"Lights ON" in car kit - which phones?

I've seen some threads regarding phones which no longer offer the "Lights ON" option when in the cradle. There was mention of EU directives (aka unwelcome interference and bureacracy!). As someone who currently uses a 6230i with this feature (in a CK-7W kit), I would like to have this feature again when I choose my next phone.
Can someone please provide a list of current/future phone models which will give the option of Lights set to permanently On (assuming any do).
I did download a couple of user guides for current models but under the Enhancements sections it only mentioned Default profile & Auto-answer
The other point to note is that I wil only choose a phone which has a compatible charging adaptor which therefore excludes all N-series models.

Think twice before you choose;
I have a E70 and a CK-20W carkit:
If I put the phone in the holder (with pop-port connection), it shows a car icon for a few seconds, while working properly.
But after a few seconds, the car icon disappears and nothing works anymore;
Sound is directed to the handset itself, bluetooth connections no longer possible.
With bluetooth it doesn't always work properly as wel. Sometimes I can't hear the other person on the line.
With an E60 you might experience simular problems since they basically have the same software.

  • How do I use attach a cradle tomy car kit & which ...

I've bought a car that's got a car kit built in but no cradle, the description says GSM/CK/NOK6110-NOKIA 5110/6110/6210/6310/7110 GSM CKIT.
What cradle would I need to get?
How would I attach it? and are there any new phones that would be compatible?
Is the 6110 the same as the 6110 Navigator and if so would that be like Sat Nav?
Sorry to bombard you with these questions but I've never had a car kit before.

There are Thunderbolt adapters you can use for the type of video port on your MB:

But you may need to upgrade its OS X version at least to Snow Leopard.
    Upgrading to Snow Leopard
You can purchase Snow Leopard through the Apple Store: Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard - Apple Store (U.S.). The price is $19.99 plus tax. You will be sent physical media by mail after placing your order.
After you install Snow Leopard you will have to download and install the Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1 to update Snow Leopard to 10.6.8 and give you access to the App Store. Access to the App Store enables you to download Mavericks if your computer meets the requirements.

  • 810 car kit/6310i phone

i have fitted this 810 carkit, when i switch it on the lights come on but no characters appear on display, when i try to connect my 6310i via bluetooth; display on phone reads
"no devices found" i have tried sim card in control box but got nowhere either. All wires are conected except for data cable. Any ideas what i am doing wrong.

There's no mention of your phone as being compatible with the 810 but the Nokia site will only mention recent/current models. There are mentions here of Contact Download Applications but again the 6310i is not mentioned. You can also navigate to some other stuff like user guides.

  • Car Kit problem with 6680

    Can anybody please assist me!
I have a CK-7W car kit which I have been successfully using until recently with a 6230i. Last week my phone was upgraded to a 6680 and was supplied through work with the CR-27 cradle. However, when this is connected to the existing cradle connector, I get the message 'enhancement not supported' on the phone.
    Any suggestions?Message Edited by phill_a on 15-Jan-2006

    Ok.
    I have now tried the CK-7W with my wife's Nokia 6100, just using the pop-port cable and it has similar problems;
    1. It thinks it is connected to a headset, not a car kit.
    2. The radio stays on "phone" mode.
I didn't actually try making a call on it, but it seems odd that the problems are similar with another phone.
With my 6680 and the CK-7W, the phone works fine via bluetooth, but again, thinks it is connected to a headset, not a car kit.
When I connect through the pop-port cradle (CR-27) the radio stays on "phone" mode and the phone thinks it is connected to a headset. If I try to make a call, the sound is terrible, with loads of echo and feedback.
Also, while I can "see" my HDW-2, I am unable to actually pair with it.
    What do I do?
I have bought the genuine Nokia accessories, and this phone seems unable to work with them. Plus the CK-7W seem unable to connect to either my 6680 or 6100 via pop-port.
    What can be the problem?
I am really annoyed with what is supposed to be a high quality product.
    Perhaps someone will respond?

  • Car Kit for 6121

I have a new Nokia 6121 phone. I also have a built in car kit which was for a 6100. Is there any way the car kit can be adapted to work with the 6121?
    Thanks.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

switch on the ignition, then search for devices, if your phone finds a ck-7w then connect to it, if not you may have a cark-126. do you have a nokia button on the dash?.

  • Car Kit for Nokia 8800

  • Car kit for N73

I have a Motorola bluetooth car kit which worked perfectly with my motorola phone, but I have real problems using it with my N73. I have to connect it manually ever time I get in the car and even then it doesn't work sometimes.
Can anyone recommend a bluetooth car kit that definitely works with the N73. I don't want to buy another one only to find it won't work either. From what I've read, the N73 can be fussy when it comes to bluetooth.
    Thanks.

You might be better off asking this question on the accessories board - there may even be an answer on there already.

