Ligthroom 2-open catalog- failure to relaunch   (using Win XP)

When I try to open (an exiting) catalog the dialog box telling me LR 2 must relaunch to open this catalog pops up and asks is that what I want to do. When I respond yes LR 2 closes but then it never re launches. I upgraded from LR 1.4 or the latest LR version. Anybody know what is going on ?

Hi
Are you sure that you entered the ADDRESS correctly? It seems that in hosts you wrote TC0239.NBTH and in tnsnames.ora and listener.ora you entered NBTH.TC0239.
Ensure that the executable for the server exists (perhaps "oracle" is missing.)
Error:     ORA-12545 / TNS-12545
Text:     Connect failed because target host or object does not exist
Cause:     The address specified is not valid, or the program being connected to
     does not exist.
Action:     Ensure the ADDRESS parameters have been entered correctly; the most
likely incorrect parameter is the node name. Ensure that the executable
for the server exists (perhaps "oracle" is missing.) If the protocol is
TCP/IP, edit the TNSNAMES.ORA file to change the host name to a numeric
IP address and try again.TNS-12545 "Connect failed because target host or object does not exist"

I can't connect to SQL*Plus as 'SYS' - Any suggestions as to what might be preventing me from connecting?
Do you have a password file?

  • Photoshop CS5 64 bit opens, 32 bit will not using Win 7 64 operating system

    Hi;
I have not any problems using CS5 64 bit and until now could use CS5 32 bit which I use because some plug-ins will not install to 64 bit CS5, but will to CS5 32 bit.
Now: I can open 32 bit CS5, but when I attempt to open a file (JPG) it shows in navigator but will not open in work space.
    Any solutions or ideas, please.

    Hi Joel;
Thank you for your heads up.  Being a 87 yr young stubborn Swede before I got your heads up reply, This solved my problem.
    >Opened Control panel>Programs & Features>Run program made for previous version of Windows>Program Compatibility>
Test compatibility for bthis program>Opens CS5 32 bit OK and everything works, also all 32 bit Plug ins work>click Exit> Opens back in Program Compatibility>
Click Next>Troubleshooting has completed>Click "Yes, save these settings for this program.
Success: Now 32 Bit version of CS5 is working perfectly

  • Opening Catalog Backup after computer failure

    Hi Folks
    I'm obviously a dunce..
I back my images and catalog up on a second internal drive and two external drives...
I recently suffered a complete PC failure which resulted in the boot drive(C:) needing to be replaced and all software reinstalled..
I am using LR v2.6 and thought that I could open LR and go to'
FILE / Open Catalog... / and then select the second internal drive which has all files intact and open the catalog...
    But when I select the required catalog I get the message;
    "Relaunch Lightroom with this Catalog?
In order to use this catalog Lightroom must close the current catalog and restart. Do you want to relaunch Lightroom with E:\Users\Justinted\Pictures\CatBackup\2010-01-08 0950\Lightroom 2 Catalog.Ircat? "
I then click 'Relaunch' but LR just closes down and does nothing???
What am I doing wrong folks?
    Cheers
    Just

    Thanks for the quick response...
That didn't work either but for some strange reason copying the entire contents to a different drive allowed me to open the catalog...
But now all the images are 'offline or missing'...how do I get LR to find the images?
    Apologies if this really simple...

  • Use of Open Catalog Interface (OCI) in ERP

    Dear colleagues,
I am not sure if this is the right forum to post this question but can we use Open Catalog Interface (OCI) without having SRM directly in ECC 6.0? If yes what are the prerequisites, customizing, licensing etc.
What we are planning is end users will select material(s) he/she wants to procure from a catalog from a portal (not an SAP portal) and once this is done purchase requisition will be created in ERP system.
    Regards
    Melih

ECC6.0 MM does support OCI.  This works on both the Purchase Req and PO.  You can punchout from MM and shop from an OCI compliant source such as MDM, supplier hosted, other catalog tools and then this informaiton is pulled back into the Purchase Req or PO.  OCI is delivered with ECC6.0 MM so there should not be any license issues.
Configuration is part of the catalog web service set up and this is where you maintain information such as URL, user id, password, etc.

  • Cannot open Catalog Manager and Job Manager on Windows 7 (11.1.1.6.2 BP1)

    Hi,
We recently upgraded to OBIEE version 11.1.1.6.2 BP1 and installed Client tools from the same version (downloaded from Oracle Support). Once installed, ODBC connections are created to connect to the BI Server and we are able to connect to BI Server using Administration Tool. But Catalog Manager and Job Manager are not opening.
Is there any setup missing to make Catalog Manager and Job Manager work?
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi,
It is a known bug. Please find the solution here.

