Lightroom with CS6

I have Adobe CS6 and want to use lightroom.  How should I purchase it?

Yes, Lightroom will work perfectly well with Photoshop CS6. That is the combination that I am using now. No problems. For best results, make sure that you have updated Photoshop to be using the latest Camera Raw plug-in.

  • Print profiles no longer working correctly with CS6 64bit to my Epson R2880

Hi, until recently, my print profiles were working correctly  with CS6 64bit (Win 7 ultimate 64) to my Epson R2880, they now print washed out/desaturated  but the same profiles still print correctly using Lightroom 4. has there  been an update that could have affected things or are there any other  suggestion? Thanks, Dave.

    Hi,
    I hope someone can help!
I recently bought my first Mac, a great MacBook Pro which I love!
I use Lightroom3 and Photoshop CS5 to edit photos and now want to print from my Epson R1800.
I found that the prints initially came off very dark & contrasty, so I calibrated both the MBP screen and my Samsung SuncMaster 245B monitor with my Spyder2 and the Colorvision software.
Even after establishing colour profiles for both screens, the printed image was still far darker and "heavier" than that shown on screen. This was the same whether printing from LR3 or from the Mac Preview app (it was worth trying I thought!).
So searching for help on the web I came across this thread and now wonder whether I should uninstall my driver (6.57) and reinstall the printer with 6.23.
Stephen did you find that this worked - did PS CS5 behave after that?
Of course I'm trying to print some work soon and in desperation could adjust every (edited) image by brightening & reducing contrast, however with dozens to print it seems crazy to do that, not to mention wrong!
    Thanks for any help!

  • Unable to open d800 files with cs6 and camera raw 8.3

unable to open d800 files with cs6 and camera raw 8.3

Have you used Nikon Transfer on those files? Early versions are known to corrupt files so that ACR can't read them. Nikon has since fixed the bug so new versions are safe.
Here's a thread (with a fix) in the Lightroom forum: https://forums.adobe.com/message/6253962

  • I would like Adobe to develop a programme that sits between Lightroom and CS6

    I have Lightroom 1, 2, 3 & 4 (which I can't use at the moment because it is too slow) I also have CS3.
I am an enthusiastic amatuer and don't need the catalogue facility in Lightroom (which can be exasperating at times) and I don't need 90% of the stuff on CS6 as I do most of my editing in Adobe Camera Raw.
I would like to see Adobe develop a programme that sits between Lightroom and CS6 where the Lightroom  layout is kept much the same only instead of a catalogue have a browser in its place, I would also like to see the clone tool & the healing brush replaced with proper ones that work like the ones in CS6, I would also like to see an adjustment brush with a facility to invert my selection or some sort of masking, these are the tools I use most often in photoshop.
Does anyone feel the same as me and if so how do we contact Adobe to let them know.

I think it is extremely presumptuous of you Mr. Hess, to confuse honest, friendly advice with an attempt to "dictate" how someone should handle their workflow ... my comment was offered as advice ... I was not handing down an edict to force anyone to do anything ....
It's one thing to bury your head in the sand and ignore sound advice ... it's quite another to accuse others of forcing their will on someone ... just because you had a bad experience about discussing another feature in another thread ...
I could really care less if you, the OP or anyone else doesn't adopt a sound DAM solution ... I don't have to work with your images ... but if I did, you can be assured they would be properly cataloged even if you didn't see the value in the process ...

  • How do I install and activate all my downloads for Adobe lightroom and cs6 design web premium

how do I install and activate all my downloads for Adobe lightroom and cs6 design web premium?

I do not provide step by step tutorials.  What aspect of installing are you having difficulty with?  Can you not locate the installations files?  Are you having an issue downloading?  Do you need to know where to find your serial number(s)?

  • Lightroom and CS6

Hi, I wonder if there will be any problem for me to buy and install Lightroom CC and get it up and running with my CS6 Master Collection suit? My company is´nt ready to go over totally to CC yet, they are working to make it possible with Adobes cloud solution, but there is some problems I can´t give any information about.
So, my situation is simply that I want to have Lightroom in our photo studio, so the people I shoot can choose the image they want. As I said I have CS6 Master Collection, and the best solution would be if I could buy Lightroom for CS6, but that is´nt possible? Will there be any file conflicts if I buy, download and install Lightroom on my MacBook? I mean, with shared files and other rights issues on the hard drive?
    Thankful for a quick answer!
    Best regards
    Fredrik

yes, you can install, activate and use lr and the cs6 suites including master collection on the same computer.

