Limited number of albums per arti

I have a Zen Xtra 60GB. I've had it for just about 2 years now. Use it almost daily with not a single problem. I was wondering..... I went and ripped our entire collection of Christmas CD's into mp3 format at 92kb
ps.
To keep them located all in the same?place on my player, I made it so that the artist on all of them was "Christmas". I then named the albums with the artist and album name such as "Bing Crosby - Old Time Christmas". I ended up with 36 albums (62 songs) - ALL with "Christmas" as the artist in their tags. When I loaded them onto the player, 30 of them were under the artist "Christmas". 6 of them were placed under the artist "Christmas/Christmas". What's up with that? I doublechecked the albums listed under "Christmas/Christmas" and they all have "Christmas" as the artist in their tags. Is there a maximum number of albums that you can have under artist?Thanks!

So apparently no one has had this happen before?........
Anyway, I removed the whole "Christmas" artist from the player and then reloaded them album at a time to see if it made any difference. The same 6 albums again came up on the player as artist "Christmas/Christmas".
So using Media Source I just went and did a "edit artist" on those files to change them to "Christmas". Worked fine and now all 36 albums show up under the artist "Christmas". .... I still wonder why it did this? It was no problem fixing it, but why did it happen in the first place?Things that make you?go hmmmmmm.

  • Number of albums per artist is wrong on my iPad's artist overview page

    My music is all there, but on my artist overview page, it is showing artist with more albums than they have. It only seems to effect artist which have songs from more than one album.
    My iPad had a more major problem so I had to take it too Apple who replaced it. When I restored the new iPad from a backup, it was running iOS 5 p, which there was no problem with. The next day, I upgraded to iOS 6 again, and the problem was back.
    I have tried deleting effected music, and re-downloading from iTunes (on my iPad) with no effect. So then I deleted all the music, and synced it back own with my computer. No effect.
    I was wondering if anyone else was having this problem, and if so if they managed to fix it?
    I I'm also having a problem where, when I click on March 2013 on my calendar in month mode, or switch to month mode when in March 2013, it glitches and immediately takes me to the home screen. It doesn't effect any other month, or any other March, just March 2013. This problem appeared in iOS 5 about a month back (could have been there longer, just hadn't realised).
    The reason I'm telling you is if it is linked in someway and if there is a easy fix for both.
    Thanks in advance, Alexandros Theodorou

    Well, considering that Apple hasn't even acknowledged the problem yet, I wouldn't hold my breath. Don't get me wrong, I still love iTunes, but things have been getting progressively worse, not better. I’ve had more issues with this db in the last year, then I’ve had in the last decade.
    I don't even use services such as iTunes Match, Genius, Shared Libraries, etc. However, I can understand those who do. But what annoys me is, don't alienate your long-standing customers in favor of half-baked services that compromise an already great product. A lot of us have huge libraries and spent years building them. When you start experiencing issues like purchased tracks vanishing w/o explanation, album counts that aren't even close, meta-data changing on its own when playing a track, and dozens of albums being split into 2 and 3 parts just because you made an update... well, sorry, but that's just slopping coding.
    Here are just a few of the issues I've encountered within the last 12-15 months:
    1) Album Artwork duplicating itself, disappearing, or not transferring correctly to iOS devices. (Resolution: Finally resolved by Apple)
    2) Purchased tracks vanishing w/o explanation. Example: Dixie Chicks "The Neighbor" just removed itself from my music library on July 1st, 2012. Ironically enough, the track is no longer available for purchase in the iTunes Store, it's not available under my "cloud purchases", and support was not able to restore, this otherwise rare, track. I was told I must have inadvertently deleted it. Not to sound paranoid here, but the last time I checked, the deletion process requires two steps; one to remove from the library and a second to delete the file permanently. Even stranger is that an “empty” track folder for this song remains and if you’re aware how iTunes works, you know that if you confirm the deletion, the folder is also removed. Support couldn’t explain that one (Resolution: None)
    3) Albums being split into two, three, four separate files because you update a track or change a value, even though the album name is identical, the track numbers are correct, and the Album Artist values match. (Workaround: Completely rename the entire album and all its “newly created parts” to something stupid, such as “Test”. Then highlight all the tracks and change them back to the correct Album name. Suddenly, you're back to all tracks being listed as one album.)
    4) Metadata (genre, title, etc.) on purchased tracks reverts back to its original value after you click play. Never happened before, now suddenly it’s a constant problem. (Resolution: Trick out the db like above, by chosing a different Genre or other value. Click through each track, then switch the Genre back to your original change.)
    5) And lastly, the aforementioned “Album Count” issue.
    That said, forgive my rant here, but I’m just getting a bit frustrated with the sloppiness lately. I know Apple can do better... (And yes, I’m running the latest version of iTunes, I’ve played with settings, tried restoring iTunes and my iOS devices, etc.)

