from Lr CC.
Try Caption Filename to place the file name below the image:

  • Naming Lightroom Web Galleries

Is there a way to name a Lightroom web gallery something other than "Index"? There is an input box to the right that I thought I could change to a specific name like "Birds" but that didn't seem to work. I need to create 4-5 galleries and I don't want them all to be named "Index." I am probably missing something here.
    Thanks!
    Pat

    Pat,
The reason to use index.html as the default file name is that web servers are configured to default to the index.html file when no html file is specified in a URL. For example, when you connect to something like this:
    http://www.whatever.com
The browser is not being told to access a specific file, and therefore defaults to index.html, in effect going to this URL:
    http://www.whatever.com/index.html
The browser would not default to a file of any other name, like birds.html. So if a user sought out the URL http://www.whatever.com and there was a file there called birds.html, but no file called index.html, then they would instead receive a 404 Page Not Found error.
It's much easier, therefore, to keep your galleries in individual folders, with index.html files for each. By habitual convention, most people using the web are more accustomed to entering URLs without file extensions. A user would therefore be more likely to remember and use a URL like:
    http://www.whatever.com/galleries/birds/
    Than something like:
    http://www.whatever.com/galleries/birds.html
And if they accidentally forgot to use the .html file extension, there being no index.html file, they would then receive a 404 Page Not Found error and become thoroughly confused.
Keeping your galleries in individual folders also makes them easier for you to maintain. If you want to ditch a gallery, you simply delete its folder; no need to rummage through files trying to figure out which images belong to which index sheet, etc.
I hope that clarifies the reasoning behind naming conventions a bit.

  • Lightroom web gallery in Flash CS5.5

I am building a photography portfolio website.  I have pretty much all content built and finished in a FLA.  My last hurdle is also the most important part: the photo gallery.  I use adobe lightroom, and want to use the web module to create that gallery.  Then I want to insert it into my flash website, and have that gallery open when the user clicks a button.
The galleries on lightroom use xml and javascript, which I don't really understand.  At any rate I don't think I can insert just the gallery's SWF file because it uses these external codes to load the photos and what not.  What do I have to do in order to post this in my current flash file and have it load everything ok?

no, max stage width is 2880 and max stage height is 2880.
those are just the stage dimensions though.  unless you're viewing on a monitor larger than 2880x2880, there's not benefit to using a larger stage size.  you can display much larger objects using scrolling within flash.
p.s.  please mark helpful/correct responses, if there are any.

  • Using Lightroom web galleries with iWEB

Adobe Lightroom has a very nice gallery template that can be used to create a gallery page. It outputs the page to a folder with the associated files, includingindex.html.
I would like to use this approach for presenting the galleries rather than the photo pages in the iWEB template I am using.
I have searched here, the Adobe forums as well as some dedicated to photography.
    A solution escapes me.
I have no interest in learning HTML or other website programming skills.
I am looking for a cut and paste solution.
    Thanks.
    David

Ok now I'm assuming you have a .mac account like you said. When you click on the icon of the idisk in your finder, close finder and open idisk from your desktop. Then go through the hierarchy as I said, and drop your folder in the final iWeb folder. The page has to generate at that point. Then do what I told you to do i.e. http..........to see the page. Once you get the established address of the page, copy it. Then go to your iweb doc and establish a page where you would have text and maybe an image to link to your new gallery. Go into your inspector click on make hyperlink active and and enable as a hyperlink when you either highlight your text you want or the image that's going to link to your gallery. This is going to be an external page you want to link to so put that in. Then paste your new gallery page address into the area to let it know. Let it know you want to open page in a new window...check that, and that should be it. But you must delete the apple address in the external page info thats already their. Also, what version of iweb do you have? I have '08. My external pages were with either iphoto or a photoshop web gallery.
    I hope I didn't confuse you further.....Good luck.....Christina

  • How can you add a mp3 player to your Lightroom web gallery?

I feel like this would be a highly desirable feature and assumed Adobe would add it to Lightroom 3. That doesnt seem to be the case. Does anyone know an easy work around for adding music to your Lightroom web galleries? Dewplayer http://www.alsacreations.fr/dewplayer-en.html seems to have a open source mp3 player with a code generator. I assume i can use that and then cut and past the code into one of the lightroom gallery files. Anyone know where to paste it? I am using lighroom's simpleviewer web gallery.

