Limit to number of users

OK - so maybe I am dreaming - but I was so certain that when I signed this client up for a webCommerce plan (they paid $421 for the year) that they could have 1 Admin plus Users. Now I see that there is only 1 User - period - for the site. Was it always this way?
So to resolve this issue we are going to upgrade to allow more users. Question is this, if the client does it themselves through their Admin, they only have the choice to upgrade to the next higher plan - $52.99 a month. They would like to pay annually. Will the upgrade pro-rate for the months they've already paid?
Or is the better thing to do is upgrade them through my Partner account and add a user at $5/month and just pay monthly? Also, can I then go back in and add just one more user for $5/month.

Hi,
Yes the plan for webCommerce 1 would only allow for one non-partner admin user.  There are other plans that offer additional users such as webCommerce 5 or 10 (5 or 10 users respectfully).
So if needing to add more users for the you can add extras within your portal -> clients -> details.
If just needing to add a partner user to the site just do to portal - clients -> details -> add me to site.
*Note: The partner user must be apart of the portal and you will need to login as the partner user to add to any site under the portal.
Hope this clarifies!

  • Newbie question... Can I limit the number of users ...

Can I limit the number of users accessing a URL?
My company wants to start making videos available on our intranet web site. Once published, they are planning to send an email to all our employees (5000+) to announce the video. That's a great idea... but who asked the network guy if the network (server too) can take the load? NOBODY.
Short term solution... can I limit the number of concurrent users hitting a URL? And if possible, can I push a message to the users that try once the limit is reached?
Limiting the bandwidth is an option, but I will trash the user experience.
Long term solutions besides bandwidth increase? Cashing servers, WAN accelerators...?
    Help !!!

This is really not a problem for the WSA to solve.  Typically the WSA is used to control content and provide security for external internet content.  The product does not have the feature you describe.
However, when it comes to the internal hosting of content - since you are using an internal server, that server should be able to control the amount of traffic it servers, number of connections, etc.

  • Is there anyway to limit the number of users?

Very straightforward, is there anyway to limit the number of users of the Airport Express for only a certain amount of time during the day?
There are certain periods during the day that I don't want my cousin to use the wifi, but the only way I can think of is to change the password and only type in the password for him when he needs it, however this is very troublesome? Is there a more sufficient way to do this?
    Thank you.

You have the ability using Timed Access to establish daily time limits (or no time limits) for each computer that will be connecting to the AirPort Express.
Open Macintosh HD > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility
    Click Manual Setup
Click the Access Control tab located under the row of icons
For MAC Access Control select Timed Access
For complete instructions, click the Help menu at the top of the screen and then click AirPort Utility Help. Enter the following phrase into the search box:

  • How can I rise limit of number of users on an server in logon group (SMLG).

    Hello
How can I rise limit of number of users on an server in logon group (SMLG).

In that case, you have not done your Sizing correctly. If users are more on all the Servers, then your performance is hampering, which is leading to delay in Response time.
So the first course of action is to proper gathering of logging of users & as per that, you need to increase app server.
Also check out how the Operation modes has been divided...if Dialog users are more & BGD users are less in Morning time (IST) for example you can have Switching of Dialog users by which your processes are occupied more for Dialog users, therefore more no of users can log in & vice-versa.

  • How to Limit the Number of Users Logged into HTML DB

I'm using LDAP based SSO and I'd like to limit the number of users who can log into the application at a given time. If my users are assigned to groups, can I also limit the number of users who belong to a certain group who can be logged in at one time? Can anyone think of any HTML DB APIs that might be useful in doing this?

Well if you apply a "time-out" on the session and if the there is a HTML DB table in the FLOWS account that can be queried to see the number of sessions, then you could restrict HTML DB sessions to a certain number. But if you have multiple HTML DB applications, how are you going to know which HTML DB session goes which application?
It is very ugly. I realistically cannot see a way. Maybe the Oracle folks have a way of limiting the sessions internally within HTML DB
Just out of curiosity, why do you want to limit the number of users? Maybe if you explain that then that might help in coming up with a solution.

  • Limit to number of users can access share at same time.

I have a mac that I want to put a windows accesible share on. I need to know how many people can have access to the files on that share at one time. I am running OSx Tiger on a new Imac 20". On a windows machine it is determined by the number of cals.
    imac20"   Mac OS X (10.4)
    imac20"   Mac OS X (10.4)

Actually, that document referes to "Personal File Sharing" - 10 is the limit imposed by Apple for AFP, which is Apple's proprietary protocol.
"Windows Sharing" or SMB is open source, and I don't think there is a limit imposed by the license.
The "tested and theoretical maximums (limits)", for SMB on 10.3 Server puts the limit at 1000 connected users (tested and theoretical - with the caveat that the numbers will be limited based on available resources). Between them, the users would be limited by the "number of open files" (theoretically up to 12288, but tested to 1000). But I don't know for sure what if any differences exist between the SMB versions installed by default in OS X Client vs. Server or if anything has changed with the version installed in 10.4.

