Limit address mail can be sent to

Is there a way to limit the addresses email can be sent to from Mail?
I want to set up Mail on some school computers so students can email photos to a web gallery, but I only want them to be able to send to that address. They will be sending from a .mac account and I don't want the account being used to send other emails.
Hope that makes sense.

Start by looking at the logs for an example. There will be some indication in the logs as to what happened to the message.
Depending on how busy your server is, this might be as simple as tail -f /var/log/mail.log while you send such a message from your mail client.

Help - since 15:00 this afternoon Port 25 timed out and no mail can be sent

Have been sending and receiving mail all day - suddenly with no warning or reason mail cannot be sent from either my account or my wife's (on the same computer using the same ADSL line. The message is that "This message could not be delivered......The connection "smtp.mac.com" on port 25 timed out. All outgoing mail is blocked.

Mail Can be sent but is never delivered

Hi,
I was following the steps below to make it so a message can be received without a subject. After completing those steps I am running into an issue with my messages not getting to the recipient. If I send a message it acts as if it's been sent but the person getting the message doesn't and I get no message saying it could not be delivered. On the other end, if someone send me a message, I never get it and they get no message that tells them the message could not be delivered. This happens will all users of the server (any email address for the server). Any guess at how to fix it or is a reinstall in my future?

Yes, this is a default in Snow Leopard's Postfix configuration (which is the provided MTA).
If you really, truly, don't want that, then see:

For the record, the change needed is:
edit
/etc/postfix/customheaderchecks
by commenting out the line:
/^subject: *$/ REJECT empty subject header
which is done by putting a "#" at the beginning of that line (no actual quotes) like so:
#/^subject: *$/ REJECT empty subject header
After which you should use the Terminal to issue:
sudo postfix reload
And check your logs (mail.log, system.log) for any errors in case you made a typo.
Please, do NOT use a GUI editor or if you must use TextWrangler (shareware) which will at least let you authenticate as admin and not botch the permissions on that file.
However it really is better to learn to use an editor like nano or better yet vi ...

You propably got the SMTP-server wrong. Every wifi-distributor, and every country has a different SMTP-server. Are you on vaccation in a different country? Try to look at your distributors homepage and see if you got the right settings.
You can't send an email from China when you are in the US.

OK, Keychain Access has three Keychains, two of which appear identical right down to Date Modified for each password) and a third called X509 Anchors.
Within each of the two apparently identical Keychains is a single POP3 password for my ISP with my email account number in the info box at the top (when I view the other two users's accounts in Mail preferences, their account numbers are the same as this but suffixed by _2 and _3. But, as I say, the only POP password appearing in Keychain Access is mine. Do you mean I should delete it?

Why do I get the message "Cannot send mail, the user name and or password for my email outgoing server is incorrect"? I use the same account, etc. on my iPhone and haven't any trouble sending mail.

If your email requires a password for the SMTP server you can set it up in the settings in the General mail setup. Some i.e Gmail require a password for SMTP.

No outgoing mail can be sent

After the iphone 5 update I can no longer send emails from my phone. I receive them but cannot send out. Also all my contacts were erased except for their
mobile numbers. I have an iphone 3gs.

I'm having a similar problem. I can receive from gmail, hotmail, and yahoo. I can send from gmail. I haven't tried to send from yahoo yet. But, I cannot send from hotmail.

In Mail, how do I make it so that email replies to me are sent to the email address from which I sent my original message?

I have two IMAP accounts set up in Mail, one work and one personal. The personal account also receives emails from a third account (but I have that set up through gmail's forwarding, not Mail). I am sending emails from my work account and replies are coming to this third account, which I don't want to happen.
How do I make it so that replies to me are sent to the email address from which I sent my original message?

Firefox doesn't store email addresses except as form data; data that you typed previously into Firefox.

Can't sent mail from outlook

I'm a mac.com acount user. for a long time.
This changed to me.com and later to Icloud.com.
Since my storage has been set lower on 5GB on 30 sept 2013 its not possible anymore to sent mail from outlook.
On the 30 sept we got a message to delete some files in the icloud because our memory was to high.
But after changing to enough space the problems did not go away.
error: 0x80004005 de bewerking mislukt.
I can receive all mails from all my .mac and .me accounts.
And I can sent mails from outlook .com, but I don't want to use that
Can someone explain what happened and how to make it work

Allan - Here's the other odd thing. Currently, I have my old mail account AND my new MM account both feeding into and out of Outlook. But since adding my MM acct. - even though I set it as my default mail acct. - the hierarchy tree of Outlook folders is still treating my old acct. as king and my new MM acct. as second class. I know, what's that mean? I have my overriding "Personal Folders" folder, with the sub-folders (in addition to customized ones I added) - all of these at the same level - 'Deleted Items'; 'Inbox' (for my old account); 'Junk E-mail'; 'RSS Feeds'; 'Sent Items' and "Search Folders". Then, below that, but at the same hierarchy level as "Personal Folders", I have my MM's root of an IMAP store folder that has as its name my email address, including the "@me.com". Under that, at the same level of importance as my 'Deleted Items', etc. for my old account is my MM account's "Inbox", "Junk E-mail", "Sent" (which, like I said, I created when I sent the first email from my newly created MM account), and "Search Folders"... that's it. If I delete an email from my MM acct., or am in the process of creating an email in my MM acct., I can only find it in the aforementioned "Deleted Items" or "Draft" folders, as my MM acct. doesn't have these. Is this perhaps one indicator of my sent mail synching problem? Or does one have nothing to do with the other? Does Outlook only provide one each of "Drafts", "Deleted Items" and "Outbox" that all accounts share?