  • Nokia Car Kit Adapters

    Hello,
We currently have Full Nokia Car Kits installed for the Nokia 6310i.
We have now moved to the Nokia 6021 (as we can't get the 6310i's anymore) which has a different connector and so does not work in the existing Car Kits.
I have been told that Nokia do different Phone Cradles, called the 7 Series (?) which can the swapped or slotted onto the existing cradles so the 6021's then work in the existing Car Kits (speaker / Mic / Charger).
Can anyone offer any help on what we would need to do to use the 6021's in the 6310i's Car Kits.
    Cheers
    Ian

You can buy an adaptor cable CA-55 which will allow you to fit a CR-23 cradle and will work ok with your existing CAR-K91 car kits. I would however advise you look at upgrading your kits to CK-7W car kits which will cost you a few quid more but will be compatable for the future where as the above option has limited uses and features and can be unreliable.
    Hope this helps

  • CAR KIT 6310i - ADAPT FOR 6230i?

I have a professionally fitted Nokia car kit for a 6310i - fitted about 5 years old.
Is there a simple way to adapt this for my new 6230i either wired-in or bluetooth?
Would be grateful for any advice from car kit experts out there

This may not work, if your 6310i car kit has old software then it will not work with 6230i, it will say 'enhacement not supported', if you do buy the above items make sure you can return them if they do not work. The only other solution is to buy a new CK-7W car kit which dosn't cost that much more for the bits and is guarenteed to work with your phone and future phones hopefully. The choice is yours.

  • Tomtom car kit and audio out

I have a Tomtom car kit which I've been happily using for a few months now. At Christmas I got a new car stereo that has an aux input which is great, as I can now play tunes from my iPhone through the car stereo. However, I can only hear calls through the stereo if I plug the aux cable into the phone itself, not the car kit.
Is this right, or am I missing something? It's slightly annoying, as I can't simply plug the phone into the cradle when I get into the car....I have to plug the aux cable in too.
    Thanks,
    Ed

You are absolutely correct, BUT I have done that at least three time and when I switch on the ignition the **** thing keeps coming up and I have to decline it. I may have to physically remove or disconnect the old bluetooth hands-free system.
    What do you think?

  • Upgrading a Car Kit from Nokia 6310i to Nokia 6680

I drive a Mercedes E320 which has a fitted car kit which takes a Nokia 6310i in a cradle. This works very well and is integrated to the car radio etc, it is not a Mercedes kit as it does not integrate to the Mercedes Command System (i.e. I can not push the button on the steering wheel to answer calls etc). I think it is Nokia Car Kit but I can not be sure as it is hidden under stacks of plastic and leather and it will be a devil of a job just to find the box.
Last year I upgraded to a Nokia 6680 (my trusty 6310i having decided to retire) and given the law on use of phone in cars I thought it about time I put a new car kit in the Merc, (I cant do with things in my ears, so headsets are out of the question). I have bought a CK-7W and the cradle for the 6680 but as it is going to be a difficult job to locate and replace the whole system (or expensive if I have the dealer do it) the question I want to ask is simple. Is it possible to just CUT the cables between the different cradles and thereby join the new 6680 cradle to the existing 6310i car kit, (I am quite proficient with a soldering iron and heat shrink tubing). OK, I know this is a bit Heath Robinson but if it will work then it will save me a whole load of time and inconvenience, or a whole stash of money as I don’t relish the thought of ripping out a Mercedes dashboard just to find the car kit
If it is possible does anyone know the cable colours (if they are not the same, between 6310i and 6680).
    Thanks
    David

    Hi
The new cradle (CA27) will not work with the old car kit (assuming its the CARK-91).
But If you can locate the CARK-91 control box behind the dash (my guess is that it will be near the radio of behind the glove box), there is no need for cutting/ joining of wires.
Autoleads make an adaptor from the old Nokia 6-pin to the new 4-pin connector.
Its simply then a case of replacing the phone cradle, replacing the control box with CK-7W, swapping the other connectors (mic, speaker), plugging in the converter, and away you go.
Search for "06-208B Autoleads Adaptors" in Google for the converter (be careful - there is another adaptor that is 4-pin to 6-pin

  • Car Kit 112 and Blackberry Curve

Can anyone assist? I have recently bought a Citroen Picasso which came with the Car Kit already installed.  I am able to connect car kit and phone but when I try to make a call, the system closes down after about 20 seconds. Up to that point everything appears to be working as it should. Any ideas and suggestions would be gratefully received.

This is a very old kit, and even if you could get it to pair there will be a terrible echo. Sorry to say but it's time to upgrade. A ck-100 will work very well with the Blackberry.

Hello jwink, In today's day and age hands-free phone usage is a must!  Upon review HTC does not have information regarding the compatibility with Hyundai vehicles. Here is a link to the compatibility chart: http://support.verizonwireless.com/pdf/bluetooth_car_kit/htc_droid-dna.pdf. Have you tried reaching out to your dealership or Hyundai to determine what information they have available? We certainly want you to be able to conveniently use your device while on the go and I apologize for any frustration.

  • E61 with 610 Car Kit

I have found a issue between my Nokia car kit and E61 Phone, when disconnected with the car kit 610 the phone will not show SMS message, missed calls, reminders, I have firmware version 2.0628.06.05 apart from this issue, the car kit and phone work fine. The only way I resolve the issue is to reset the phone after using car kit, issues with firmware or bug look like

This is an issue, Nokia should answer!
I am very much interested in the solution, because my desicion for a mobile phone depends on the compatibility with my NOKIA 610 car-kit. I will not change my car-kit.