  • Lightroom - Opening Catalog: DSC_1555.jpg.Ircat?

Something took place with my catalog.  I tried to switch to a training catalog while Lightroom was operating and the following took place.
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom has encountered a problem and needs to close.  We are sorry for the inconvenience.
I can't open Lightroom 3.3 at all.  I get this message in black and white   - Lightroom - Opening Catalog:Dsc-1555.jpg.Ircat on the screen
I click for more information and get the following.
    AppName: lightroom.exe AppVer: 3.3.0.10 ModName: msvcr100.dll
    ModVer: 10.0.30319.1 Offset: 0008d635
Please tell me how to fix this problem.  First problem I have had!!!!
And yes I did something else stupid.  I restored Lightroom using my trial software and now have Lightroom 2 and Lightroom 3.3 installed.  That was dumb.
I would appreciate an e-mail from support on this matter, as soon as possible.
Please ignor all the stupidity, and help me to correct the problem.  But I did back up my catalog 1/24/11

Can't open Lightroom 3.3 at all.  I get this message in black and white   - Lightroom - Opening Catalog:_3106660.ORF.lrcat

    ModVer: 10.0.30319.1 Offset: 0008d635
However, today I did fixed the problem (I think) and LR runs again as it  should.

  • Is OCI (Open Cataloge Interface) supported from MM or SD

    Hello.
My customer has installed SAP ERP, but do not have SAP SRM. We plan to implement a punch-out from SAP to a web site of Cisco with use of OCI.
I do find a lot of information about OCI related to SRM, but none related to ERP.
Does anybody know wether OCI somehow is support by ERP?
    Geir Sunde, tlf. +47 977 555 97

    Hi,
Open Catalog Interface is related to SAP SRM it is nothing to
do with SAP R/3.When we are using the Catalog for creating a
shopping basket this interface is the link between the Catalog
    and  the SRM server.
Please Post this message in this forum  in SRM general you
will get some Inputs but definitely it  is NOT supported by
    SAP R/3.
We plan to implement a punch-out from SAP to a web site of Cisco with use of OCI.
I think  you have to IMPLEMENT  -SAP SRM only

  • PCUI and OCI (Open Catalog Interface)

    Hi,
we want to integrate a external catalog into the PCUI application qutation. The goal is to take over the shopping basket of the catalog into a Quotation. The data which should be taken over are products out of the external product catalog. Therefore the open catalog interface (OCI) should be used. The external catalog sends the shopping basket selected by the user via a HTTP Post to a so called Hook-URL which is provided by the calling application (PCUI). The calling application (PCUI) will retrieve this POST and take over the data send by the HTTP Post.
My question is now if something like that is possible with PCUI framework?
    Thanks for your help.
    Regards,
    Mario

Thanks for the quick and succinct reply.

  • Lightroom 3.2-64 Bit. will not start -It said-opening Catalog:DSC0024.then shuts down

I have downloaded Lightroom 3.2-64 Bit . When i start the software it gives me the message" Lightroom-opening Catalog:DSC0024.JPG.Ircat"
Then a window opens and said " Adobe Photoshop lightroom 64-bit has stoped working. A problem caused this program to stoped working correctely. Windows will close the program and notifiy
you if a solution is available"
    I have a Windows 7 - 64bit
Any help getting Lightroom started would be appreciated.

Seems to be the following "classic" LR 3.x problem: http://feedback.photoshop.com/photoshop_family/topics/lightroom_3_4_1_64_bit_doesnt_work
In short: You tried to create a new catalog with the name of an existing JPEG file ("DSC0024.JPG"). Perhaps you wantet to open/import that file and accidentally used the wrong command (create new catalog). Solution: 1) Rename the file. 2) Start LR, let it create the catalog in a folder named as the original file, 3) close LR, 4) delete the newly created folder containing the new catalog, 5) Start LR again - it will probably ask you for your catalog (select the catalog you are really working with). 6) Re-rename your JPEG file again.
Edit: P.S: LR 3.2 is a rather old version. The latest update for 3.x is 3.6 (free of charge), download it here: http://www.adobe.com/support/downloads/product.jsp?product=113&platform=Windows (Note: This bug is not fixed in LR 3.6. It is fixed in LR 4).