  • Does Extension Manager work with CS6

Is this only a CC program or will it work with Lightroom extensions and CS6 programs?  Thanks

You have to use Extension Manager CS6 to install or manage extensions for CS6 products. Normally Extension Manager CS6 will be installed along with CS6 products. But it doesn't work with Lightroom. Lightroom has its own plugin manager feature.

  • How to use lightroom with desktop PC and mobile with MacBook Pro ?hav

At home I have a desktop PC with all my lr files stored on NAS drive I want to be able to access and edit on macbook when away from home.
1 Is it possible or do I need a Mac pc or change laptop to windows based ?
2 do I use remote access to NAS or use previews and sync catalogue ?
3 can lr exist with both file formats at same time ?

I use a similar setup, with a Windows desktop PC and a MacBook Pro. My photos are on an external drive connected to the Windows machine, and I sync the catalog and smart previews using Dropbox.

  • I'm using a pc, (windows 8.1,) and I cannot get a thick and thin line with CS6. None of the brush tool settings have any effect, even in the preview. Is there a setting I need because I'm using a pc?

I'm using a pc, (windows 8.1,) and I cannot get a thick and thin line with CS6. I want to draw, but I cannot get any linework like I should. I also use Sketchbook Pro, and ToonBoom, and I get wonderful linework. But not with Photoshop.
None of the brush tool settings have any effect, even in the preview. Is there a setting I need because I'm using a pc and not a mac?

    Thanks for your response,
I'm using a Fujitsu T901 laptop, with a stylus pen. Painting works great in Photoshop, but for drawing there is no sensitivity at all.  Frans Vischer

  • Creative Cloud desktop app won't sync with CS6 applications

I am running a Windows 7 64bit machine. I had been running CS6 and CC, but had developed a wide range of problems. With the assistance of Adobe technical support I removed all Adobe software from my pc.
My plan was to do a clean install of CS6, apply all of the updates, and then decide if I wanted to continue with the full CC subscription before installing any CC software. The initial install went fine, as did a whole bunch of upgrades. Along the way Adobe upgraded the Adobe Application Manager to the desktop Creative Cloud app.
Within Creative Cloud it showed an update to Photoshop CS6 (something to do with a Creative Cloud version 13.1.2). So I clicked on update and got an error message and the advice to uninstall and reinstall Photoshop CS6. I followed the advice. I then started Photoshop CS6 and selected the Help -> Updates option. It launched the Adobe Application Manager and I was able to install the update. So now I think everything is good with CS6 installed and up to date, and no CC software has been installed aside from the desktop app.
BUT when I run the Creative Cloud desktop app it still show that there is an update for Photoshop CS6! Clicking on the update button generates a message that the update failed due to a download error.
So my problem is how do I get the CC app in sync with my actual CS6 applications?
My second question is do I need to uninstall AAM to preclude this happening in the future (and if so, how)?

Then it would appear the updates have been applied successfully.  You may want to try implementing solution 2 of CC desktop lists applications as "Up to Date" when not installed - http://helpx.adobe.com/creative-cloud/kb/aam-lists-removed-apps-date.html.

  • Problem with Adobe Acobat that came with CS6

Sad that one cannot seem to get FREE support for what really appears to be an adobe problem.  Periodically i download a reader update.  The Adobe Acrobat that came with CS6 quits working. I have to uninstall and reinstall.  Why?  Seems like when you have both program on a computer it is a problem.  Reader is so much faster to load for reading, vs  Acrobat for doing hard core work.  Why is there this problem on PC versions?

The support issue is not worth the time to address. Adobe has always been this way, does not appear to plan to change, and yet has one of the best forums I have seen. That is why a lot of us ended up here and continue to try to help others.
As to Acrobat and Reader, it was something like AA X and AR X that first let both be installed without problems. When you say AA ? quit working it is not clear what you mean. Can you open it? Can you print to the Adobe PDF printer?  I suspect the answer is yes to both of these. In that case, it is the fact that you installed Reader after Acrobat that it is staying resident and grabbing things you think should open in Acrobat. If you want Acrobat to open fast, then hold down the shift key while you open the file (could be the alt or ctrl key, but think it is shift) to disable the addons that take the time for the load.
In windows, if you want to open a PDF from explorer, you can right click and select whether to use Reader or Acrobat. Also, there is typically no need to do an uninstall and reinstall, but simply do a repair (from help>repair).

