Hallo. I would like to know if there is a limit on how many pages I can have on my iphone 3G. Is there a limit of 10 pages plus the original one? Because I have 3GB free memory on my iphone but if I download many apps that need more than 10 pages on the iphone they are installed but I can't see them. Is there a limit or does my iphone have a problem? Thanks.........

The limit is eleven pages of apps. You can put more apps on your phone than would be displayed on the eleven pages, but you would have to use the search function to find them as they would not be visible.

You can go into settings and turn sharing off in the programs on the device you don't want to share too.

Is there a file size limit for App Store downloads over wifi?

I just gifted my friend a navigation app that is 1.4 Gb in size. Unbeknown to me, her iPhone is not tethered to a computer and therefore she only downloads apps directly to the phone via wifi. Is it possible to download a file of this size directly to the phone? So far the app has said "Loading..." for 3 hrs with no movement in the status bar. If there is a limit I would have expected the phone to disallow the process from even beginning.
Any thoughts on how to get this app downloaded would be greatly appreciated.

If you right click on the file (navigate to it using finder, or if it is in iCloud you should open keynote, File -> Open and you should see a list of your iCloud keynotes) then press command+i, you'll pull up the info tag which will tell you the file size.
Keynote also has an option to Reduce File Size (File -> Reduce Files Size) but I do not recommend it at all because it will severely degrade the quality of your pictures.
It's also possible to reduce an individual image's memory size in your keynote by right clicking it and selecting Reduce Image File Size). This is more time-consuming but allows you to see if the degraded photo quality is still good enough, and you can always undo it.

How do I set a volume limit for apps?

My son and daughter like to use our iPhones (4 and 4S) to play with various kids apps, but they often crank the volume to the max which is both annoying and makes me concerned that we will blow out the speakers on the phone. I know how to limit volume for music and video, but is there a way to do it for apps?

The nuetralzone object work well for this problem. When the high level is reached, it will give you an alarm. On the reset of the alarm you can set to the alarm value minus a value the bin must drop before it resets the alarm.
If you are wanting a time delay, you can attach a timer object to the high level in the bin and then attach the alarm object to the timer. This will give you a time delay before the alarm becomes active. After the alarm is activated and if the high level switch resets itself, the timer will reset and a new alarm will be generated.

Depuis un mois j'ai du mal à télécharger les apps depuis le store. Ex. 6minutes pour 30Mo...
Ma connexion internet est sinon relativement bonne (hors YouTube) avec 16-18Mo.
Le même problème en 3G avec un iPhone4S les connexions sont très longues et plus de 10minutes pour 4-5Mo, alors que des applications de test de débits montrent 4-5 Mo en 3G.
C'est le store qui est saturé avec les sorties de ios6 et iPhone5 ?
Ou Free bloque l'accès à iTunes et AppStore ?

I have apps on my iPhone that I want to delete but do not want them deleted from my iPad. How do I know which ones are iPhone specific?

In order to save using data when traveling I want to delete apps from my iPhone that I don't need. However I do want these apps on my iPad and with the new IOS8.0.2 and Yosemite I think they are all now integrated so that if I delete from one device it is deleted from all and if I add to one device it is added to all. Deleting on one device does not affect another device.
You can delete the App's on the iPhone and nothing will happen to the ones on the iPad.

2. Settings->Cellular->"Use Cellular Data For" will show the data usage for each App since the last statistics reset
3. Settings->General->Background App Refresh Will show which Apps are allowed to get data in the background
4. It restricts it to Wifi. If the App requires internet access and Data is turned off, it will have to wait until the device is connected to a wifi network.
5. Nope, You just use up battery since the BT radio will continuously look for nearby BT devices.
6. The Personal Hotspot uses your cellular internet connection from your phone or other cellular device; whether you consider that secure or not I cannot say. It also depends on what you are doing while connected to the Hotel's wifi. I would not do online banking while on vacation though.

Can you share specific apps with other devices under same Apple ID? ...or do you need to enable he sharing of all apps that have been downloaded under that ID?

My family has multiple devices under one apple ID. I want to share only certain apps with certain family members. Is it possible to limit what apps are shared with which devices or do I need to share all of the apps that I download for personal use?

Thanks. I turned off the automatic downloads on the new devices (minis), but when I go into the app store I don't see any of the apps I have bought (for my original iPad) under "purchased". I was thinking that this was the logical place to find those apps that I want to download to the new devices. What am aI missing?

File type associations limit in WP8.1

Hi everyone!
I'm building a music app for WP8.1 called Teh Jukebox. I am aiming to support many music file formats.
I am however running into a huge problem due to the file type limit at certification time, only allowing 20 file types to be registered with an app.
The reason it is a problem is because I want to make a music app that plays many music file formats, from lossy types like mp3 to lossless types like flac, along with chiptune formats such as nes, spc and vgz. Secondly I want the app to be able to
display album art, and the album art may be in jpg format or png or gif.
After I added support for chiptune formats I went over the limit and the certification tool told me that the app failed certification as it went over the limit.
Here is a breakdown of the current file type support:

As you can see I'm over the limit at 23.
If I don't put each file type inside my Package.appxmanifest file as a File Type Association declaration when I call StorageFolder.GetFilesAsync() I don't get the files in the list, even though they are in that folder.
The code is all done and the formats all work but because of this limit my app can't currently be certified!
So my question is can the limit be extended for certain apps (up to 30 would be fine!) or is there some way to add more file types that I don't know?

I am not aware of any way to extend the 20 file extension limit. However, the other thing to keep in mind is
certain file extensions are reserved by the OS and any declarations you place in the manifest will be ignored. MP3, MP4, WAV, WMV are all reserved by the OS, for
example. The above link contains the full list.
There are two types of reserved file types: file types reserved for Windows Phone built-in apps and file types reserved for the operating system. When a file type reserved for a built-in app is launched, only the built-in app will launch. Any attempt
to register your app with that file type is ignored. Similarly, any attempt to register your app with a file type reserved for the operating system also will be ignored.

Maximum file size for Adobe air for Androind and iOS compiled apps

Hi All
I am working on a project which has a few videos which I need to bundle into my mobile app for an Ipad app I am creating using Adobe Air for iOS. My question is simple is there a maximum file size limit on apps compiled using Adobe air for iOS? And if so what is it? Any help would be great.

Hi. Im not a 100% sure this is correct. I am able to make a large .IPA file (200+Mb) and it will go onto my iPad 1, but it does not work - Just quicts after a few secs. If I run the same IPA on my iPad 2 it works.
When I take out some of the assets so its a smalelr size then it does run on the iPad.

I rated the app in the store and was to explain further regarding my work getting lost.    I've actually up'd the star rating because I think it's not really an Adobe issue. I think android closes apps when it reaches a certain limit of apps running. switching apps probably just closes photoshop touch. I know on HTC it's 7 apps.
Anyway, if you switch apps with the android app switcher, and use something else and come back, sometimes the app crashes, or just starts over, loosing your work. An example, switching to see a SMS and right back will close your project sometimes. Other times it goes back to exactly where it was at. Again, probably an android mememory thing..   Wondering if maybe you can have background saving to a temp file and reopen that if the app is closed by android.