  • Limit on number of users that can be provisioned in one AE request

    Hi Gurus,
Could you please let me know if there is a cap on the number of users that can be requested for provisioning in one single AE request. We are on AE 5.2? and we are facing this error when we try to raise a request containign more than 25 users:
"User Provisioning failed for System(s) : FEP. Error Message : User ####### not found;"
Let me knwo if you need further information on this error.
    thanks,
    Poornima

    Poornima,
Its recommended not to create a request for more than 20 users for mass provisioning.
Try with 20 users max., I think it should resolve your problem.
    Thanks,
    Tavi

  • Limiting the number of users/connections

We currently have a very large user community (120000)who will be accessing the portal for ESS/MSS functionality.
We would like to limit the number of users to around 20000. Any more connections should get a nice error message (rather than a standard IE no more connections or a time out message).
We can obviously throttle the number of connections via the load balancer or via max connections in unix. Is there any method in the Portal itself, that will automatically direct the users to a seperate web page in the event of pre determined number of users/connections being reached.
I have search high and low but can't find a solution.
    Thanks in advance
    Fenton

    Hi Tim,
No, there is nothing like this as a standard functionality within the portal. Similar requests are regulary asked on SDN (like: restrict the number of users logging in as you ask, restrict the number of parallel logins of one user, and things like this).
A possibility would be to implement your own login module which tries to check how many users are online. All techniques - independent if on portal or on WAS side - that try to count this have the problem that they cannot be sure who is "online" as you have no definite information if a user is online or not; one can only use more or less heuristic methods.
    Hope it helps

Is there any limit to number of user that java can handle at a time.

    PrasadW_Java_forum wrote:

Is there any limit to number of user that java can handle at a time.I am not sure, but it shouldn't surprise me if there is some technical limitation with the same value as Integer.MAX_VALUE. Though, you still need a lot of memory/storage to achieve this :)

  • Limit the number of concurrent users

Is it possible to limit the number of concurrent users for the application in Websphere or at the http management level?

You don't say what version of Websphere you are using, but here's how you might limit the number of sessions in Websphere 4.0 Advanced Edition (other versions may differ):
Open the Administrative Console. Go down the tree to Nodes, Application Servers and click on the server you want to control (likely Default Server). In the right panel, click on the Services tab. In that panel, click on the Session Manager Service and click the Properties button. That pops up a new dialog.
Select the Advanced tab here. Put a number in the Maximum in-memory Session Count field and uncheck the Allow Overflow checkbox. Click OK, etc, etc, and you'll probably have to restart Websphere.
I said "might" because I don't know if this will do what you want or not. Read the help file associated with that dialog and judge for yourself.

  • Limit the number of session per user in the Wired dot1x environment with ISE 1.2

    Hello,
I need to check if there is any configuration/workaround to limit the number of sessions/access per user in the Wired dot1x configuration.
I need to check if this feature is available or not to solve the following scenario:
I have 2 SW ports configured to use dot1x authentication with ISE 1.2 server.
If user A connects to the 1st port and authenticated then he will placed on a VLAN based on the authorization profile.
The case, that I need to deny the same user to connect on a different machine with the same credentials.
The ISE itself does not have this feature currently,  the only feature available is to limit the number of sessions for the guest user.
Is there any workaround on the Cisco switches to solve this? Cisco WLC has this feature and for the VPN we can limit the number of sessions also from the ASA itself.
    Thanks.

limit number of session per user using wired dot1x is not available in 1.3

  • How to find maximum number of users we can assign for Hyperion Planning.

    HI,
How to find maximum number of users we can assign for Hyperion Planning.i.e., how to find license limit in hyperion planning 11.1.2.1.
In Essbase propreties, the system is showing maximum planning users could be 65535.
what would be the number for concurrent scenario?
    Thanks

The number of users would be based on your license agreement with Oracle, the system is not aware of your license agreement so it is up to you to stick to it.

  • How can I limit the number of attempts to print a web page

Hi I'm trying to find a resolution for an issue on our network.
We run several kiosk machines that allow customers to print out documents and web pages. However we are finding that we waste a lot of ink due to user's frequently sending the same print task to the printers.
Just yesterday we had someone print out over 70 pages because they just keep clicking print.
I've tried looking for an add-on that would address this but was not able to find one.
My question is this, Is there an internal setting that can be changed in firefox to limit the number of print attempts to say once every 30 seconds, or even a way to make a dialogue box come on screen saying that the print request is currently processing and not allow more printing until the current task is completed.

Sorry, there is no setting within Firefox to prevent that from happening. Once the user sees the "native print dialog" box (what is seen when you do Ctrl + P to initiate printing), the operating system and the printer drivers take it from there.
I have seen something similar to that on kiosk / rental PC's in FedEx Office stores, that notify the user of the cost per page the user wants to send to a printer, and if the user should happen to click again to print the same pages again it asked if you want to spend another $x.xx to print a second copy. Wouldn't be too much different to just shut off the printing of multiple copies of the same document and notify the user of that action.
My advice is to discuss that with whoever set up those kiosks to being with.

  • Limit the number of open production order

    Dear PP experts,
I am working on discrete scenario where client want to limit the number of open production order per work center. The more elaboration is like, for one work center the only specific number of production should remain open (e.g. 5 production order in assembly shop) when user is trying to open 6th production order system should restrict that.
Does any standard functionality available in system or needs development?
    Regards,
    Shekhar

    Dear,
You can do it with avilability check for materail and capacity.
In OPJK do the for your production order type as no release if materail and capacity i missing.
    Hope clear to you.