  • Can't open catalog

Hi, new to Lightroom so bear with me. Since I'm using Lightrom on my own desktop as well as at school, I have the catalog stored on an externel drive. I've opened it up from the external drive using several differnet computers but just now it won't let me open the catalog saying "The Lightroom catalog named "Stephen+Catalog" can't be opened because it is currently open in another application." As far as I know it is not open anywhere else. Plugged the external drive into another computer and got the same error message. Makes no sense. Help! Thanks in advance.

  • Lightroom 4 is blank and won't open catalog

Hello, I am a new in this comunnity. I have been using Lightroom 4 for the past  year on my Mac but I did not use it for the past month. Yesterday when I tried to open it again, it opens but it is blank, no thumbnails or anything. It does not allow me to change modules. and when I go to "open catalog" and click on the folder my lightroom just quickly blicks but it continues to be blank. I read some forums on here and I deleted the .lock folder that was underneath my catalog in the finder, but nothing changed.
I did not find this problem that I am descibing in any forum, any help would be greatly appreciated. I am not very tech savvy, I wasn't even the one that installed lightroom on my computer so please bare with me
    thank you in advance

Have you tried to Reset the iPod -
Toggle the HOLD switch, make sure you don't see any red at the switch.
Press Menu and Center button for about 10 secs till the Apple logo comes ON, then select your prefered language.
If you are on Mac, then the problem is not iPod resource hogging by the Antivirus.
Yours is most probably hardware due to a dying iPod Hardisk or Battery.
    Battery
On standalone, (not using the iPod docking station)  how long does the battrey last? Should be 36 hours on full charge, when new, but if it has been on the Docking station for 2 years, the battery would be at its max recharge cycle, and would last a few hours only or less.
    Hardisk
Here is a link on doing disk diagnostic posted by tt2.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/2362776?start=0&tstart=0
For hardware issues like battery or hardisk, the community can't help you, so you got to bring it in to Apple or 3rd Party vendor for hardware replacement.
    Have a nice day!

  • Rman: can't open catalog

Hi, Completely new to all this rman stuff. Reading up in the Oracel Database 10g DBA Handbook which has a step by step on RMAN. I have failed at the first hurdle, getting error message "rman: can't open catalog" when I type "rman catalog rman/rman001" havingf set up the Oracle SID alreafy. If I type "rman" and nothing else the sessions hangs?
Any thoughts and advice most welcome.

    export ORACLE_SID
    export ORACLE_HOME
    export PATH
    export ORACLE_BASE
    Now Create RMAN catalog
    1. Create tablespace specific for rman catalog
    2. Create user schema specific for rman repository
    3. Grant connect,resource,sysdba,recovery_catalog_owner roles to rmanuser
    4. Now connect using RMAN utility
    rman target rmanuser/password@sid catalog rmanuser/password@sid
    5. On RMAN prompt now create the catalog using 'CREATE CATALOG' command
    6. Register database;
Now RMAN catalog is ready. If you start taking backup the information about the backup sets will go to the catalog in the schema that you created. Controlfile is the default repository for RMAN. You can work with RMAN witout catalog aswell. For advantages/disadvantages go to http://oracle.com/technology
documentation section and download RMAN documents.

  • "Lightroom -- Opening Catalog Studio Session-003.JPG.lrcat"

For more than two years I had no problems that were encountered using Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 3.2 (which was upgraded to Adobe PS Lightroom 3.6). Until last month I could not open my Lightroom v 3.6. with this message on the screen --- "Lightroom -- Opening Catlog Studio Session-003.JPG.lrcat"
To remove the cause which I believed was in the later version of Lightroom v 3.6, I uninstalled Lightroom v 3.6 and reinstalled the Lightroon v 3.2 from the DVD I purchased more than two years ago.
After reinstalling LR 3.2, I restarted my computer and after that I double-clicked the LR icon giving me this message: “Lightroom – Opening Catalog: Studio Session-003.JPG.lrcat”
In the box I saw this message:
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 64-bit has stopped working A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Close program

The name of the Catalog file indicates that you have inadvertantly selected a jpeg image file as a name for a new catalog. I am not sure the full and correct way to resolve the issue but I believe it includes removing the offending "inapproprately named catalog file".
Maybe someone else will provide some additional info. In the meantime if you could post a screen capture of the contents of your "user>(your name)my pictures> Lightroom" folder. This will assist.

Lightroom started acting slightly strange, not displaying certain images in the folder I was working on, for example.  I shut it down, but when I tried to start it again, it would not open using my normal catalog, and I had the message, "Unexpected error opening catalog".  It does let me open a different catalog, however.  What can I do to get my catalog working again?
