Limit to length of transition?

hey guys!!
i am loving FCPX, very very nice bit of software but one thing is baffling me, when i try to insert a transition between 2 clips, it wont drop in???
now the clips i am editing are very short, sharp and sweet, so is this the reason please? i tried changing the duration of the transition but only lets me change it a little!
so is this because my actual clip will be shorter than the actual length of the transition does anyone know please?

#4) now, clip#1 is a selection which offers a few frames BEHIND it ...
this frames are needed for the transition, because FCPX doesn't shorten clips as e.g. iMovie does, it keeps the timeline
hint for future projects:
let the camera run .... and run ... and run ....

I have used an instance of CL_GUI_TEXTEDIT on a container. But I want to limit the length of text that can be entered in the text edit ? The method LIMIT_TEXT is protected so I can not call it in the abap source code.
Is there any other way to limit the length of text in Text Edit Control ?

Hi,
Protected methods are essentially for inherited classes only. To access a protected method, inherit a class from this class and then create and instance of the child class and then using the instance object, call the protected method.
Hopefully it should work.

What is the character limit for length for video or song review?

One other thing I found... It was still doing the spinning clock and locking up, but it took a while after boot for the problem to crop up.
I pulled the media card and found that there was a media sync folder under Blackberry\System that had some files in there that were pretty big. The artwork file was over 150MB and some other files were largish.
I deleted the entire media sync folder and now it seems to be behaving itself. No more spinning clock and it seems to be slowly returning to normal. (Besides all the messages it deleted during the whole process)
If anyone else runs into this I would say you should clean the folder off the media card along with disabling the sync. Seems the BB still reads that folder and processes it if present.

Limit string-length in Reporting Data Source

we want to report some attributes to the BI. For this we use the standard reporting activity in the BPM. After we done a lot of configuration on the CE and the BI we achieved to connect the two systems. All attributes are passed correctly to the BI and now we have a problem with the string-length we pass to the BI. The string-length they get from the CE is 512 but the BI can only handle strings with a 60-length. Is it possible to limit the length of a string in the BPM or the CE?

I have created reporting data source in my BPM where my parameter defined is of type "STRING'.
This data source is accessed by BW system for reporting purpose where they get an error as below -
"STRING/XTRING types used Not supported by currently selected access method UDCGEN; cannot use this method"
Looks like BW does not support string type, how can we make this datatype compatible?
Please share if you have any idea.

Settings>Mail,Contacts,Calendars>Default Account (in the Contacts section), set this to iCloud.

Simple Question? Limit input length of inputfield

Hello,
how can I limit the max. input of a inputfield?
When I do this by the local dictionary I get on the view a value help-button besides the inputfield. But I don't want that. What could be another way?

Yes, you have to create new simple type for this purposes. And you have to define <b>Maximum length</b> property for this type.

Very strange... Probably you declared enumeration for this type as well? Or created modifiable simple value set at run-time?

Limit display length of textfield to 2 characters

Hi,
in my form i have a textfield for dayname like "Montag" which is german for Monday.
On my form i do not have so much space therefore i want to show only "Mo" (first to characters).
How can i acchieve this?

In Palletes select
Objects (Tab) -> Field (tab) -> there is a check box 'Limit Length' . check that box and enter 2 in the box 'Max Chars:'.

Can't change length of transition

Hi there,
Chronology of problem:
1) opened project and the footage was offline. Message was couldn't access capture/scratch disk. Went to preference and re-did scratch disks.
2) FCP wouldn't open, disappearing partway through boot.
3) trashed preferences. No change.
4) re-installed FCP 5.01. Project opened and could edit timeline.
5) Added a cross dissolve. Supposed to be a one second transition but it's one frame.
6) Double-clicked and tried to change it in the viewer window, but it won't change from one frame no matter what number are inputted.
7) Tried dragging the end of the transition to lengthen. Won't lengthen.
Anyone else had this problem?

I did the cross fade transition in Motion on the file itself. I then did a test with another Motion file and I was able to change the length of the transition. Very weird.
So the question still lingers, but the problem was solved.

Limit to length of dash arrays

I've not been able to find any documented limit to the number of elements in a line dash pattern, but Adobe Reader seems to refuse to read a PDF file if the number exceeds 10. Is this the limit or does it depend upon something else (such as the dash lengths for example)?

This is documented in the PDF Reference in the Implementation Limits section - and yes, the current limit as implemented by Adobe Reader/Acrobat is 10.

So perhaps the initial string is: "New York is North of
Miami"
Which is 26 characters...
And I want to limit the returned result to 15 characters to
get "New York is Nor"
How would I do this...
I can count len etc but haven't figured out this one...

ex.

How to limit the length of text in a column

Hello All,
I have a report built from direct database request.
I have a comments column , for some of ID's the comment lines are more than 10. For soem rows it is 1 line and for some rows it is having 10 lines.
Even though in properties if i select wrap text not helping me.
I want it to show a single line and remaining 9 lines like a link if user wants to see detailed comment he can click on it.
Can anyone please help me how to achieve this.

In obiee 11.1.1.7 the column will be extended up to the length of the data(horizontally and vertically)

Limit on length or # of control points with paintbrush tool?

Often times when I'm drawing a path with the paintbrush, it will just stop after a certain length (or number of points, perhaps). I intially thought this was an issue with my tablet, but I am also able to replicate this using the mouse. What I find odd is that I can select the path, after this happens, and add to it with the paintbrush with no problems. Is there a setting that I can adjust, so that the paintbrush doesn't stop working on me in the middle of drawing a path? Thanks!

It's possible that we're binding using those names using one of these new-fangled constructs (like form pagination) and that the exception is being masked. In any case the Builder could be more helpful in this regard.

I created a table named LEARNING_PLAN_COURSE_MAPPING in SAP DB, when I deleted a record in it through EJB, it failed, following is the log.

Limit on length of video?

i have downloaded several short 5 minute videos to my ipod and itunes but now i just tried downloading a movie running 1hr 18min. but it wont even let me open this in itunes. its not a dvd i downloaded this movie from the internet and already made it an MP4 so it would be playable. so is there a certain limit on how long the video can be or is this just a bad video or something because i think it would be able to open in itunes anyways.

Has anyone seen a performance difference when viewing a video when the iPod is plugged into a computer/charger versus on the battery alone? I've had some stuttering of the video and then losing audio when I've played movies on the battery alone. However, when the a movie was played with it running off a charger, there were no issues.

Bookmarks from structure - limit on length of text?

I am trying to create bookmarks from structure when converting a WORD 2007 document to pdf. The WORD doc contains headings in Heading 1 format. The first part of this heading appears OK in the bookmark but it is truncated i.e. only the first few dozen characters of the heading appear in the bookmark. Is there any way of increasing the number of characters that appear in the bookmark?
I am using WORD 2007 Adobe 9 Pro extended on Windows XP
