Limit of pictures for slideshow?

Hi.
Is there a limit to how many pictures you can have for a slideshow using Front Row? I just created a slideshow from iPhoto (latest version) with 1200 pictures. Then when I played it it just stopped after so many and the screen went blank.
Any suggestions as to how to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Which transition were you using that didn't work? I could try it myself to see if I can reproduce the issue, but I'd have to know what you were doing and make sure we both had the same versions of all the software. Perhaps it was only a temporary glitch? Can you switch the transition back to the one that didn't work and see if it's still not working? Again, I would wonder if it doesn't stop on the same picture each time.

  • How to Set Item limit for Picture library Slideshow webpart in SharePoint 2013

    Picture library Slideshow webpart is using the default view "All Pictures" and if I set a filter condition in the view, the images are displaying based on it but if I set an Item limit as "5" or any number in the "All Pictures"
    view it is not reflecting in the slideshow webpart.
    Any suggestion would be a great help as the users want to see only the latest 5 images in the slideshow webpart.
    Thanks & regards,
    Asha

    I don't think so there is any way to set a item count limit on Picture Library Slideshow web wart.
    Web Part setting only allows to provide library and View, In List view also you can only set Item Limit to be shown on the 'List View'. Slideshow web part take all the items in the list and show, view is only used to provide which field needs to be shown.
    There could be 2 options:
    - Write a JavaScript to limit the count, and in the view add Sorting by 'Created' date. You can get some example on how to modify "Library Slideshow web part" javascript here: http://blog.vgrem.com/2013/04/27/beyond-the-slideshow-web-part-capabilities-in-sharepoint-2010/
     This link does not have solution of what you want, but it gives a very well idea on what you can look and modify. It will not be that straight forward for sure.
     - Create a custom webpart, it could be a easier approach. As there are many slideshow Javascript library present, and through code you will just need do a query and pull data from library with required number of items to be shown.

  • How do i unlock pictures for my slide show?

    how do i unlock pictures for slideshow? do i have to save them? where?

    Which operating system are you running on?
    Which version of Photoshop Elements are you using?
    If you have made changes to a photo, those changes have to be saved before you can use that photo in a slideshow. Where you save it is really up to you.
    Do you use the organizer and import all your photos into it? Please note that Elements itself does not keep a copy of your photos - you always have control over where the photos are stored. The elements organizer just saves the links to your photos.
    If you have selected a photo in the organizer and then selected edit, the editor will open and you can make your changes. While the photo is open in the editor, it is marked as locked in the organizer. When you have finished editing the photo, save it and the close it in the editor. The lock in the organizer is then released.
    I hope that helps you. If you still have a query, please tell us how you are working and we may be able to provide other advice.

  • Amount of pictures allowed for slideshows?

    Hello everyone. I was wondering if someone might be able to help me with my question. I'm thinking about buying photoshop elements 8. One of the main reasons is for slide show making. Does anyone know how many pictures can be downloaded per slideshow? Also, how many songs can be downloaded per slideshow. I've been using Photostory, and they only allow 300 pics max. I was just wondering if photoshop elements 8 allowed more?
    Also, while I have you here, is this program good for slideshows, or would you reccomend a different program?
    Thanks so much in advance for all of your help!
    Rich

    I have used Photoshop Elements to make slideshows - but I would not say that it is good for making slide shows and I would not recommend purchasing it specifically for making slide shows.
    -- I don't think there is a specific limit on the photos in a PSE slide show : however, many people do encounter effective limits based on the hardware and software configuration of their PC/laptop. There have many posts on these forums where people failed at 200 - 300 photos.
    -- You did not say how you will use this slide show. You should be aware that if you wish to create a TV playable video DVD (MPEG2) you most probably will need to also purchase Adobe Premiere Elements.
    I suggest that you also post your question on another forum like elementsvillage.com which has photo and slideshow discussions about software other than the Adobe products.  ProShow Gold is a product I have seen recommended and hopefully someone at elementsvillage forums can give you guidance . I suggest that you post in their General Elements Discussion subforum.

  • On Apple TV, my pictures have loaded, but I cannot get the slideshow function to work.  It has been "loading" 28 pictures for over 5 minutes.  What is wrong?

