Limit on calendar entries imported to 8130 from Palm OS?

I got a BB8130 (Sprint) yesterday. After loading the software successfully onto my PC, I tried to run the automatic converter that imports my calendar, contacts, etc from my current Palm OS. The dialogue box popped up and indicated that it was copying my calendar entries over, so far so good. However, when it reached entry #5057 of ~5450, it stopped and locked up. I tried 2 more times with the exact same results.
Is there a max number of calendar entires (and/or contacts) that I can bring over? Anyone have any idea how I can cet around this? I don't have a memory card installed in the phone yet. Would that help? BTW, none of the 5056 that appeared to be migrating successfully actually appeared on my phone, so I guess they were all in a cue somewhere and got deleted when the conversion operation stopped and locked up. Thoughts?

You can use the PC just fine. Sync your Treo to outlook then activate your iPhone. It will sync the information from outlook just fine.
Keep in mind that your Memos, To Do lists and Epocrates will NOT sync to the iPhone.

  • Non-recurring calendar entries did not restore from backup

I synch contacts and calendar from PC, music and video from Mac. In the past, when I synced a new iphone for the first time, the backup on Itunes on my Mac automatically restored all contacts and calendar entries onto the new iPhone. Today, however, when I did the maiden sync on new 3GS (old iphone was first generation), my contacts and settings seem to have generally been restored, but none of my calendar entries made it over except for a few repeat calendar entries. I'm assuming I will pick up the missing calendar entries when I do my first sync to PC, but does anyone have a theory as to why this happened? Shouldn't all contacts and calendar entries be restored from the backup on the Mac, even though I do not keep my contacts and calendar on the Mac? Thanks for the help.

Follow up to my post -- I now realize that the contacts that got restored to my 3GS are in fact way outdated -- so it appears that the backup from which I restored, while it seems to have had current settings, had very outdated contacts and calendar. It may be that at one time the backup process captured contacts and calendar but no longer does, which I guess means the user has to sync to the computer where he syncs contacts and calendar to get current data onto the iphone (just like I did for music). This may sound obvious to most people, but bear in mind that my 3GS got a list of contacts (and some calendar entries) from SOMEWHERE when I synced to my Mac, even though my Mac has no such data (it is on my PC in Outlook).

  • Contacts and calendar entries go to ipad from iphone but not vice versa

i've got the cloud set up on both my new iPad and iPhone--problem is when I make contact or calendar entries on the iPhone, they cloud right over to the iPad, but when I make entries into the iPad, they don't go to the iPhone--I've checked settings on both devices and can't figure out the issue--please help!

Make sure you are entering the contacts and calendar events on your iCloud account.  On your iPad, check Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Calendar.  Here make sure you have selected an iCloud calendar as your default, and not something else like On My iPad, Google Calendar, and exchange account calendar, etc.
Then go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the contacts section) and make sure you have selected iCloud as your default.  (If you don't see this settings, this isn't the problem).
If your settings for your calendar is correct on your iPad and it still won't sync new calendar events to your phone, go to icloud.com from your computer and enter any missing calendar events on your iPad that are not on your calendar on icloud.com.  Once your iCloud calendar is up to date, go to Settings>iCloud, turn Calendars to Off, choose Delete from My iPad when prompted, then after a minute or so turn Calendars back to On to sync your iCloud calendars back to your phone.  Then enter a new event on your iPad and confirm that it syncs to icloud.com now.
If your settings for your contacts are correct on your iPad and it still won't sync new contacts to your phone, do the same thing for Contacts (add any missing contacts to icloud.com, turn iCloud syncing off, choose Delete from My iPhone, after a minute turn contact syncing back on, try adding a new contacts to confirm that it syncs).

  • Import To Dos from Palm to iCal

I am switching to a new phone/pda that does not sync with Palm but does with iCal and Address Book. However, I am unable to import my To Do list into iCal. When I try to Export To Dos my only options are as Palm files or Tab & Return. It seems to me that I had once played around with iCal ( just out of curiosity) and that I was able to Import the To Dos with no problem.
    What am I missing? Thanks.

    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
I'm afraid that you're stuck. The Palm Desktop has no provision to export task data in any form which can be imported into iCal: it provides only for export as a Palm Desktop file, or a tab-delimited file.
iCal can import only iCal files, vCal files (like those the Palm Desktop can export for event data) and Entourage files.

