Limit contacts to phone numbers only

Is there a way to limit the contacts list to phone numbers only instead of having it list people by phone and all of the email addresses that aren't associated with email addresses?

  • TS3398 I have lost my contacts that were entered into my iphone in addition to those that are synced from my exchange account. Iphone is only showing email addresses, no contacts with phone numbers.

Two days ago my phone locked up and when I could access again, my contact list was only a few names and email addresses.  ALL phone numbers wiped from the phone.  I have been using google sync for three years to sync contact and calendar to gmail and then sync gmail to iphone, and it has been seemless.  I would think this was the problem, however the contacts and phone numbers that were added directly the phone are no longer on the phone either....which point to a phone problem.
I went home, to update but ended up having to "restore" from backup, which I did.  The contacts were visible for less than 24 hours, but then disappeared again the next day.  I have tried forums for google sync as that would solve a large amount of the contacts, but I still can't seem to find a solution for the other contacts added directly to the phone.
are there any new glitches/issues with the iOS 6 that cause this problem?
    phone is 3GS.
    thanks.

Do the numbers still exist in your google contacts?
Google recently terminated support for new configurations of gmail using Exchange Active Sync for unpaid accounts. In theory, existing configurations will continue to work, but there have been some problem reports.
I've seen several mentions of the problem you describe in the last few days and so far, they've gone unresolved as far as I can tell. The root cause may be in google's termination of AES support.
Facebook contact sync may also be a suspect.

  • How can I print all my contacts including phone numbers from iCloud

I used to be able to print all of my contacts including phone numbers etc from iCloud.  Since all the upgrades I can not do this.  I used to be able to change the display by clicking on a ribbon at the top then clicking the gear to have it print.  No ribbon any more and no way to change the display.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  Thanks.

Thanks again Ferd. I looked up equivalent of command key on Dell keybrd. It is Windows insignia, however that didn't work. I selected all with the pop up menu by right clicking, which accomplished the same thing, however when I tried to print, it would only print out a couple of names per page and no add'l info. I stopped the printer and tried manually highlighting and selecting all with the same printing result. I finally gave in and called Apple support. After explaining my problem, while I was on hold, I thought I would try the process using Google browser instead of I.E. Guess what, IT WORKED!! All that hassle because of Internet Explorer.  I now can print (or print to .pdf file to save) any time. I do appreciate your input that would have worked with the interpretation of the command key had I not used IE. live and learn. :-)

  • Are phone contacts with phone numbers automatically backed up

Are phone contacts including phone numbers automatically backed up in icloud?

Yes, but restoring them from a backup can be difficult and isn't officially supported by Apple.  To make sure you have them backed up, use an app like My Contacts Backup on your phone to back them up as a vCard attachment to an email.  Send the email to yourself an save the attachment.  If you ever need to restore them you can email the attachment back to your phone and tap the attachment to restore them to your phone.

Hopefully you backed up that info on your Mac or PC. Do a restore and they should all come back. If you have an iCloud account you can recover them from there as well.

  • Retrieving contacts and phone numbers

The screen on my phone is broken so I can't access any of the information on my phone. I need the phone numbers for work and its very important that I can get them back. The lady at the phone store wasn't able to retrieve the numbers, but told me to get on here and it would work if I hook a cord up to the phone. I never updated my account or had an email account associated with my phone and updates on this site. How can I get the numbers back?

    Hello E_J,
    Welcome to the community,
If you had earlier copied the contacts to Sim card then can get as much contact you had saved from Sim card,
You are saying that you can't access it cause of broken screen but if you can Turn On the device then I think you will
be able to get your contacts by mean of Blackberry desktop software but of course you need a usb cord.
You can download the latest desktop software for windows from here how to download latest desktop software for windows
And for mac computer hereInstalling the latest desktop software for Mac computer
So with the help of desktop software you can get your contacts back.
    Good Luck.

  • Contacts  - Formatting Phone Numbers

Can I turn off the automatic "formatting" of phone numbers in Contacts?
Many of my contacts are in other countries and I would like to use the format
that is common to each country. Easier to remember, etc!

  • My contact's phone numbers have all gone, but their email addresses are still in my contact list. How do I get all those phone numbers back?

I am needing help with my iphone contacts..
When I look into my contacts, everyone's email addresses are there, but all the phone numbers I had are completely gone. Does anyone know how this could have happened, and what I do to get them back?

  • VCF contacts dropping phone numbers

    N95 8G
    PC Suite 7
I've had no luck importing .CSV files into the contacts so have resorted to .vCF files.
I've got all the .vCF files in a folder on the desktop and when I open sample ones all the info is there.
When I import into the contact manager they all go in and virtually all the informaiton is there except for phone contact numbers - office, home, mobile - all gone.
The numbers are definitely there in the original .vCF files - this appears to be an odd case of the contact manager failing to read/import any .vCF phone numbers.
    Any thoughts ?
Is there an option that I'm not checking ?

Anybody any ideas on how to get some contacts into the N95 8G ?
Contacts are currently stored in a Yahoo address book - my export options are .csv and .vcf.
Despite the promises, the contact manager doesn't like the .csv format and drops the phone information off .vcf.
    Any thoughts ?