    On Apple TV, my pictures have loaded, but I cannot get the slideshow function to work.  It has been "loading" 28 pictures for five minutes.  What am I doing wrong?  I have Windows 7 on my PC.

    I don't have any direct experience with D-Link equipment, but I may be able to provide some general advice. See if you can use a Web browser to connect to the D-Link's configuration screen. This probably involves visiting a URL such as http://www.192.168.0.1 . If you haven't changed the sign-on parameters, a quick Google search should find them for you.
    Once there, note as many configuration details as you can find. You'll need those to configure your Time Capsule.
    Use the AirPort Utility to configure the Time Capsule.
    One last thing: It's quite possible that the Verizon network will have locked onto the "MAC" address of your D-Link router. Something needs to be done to reset this. If there's a separate box at your house that came with the FIOS equipment that's "upstream" from the D-Link router, I'd cycle power on it to see if that does the job. Otherwise you'll probably need to call Verizon to ask them to reset things once your Time Capsule is installed in place of the D-Link router.

  • Some pictures in slideshow are pixilated

    I'm making a slideshow in Aperture (3.2.2) on my iMac (3.4 GHz Intel Core i7, Memory 16 GB 1333 MHz DDR3) running Mac OS X 10.6.8, and some of the photos that were transferred from a CD-ROM, and some that were recently transferred from an SD card are pixilated!  I've done many slideshows before, and have never experienced this.  The File size of the image doesn't matter.  Some of the larger megapixel images are very pixilated, while some of the very small images (356 K) are not.
    It's also happening in iPhoto.  Also, when I move a photo from Aperture to iPhoto, the file size is reduced dramatically.  Why does this happen?
    I am hoping that someone out there has a simple solution for this!  Time is of the essence!

    Stan,
    This completely seems like a case of not having enough resolution in your pictures for the purpose at hand.
    It's possible that the slideshow is stretching some of the photos and not others.  If I remember right, portrait photos in a slideshow will be letterboxed, with black on either side of the photo so you can see all (or the majority) of your photo on the screen.  A photo of the same size, but landscape orientation, will take up the whole screen.  Thus, the portrait photo will be shrunk, or alternately (depending on the sizes we're talking about), the landscape will be blown up.  Any time you blow up a digital photo, it wil be pixelated.  That's the only thing I can think of in terms of your landscape versus portrait.
    Your photos are very, very small.  It sounds like they are actually thumbnails, or from a very early digital camera when photos that matched the pixel dimensions of the monitor were ok.  Your monitor is probably 1.2-1.5 megapixels, so any photo smaller than that runs the chance of not having enough detail to look good.
    As for the 0.8 MP and 0.7 MP comparison in your email, I'm guessing that you are talking about JPEGs.  JPEG is a lossy format, and when the file is created, the creator of the file determines how much information to throw away.  It's possible that there was too much information thrown away (maybe to get to a certain file size) to recreate a good-looking photo.
    One thing to try -- open one of the bad-looking photos in Preview and look at it with 1-1 zoom.  That will show you how large the photo really could look on your monitor without being "blown up."

  • Eliminate White Space in Picture Library Slideshow Web Part

    On my site, I am using picture library slideshow web parts on two different pages, and one of them is giving me trouble with unwanted white space between the photos and the back, pause, forward control buttons (see photo below).
    In an attempt to resolve this issue, I have tried numerous things. I have resized the width and height of the web part itself to many different sizes, but to not avail. I have cropped and resized all of the photos to be the exact same size of 300x200
    pixels. I have used CSS to display the photos to their actual size rather than the standard preview size. With all of this in mind, my second photo library web part on another page works perfectly. This was white space problem was only an issue until
    I resized/cropped the photos in that case. For this page, however, that solution is not working.
    Does anyone have any clue as to how I can remove this unwanted white space?
    Thank you!

    Hi Stacey,
    From your description, you would like to remove white space in picture library slideshow web parts. You used CSS to solve it however a web part still show white spaces.
    Please press F12 and see if there is div tag in white space, if there is, try remove it.

