Limited Financial User and Document Draft?

Hello,
I noticed that Limited Financial User for 8.81 has no acces to draft documents. Other user types have acces without problem (even limited logistic).
Do someone know, if this is behaviour or bug in SBO?
I found only one note related to 8.8 and there it was program error, but no note or message to 8.81.

In 8.8. it is bug which is corrected in PL15, but I asked for 8.81.
Meanwhile I find out in discussion with SAP that it seems to be a bug in 8.81 and Limited Financial User, but it seems that Im first who reported this. Hope it will be solved soon.
If someone has experience with this and reported it already, let me know.

8.8 Limited Financial User - missing functionality .... COPY TO

Similar to the referenced issue below, a limited financial user cannot use the 'copy to' feature from a AP Purchase Order to an AP Invoice; it is simply grayed out. We are on version 8.8 (8.80.230) SP:00 PL:12.
Unfortunately, there are no 'price list' authorization issues, as suggested by this question and answer:

We are also facing the same problem even after using the 'Copy From' functionality. But ita seems work for the intial stage for some 10 days, soon after not able to create A/P Invoice based on 'GRPO'.

Limited Financial User licenses are only good for two weeks

I have repeatedly requested a license for a client who, according to their contractual info, both in my records and on the SAP B1 Portal 'Contractual Information' link, has
3 Professional Users and 3 Limited Financial Users.
Every time I get a license it is for 6 Professional Users, and it expires in 2 weeks because, so it says, I have exceeded my contractual license limitations.
I have been working with SAP Support but so far I do not have a fix. With Support, we have repeatedly deleted all previous systems for the client (both as Partner and as Customer S number), created one and only one new system, and submitted the request for 3 Professional Users and 3 Limited Financial Users.
And it still comes back with 6 Pros that expire in 2 weeks. I know that for now a Pro User is substituted 1 for 1 for the new limited license types, but why can't I get a permanent vs. a temporary 2 week license?
Please do not write and tell me how to delete a system or how to apply for a license, etc. I know how to do those things and I have walked through the entire process with SAP Support with me via Webex, and we don't get a permanent license. I just want to know if anybody has successfully got a standard license for the new limited types so I know that the process actually works. (Based on my experience, I don't think the Portal can handle the new license types. ) Then maybe Support and I can focus on a flaw in the contractual info as stored on the site, etc. as the source of my problem.

This is not a normal case. I have a lots of clients who are using limited license and their license are not expired .
Might be something happening with SAP recently because I haven't requested any license recently .
I had faced this issue one time when I didn't realise the date of expiration while ordering SAP license but I made correction and import it next time and it worked for me fine .
I am not sure how can i be of help but this certainly bring my attention and would definely like to know the solution

License type: Limited Financial User

Has anybody successfully applied for and received license keys for the new license type 'Limited Financial User'? I've tried twice and I keep getting back Pro Users instead, along with a scolding that I am exceding my contractual licenses.

Copy financial data and documents into a new version

Hello,
Does anybody know whether is possible to copy from one version into a new one all financial data
(including all posting levels) as well as all documents (including all posting levels).
There is a copy task where it is possible to copy financial data and documents, but the system only takes into consideration indivual values, not consolidated values.

Which version of B1 using? 2007/8.8
There is a documentation about the licenses.
CRM Sales User (Standalone) was an old systems, and in 8.8 Limited CRM User is a real license type, on 2007 is means professional user.

Limited Logistics users and User Defined Fields - UDF

The SAP "Overview of SAP Business One License User Types" shows, in the last section under General, that only Professional users have any access at all to User-defined fields and tables.
This seems counterintuitive as these fields are usually set up for others to see and to use.
What is the real scoop on this?

Hi Sal,
It only means Professional User License has unlimited usages of UDF & UDT including managing and defining them.
To read the values and use them are available to all license types.

General Settings not accessabel for Financial user

Experts,
I have a client who created a Limited Financial user and assigned this license to that User. The authorizations is also set to Full at General Settings.
But we get an error when that user wants to open the General Settings window in Administration. I tested this and gave this user Full authorization to everything and still get this error.
Any help would be appreciated.

If the paths in the General Settings need to be set per user, how can any user not have access to this? This Financial user cannot modify the paths to the Word or Excel folders.

