Limitation on a material basis or another filed in recipe.

Hi All,
I wasnt to grant access to recipes to users depending on the data that is given in the recipe (e.g. per application field or material,u2026).E.g. some users are allowed to see/change recipe of material XYZ, while other users are not allowed to see/change a recipe of material XYZ.
So , can you please find out, if there is any possibility to create a check or whatsoever to include such an access limitation on a material basis (or another field in the recipe) on recipes?

It is not common that authorizations must be based on material codes of the recipe header;
it is usual , however, to create some roles based on Authotization objet VAGRP from C_ROUT_MAT.-
Many VAGRP ( or Planner Group in the Recipe Header) can be created in Customizing and assigned to the recipe header.

I need to configure Free Goods of Material Group to Material Group.
User want:
1) Free Goods from one Material Group to another Material Group, like F010 to F040
2) User should have option to change from one Material Group to Other Material Group, which He / She want, like F010 or F020, F030, F040 any one of them.
Suppose;

if you want to give free goods from other group it can be possible only for EXCLUSIVE free good type
In exclusive free goods, a material different from the orignal material can be specified as the free goods.
Example: A customer who buys 200 crates of beer, gets 5 boxes of glasses free.
In VBN1 >> Exclusive
See column ADD FREE MATERIAL
While creating Sales Order what Quantity (Gallons/No./Ltr) to be put?
Maintain alternative units in material master >> Additional data >> Material master,BUT it is only main item
Those item u want to give free that items unit is derived from free goods condition record and it CANNOT be change in order

Creating a materialized view for another user

I don't seem to find the correct setup for this....
With the user "dummy"
CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW dummy.thetable BUILD IMMEDIATE REFRESH FORCE ON DEMAND AS select * from real.thetable;
And the materialized view is created ok.
With a DBA user:
CREATE MATERIALIZED VIEW dummy.thetable BUILD IMMEDIATE REFRESH FORCE ON DEMAND AS select * from real.thetable;
ORA-01031: insufficient privileges
I don't want to be switching back and forth from the user to create materialized views, am I missing a permission here? DBA of course has create any materialized view

From the SQL Reference Guide:
To create a materialized view in another user’s schema:
- You must have the CREATE ANY MATERIALIZED VIEW system privilege.
- The owner of the materialized view must have the CREATE TABLE system privilege. The owner must also have access to any master tables of the materialized view that the schema owner does not own (for example, if the master tables are on a remote database), and to any materialized view logs defined on those master tables, either through a SELECT object privilege on each of the tables or through the SELECT ANY TABLE system privilege.
I suspect that, if you first GRANT CREATE TABLE TO DUMMY, you will be able to create the MV.

Material Transfer From one Material Type to another should not be possible

I have a issue here i want to lock the transfer posting from one Material Type to Another Material Type . The point is the Transefr Posting Shuold happen from same Material Type . So can anybody help me out that what should I do for the same

I tried for the same but its not working . I just kept a Break point in this exit . Tried to transfer from MB1B its not stopping at the Break Point Can U suggest as I am doing it from MB1B .

How it is possible to charge the material cost to another activity?
The material has GR for the activity A but we require the cost in the activity B (Activities are in same network)
Is it possible to charge the material to this activity (Without PR creation).

txn kb15n select the scrn var as wbselement/network and enter the sender wbse,network,activity no,costelement and amount.
enter the data for receiver also. with this you can transfer the material cost from one activity to other.

Transfer posting is done through MB1B T.Code which requires the necessary movement tyep
Transferring the material stock into another Material uses the mvt type 309
The quantity is posted from unrestricted-use stock of the issuing material into unrestricted-use stock in the receiving material
Prerequisite: both materials have the same stockkeeping unit.
Possible special stock indicators: E, O, Q, V, W

In freegoods if one material is purchased another material is given free if the free good is not available i mean stock not available the free good should be replaced with another material
ex: customer wants to buy pencil he should get rubber if rubber is not there i mean no stock shopner has to come

i guess its not possible in standard sap. In VBN1 we have different delivery controls where you can deliver the main item without free, or only free item, or if main item partially delivered then also give the free item, like that. But you cannot replace the free item if stock not available with some thing else.
i guess doing material determination for the free item also does not help in this case. Since free goods functionality cannot include items with material determinatin.
open to more ideas.

Sounds like a problem for forums/support from the DB provider, as this problem is normally solved through some form of HA provided by the DB (or some cluster software, but still not Java) with, normally, a shared (virtual) IP address.

Quantity transfer one material code to another

Material to material transfer posting can be done with movement type 309 in transaction MB1B and MIGO (in releases above 46c).
Precondition: same base unit of measure.

How to shift valuation class from one material type to another material type ?

I have came across following weird scenario:
We already created huge no.of materials of material type say ZABC with two valuation classes say 1100 and 1200(GL accounts for these VCs for different posting keys in OBYC settings are same). Account category reference for this material type is 0010.
After that we created new material type say ZPQR with new Account category reference 0025, and valuation class 1200 is linked with this ACR 0025. Because of this, valuation class 1200 disappeared from material type ZABC. In order to avoid inconsistency, we need to have valuation class 1200 linked with older material type i.e.ZABC.How we can do this ? What impacts must have happened in this period (from MM/FI) in the system, where valuation class get shifted from one material type(ZABC) to another material type(ZPQR)....please help us in this scenario.

Your are also correct in terms of statement "config doesnt allow me to assign same valuation class to 2 different AREF (Account reference number/Account category reference).
I wanted to know, what are the possible impacts in the system during this re-assignment of ACR to old material type ZABC.

Seeing held material document with another user I.D.

Hi Experts,
I am new to this forum. My query is - Is it possible to see a material document in the held list of MIGO screen if the document has been held up with some other user I.D. I held up a goods issue document from MIGO screen and i can see that document in held list of MIGO screen with same user I.D. But when i am entering MIGO with another user I.D. this document is not showing up in the held list. How can i see it in held data list of the MIGO screen with the second user I.D. ?

Auto populate text field base on anothe r text field input

ive created a medical form that the end user enters codes for medical reasons and a description for that code. the description are very long and tedious. is there a way to have the user enter the code in one field and have it auto populate another field with the correct description?
I was able to do this with a combo box but not with a standard text box. please note, i have never learned javascript and have been ""duct taping" peices of code to make things work up until now . appreciate the help

The advantage of the combo box is the automatic validation of the input as the selection is made.
You can use control statements like the "if" or "switch" statement or perform an array lookup. This action can be performed in the on blur action of the input filed or in the calculation script for the target field.

Material Blocked by another user

Yes at a time Multiple SO or PO can be created for a material by multiple users.
But posting GR/ GI for a particular material is not possible as it will be locked by another user.

Stock material transfer to another plant

Dear SAP Gurus
please advice how to transfer complete stock material whatever in a Plant A to Plant B at one shot???
normally we using STO for this purpose. i need transfer the mateiral at one Shot to another plant.