  • How do I sequence pictures in slideshow or movie

    how do I sequence pictures in slideshow or movie

    If delivering your content from an LMS, there should be an option to play the content in a separate browser window...without toolbars.  This makes it a lot easier to predict what size you need to build your course.
    After factoring in all the variables and using trial and error on a number of systems, with and without LMSs, I've found a size of 995x627 to be almost ideal.  It's big enough to display most software apps and websites, but small enough to be viewable by users on 1024x768 systems.
    You have to remember that if you have a significant number of end-users on 1024x768 and that's the lowest common resolution you need to build for, then you CANNOT make your screen size 1024x768.  You have to build smaller to allow for toolbars, browser chrome, etc.
    One of the first things any wise elearning developer does when they begin a project, before they start creating content, is to survey their user base and find out what constraints are imposed within which they need to work.  Things like monitor resolution, Flash-player version, LMS, bandwidth all play a part in the success or failure of your project.  Find out early rather than later.

  • Image Quality for Slideshows

    Hello Everyone. I just purchased Photoshop Elements 9 and I have just joined the Adobe Forum. I am an amateur photographer with a challenge. I am creating slideshows for family, and before I go any further, I need to get some questions answered about quality. I have scanned old photos to my computer. I have scanned old negatives to my computer. I have digital pictures on the computer with varying ranges of size and quality. When these are imported into a slideshow program to be put on DVD, what kind of sizing and pixels per inch do I need to use so that when the DVD is played on a TV, (for instance, my brother has a HDTV that is 46"), the quality of the photos remain good for that size of a screen?  Another example would be a slideshow of my trip to the desert where I shot a couple hundred photos, and when I made the DVD, some of the images appeared pixelated, and/or noisy. The pictures were shot with a Nikon D50 3008x2000 pixels, 300dpi 24 bit depth jpegsRGB. The size of the original file is 2.78MB. I would appreciate any input on this. Thanks so much. Arthur

    Is the image quality improved for slideshows using the new Pro Encoding option in iDVD08? For me, the quality was unacceptable in previous versions
    iDVD '08s Pro Encoding mode won't improve things if your total DVD size is under 60 minutes (for a single layer disc) and can use Best Performance mode encoding.
    Best Performance uses a encoding bit-rate about as high as a DVD player can handle on playback. The Pro mode advantage will 'kick in' when you have content over 60 minutes. Best Quality simply picks a fixed encoding rate necessary to fit 'standard' content into the space available. The Pro mode will look at your content first and can assign a high encoding bit-rates for content with lots of detail or movement and a lower encoding bit-rate for content with less detail or movement. Pro modes highest encoding bit-rate shouldn't exceed the fxed encoding bit-rate used by Best Peformance.
    For slideshows, you must keep in mind that the DVDs we can make today are low resolution devices - NTSC discs are less than 640x480 pixels at best (that's less than 0.3 megapixels) - so your great 10 megapixel digital images MUST loose a lot of detail in the encoding process.
    FWIW - I recently made several large slideshows using FotoMagico that I felt gave me better quality than iMovie or iDVD directly. Others like Photo to Movie. Both offer free trial versions.

  • How can I fix the image size in a "Picture Library Slideshow Web Part"

    When I upload images to be used in the Slideshow Web Part they become skewed because they are different sizes. Is there a way to fix this besides uploading images that are all the same size?
    Thanks,
    Kathleen

