  • How to plot Actual and Target on the same line chart in webi

    Hi,
We have a requirement where we need to plot a graph on webi. The data is something like:-
    Month     Regional Office     Actual      Target
    12014     Midwest               768          876
    22014     Eastern               1908          1876
    Can anyone please suggest something.
    Regards
    Shirley

    Hi Shirley Ray,
May i know the exact requirement...
IF you want to show the data in graph, its just simple
you can show regional office and month on  x axis, measure on y axis like below chart.
right click on table and convert it into column chart.

  • Legend for a line chart displaying incorrectly

    Hi All,
I am working with a line chart in webi XI R2. for example conssider the island resort marketing universe. we have 3 resort names like bahamas,US,France and the corresponding "revenue"  for year 1999,2000,2001. Now i want a line chart for each resort and another line for sum of all the revenue.
So my final line chart contains 4 lines, one each for bahamas,US,France for 1999,2000,2001. and 4 line is sum of all revenues (for all resorts) in 1999,2000,2001.
I have used a "vertical line mixed" chart for this. All the graph lines are displaying correctly but the legend is displaying wrongly.
    Please advise.

    Hi Raveendra,
I guess its the 4th line i.e. sum af all revenue that you have added in the same chart is causing the problem.
My solution is why dont you try and put the sum of all revenue in other chart on the same report.
May this would help resolve your legend problem.
If you can give the exact details like what attributes you have selected while running the query and how did you added the sum of all revenue in your chart being more specific, would rather help a bit better in solving the problem.
    Thanks,

          Is it possible in WEBI?
Is it possible to create combinational graphs in WEBI like Area Line, Markers chart etc. Apart from Bar and Line.

  • Trendline on Line Chart

Could anyone tell me how can i mark a trendline on Line chart in WEBI. I don't find any way of marking a trendline on Line chart
    Thanks for any response

    Arif,
By trendline what do you mean by that?  There are a couple of approaches that folks take in a trendline by using either a running average or a running sum.  Both of these functions are available in WebI, however, the key is to use the ";col" portion at the end of your formula so that it gets plotted correctly in your graph.  The ";col" portion is not required in a strictly grid representation, but when you turn the grid to a graph then ";col" is required.  If you have a requirement other than running average or running sum please post back so that we can brainstorm more.
    Thanks,

  • Dynamic X axis in line chart

    Hi All,
I'm making a line chart in Webi in which different lines represent different products.  On the Y axis I have a measure (no problems here) and on the X axis I have months.  Naturally, different products enter the chart at different points along the X axis because they didn't all enter the portfolio at the same time as you can see in the print screen.  My problem is though, that I want the start point for all of the lines in the chart to be at the X-Y intersect, not the month that they actually started.  The values for the X axis should then be 1 - 24 or something similar to cover a 2 year period. Newer products would then have a line that stopped at some point in the middle of the chart, rather than one that started in the middle.
I've been trying to create a new variable where min([Month]) is equal to 1 and then each month after that would be +1, but I'm not having any luck.
Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

    Hi Jeremy,
Thanks for your tip.  I've created a new variable to calculate the months between the very first date and the product specific dates, and then subtracted the difference so that all products start at the same date in the new variable.  But it still leaves me with the same problem as I had with the count variable earlier. When I place the new variable on the chart it returns a multivalue error.  Any idea on how I could get around this? In table format it looks like this:
Table 1 with original month and new variable
Table 2 with only new variable
    Table 3 desired outcome

  • Combination stacked bar and line chart

Is there a way to create a combination stacked bar and line chart in Web Intelligence XI R2 reports?
This can be done in Excel and I'm thinking that it should be possible in WebI reports too.
    Thanks

    JL07:
This capability is not currently available in WebI (though it is available in Crystal).  Last fall I submitted this as an enhancement request.  It is being tracked under the following enhancement request:  ADAPT00676609 u2013 for the stacked bar chart, line graph issue.