  • Duplicate calendar entries... only in list view

I have just observed a new phenomenon on my iphone which seems distinct from the duplicate entry problem often described. I seem to have numerous (but not all) entries in my calendar duplicated only on iphone and ONLY in LIST view. Single entries only are seen in DAY view on the iphone, iCal, mobileMe and a google calendar I sync to by busysync. I have been running smoothly for months and I assume the problem has come about because I turned off Push in the settings when abroad recently. If I edit just one of the duplicate entries in list view - by just clicking to the time edit pane, but not necessarily changing anything, the duplicate disappears! If I edit such an entry on iCal or Mobile me, when the sync goes through to the iphone, the duplicate also disappears. I think I can clear this one by forcing the iphone to restore from a backup or something similar, but I am intrigued about this behaviour which suggests a software bug.

I have not understood why this problem was occurring, but I have found a solution which is to force the calendar entries to be reset from Mobile Me. I did this:
1 Did a backup in iTunes in case it went horribly wrong.
2 Went into iphone>settings>Mail Contacts Calendars > (Mobile Me Account) > Switched off calendars - told it to delete entries on iphone.
    3 Turned off iphone
    4 Waited a bit
    5 Turned iphone on
6 Repeated 2 and switched on calendars.
7 Waited a bit for Mobile Me to sync
    All calendars restored nicely..
Why this problem occurred in the first place is a mystery. Unlike other punters, I didn't have itunes syncing my calendars to iphone, only Mobile Me........... It has the strong smell of a bug as this problem emerged after many months of trouble free syncing only when I updated to iphone 3.

  • All Contacts and Calendars entries have disappreared

All my Contacts and Calendar entries have suddenly disappeared from my iPhone4S, and the phone won't allow me to make any new Calendar entries. I've tried restoring from a back-up on my PC, but I get a messsage on iTunes on the PC saying no back-up is stored there, although I'm looking at the iTunes screen telling me when the last back-up was made.
Any suggestions would be much appreciated.
    TIA

I have the exact same problem and it drives me mad - thanks for letting me know if you find a solution. Here is what I will try: export all my contacts from where they are in the pst file in outlook then "try" to reimport them in the ost file (exchange). I noticed indeed that if I create a contact in the ost file, it does get pushed over to itunes.
But there seems to be no way of telling itunes which outlook data file to use in priority, and if you select it as default in outlook you wipe out the content of your mail file on the exchange server. Not great.

  • Installing Maverick on my Mac lost almost all of the calendar entries. They are still on my iPhone and new entries move freely to both devices via iCloud. How do I get the entries from my iPhone to iCloud without losing them from iPhone?

Like many others after I installed Maverick I found that all the calendar history has been lost and most of the forward info has also been lost. Also in order to get calendar, contacts and notes to sync with the iPhone I have had to move to iCloud. Contacts and notes sync fine. new calendar entries sync ok. My iPhone has all the calendar entries that were on the Mac before I installed Maverick. So far iCloud has not overwritten them nor have they synced onto iCloud.
How can I get all the entries from my iPhone onto iCloud, without losing the only copy of my calendar from my iPhone?
Thanks Apple for deciding to take over my privacy. I do not want this data stored on a US based server. Fortunately Mail still syncs via my own email provider. I guess Apple will find a way to stop that soon too!

    Greetings Nefertiti72,
It seems you are experiencing an issue with contact syncing and management. It seems you've removed an email account which contained a number of contacts that are not associated with your iCloud account. I have linked to a knowledge base article which provides more information about iCloud contacts syncing:
Get help using iCloud Contacts - Apple Support
Learn what to do if you’re having issues using iCloud Contacts. For example, you might make changes to Contacts that don't update across all of your devices.
You may want to consider importing the contacts from the email account you removed. You can do it easily by following the steps in this article:
    iCloud: Import a vCard
You can import an electronic business card, also called a vCard, into iCloud Contacts. If the vCard contains contact information for more than one person, each contact becomes a separate entry.
In iCloud Contacts, choose Import vCard from the Action pop-up menu , which appears at the bottom of the All Contacts list or a list of group contacts
    Select a vCard to import.
The contacts from the vCard are added to the All Contacts group in Contacts. You can add the contacts to any other group by dragging them to the desired group.
Thank you for contributing to Apple Support Communities.
    Best,

  • How do I publish calendars imported into iCal from a .ics file to iCloud rather than MobileMe?

Having upgraded my iPhone4 & iPad to iOS5 and my iMac to OSX 10.7.2, I have been having trouble with duplicate calendar entries. Unfortunately, having deleted all but one calendar from the iCloud web interface, I heeded the mistaken advice to disable Calendars in the iCloud preference pane on the iMac and it deleted the calendars that had been removed from iCould from the iMac as well.
A few false starts later, I was able, after disconnecting all my devices from the net, to restore my iCal calendars with TimeMachine from before the chaos started then exported them as .ics files. After rebooting and re-enabling the network to the iMac, iCloud sync purged the restored calendars from iCal again, so I imported the .ics files into iCal and published them again, but the publish options only include MobileMe or a private server, so I chose MobileMe. iCal now happily shows all my calendars on the iMac again, but the iCloud web Calendar app can't see them.
How can I get iCloud to see the published iCal calendars again?