  • What is the limit to the number of Albums in iPhoto '11?

    Anybody know how many albums you can define?

    One caveat to the number of albums per library:  I've run into problems ordering the albums as displayed in my iPhone photos app when the album number reached some point that I'm not sure of:  there doesn't seem to be a way to count the albums, rather than manually.  Somewhere over 100 albums but less than 150, the sync got wonky:  all the 9000 images sync properly, and all the albums, but they won't show up in the order I set up on the computer when viewed on the phone--which makes finding the most recent albums to show people a little tricky.
    I have a related question:  any idea how to tell how many albums there are in a library, besides counting them manually?

  • Organizing albums per year in my iPod

    Friends,
    I find that organizing albums per year is much more convenient than by alphabetical order.
    And makes much more sense, to me.
    Now this is no problem when you're in iTUnes, as you can visualize all your music both ways, per year, alphabetically (and many more, actually.
    But when I'm listening through my iPod???
    my iPod organizes albums alphabetically by default.
    In order to have an artist's albums organizes by year, I see no way but adding the year in front of the title.
    1961 - Bob Dylan
    1962 - Freewheelin
    1963 - The Times They Are a-Changin'
    and so on.
    Which works ok, but it's definitely ugly.
    Let alone the fact that I cannot browse them alphabetically anymore and I find myself having an infinite lists of dates instead of a list of titles.
    Is there a way to tell my iPod to organize my albums by year even if the *physical number* is not printed in the title?
    (the way you do when you're in iTunes)
    Hope I've been clear
    Thanks a lot for any answer.
    Beppe

    I've been wanting to do that too.
    I haven't tried this yet, but give it a whirl. Before the title of each album by an artist, put a letter in front. For instance, if you have ten albums under Dylan, put the letter "A" in front of the title of the earliest album, "B" in front of his second and so on.
    Searching by album would not work, but I never do that anyway. I usually go to the artist first, then look for the album.

  • Max Number of threads per Process in Solaris 8

    I'm running into qpplication which crashes with a segfault when the LWP for that process hits about 255, i'm trying to find the maximum number of threads per process using sysconf and its returning -1

    Also the maximum number of open files per process.
    Thanks in advance

    Please make sure that you build a
    multithreaded program first (check with ldd).
    If anyone can tell me the maximum number of threads per process I would
    really appreicate it.
    Also the maximum number of open files per process. It depends on the architecture (x86/SPARC), OS version,
    64 or 32-bit, /etc/system, shell limitations (/usr/bin/ulimit) ...
    Search for "rlim_fd_max / rlim_fd_cur" on docs.sun.com too.

  • How do I limit the number of measures per line in Logic Pro score editor

    I would like to control the number of measures per line in Logic Pro X Score  Editor, currently it puts random numbers of measures per line depending on the accumulated lenth of the measures per line, as if looking for "the best fit". Any ideas how to force four measures per line in my finished score?

    Thanks, This solved my problem, the only thing I still needed to do was to find out how to open the Global format window. I fugured it out by opening the Score editor window / Layout / global format /then I saw the Max # of barlines. If you just go to the Logic Pro / Preferences then you never get to see the global format window unless you know to hit the "Score Project Settings" button on the bottom. But at least you showed me that there was such a option which limited the number of measures so I keep on trying until I fould how to reveal that option. Thanks !

  • CANOpen Library - Limited number of PDOs ?

