Limewire + Itunes??

I recently had to nuke my computer and re-install everything. Though I have checked off the box in Limewire that says it will automatically download the songs into Itunes, none are showing up unless I find them and double click on them. It used to happen automatically. As soon as it was done downloading in Limewire it opened up in Itunes. Is the lastest Itunes messed up or am I missing something? HELP, this made life so much easier!!

So, let me see if I understand correctly... you wiped your hard drive clean, restored windows, reinstalled limewire, and never got itunes integration? are you currently using the latest version of limewire and itunes 9.0.2? if not, then there will be significant issues.

Lost library do to LimeWire

I have had itunes for probably less then a year and had around 773 songs in my library(20 were bought). I Dowloaded Limewire becasue itunes doesn't have some of the stuff i wanted. I have my audio stuff set on my computer so all audio opens with itunes. I started download songs from Limewire and when they were done i clicked to listen. Itunes opens up and this tab show up like when you hook your ipod up and it says ROBINS Limewire itunes. Now i'm sure that sounds fine but all the stuff i had included the stuff i bought from itunes got removed and now only the limewire songs are thier. i like itunes better than limewire but i really don't wanna import all those cd's again and where did my 20$ worth of songs go. Now i don't have what i payed for please help me out here

I won't get into the potential problems with p2p apps except to say:
Sometimes they can give you nasties that can do bad things to your PC.
Whil it is possible you picked up something like that, I think it more likely that the script in the application you were using just messed up iTunes and the music is still there.
The easiest will be to look for the purchased music. Do a search for files ending in ".m4p". Those are the purchased files. The rest end in either ".m4a" or ".mp3". This will let you know that the music is still there and give you an idea of where your computer keeps the music.
The default location for the music in iTunes is in your "My Music" folder. Open that, then double click on the folder called "iTunes". Inside that is a folder called "iTunes Music". In that is where iTunes stores all your music unless you changed the location.
Is it there?
To add it back, drag the folder called "iTunes Music" into the open iTunes program. iTunes will go through and add each song back.

Totakky confused!

Just got my 30g ipod as a gift. First I downloaded the software with the supplied disk. I have a Dell XPS computer with lots of space. When connected to my pc The "do not disconnect" screen stays on. I have downloaded songs onto my pc using limewire. itunes does not see my ipod when connected to my pc. also, I can't drag and drop songs from my limewire file onto my ipod. Please help an older (51) guy out!!!

I think there are a couple of problems happening here.
1. You're using Windows 98. See this article for instructions on using the iPod with Windows 98;

2. Using a file sharing program such as limewire to share copyrighted material such as music is against the law and it violates this forums terms of use to discuss illegal activity. I would suggest that after you get your iPod working on your computer, you actually purchase any music you want to load onto it.

My powerbook keeps shuttig down my apps

Im a newbie to Apple and this discussion board, please excuse if this a redundant question. My 12" powerbook keeps shutting down apps, from Safari, Limewire, iTunes, everything. It is also coming up with a black screen telling me to restart the computer at least twice a day. My powerbook is only a week old. What am I missing?

Sounds like you're getting sudden application quits and kernel panics. I'd either question the integrity of the disk or the RAM at first, since those are the easiest to check.
I'd boot from the Tiger DVD, and run Disk First Aid to see if there are any problems. If it reports there are no problems and doesn't need repair...or if it fixes some things and the problems persist, I'd question the RAM. If you have other disk utilities (such as Tech Tool Pro 4, DiskWarrior, et cetera), you may run those as well.
To check the RAM, remove the 1 GB RAM module (I assume you have a 1 GB RAM card and 256 MB built in?), and try to run. It will be much slower with only 256 MB of RAM, but we're checking for app quits and kernel panics. At this point, if the crashes stop and everything runs fine (albeit slowly), it's probably a bad (or improperly seated) RAM card.
I suppose there's also the potential for problems on the logic board, but let's hope that's not it as that's the biggest hassle to deal with. At least you're still presumably under warranty in that case.

Trouble streaming audio

There's some background info to give on this issue first.
Last week my internet connection had a brain ****. Opening a browser would just give me a strange page that appeared to be from Comcast (my ISP). The page told me to download a Comcast installer to get my account running, or something of the sort. Of course, I've had this account for months, so I did no such thing. And for some reason the Comcast logo was a pixelated, low-quality image. I didn't know if it was some kind of hacker thing or what. I had gotten a message from Comcast the day before or so, but it was an automated message that just said to call them, and I didn't feel like it since they didn't even say what the call was about. In addition to the browser thing, neither Limewire, iTunes, nor Thunderbird could connect.
I wasn't home for a couple days, and when I came back it had magically fixed itself. Except I can't stream audio--when I try to open a stream in iTunes, it pops up the "Connecting" window, and just keeps trying to connect until I click stop. And when I stream movies with the Quicktime plugin, the video plays but not the audio. Both iTunes and Quicktime play back audio from the HD fine. And every other program I have that requires and internet connection connects fine.
I have unplugged and replugged my cable modem, and looked around the System Preferences for anything amiss, but I can't figure out what the problem is.