  • How to add a baseline in a line graph in Web Intelligence?

Is there a way to add a baseline in a line chart in Web Intelligence just like adding a custom Y-Axis grid line in Crystal Reports?

    Tony,
like adding a custom Y-Axis grid line in Crystal Reports
Nope, not a feature.  However, if you "play" with building a column of numbers and use the Vertical and Bar Line Chart feature, you might be able to simulate a "baseline"......

  • Web Application Designer (Line Charts-Data Points)

    Hi
I have to display the query in WEB as a Line Chart
The Query is on Cal Day Vs Mean Value
The user enter the Cal Day (From/To)..the Line chart is supposed to display mean Value on No of Cal Days users choosed.
In query created variable for Cal Day..but how can i define the Data Points for the chart in the Web designer.
Bydefault we have to specift no of data points we required..how can i change that to be based on the range user entered
    Than ks

    Hi Krishna,
When you define a chart, you define a number of series, but when you run the WAD, it takes the number of series it has the query.

  • Problem - over lie of data series in Line chart (Web Application Designer)

    Dear Experts,
I have created a chart with below requiments from my user by using web application designer.
    1) Key Figure 1 (Chart type -> column )
    2) Key Figure 2 (Chart type -> column )
    3) Key Figure 3 (Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> BLACK;    Visibility: Visible)
    4) Key Figure 4 (Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> YELLOW; Visibility: Visible/Hidden)
    5) Key Figure 5 (Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> RED;         Visibility: Visible/Hidden)
The line chart of Key Figure 3 must always appear in Front then others Key Figures.
Then following by, Key Figure 4. Last is Key Figure 5.
As I know the order of display line chart is infflucing by the order of Key Figure in structure by descending, likes below
    1) Key Figure 3 (Rank of front -> 3rd; Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> BLACK;    Visibility: Visible)
    2) Key Figure 4 (Rank of front -> 2nd; Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> YELLOW; Visibility: Visible/Hidden)
    3) Key Figure 5 (Rank of front -> 1st; Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> RED;         Visibility: Visible/Hidden)
So, I have conflict on fulfilling these 2 request on assigning the color and control their visibility and lines over lie.
Please advice me if you have any suggestion on controlling the lines order.
    Thanks!

    Hi Priya, thanks for input.
I think I should further elaborate the problems. Thanks for your highlight.
I have a lines chart with five key figures. So my chart will have five lines.
Some lines from chart will overlap if the data are same.
When overlapping of lines happens, I want to control the order of which series should be appear first.
    Likes below example,
    1) Key Figure 1 (Chart type -> column )
    2) Key Figure 2 (Chart type -> column )
    3) Key Figure 3 (Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> BLACK; Visibility: Visible)
    4) Key Figure 4 (Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> YELLOW; Visibility: Visible/Hidden)
    5) Key Figure 5 (Chart type -> Line; color assigned -> RED; Visibility: Visible/Hidden)
               KF1  KF2  KF3  KF4  KF5
    CW 1    30     30    80    80    50
    CW 2    40     50    90    60    90
    CW 3    70     50    90    90    90
    CW 4    80     70    70    90    70
As you can see, there is overlap in these value.
    CW 1 KF3, KF4  -->80
    CW 2 KF3, KF5 --> 90
    CW 3 KF3, KF4, KF5 --> 90
The order which i want the series should appear first when overlapping.
    - KF3 must appear on top.
    - Then, follow by KF5
    - Last is KF4.
So now, i have no idea to control the overlap orders except adjusting the sequence of keyfigure from query.
Feel free to give me any input!

  • Webi Line Chart to Start from Axis Origin

    Hi,
Need a quick help in BI4.0 webi line chart formatting.
I have datetime on x-axis and cash flow on Y-axis.
Say my cash flow starts at 9am on a day with $100 , my line chart starts the plot from 9am i.e. (9am,$100)
instead I want the line plot to always start from (0,0)
This is probably a chart option, but i dont find it.