    Hello,
    Here's my story :
            I have a CAN network grouping 13 CANOpen nodes ( motors, I/Os, pneumatic valves ) and a NI pcmcia adapter in my PC. I use LV 7.1 and the CANOpen library to build a nice application to automate all this.
            For each of 10 of this nodes, I declared ( and I need ) 2 RXPDOs and 3 TXPDOs.
            Actually, I am facing an error message ( PDO create from CANOpen library ) saying that I've reached the software/firmware memory limit ( of the pcmcia board I suppose ) and that I should reduce the size of the PDO queues or reduce the number of CANOpen objects... For each PDO, I set the buffer size at 2 frames which is not a lot in my point of view. I cannot reduce the number of CANOpen objects because I need them...
            What is the exact limit with my hardware ?
            Can my configuration handle 4 TPDOs and 4 RPDOs for each node ( in case I'd like to ) ?
    Another question :
             In my LV code, I created a cluster for each node storing a SDO handle ( CANOpen object ), 4 RPDO handles and 4 TPDO handles. I initialize them calling "create SDO" and "create PDO" at start up if I need them otherwise I let them to a default value (0). What do you think about this ? Can this be the source of the error message ?
    Thanks in advance for your answer

    Hi,
    The CANopen Library is based on the NI CAN driver. Because of the tight timing needs for SDO communication and the need to send periodic frames some library functions are using objects for communication. Objects are able run directly on the hardware, thus they can meet these strict timing issues. The bad thing is, they are limited in number to 50 per NI CAN device. That includes one per Port configuration, thus for a 2 port board , if you configure both ports there are 48 objects left for both ports together.
    The second limitation applies to the shared memory between board and driver. The driver can configure approx. 300 messages for queues for the board, shared between 2 ports if available.
    Now if you know this you can calculate the number of SDOs and PDOs you can configure until the mentioned error occurs.
    Ok , you are right, we need to know how many messages the particular functions configure for queues.
    Thats something we find from the NI SPY. The Tool gets installed with NI CAN and allows you to log all API Calls to certain drivers including NI CAN.
    The configuration api call tells us from the buffer page the size for Read and Write Queue configured with property 80000013 and 80000014. If you switch to AttrPtr. you can see the qeuesizes in hex at the same location.
    Now you can see that the CANopen Interface Create allocates 100 frames for the read Queue and 10 Frames for the Write Queue. This numbers are used to read all incoming frames and write all nonperiodic frames which are not configured with objects, like the NMT commands or RX PDOs.
    The SDO create takes internally 10 frames for the Read Queue only, because it needs to buffer the answers only.
    The TX PDO is created as an object but does per default not use any queue internally . But as you mentioned, you can configure a buffer size, which is the same queue.
    That means it is highly recommended to use one port devices or one port only for a 2 port device only, because you need 110 messages for the port configuration already.
    For SDOs i would recommend to close the handle if you have used the SDO and do not need it anymore. That frees the memory (10 messages ) for other operations.
    For PDOs i would recommend to use buffer size 0. That means you allways read the most recent value. I never needed a queue for my applications, but thats somewhat your decision. Within the configuration cluster you find the rx or tx PDO List control. This List triggers internally the COB ID you are using for the PDO. We configured four in each direction because it is likely that you canopen node uses these IDs which often are mapped by default.
    But if you need more then 4 PDOs you can use tx PDO 1 for example more then once, but you have to enter a valid COB ID by your own. That overwrites the default COB ID.
    See the attached example for LabVIEW, for details.
    But back to your problem: Lets calculate, which limit you reached first. 10 nodes with  3 Tx PDOs and 1 SDO. Here are the numbers: 60 messages and 30 Objects for the PDOs 100 messages and 10 objects for the SDOs and the Port configuration with 110 messages and 1 object.
    Thus you have 270 messages queue size and 41 objects.
    Thats not really the limity but it is near the limit and likely to cause the error with the next configuration step.
    I would  recommend the following:
    1. use one port only.
    2. close SDO handles after using them.
    3. use PDO buffer 0.
    Or use multiple boards . ;-)
    Hope that helps
    DirkW

  • How to find the number of records per months  in cube

    Hi,
      how to find the number of records per months for my all cubes?
      Can i use the ListCube transaction to find totl number f records per cube monthwise ?
    Jimmy

    Hi,
    Here is a program to generate no of records and list of ODS and Cubes in Active version.Schedule this program in background and create a cube to load this information and schedule to the data from the file generated by the program. Schedule this all per you requirement.
    1.Copy the code into your Z<programname> from Se38.
    2.change the FILENAME in CALL FUNCTION 'GUI_DOWNLOAD' in the program to the location from where you can pick the information to load data to cube(eg Application server).
    3.Save program.
    4.Schedule the program in background as required
    5.Create cube with infoobjects to hold no of records and Infoprovider name
    6.Load this cube based on event after the program job is done.
    Hence you can report on this cube to see no of records in  CUBE or ODS in your box.
    Please find the code below.

