Limiting mail from a specific sender

Is there a way to tell mail to keep only the most recent email from a specific sender?  Can this be automated?

And, I just figured it out with a particular combination of mail rules.

  • Can have an e mail from a specific sender bypass the do not disturb?

I just switched from a blackberry curve to an I-5.  On my berry I could set it up where e mails from one specific sender would alert me no matter what audilble setting I had selected. I would like to know if I can configure the I-5 so that only e mail from a specific sender is allowed to alert me when I am on do not disturb

Did you try to use the keyboard to paste?
    * Copy: Ctrl+C or Ctrl+Insert
    * Paste: Ctrl+V or Shift+Insert
    * Cut: Ctrl+X or Shift+Delete
Just above the textarea that you use to enter the message text on the "Compose New Mail page" there is usually a button bar with buttons to add text formatting like Bold and Italic.<br />
That toolbar may also have a button to turn a text link into a clickable hyperlink (look for a chain like button).<br />
You can select the text and click that button to turn the link into a clickable hyperlink.<br />
If you can't find the button then hover them all to check the tooltip of each (e.g. Insert hyperlink).<br />

  • HT1277 Help-i am not recieving e-mails from a specific sender, even after adding them to my contacts.

I am not recieving messages from a specific sender.  I have added to my contacts, but nothing is recieved.

    Tell us more.
Was it once working and then failed, or has it never worked?
When you try to send mail, do you get an error message, or does the message just sit in the outbox?
What steps have you already take to resolve this, and what results have you achieved?
For example, did you check with bellnet.ca administrators or knowledgebase to see what the proper outbound SMTP server address and settings are, then verify the contents of Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > {bellnetaccount} > Account > Advanced > Mail > Outgoing Mail Server > SMTP > Primary Server > {servername} match that?
(Yes, those settings are buried deep and hard to find at this point. It would have been easier to set them on the initial creation of the account.)

  • Apple Mail: Cannot receive mail from a specific sender.

Mail from a long-time correspondent does not show up in my In Box. Nor in the Junk Mail Box.
Sender sends e-mail to me to several of my addresses, but still no luck.
    Any ideas will be appreciated!

Hi Edward, do you have any rules setup?
If you use a browser & go to your WebMail site are they showing there?
Are these POP or IMAP accounts?
Not certain, but this can fix myriad Mail problems...
Safe Boot from the HD, (holding Shift key down at bootup),  it will try to repair your Disk Directory while the spinning radian is happening, so let it go, run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, then move this folder & file to the Desktop.
Move this Folder to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Caches/Mail/
Move this file to the Desktop...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/Envelope Index
    Reboot.
If that doesn't do it and you can afford to redo all your Rules, try these & reboot...
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist
    /Users/YourUserName/Library/Mail/MessageRules.plist.backup

  • Routing messages from a specific sender to a folder in Mail

Can I have Mail messages from a specific sender sent or copied to a dedicated folder automatically?
    Thanks.

    Hi Edward,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
You can use rules in Mail to do exactly that. See this article for more information:

  • On the iPhone, if you move an e-mail from the In box to Junk, will iPhone automatically place future e-mails from the same sender into Junk? In other words, can you teach iPhone to recognize Junk as you do on a Mac?

On the iPhone, if you move an e-mail from the In box to Junk, will iPhone automatically place future e-mails from the same sender into Junk? In other words, can you teach iPhone to filter out Junk as you do on a Mac?

I don't think so, you would need to set that on your browser when you log into your email account.

  • Picking mails from a particular sender using mail sender adapter

    Hi Everyone,
I want to create a scenario in which i want to pick mails from a particular sender and send it to XI.
I don't want all the unread mails to be sent to XI but only those belonging from a particular sender.
How should i configure the mail sender adapter to achieve the same.
    Thanks and Regards
    Rahul Nawale

    Hi,
there are two ways to do that:
    not standard:
create a java proxy which will check your maibox for mails
from only one particular sender and then send messages
    to the xi
    more standard:
create a new accound and redirect your mails from a particular sender from the main mailbox to this new one
and poll from this new one only...
this way you'll be able to use atandard mail adapter
    with no changes at all

  • Is there a way to stop Mail from trying to send?

Is there a way to stop Mail from trying to send? (Poor thing has been trying for a day and a half. I'd like to put it out of its misery.)

What options do you have if you right click on the pending email.
Just why is that mail not being sent? That is the real problem. Something isn't correct with your email outgoing settings making sending any emails impossible.