That's called a "walled garden". You get stuck there if Comcast thinks your cable modem isn't allowed to connect up to their system for some unknown reason. That happened to me earlier this fall with an old Surfboard 3100 modem.
I had an old machine I felt like I didn't mind sacrificing if I had to, so I went ahead and downloaded their software. The funny thing is, it wouldn't finish provisioning the modem, I had to call them anyway. In the end, after other troubles with that modem, I just returned it to Comcast and got a newer one. It's been pretty good so far...
But what you described, the ugly logo, etc., all sounds like the "walled garden". Don't know why or how it magically fixed itself, though.
Your streaming problems almost sound like a Quicktime problem. Especially where you have video but no audio. You might try re-installing QuickTime and see if that helps.

I have downloaded music (not from iTunes - limewire) and it automatically is placed in the iTunes sharing folder. The only way I can listen to it is when LimeWire is connected.
Is it possible to move it from that folder and on to my ipod or at the very least move it into my library?
Please someone help, I am in desperate need!!

Find the folder to which Limewire saves the downloads. From there you can then drag the tracks to the iTunes window.
Don't Steal! Please make sure that all content (music, movies, etc.) you obtain from P2P networks is legal, not pirated. Most content on P2P networks such as Limewire is there illegally.

the way i do it, and im a perfectionist so this might not interest you. but i always want my music files organized. so i dont copy right into iTunes. I go to the original file location where iTunes has stored all the other music, and i create a new folder for the songs that i am putting into iTunes. Then after i put the music in that folder, i drag that folder into iTunes. This way, I always know where that music is if i ever want to transfer it to another computer.

OK. I downloaded limewire...and then i downloaded iTunes.The limewire comes with iTunes integration once you have both and when you do a folder comes up in ur itunes mainscreen about owners limewire tunes.Well i looked in the troubleshooting part and found out how to get that folder into my library so i could sort them into playlists because im not the only one that uses this computer(and you can't put them into playlists if they aren't in your library)so now once i did that and got my playlists sorted out, now when I download the new songs they go right back into my owners limewire tunes and not the library ... so it's like all that was for nothing.... PLZ HELP!!!!!!!!!!!

That's one of the weird things.. it recognizes it maybe 10% of the time. And usually, only after I do the two-button reset. Problem is.. since it won't charge above 2%, anytime I try to do a restore or anything like that using iTunes, my device shuts off and I lose whatever progress I'd made.
So, an update... after reading through a bunch of similar complaints (there are literally 1000's of them so there's NO WAY this isn't somehow ios7 related, thanks a lot APPLE ) I decided to try a restore in recovery mode. After 3 hours and several disconnections... I ended up having to just set it up as a new iPad, as the restore did nothing. Weirdly though... as I was doing the restore in recovery mode.. I noticed I'd gotten up to a 10% charge.. higher than it's been since September, so after setting it up as a new device, I turned it off and plugged it in using the wall charger. 2 hours later and I was up to 38%. Still not great, as my iPad, before ios7 could've fully charged twice in the amount of time it took for me to now get 28% more of a charge. And that's with a fully cleaned out device.. so that really ***** and I'm now more confused than ever.
But I'm gonna leave it overnight charging and see what I come up with tomorrow. Sadly, when I paid $600 for it in February, I never expected to have to play "wait and see" with it...

Does anyone know where I can find my music?!!! After upgrading my itunes with an automatic update I cant find my limewire libray that was in my itunes folder. I am a VERY GREEN Mac user. Basically I dont have a clue!

Can't Delete This LimeWire Item in iTunes

Someone else recently used my computer, and messed with my iTunes. There's a new icon under the 'My iPod' on the left side of the screen. It's just like the green 'Music Store' icon, but it's blue. It's apparently been used for Limewire downloads. I can't delete it, and I want to get rid of it. Please, can anyone help me?

The only way that I know how to fix this, becuase I had the same thing was that you need to have limewire on your computer. You should start Limewire and find the settings. It has to do with the sharing settings and at one point if you read all of it, it will say something about sharing with itunes. Just delete that part of it.

How do i get limewire downloads to update to my itune library automatically

i download music from limewire and i am trying to get my itune to recunize the new downloads. the only way it will go to my itunes is if i listen to it in my shared foler. itune is my defalt player.

Limewire library not compatible with version of iTunes

I have the latest update and now the Limewire folder won't open and I get a message saying it is not compatible with the version of iTunes. I also tried to download a song mp3, and it seems to download it, but I can't find it.

Although the Limewire software itself is not illegal, most, if not all, of the music you download using the software is being illegally shared. Because they often involve an illegal activity, questions regarding Limewire tend to get removed very quickly.
Support the artists whose music you enjoy; purchase legal copies.
