Like an idiot, i bought a game for an ipad and only have a macbook air. can i somehow get the game to play on my air? or have i just thrown $5.29 out of the window?!?

I recently bought a game for an "ipad", (thru itunes), when I only have a MacBook Air...I had seen where you could switch apps back and forth between devices, ad I thought I could do this. Is there a way to play the game on my Air laptop? Or did I just throw $5.29 out of the window? One more thing...it involved Facebook, and I don't belong...or want to belong!?
I want to play Jeopardy, Wheel of Fortune, etc. ON MY MACBOOK AIR!?!???

It may be a disk that only allows you to install Windows on your Dell computer and would not allow Windows to be installed on a Boot Camp partitition or as a virtual machine in an app such as VirtualBox on your Mac. No, it only mirrors changes to synced data. This includes mail, contacts, calendars, reminders, safari bookmarks, notes, iWork documents and data, and photo stream photos (assuming you choose to sync all this data). Changes to iTunes data such as music, apps, podcasts, etc., are not synced using iCloud. In your example, if you delete an app from one device it will remain on the other until deleted there too.

When select for PDF reader to use automatically to open PDF files I still get the window every time I want to download a PDF file. How to prevent stopping this.

Even when I highlighted in a seperate window that I want PDF open automatically with the PDF reader I always get this confirmation window to choose from. Is there a way to stop getting this confirmation window ?
To perform a test I had with IE browser that by default selected PDF reader it does not ask me each time which option to choose from.

In the search box, type pdf and wait for the list to be filtered. On the right side, what do you have selected in the drop-downs? Do any of them behave the way you want?
If the problem only occurs on certain sites, it's possible that the site sending a generic content-type header rather than a pdf-specific content-type header. Firefox doesn't look at the file extension to decide which program to use in that case, it simply lets you choose.

IPad and IPhone synced to different PCs how do I get the same music on both devices? I used one PC to put CDs on ITunes but these don't appear on the phone which syncs to the Mac.

I have 1 ITunes account but my IPad is synced to a Windows PC to download CDs onto my IPad and the Iphone is synced to the Mac. I was hoping that the CDs I'd put on the IPad from the Windows PC would automatically appear on my IPhone when both these devices were sharing the same Wi-Fi at home. This didn't really work very well and I've been left with the CDs showing on the list on my phone but when I try to play them, the different tracks keep scrolling fast and not playing. I've tried deleting them from the IPhone, but they just seem to retreat to ICloud.
I've tried syncing the phone to the windows PC but this has just resulted in an error and I think this may be what has screwed the music up on my phone. I would just like to be able to listen to my CDs on my phone.
Has anyone come across this before and resolved it?

Terminology check here. Do you really mean a "CD"? There's a difference in Cloud behavior between content from a physical CD you ripped (which only has Cloud content if you have iTunes Match) and an "album" you bought from the iTunes Store.

The above can get pretty complicated. You are probably best off by syncing both devices to a single library and/or updating the libraries on both computers to have the same content.

I don't know the specifics of iMovie as I don't use it but, almost by definition, an application for a Mac is much more powerful and versatile than an app for an iPad.

5GB is typically not enough space to download a movie. Often, movies take from 3 - 5 GB to begin with. The only option you have is to delete more things from your iPad. You can remove unused Apps, pictures, music, text message (messages with pictures can take up a lot of space), email messages, books, magazines etc.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

If you both have the same email account, there's no setting on iPad you can use. When a message is deleted, it's deleted from the mail account server, which will happen on both devices.

You mean the background movies and stills? These are available to you easily enough.
Add a template to your project and look in the assets tab, select an item and control+click on it. Choose 'Reveal in Finder' from there and you'll get to where it is located on your hard drive (they are all inside a series of package files in your library).
Some are not what you might expect, others make use of .pox files which are not editable at all, and others will have simple movies and masks...
Have fun, but back up everything before changing them!

If you cannot remember the passcode, you will need to restore your device using the computer with which you last synced it. This allows you to reset your passcode and resync the data from the device (or restore from a backup).
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

Install Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion Using Internet Recovery
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
Boot to the Internet Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND-OPTION- R keys until a globe appears on the screen. Wait patiently - 15-20 minutes - until the Recovery main menu appears.
Partition and Format the hard drive:
1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
2. After DU loads select your newly installed hard drive (this is the entry with the mfgr.'s ID and size) from the left side list. Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.
3. Under the Volume Scheme heading set the number of partitions from the drop down menu to one. Click on the Options button, set the partition scheme to GUID then click on the OK button. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Click on the Partition button and wait until the process has completed. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion. Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button. Be sure to select the correct drive to use if you have more than one.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet
if possible because it is three times faster than wireless.

Apple provides their framework for Windows to run on a Mac, a piece of software called a Hybrid MBR that bridges the gap between how Windows reads the drive partition table (MBR) and EFI/GUID partition table that Mac's use.
It doesn't mean Windows can't run on your Mac, a third party solution called rEFIt will also bridge the gap and allow booting of more that just Windows, Linux as well for a triple booting computer.
Your hardware has to meet the other requirements the second and third operating system needs as as being able to install drivers that will work for your hardware, especially the fans or they will run loud and fast by default.

This above is a advanced procedure which requires knowledge how computers and various operating systems, drive formats and so forth work.
I even admit I don't know everything myself, but I experiment on a separate piece of Mac hardware (out of warranty/AppleCare) designed for this purpose so in case something screws up I'm not taking down my only machine and can use the other to get online and find solutions.
There is a very high potential for losing your data if your using advanced/non-Apple methods to install Windows on your only Mac where Apple doesn't support it. Also one shouldn't be doing this on Mac hardware that is under AppleCare or warranty as it might be voided. Proceed at your own risk and education.