  • If I delete phone numbers and contacts from my phone, and I go synch up and back up my phone to computer, will I get the contacts and phone numbers put back on my phone again

If I delet contact/phone numbers from my iPhone and then go to back up my iPhone in iTunes, will it put them back in my phone>  if so, how do I get rid of those contacs.number out of the stored info on the computer?
    Kris

it depends on whether or not the contacts are in a contacts program on your computer and where they are on your phone. if they're on your phone in icloud, then no. if they're on your phone from an email account, then no. if they're on your phone in a group called 'from my pc' or 'outlook' or something like that, then yes, by default, they'll most likely come back to your phone from your computer

  • Outlook contact "other" phone numbers not syncing.

It seems when I have multiple phone numbers in an Outlook contact other than work, home, mobile, and other; these phone numbers aren't syncing to the iphone.  These are numbers that, in Outlook, you have to click on the field to select and see the other number.
For instance, say I have a contact with a work, home, mobile, and other phone number.  In Outlook, I want to add a Home 2 phone number.  So I click next to the home field in Outlook and select "Home 2" and then enter a number.  Now I have both numbers stored in Outlook, Home and Home 2, albiet I have to toggle between the two to see them.
These are Exchange activesync accounts and I have replicated this with both Exchange 2003 and Exchange 2010.  Outlook 2010 is the other side of the equation.
Home 2 doesn't come over to the iPhone. And it not just "Home 2", that was used as an example.  It's essentially, it seems, any numbers that you add beyond the four fields available in the Outlook contact.  I would really be surprised if it wasn't capable of syncing this.  Am I missing something?  Anyone else having the issue or successfully dealing with it?  TIA.

I saw that post and i had to reply for it.
A little-great-working solution for that is to run those 3 lines (one line at a time) on powershell and all the "Other" lable contacts will change to "Mobile" label and here you go, like a magic - all contacts phone numbers are now visible on the phone again.
(Drop the 1. 2. 3. from the lines of course)
    Hope i helped someone
    1.     $outlook = new-object -com outlook.application
    2.     $contacts = $outlook.Session.GetDefaultFolder(10)
    3.     $contacts.Items | % { if($_.MobileTelephoneNumber -eq "") { $_.MobileTelephoneNumber = $_.OtherTelephoneNumber; $_.OtherTelephoneNumber = ""; $_.save() } }

  • 2 contacts have phone numbers mixed up on iPhone

I have 140+ contacts in MobileMe and have just come across a very worrying and frustrating issue.
Two contacts that I use regularly seem to have swapped numbers on my iPhone 4.
They are correct on my Mac, on me.com and on my iPad. All devices are synced via MobileMe and cannot work out why they are displaying and dialling the wrong numbers from my iPhone. This is compounded by the fact they are both medical numbers that I really upon for easy access and are stored in the favourites on my iPhone.
Apart from being mystified and worried as they are important numbers, I have to wonder if any others are messed up to and how this came to be.
My phone is a vital piece of equipment as I am a carer and I can't have this sort of thing happening
Is this a known issue and is there a fix?

        Hi Aldofaldo1,
The message from Ann154 was correct. Due to both phones having the same size SIM Card and the SIM Card being the one carrying the number, a simple swap of cards will swap the color of the phone between the two. I have tested and verified this works. The "Aging" process you spoke of is used for placing a new number to that specific SIM Card.
For example: Your husband has the iPhone 5 with nano SIM and you have an Android with micro SIM. You want your husband to have your Android and you want to have the iPhone 5. You can't just move the SIM cards as they're different size so then you need to change the number on the SIM.
This aging process doesn't apply to you so no need to be concerned. If in the future you need to review the process, just visit

  • TS2776 Hello. I attempted to sync my iPhone this morning and get updates. I can no longer access anything on it now. No contacts, no phone (emergency only), no apps, etc. Its a grey screen that simply says iPhone.  What happened and how do I retrieve ever

Hello, I attempted to sync my iPhone and get updates. Something went wrong. There is now only a grey screen that simply displays "iPhone" and then leads me to Location services to either enable or disable  or to choosing a WiFi network. I have a MIFI, but cannot rememer the password. How do I get back to my phone (I can only make an emergency call), my apps, and all else? Please help!

Sounds like you restored your phone as new.  If you follow all the steps, there a section that allows you to restore from a backup either through icloud or itunes.
You do have a backup of your phone right?  If you don't then all is gone, but you can sync back your apps and music.

  • HT201401 Missing contact information - phone numbers etc

    Hello!
Last weekend most of my contacts dissapeard from my iPhone. Has this happened to anybody else? Is there a way to find them again? I have not saved any contents on my iPhone on a computer, iCloud or similar. Thanks in advance! Helena

    I have a similar problem.
I have two iPhone 3Gs with iOS 4.0.1 which, when synching via iTunes on my iMac, do not synch a lot of the information in my contacts.
For example, I have a lot of information in my Notes field in Contacts. Only the first 4 lines, or thereabouts, synchcronises to the iPhone contacts. Same for both iPhones.
    Is this an iOS4 issue?

  • Contacts and phone numbers

I am very disappointed with my Z10. I wonder if this was tested on business people or youngsters who want to game. One of the most important functions on my old Blackberry was I could see who was calling me and it was EASY to put new telephone numbers into my contacts and also recall the name and number on my telephone log. Now I see why BB is losing loyal BB users. I would fire a bunch of people who overlooked this IMPORTANT function. FIX IT BB.

Overlooked what? I think you might be jumping the gun on something.
CalledID of the name of the person calling you. Check, works.
Add a new number from a number which called you, to your Address Book. Check, works..
Pull up the Call Log and redial a number from previous incoming and outgoing calls. Check, works.
What exactly is it that you need, that isn't working?