  • Linking Lightroom Web Galaries to a Home Page

I'll try this message here and on the Dreamweaver forum. I am new to Dreamweaver and am a novice website builder, using the graphical interface. I would like to link a HomePage to several Lightroom Web Galleries. I have no problem linking from the HomePage to the Web Galleries, but have trouble getting from the Web Galleries back to the Home Page. I'm opening the Web Galleries in Dreamweaver, inserting a single cell table with a <td> tag, and linking text in the table back to the Website HomePage. When I first go to the Web Gallery, the linking text is visible and I can link back to the HomePage, but if I click to view one of the photos in the Web Gallery the linking text disappears. I can't find any other pages in the Lightroom Light Galleries so I'm assuming I need to add something to the link to keep it from being erased (disappearing). Thanks for any help.

There's a "Web or Mail Link" field where you can put something like ../ (which means "go up a directory". The Dreamweavers experts can give you a much better idea what to put in that field, I don't know if ../ if even correct. It might be ../../

  • Font Change in Lightroom Web Gallery

Is ther any way to change the default font in the lightroom web galleries (specifically the HTML-based gallery)? I feel like it's probably a simple change in a menu somewhere that I missed

In a HTML based page the fonts shown will always be dependent on the fonts installed on the end users computers. Whilst many LR galleries have the ability to select a font group that the respective end users machine may display by editing the page css style, I don't think the default html gallery that comes installed with LR has this.
If you want to make the change yourself you will need to recode the exported gallery files yourself. In the index file a line such as
    body,td,th {      font-family: Verdana, Geneva, sans-serif; } should do it

  • Web link for id plate for flash web galleries

I've created a number of html galleries, where you have the ability to make your id plate a link- very useful as this can link back to a main page with links to other galleries. This is pretty straightforward for HTML:
My problem, however, is that the flash galleries do not have this option for some reason! I don't see a way to make the id plate into a link for flash galleries under the web export...
I don't even mind going back after exporting to my local computer and adding in a link... but I am not proficent with flash, and don't know where to add it.... the index.html that is created as the home page of the web gallery didn't include anything I could edit... I guess flash buries things a bit and its harder to edit it manually....
Any help in allowing a link to be made from the id plate for flash galleries would be greatly appreciated...
    thanks,
    Erik

    Erik,

  • Using Lightroom Flash Galleries in Flash Catalyst

Hi there. I love the ability of Lightroom to create brilliant Flash Galleries especially since there are so many plug-ins out there for the Lightroom Web Module.
My questions is, Is there a way to take the exported Flash Gallery from Lightroom, and use it in Flash Catalyst? In Flash Catalyst I have tried to import the .swf file created by Lightroom but when I try to view the Catalyst project, the gallery doesn't work. I have also tried after the fact to move the remaining files exported by Lightroom into the same folder Catalyst places the .swf file, but still to no avail.
Am I doing something wrong here? I'm not a programmer and have limited knowledge of code, but I'm also a quick learner and would very much like some help finding a solution to this.
If you have any advice, it would be much appreciated!
    Thanks,
    Stef

I'm not familiar with Lightroom in particular, but there is a tutorial on using a similar swf gallery here.
    Things to check:
The lightroom files are all in the same location relative to the swf when you move them to your project
If your html page and your Catalyst swf are in different directories, make sure you set the base url
If you're still having trouble, you may want to install the debug player from here:
    http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
It can generally show you any problems that pop up. They may not be very human-readable, but if you post them here I bet someone can help you decrypt them.

  • How to customize flash-based web galleries?

Has anyone here figured out how to customize the CS4 Bridge flash-based web galleries? Specifically, I'd like to be able to add the "description" line from the metadata to an image, without having to add ALL the metadata (as a couple of the galleries allow).
Seems like such a simple thing. Can't imagine why Adobe didn't add it. It is standard in the older HTML gallery templates.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
Barring that, does anyone know of a second-party flash photo gallery that allows for information this information to be displayed?

Flash is not supported on the iPad - and as Adobe have announced that they are stopping development on all mobile versions of it, it probably never will be.
Browser apps such as Skyfire, iSwifter, Puffin and Photon 'work' on some sites, but judging by their reviews not all sites. Also some websites, especially news sites, have their own apps in the App Store.
If you do a search on this forum you will find hundreds of other threads on the subject.