Solved, I think! What you need to do is log on to your icloud account at www.icloud.com, go to the calendar screen, click the gearwheel and choose New Calendar. Create a calendar here (ie up on the iCloud) with the name you want for your imported calendar data. Then switch to iCal - you may have to quit and relaunch for the new iCloud calendar to appear (or it will probably do so automatically if you wait long enough) then import the data using File->Import->Import... When you get to the step where it asks which calendar you want to import the data into, choose the new iCloud calendar you've just created. Job done!
To be complete in my answer, I don't think you can exactly do what you want to do, at least not at present. There doesn't seem to be any way to publish a calendar to iCloud after the first time you set up iCloud on your Mac when it exports any calendar data that is on the Mac at that time. I suppose that Apple feel that the way I have described works by exporting from one calendar and importing into another, so no need to provide a way of doing it directly.

  • Where are my calendar entries from 2011?

I can no longer access any calendar entries from 2011.  They are GONE.  As a test, I made another entry in the December 2011 calendar, and within five seconds, it disappeared!  Where are my entires for all of last year?  How do I get them back?  I do not have a calendar program on my PC, and I never set any preferences when I installed Icloud, and I cannot access calendars in Icloud without installing Outlook.  I dont want Outlook.  I want my data back from the cloud!  HELP!

You need to find out how the Google calendar application imports calendars from Macs. As for the Calendar itself you can export the calendar to a file. The Google calendar should be able to Import that file.

  • Rogue calendar entries from iCal

Let's start with the environment: using a Mac formatted 2nd generation iPod nano. Also use v2.0.4 iCal and v7.0.2 iTunes.
Here's the problem: After syncing using iTunes I have a calendar entry that shows up on the iPod starting on and repeating for every day after January 17, 2007. This entry does NOT exist in iCal. I have deleted the database from the iPod memory then resynced the iPod, but this hasn't helped. If I unselect the calendar with the bad entry from the iTunes sync screen, the rogue entries disappear from the iPod. Conversely, if I only select the calendar with the bad entry, they show up on the iPod again. So the bad entries definitely have something to do with that particular calendar in iCal. I've searched the Net but haven't been able to find a report of anything similar.
Another fun fact is that I exported the "bad" calendar from iCal then imported it under a different name. The rogue entries show up on the iPod for this "new" calendar.
Any ideas or suggestions from you smart people?

Hi, can anyone help? Does apple offer any support in their own 'communities' - still experiencing this probelm & I've had no acknowledgement or anything from anyone at apple or anyone at all......help please - I thought this avenue was going to prove to be very helpful & as a first-time user (as I very rarely have any issues with apple) I must say I'm really disappointed.

I am running Windows 8. Although my contacts and notes from my Ipod touch  show up on icloud my calendar entries do not show up even though they do show up in my Google calendar and my windows phone calendar. Any suggestions not already covered in trouble shooting articles?

As I mentioned earlier, you have to decide which calendar you want to use.  You can either use Google or iCloud, but not both.
If you want to use your iCloud calendar, go to Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Calendar section) and set this to your iCloud calendar.  After doing so, all new events you add to your calendar will be added by default to your iCloud calendar, and as a result, will appear on icloud.com and your computer (if it is syncing calendars with your iCloud account).
If, on the other hand, you want to use your Google calendar (as it sounds like you are doing with your iPod), simply add the same Google calendar to your phone and your computer.

When syncing Contacts or Calendars between an iPhone, iPad, or an iPod touch and Outlook 2003, Outlook 2007, or Outlook 2010, changes that you synced to your computer may not appear in Outlook even after the sync has been completed.Try this article to see if it works for you

  • Once I updated to OS 6 all my calendar entries from early in the year  have disappeared. I need them as a reference and record of activities how do I restore them?

Once I updated to OS 6 all my Calendar entries from the early part of the year disappeared. I need them as a record of PD activities how do I restore the earlier entries. The new future activities are there just the old ones have disappeared.

Well, that would depend on what calendar you are using.
If you are simply relying on the calendar on the device, well, that's not very smart.  Restoring from backup should put everything back.
If the calendar is synced with another service, like Google, iCloud, Exchange, do the entires still exist there?
If the calendar is synced with Outlook or iCal on your computer, do the entries still exist there?