  • Help opening RAW on MAC with CS6

I can  not open RAW files from my D90 in CS6 on my MAC.  I keep getting the message "Could not complete your request because Photoshop does not recognize this type of file."  I downloaded the 7.3 Raw update and still get it and am getting when I try to open any type of photo.  I am new to MAC and CS6 so it could just be me.  I used CS5 on a Windows PC for 3 years and never had trouble.  Thank you!!

The D90 is supported by all versions of ACR that run with CS6.
Your image files could be damaged.  This can be the case if you used the Nikon Transfer to copy the files from the card to your computer, as the Nikon utility is known for corrupting the image files on the Mac.
Use either the Finder or the Bridge Photo Download to copy the image files from the card to your computer—I hope you still have the originals on the card.
BTW, it's Mac for Macintosh, not "MAC".

  • How does one transfer CS5 actions for use with CS6?

CS6 installation, which was uneventful, has transferred none of my actions from my copy of CS5. The CS5 actions are located in the actions folder of the APPLICATION/PHOTOSHOP CS5/PRESETS/ACTIONS.  The "actions" folder in application support/adobe in my library is empty, and has always been so.
Only the CS6 default actions are located in the same folder for CS6.
    I use imac i7, lion.
Note that i also have CS3 and CS4 on my machine. This due to recent upgrade to CS5 and recent upgrade to LION, and my general paranoia.
Must i load each action into CS6, one at a time?
    thanks to any and all.
    vince

Re: how does one transfer CS5 actions for use with CS6?
On a Mac - There are multiple ways to do this.  I have done them both ways. In order to do this you need to know where you have your actions stored, and you can move them all at once if you have them stored in the same location.
    1. You can load an action ONE AT TIME into your actions palette by:
         A. Open up the action palette and click on the little arrow with 4 little horizontal lines next to it on the upper right corner of the actions palette.
         B. Select "Load Actions" and a Finder window will open up and you can search your computer through this window for your actions.
         C. Click on the action from the Finder window then click 'Open' at the bottom right of the finder window.
         D. To save these so that they appear every time you open up your actions palette, go back to the little arrow at the top right of the actions palette and when the drop down window opens- click on 'Save Actions'. It will select the location where the          actions are currently stored as the place to save them. If you want to change that path, you can do it at this time in the little path window.  I just leave it, since I keep all my actions stored in the same file.
    2. TO MOVE MULTIPLE ACTION SETS AT ONCE
         A. Open up CS6 (or CS5) and move the Photoshop workspace it to the right side of your computer screen so you can see your desktop on the left side.
         B. Open up your Finder search window from your dock (the square blue head icon thingy for those who are new to photoshop). Move this to the left side of your screen so you can see the Photoshop work space on the right and the Finder window          on the left. In the Finder window, navigate to the file where all your actions are stored, select all the actions in the file (command+A will select everything in the file if you are actively inside the open file) or you can select multiple files           individually by continuously holding down the command key and clicking on the different actions you want to move.
         C. With the Photoshop workspace visible on the right, and the actions palette open so you can see that the actions actually transferred - In the Finder window, click the selected actions you want to load and drag them over to the Photoshop           workspace.  I did this without an image open, I just dragged them onto the empty workspace.  The actions should all appear immediately in the actions palette that is open.
         D. To save these so that they appear every time you open up your actions palette, go back to the little arrow at the top right of the actions palette and when the drop down window opens click on 'Save Actions'. It will select the location where the           actions are stored as the place to save them. If you want to change that path, you can do it at this time in the little path window.  I just leave it, since I keep all my actions stored in the same file.
    I hope this helps.
and I hope there are no typos.

  • Matrox MX02 with CS6

    Hi,
any ideas if the matrox mxo2 works well with cs6, have a chance to buy one loacally for a low price.
I am aware that there has been issues in the past with matrox products, is it still the same.
any other recoemndations for a I/o
    Baz

The MXO2 mini works far better with CS6 than it has with previous versions, particularly with the recent revised driver.
You should bear in mind that the changes in Premiere have forced the removal of most of the old Matrox effects, and those that remain are no longer RT.
You no longer use proprietary Matrox presets as Premiere now copes with anything you throw at it.  I still use the Matrox colour correction as I am used to it, and prefer it to the Adobe effects.  Despite not being RT, it plays smoothly on my timeline without rendering, even when I have used Mercalli, scaling, and sharpening as well.  This is on a 3930K system, not overclocked, with either 1920x1080p Matrox HD I-frame, or high bitrate Canon AVCHD 1080p.