I posted this answer to the same question about AppleWorks in the AppleWorks community two days ago.
I use iWork. The iWork applications - Keynote, Pages & Numbers - can only open AppleWorks 6 presentation, word processing & spreadsheet documents, respectively. They will not open any other type of AppleWorks 6 files or any AppleWorks 5 or any version of ClarisWorks files.
The third-party application, EazyDraw, can open AppleWorks draw documents. If you still have access to AppleWorks you can copy the contents of draw documents, paste them into an AppleWorks word processing document in object mode (click the arrow in the tool panel), save the WP document & then open it in Pages. You can copy & paste from AppleWorks to Pages but you would have to do it object by object or it will be one big uneditable object. Check Yvan Koenig's iDisk for many AppleScripts he has written to make conversion easier. Most are made to do batch conversions.
There is nothing other than AppleWorks that can open paint or database documents. Database data can be copied & pasted into an AppleWorks spreadsheet, saved & opened in Numbers or saved as ASCII/plain text & opened in most any spreadsheet, database or word processing program. Paint documents can be saved as one of many different formats to be opened in most image editing programs. I recommend using PICT or PNG for best results.
For a replacement for Quicken, I've narrowed my choices down to SEE Finance, Moneydance or Jumsoft's Money. I need to work with them more before I make my final decision. Mac | Life suggests SEE Finance as the best option.

Discount limits for users

I have a requirement which states that the status of a quotation in SAP CRM should change to 'X' when the discount on a line itemcrosses a certain limit. This limit would be specific to the user creating/editing the quotation. i.e. I need to configure discount limits for users and want the quotation status to be set based on whether the discount offered is within the limit of the current user. Please provide your inputs.

I would searck for appropriate badi that is triggered, when discount is set (check if badi CRM_PRICING_I_BADI is triggered at that moment).
Then you can use function CRM_STATUS_CHANGE_EXTERN to set appropriate status when conditions are met.
And of course you will have to put somewhere the info what discount limit is allowed for users. You can create Z table in which maintaine that data or use some user parameters...

Document drafts - Approvals

Hi
Need help regarding approval process and document drafts.
Our client had some purchase orders in the approval process. The purchase orders were approved and added.
WHen they look in the document drafts report they still see these documents as drafts. Now they want to remove these drafts. If they right-click on the document and select Remove they get a message "Cannot delete drafts in approval process"
If the drill down to the document its got a status of approved. WHen they click on Add it says " This document was already added after it was approved".
So how do we remove this document from the drafts?? The system is 2007A Patch 39

Hi Ashvin,
I have reproduced both error messages you are receiving. When a draft was approved and added, it didn't disappear from the draft report. If you try and re-add the document, and send it off for approval for a second time, then both erros will occur, regardless of whether or not you change the status.
This would appear to be a bug, as if a draft is approved and then added, it should disappear as a document draft.

Normally a person creates a draft document and when they are ready they publish it and the Approver approves it. However, what if a power user needs to be able to see all draft documents. Not just their own but other peoples'. What is the minimum permission
level that allows then to do this?

Per my knowledge, there is no minimum permission level that allow users to view their own and other people’s draft documents.
This is based on the Draft Item Security setting you choose for your list in Versioning Settings:

Yup. It means, in Limited Professional, you can display posted documents, view reports etc. & can create/change through single transaction, e.g. FB60. It is generally provided to management/heads.
Professional license is a fully functional license. You can use any transaction no matter if its create, change or display

I had a drive failure and lost the iWeb file along with other things. I did manage to save a lot of user file documents but I don't see or recognize the my iWeb site file. It was on a 15" G4 Titanium pb. I'm trying to find a way, using version 2.0.4

Unfortunately iWeb cannot read or import previously published files, only generate them. You'll have to recreate your site from scratch.
However, Chapter 2.3 on the iWeb FAQ.org site has tips on using some of the existing files, image, audio, video, etc., from the published site in the recreation of the site.

I'm a Dropbox user and I migrate between my iMac and a Toshiba notebook. Is there Apple software that will work on the notebook allowing me to open Pages, Numbers or Keynote documents that I've placed in Dropbox?

Maybe I should just always export from Pages into Word (and likewise for the other types) before I upload to Dropbox? I hope not!!

If you don't want to export files and consider the Microsoft formats to be your basic working format, then you need to consider either using MsOffice for Mac or LibreOffice instead of the iWork suite.
You could always run a virtualised OSX on the Toshiba, but I don't think Apple will appreciate me telling you how to do that.