  • How to submit a bug report for OSB? - restore fails if number of items per page is changed from the default of 30

    In the OSB web gui, one of my users found that if the number of items per page is changed from the default of 30, the restore of the file will fail.  He tested this using recent versions of Firefox and IE.  We have verified this to also be the case using Chrome.
    In a directory containing over 100,000 files, moving 30 at a time to find the one to be restored is a very frustrating user experience.
    How do I file a bug report for this issue?  Is there a workaround for this bug to enable my users to more easily find the file to restore without being restricted to the default of 30 items per page?

    Yes there is a bug in the webtool in the current release. You can use the commandline obtool to do the restore, that is much faster and works fine.
    Thanks

  • How can I re-establish the notification of the number of mails per folder?

    The number of emails per folder always was shown in thunderbird but with the last updates regularly is lost. In the past the columns shown with the folders could be chosen - how can this be done in the new version (v.24.6.0 under windows 8.1)?

    Do you have this add-in installed:
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/addon/extra-folder-columns/
    I've never had problems displaying the columns, with various TB versions or themes, but maybe you have another add-on that is causing the problem, or your pane layout has changed. What happens if you re-install the EFC add-on?

  • How to set the number of rows per page dynamically

    Hello all,
    i urgent need the option to set the number of rows per page dynamically.
    I've got a parameter.
    In dependence of the value of this paramter i want to set the number of rows per page of a repeating frame.
    The Reports Builder version i use is 10.1.2.0.2
    I defined a report trigger.
    My code so far:
    function R_G_BEMERKUNGFormatTrigger return boolean is
    begin
    if :vYN_Display_one_per_page = 'Y' then
    --what i've to write right here??
    return (TRUE);
    else
         return (TRUE);
    end if;
    return (TRUE);
    end;
    Can anyone help me please??
    Best regards
    Florian

    Do you just need to change back and forth between 1 and some other number? If so, you can create two identical layouts, one with the "number of rows per page" preperty (on the repeating frame) set to 1 and the other layout set to whatever. You would have to have duplicate layouts for each group you wanted to do this with. Your format trigger on the outermost master group frame where num of rows was 1 would look like:
    function M_G_ename_GRPFRFormatTrigger return boolean is
    begin
      if :vYN_Display_one_per_page = 'Y'  then
        return (TRUE);
      else
        return (FALSE);
      end if;
    end;Your format trigger on the outermost master group frame where num of rows was whatever would look like:
    function M_G_ename_GRPFR1FormatTrigger return boolean is
    begin
      if :vYN_Display_one_per_page = 'N'  then
        return (TRUE);
      else
        return (FALSE);
      end if;
      return (TRUE);
    end;

  • Limit the number of session per user in the Wired dot1x environment with ISE 1.2

    Hello,
    I need to check if there is any configuration/workaround to limit the number of sessions/access per user in the Wired dot1x configuration.
    I need to check if this feature is available or not to solve the following scenario:
    I have 2 SW ports configured to use dot1x authentication with ISE 1.2 server.
    If user A connects to the 1st port and authenticated then he will placed on a VLAN based on the authorization profile.
    The case, that I need to deny the same user to connect on a different machine with the same credentials.
    The ISE itself does not have this feature currently,  the only feature available is to limit the number of sessions for the guest user.
    Is there any workaround on the Cisco switches to solve this? Cisco WLC has this feature and for the VPN we can limit the number of sessions also from the ASA itself.
    Thanks.

    limit number of session per user using wired dot1x is not available in 1.3

    Hello cpreasbeck,
    Thank you for contacting Apple Support Communities.
    I was able to find the following transition guide for Xserve that provides some workload guidance to determine performance when planning a server deployment.
    Transition Guide Xserve
    http://images.apple.com/xserve/pdf/L422277A_Xserve_Guide.pdf
    On page 9, Performance there is a chart that provides maximum numbers of connected users for various activities such as file sharing, mail, web, calendar, directory services and Time Machine and the CPU used as a server (Xserve, Mac Pro, Mac Mini). This information is a bit dated as the referenced software is Snow Leopard Server (OS X 10.6), and the hardware is older also, but it should give you a general idea of what you might need to look for.
