Limit Finder to only search the drive selected in Sidebar?

Hi, How can I get Finder to only search the drive selected in Sidebar?
I've been given a CD with lots of pictures on it, organised into 20 folders with further sub-folders. I KNOW there is a movie in there that I need to put in my presentation.
I select the CD drive in sidebar and type .MOV into the search widget. Finder then returns all the .mov files on the HD.
I just want to quickly scan through the .MOVs on the CD. Is there a way to do this?

After you enter your search term and the search results window is open you will find a tab bar in the window. Click on the CD tab which will then present the results for the CD instead of your hard drive.
Spotlight defaults to the startup volume until you click on the tab for the desired drive, folder, etc. It's aggravating, and it's been reported to engineering. So far the behavior has not been "fixed." Maybe in a future release of OS X.

I have 3 Lacie external HDs connected via firewire with a lot of files. When I want to do a finder search it only searches the main HD and not the other HDs connected. Is there any way to make finder perform a search on all the HDs attached?

So it does not give you the option to search them? I have a LaCie that is formatted for Windows and it still searches it. Try adding the drives to "Spotlight" on System Preferences pane. That's my only guess....never heard of this before

Sure can.
With a document open in Pages, select to print so that you can see the print dialog as shown below.
Note that to see this view, you may need to press the Show Details button in the bottom left corner. In the image above, since I have the expanded view displayed, this button changes to Hide Details
So with the view shown, first change the Presets menu to Default Settings. Then click the Layout drop menu and select Quality & Media. Make the changes you want and then click on the Presets menu and select Save Current Settings as Preset...
At the next window, give the Preset a name and select the Only this Printer radio button and then click OK to save it. That's it.
As for the Preset that you already have, if you no longer want this preset then you can delete it via the Show Presets menu pane that you've used already.

You probably have Primary Selection only on.
Aperture identifies the images you’ve selected by displaying them with a white border. When you select a group of images, the actively selected image, called the primary selection, appears with a thick white border and the rest of the selected images appear with thin white borders.
Primary Only button: Click this button to make changes to the primary image selection only.

I am having this exact issue. I just downloaded a book and went to open it and got this exact problem.
I purchased he book through indigo/kobo edition and paid for it and immediately went to open it and am getting the same error
Error getting License. License Server Communication Problem only mine says Bad Device key after.
Not sure why someone has not answered this question yet...i am using windows 7 and this is how i always do it. Never had this problem before when purchasing a book.

Well, yes, in the sense that simplicity has a price: it comes at the cost of reduced functionality. (If all the functionality were still there, things wouldn't be as simple; it's an inevitable trade-off.) Sure. But almost all that effort went towards creation of the content, not towards laying it out with IBA (which was remarkably easy). So, in that sense, IBA more than met my expectations. The things it does do, it by and large does really well, and without much expertise needed on my part. The only thing that was complex was the HTML widget, which took some programming. I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. Firefox 4 and later versions save the previous session automatically, so there is no longer need for the dialog asking if you want to save the current session. 
Use "File > Exit" or "Firefox > Exit" (Mac: "Firefox > Quit Firefox") if you want to restore multiple windows. 
You can use "History > Restore Previous Session" to get the previous session at any time. 
You may need to click the orange/gray Firefox button to see History. 
There is also a "Restore Previous Session" button on the default about:home Home page.
Another possibility is to use:

Time machine only mounts the drive to Finder. The Program doesn't open. What is missing here?

Selecting <Time Machine> <enter time machine> on my Mac Air brings up a dialogue <connecting to backup disk>. The disk appears <mounted> on the desktop as a icon and shows as a connected drive in Finder. It doesnt open into the Time Machine interface that I expect and which used to work. Is there a simple fix here?

Sorry, you have lost me.
If you open AirPort Utility and click the Disks tab, what do you see there?
Next to Partitions, you should see "Data" which is the default name of the Time Capsule drive.....or.....if you have renamed "Data", you will see the name that you have assigned to the drive. In the example below, I have renamed "Data" to read "Backups".
Are you saying that you made previous backups at one time to the drive, then changed the name of the drive?

Finder will not search network drive

I am connected to a network with my MacBook Air running Mountain Lion and when I attempt to search for a file on any of the network directories, Finder indicates it is searching, but no results are ever produced.
Sadly, today I started up an old Windows laptop, went into Explorer and within seconds was able to find the document.

The folder is not indexed by Spotlight. Open the Spotlight preference pane and check the Privacy settings. If the folder, or a parent folder, isn't listed, add it to the list and then remove it to rebuild the index.

Finding roadnames is usually a questions of two simple issues.
1 - make sure you actually have digital maps installed on your phone.
2 - make sure you enter sufficient data, correctly spelled, to enable Maps to find the location.
Since you say you've typed it in correctly, I tend to agree with cjlim. Make sure you have the correct maps installed. I'm in the UK, and I entered your address on my N97, and it was found in about 10 seconds.

Field to make uneditable only for the current/selected row

I have a web dynpro application and I wanted to make some fields uneditable and for this I have done the following:
I bound a context attribute to the readOnly property of all the fields you want to control. Then in the onEnter event of the main field, I set the value of this bound context attribute to ABAP_TRUE to change the state of the corresponding UI elements.
I have written the following in the onenter event of the main field:

Now the issue is that when I hit enter on the main field all other fields gray out/uneditable for all the rows, what I want is the other fields should be greyed out only for the row where I am entering the main field and hit enter.

You are not getting it. When you have only one context attribute and bind that to all the rows/columns of the table then everything will be enabled or disabled.
In your case, create a local node with cardinality 1:1 inside the node you already have.
Write a supply a function for this node.
Add a attribute read_only of type wdy_boolean.
bind this attribute to the read_only property of the table columns.
in the supply function based on the element conditions you might have enable this attribute of disable.
supply function method already has the necessary code , you only need to enable the commented lines and put your if ..end if code around it.

While using Windows 7, itunes64setup.exe is shown as down loaded but, i can not find it when searching the computer. Whats up?

Why put applications only onto the drive with the os

when I install applications (office for mac 2011) it would only allow me to load it onto the drive with the os (lion Server) is there a way around this i wanted to isolate the os so if i needed to wipe it I would not lose any other applications

Generally re-installing the OS will not overwrite 3rd party Apps in the /Applications folder. The only way this would happen would be if you completly erased the disk. My advice would be to make a bootable clone of the entire drive using Carbon Copy Cloner instead.

well, there's no switch you can flip to have such behavior, but you can:
1. supervise the param, so whenever the user changes the value you can keep
the X and restore the Y. (won't hold water in case of keyframing or
expression)
2. set an expression that would do the same.
3. check the param at some events (such as the render call), and modify the
keyframes and values if necessary. (won't handle expressions)
that's all i can think of.