    http://webcache.googleusercontent.com/search?q=cache:bfUcFkD_bxgJ:spcodes.blogspot.com/2012/08/display-slide-show-images-within-fixed.html+&cd=4&hl=en&ct=clnk&gl=in
     Display Slide Show Images within fixed size
    The Picture Library Slide Show Web Part show the images stored in a picture library with slide show effect.
    This slide show web part displays the images with it's original size. Due to this the web part changes its size according to the image size. If we want the slide show to run within the specific size on the page then we need to control the size of the images
    to the fixed length during runtime.
    To achieve this we need to add the CEWP above the picture Library Slide Show web part & insert the following script in that web part.
    <style type="text/css">
    .ms-WPBody TD {
        PADDING-BOTTOM: 0px; BORDER-RIGHT-WIDTH: 0px; MARGIN: 0px; PADDING- WIDTH: auto !important; PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; BORDER-TOP-WIDTH: 0px; BORDER-BOTTOM-WIDTH: 0px; HEIGHT:
    auto !important; VERTICAL-ALIGN: middle; BORDER-LEFT-WIDTH: 0px; PADDING- 0px
    .ms-WPBody TD DIV {
        PADDING-BOTTOM: 0px; BORDER-RIGHT-WIDTH: 0px; MARGIN: 0px; PADDING- WIDTH: 100% !important; PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; BORDER-TOP-WIDTH: 0px; BORDER-BOTTOM-WIDTH: 0px; HEIGHT:
    auto !important; VERTICAL-ALIGN: middle; BORDER-LEFT-WIDTH: 0px; PADDING- 0px
    .ms-WPBody TD IMG {
        PADDING-BOTTOM: 0px; BORDER-RIGHT-WIDTH: 0px; MARGIN: 0px; PADDING- WIDTH: 260px !important; PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; BORDER-TOP-WIDTH: 0px; BORDER-BOTTOM-WIDTH: 0px; HEIGHT:
    190px !important; VERTICAL-ALIGN: middle; BORDER-LEFT-WIDTH: 0px; PADDING- 0px; align: center
    .s4-wpcell-plain {
        PADDING-BOTTOM: 0px; BORDER-RIGHT-WIDTH: 0px; MARGIN: 0px; PADDING- WIDTH: 100% !important; PADDING-RIGHT: 0px; BORDER-TOP-WIDTH: 0px; BORDER-BOTTOM-WIDTH: 0px; HEIGHT:
    auto !important; VERTICAL-ALIGN: middle; BORDER-LEFT-WIDTH: 0px; PADDING- 0px
    .ms-PartSpacingVertical {
        MARGIN-"color:#783f04;font-family:'Courier New',Courier,monospace;" />}
    .style1 {
        COLOR: #808080
    }</style>
    We can fix the height & width of the image in the .ms-WPBody TD IMG css.

    How to display original images in SlideShow web part
    Step 1. Save below JavaScript code to file, for example in SlideshowObjectInitializer.txt and upload it to SiteAssets Library
    <script type="text/javascript">
    function SlideshowObjectInitializer() {
    ShowPic = (function(ShowPicOrig) {
    return function() {
    var ssObj = arguments[0]; //SlideShow object
    var curPicIdx=ssObj.index; //current picture index
    ShowPicOrig.apply(this, arguments); //call original ShowPic
    //apply some changes to display original picture in SlideShow control
    ssObj.image.src = ssObj.linkArray[curPicIdx]; //display original image instead of web image
    //change picture & container size to auto instead of fixed (by default web image size is used)
    ssObj.image.setAttribute('height','100%');
    ssObj.image.setAttribute('width','100%');
    var cell = ssObj.cell;
    cell.style.width = 'auto';
    cell.style.height = 'auto';
    cell.style.display = '';
    var pcell = ssObj.cell.parentNode;
    pcell.style.width = 'auto';
    pcell.style.height = 'auto';
    })(ShowPic);
    ExecuteOrDelayUntilScriptLoaded(SlideshowObjectInitializer, 'imglib.js');
    </script>
    Step 2. Add CEWP on page where Slideshow web part is located and in the Content Editor tool pane, under Content Link, type
    /SiteAssets/SlideshowObjectInitializer.txt.
    If this helped you resolve your issue, please mark it Answered

  • Remove empty space in Picture Library Slideshow web part

    I'm using Picture Library Slideshow web part in one of my pages. The web part itself is working fine, but I'm a bit annoyed by the white space the web part is consuming.
    The web part puts lots of empty space between the web part header and the picture and also to the bottom of the web part.
    The Slideshow web part generates the CSS on the fly, so I cannot really get a control of it cause it doesn't have any static CSS classes(that I know of, at least).
    How could I get rid of these white spaces?

    Hi Pekch,
    Thanks for your post.
    You can achieve this using JQuery.
    1.
    Download
    JQuery to your SharePoint Server, and then add a Content Editor Web Part to the page;
    2.
    View the source code using IE developer(Press F12), the code likes below:
    <td style="width: 195px; height: 213px;">
                    <div style="..." id="MSOPictureLibrarySlideshowWebPart_ctl00_m_g_ffa17524_ffa7_44e7_974c_1756a39257b9_cell">
                    </div>
    </td>
    3.
    So now, you can find the control whose id is started with “MSOPictureLibrarySlideshowWebPart” using the JQuery Code below:
    jQuery('div[@id^=”MSOPictureLibrarySlideshowWebPart”]')
    4.
    Remove the style of the “div” and his parent “td”. Because there is a “Width” attribute in both levels.