  • Have been advised to delete my outbox as a way of stopping Mail from trying to send. How do I delete the outbox?

I've been advised to delete my outbox as a way of stopping Mail from trying to send. How do I delete my outbox?

Actually, i had already deleted the emails trying to be sent in the outbox, which didn't work. What did work was going to Mail>Window>Activity and stopping the sending from there. Thank you for replying.

  • Incoming mail from a known Sender intercepted by an OLD mail!?

    Hello,
I tried to find my problem in the forums, but it seems that I am the only one.
Recently and sporadically when I receive an e-mail from a known Sender, his/her name appears and the Subject line of this mail.
However, in the body of the mail there is some Junk mail from 2012 that hides somewhere in my computer, MacBook Pro.(Maverick)
So, this does not happen all the time as I said...
The same mail comes perfectly OK on my iPhone. So, what I need to do is forward this mail from my iPhone to to another mail account of mine (on MacBook Pro) in order to be able to read it properly.
This happens only with one mail account. (out of many (8) I have in my Mail App).
Has anyone had this problem, please? I would appreciate any feedback.  Thanks!
    Best regards,
    Ivan

  • Can't download attachments from a specific sender in outlook 2003

All of a sudden I can't download any attachments from a specific sender that I was able to before, no changes have been made and I can download/save attachments from other senders.

    Hi,
Please using OWA to download/save attachments for testing.
If it is working in OWA, it should be an issue on the Outlook Client side.
Please run Outlook under safe mode to avoid some AVs, add-ins and firewall for testing.
Please re-create a profile to refresh the caches for testing.
Can other recipients download/save attachments from the specific sender?
If all users cannot download/save the attachments from the specific sender, it seems that there maybe some Security issue on the attachments or the specific sender.
Please check whether there is any related Transport Rules applied, as Administrator, if possible.
Please also verify whether the attachments' size bigger than the attachment size limit.
Please also select some related App logs for the further troubleshooting.
    Hope it is helpful
    Thanks

  • TS3276 What if you're not receiving email from a specific sender?

For some reason, I cannot receive email from a specific sender. I can send it to her, if she sends it back, I do not receive it.
If she sent to four people, and I was one of them, I won't receive email but others will and if the others try to forward that email
to me, I won't receive it but I will receive separate emals from them. Why is this?

Have you checked you junk folder on the computer. Also, check spam folders at your email provider's website. Also check any settings that may exclude this sender.
If the sender in your Address Book. Make sure they are so they will be excluded from junk filtering.
Also, check any rules that could delete or junk message from this sender or content it may contain.

  • How to stop Mail from searching for sender's image?

When I'm going through messages in Mail, it won't display the message in the preview pane for several seconds until it completes the "Searching for sender's image" process. I have a large address book with several thousand entries. Is there a way to prevent Mail from searching for the contact's image in the Address Book? This wasn't an issue in 10.4.11.

The iPhone data plans are unlimited, so you shouldnt be concerned about cost. That being said, it is ANNOYING to have all accounts (I have six) check email just because I launch the mail app. And if I follow a URL in an email to Safari, then come back to Mail, it checks AGAIN.
Nope, there is not way to stop if from doing that short of turning the account OFF under Mail Settings, which is even MORE inconvenient. I went to http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphone.html and left them a message. Perhaps you should do the same.

  • Junk Mail from a specific individual making me insane....how can I block it

I'm getting junk mail from a friend of a friend, and I mark his messages as junk EVERY TIME I GET ONE. Yet, somehow, alas, every message from him gets through to my inbox. How can this (and a homicide) be prevented? If you mark a message "Junk" why is the very next message from the exact same sender not Junk? Is this a Mac virus? What do I have to do? He is not in my address book, nor is the setting checked to receive messages always from senders in my address book.
I'm seriously going to drop an atom bomb on this guy if his junk mail keeps arriving......he is a mo-ron who barely knows how to use a computer. I'm not calling him.
    PLEASE HELP ME......PLEASE....

Its because you have his email or other contact information set in the "Previous recipients" list. To remove him from this list, go to the "Window" menu and choose "Previous Recipients." Then locate and remove all instances of his name and email, and try adding him to the junk mail list again.
Another option is to create a rule that recognizes his email address and moves his email to the trash or Junk Mail folder.
Lastly, you might as well just ask him to remove you from his email list...
