Limit on free song downloads?

When I try to download the "Free Single of the Week", I get a message that says, "Your free song balance is out of date.Click Ok to refresh and try your purchase again."
When I click OK, I get the same message again.
I've never had this problem before. Usually the tune downloads and the purchase receipt reflects $.00.
When did the restriction on downloading "Free Single of the Week" go into effect?

thats odd try Log Out then Log back in and see if that helps.

Still no luck here... I've waited three more weeks and just more of the same.
Every free song of the week downloads apparently correctly, I receive the "receipt" a few days later (for $0.00 as it is the free song), but the song can never be played.
I contacted support and they gave me four songs, but couldn't fix the problem. I tentatively purchased one song and this worked OK... I've deauthorized and reauthorized the computer, uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and still no change...
Anyone else have this happening?

Free Song Download

Ok I went to download the free song but it didnt say free it said 0.99 BUY... If I add this to y shopping cart and stuff will I still get billed?
This is my first time buying music online so I wanted to test the waters with a free song and see how it works..

The "free song" has been a problem with the iTMS for some reason. Quite often it still shows a charge even though it's supposed to be free. Check again tomorrow or Wednesday and by then (we can hope) they'll have it fixed, at least for this week.

How do you get free songs the only way i know how is to go to itunes and click the free download of the week but i want more not just one once every 2-1 weeks any1 know how?

That is basically the only way you can get free songs on iTunes. Of course, there are podcasts, but yes, I think that's the only exclusive from iTunes that gives you free song downloads. And I think the free song of the week is every Thurday.
But I don't know what your country's iTunes has, so you'll need an Ausie on here if you want more info, perhaps. Or just learn more at the Autrailian version of Apple.com's "iPod+iTunes".

I can't seem to open the free song download from Apogee demonstrating the "One" and Garageband.

I have version 5.1 on a macbook pro (I'm a Logic Pro user and that can't open it either although it should). It says something about possible truncated files and unknown formats. Any thoughts ?

Free music download off

The latest Creative newsletter had the following promotion :
"We're giving you FREE song download from BigPond Music, to thank you for supporting Creative and our products! ...."
When I went to the web site, it stated that a "redemption code" would be sent to me via email. It's been a day and I still have not received that email. When I went back to the web site again, it now stated :
"Our records show that you have redeemed your free song from Big Pond Music. Your redemption code has been sent to your registered email address."
Has anyone else had the same problem?

I also experienced problems with the free downloads...
During the promotion last year, Creative actually promised free downloads (5 songs i think) but when I logged into the Soundbuzz site, they actually prompted me to enter a Voucher No. in order to redeem...
But there wasn't any Voucher No given to me.
Had emailed the Customer Svc, but all I got was just a general Thank you reply to my query...
Till now, I've not downloaded any single song...disappointed..
Hope Creative really does something about the support services...

You can create an App store account without a credit card, however that won't help you with updating your previous purchases. Apps are DRM protected, and tied to the account that was used to originally purchase them. There is no way to overcome this DRM protection or transfer them to another account(Itunes support can if you contact them). If you want to create an App store account without a credit card, follow the directions here, but bear in mind the DRM protection mentioned. If you use this account to download free apps, you will have to use this same account for all future updates:

Go back to the App Store app and find the app you're having problems with. Then look in the description for the contact info for the developer. You might also find an email link within the settings of the app. Contact the developer to find out if they are working on this issue.

You may have done, the iTunes Store usually does have a free song on offer, but it will be an unknown artist that someone is trying to promote, not top selling songs from major artists. Usually, those who download such free music are downloading things they already know about - in other words, they know about that particular piece of music and then they find it's available under a *CC Licence.* If you simply wish to find free music, you'll probably be disappointed with what you do find.

I recently got this app and I downloaded free songs. I am now trying to download them to my music list on my itunes and my phone how do I do that

Is the app on your iPhone or on your computer ? Does the developer's website have a help/FAQ section on it for how to use the app ? If the app is on your phone and you've downloaded songs in it then does it appear in the file sharing section on the phone's App on your computer's iTunes so that you can copy them to your computer and then add them to your iTunes library ?

I understand the confusion. Those tracks are royalty free to the owner of the tracks, yes. The terms of use of the iTunes Store still state, though, that all purchases are for your own personal use and cannot be used commercially:
USAGE RULES
1. You shall be authorized to use iTunes Products only for personal, noncommercial use.
They're probably fine for presentations in a class or to a group at your company, but you probably could not post the presentation or a video using these tracks on a public site. I'm no lawyer, though, to legally define what would and would not constitute "noncommercial". It's probably best to just buy your tracks directly from one of these sites of royalty-free music. Then the use license should be completely clear.