    Hi Thangaraj,
I have a similar requirement for a line chart to start from 0,0. while its min value is greater than 0.
We are on BO 4.1 SP4  and there is no direct chart option for this.
I would like to know whether you were able to achieve this in web intelligence.
    I really appreciate your reply.
    Thanks,
    Sri

  • Is it possible to hide part of the line in webI line chart

I had webI line chart which is showing for 2 months data, and is it possible to hide the line for only first 10 days in the line chart and continue the line after 11 th day till the end?

@rajesh:  I didn't understand why should we use Relativedate() function?can you please explain little bit more. Becuase the report has customer exit written such a way that if I run the report today it will show up previous 60 days
    For example:
    today is 04/06/2011
so in the report date column has values and shows up like
    02/06/2011
    02/07/2011
    02/08/2011
    04/05/2011.
So now I should hide/avoid/shouldn't show First 10 days. In example above 02/06/2011, 02/07/2011,02/08/2011.....like wise 10 days so till 02/16/2011 shouldn't be shown in the report. The beginning of the report should start from 02/17/2011 till 04/05/2011..

  • Adding a Goal Line to a chart in Webi

    Post Author: geozuh
    CA Forum: WebIntelligence Reporting
Does anyone know how to add a goal line to a chart created in WEbi? It seems like this would be a standard option.

    Post Author: jsanzone
    CA Forum: WebIntelligence Reporting
    geozuh,
You would think that adding a goal line to a WebI report would be an available option within the software package, but it is not (but this sure sounds like a viable enhancement, so hopefully some of the Business Objects Enhancement Gurus are listening in).
It should be possible with a bit of fiddling with data in your database to create a "reference-type" table that could mimic all of the data values present but you would "plug" a metric-type column with the goal.  For instance, on your bar graph you have x and y coordinates.  The x could be the total sales by year, the y is the items (I know, I should be using an example from E-Fashion, but I'm not up-to-speed on it).  In your "reference-type" table you would replicate all of the year and item data and create a new column (perhaps called "goal") which you plug with the goal value.  In your universe you can link the two tables and when the report runs, voila you have all of your data.  Now you can use the "vertical bar and line" graph to plot your old x and y and use z for the goal.  Just a thought, and I know, "it's the long road to China", but hopefully you've got some ideas to tool with now.

  • Web I line chart formatting

hi all, I am trying all my best for webI line chart formatting but I don't see much options, quick question is there any button or tool box for formatting  WebI line chart except properties tab???
and my requirement is, usually when i turn  table to line chart by default  X-axis will be lower side and Y-axis will start from left end of X-axis and stand perpendicular to it. But what I need is X-axis should remain same but Y-axis should start from right end of x-axis.
In short and clear Point of intersection of X and Y axis is left end of x-axis but I need point of intersection should be right end of X-axis line. are there any formatting tips???

    Hi,
    Follow the below steps.
    1) Create a dummy measure variable with name  ' (Comma) and formula value is =0. (Variable name is ' because if you put any other name that will come  in the Legend and its a dummy objects)
2)Select the bar and line graph and put the dummy variable in the Y axis and Y axis value in the Z axis.
    3) After that no value  will show in the Y axis and your Z axis value show the line graph.
    Hope this will help you.
    Thanks,
    Amit

  • Query for 'User Activity' Webi Line Chart using BO4.0 Auditor

Need to create a webi line chart to measure  ‘user activity’ per month, year or day using BO4.0 Auditor on Oracle.
    This question raises two sub-questions:
What actions constitute user activity?  Is it concurrent logins by users?   I am confused if that would really give a true picture of user activity as users can log in and do nothing on the BO system.
If concurrent logins do in fact give a true picture of user activity then how do I go about creating a chart? What objects do I need to include in query?
    Please provide feedback?
    Thank u.

    Hi Ramil,
Follow below steps to create a webi report for your requirement, launch Webi rich client and create a new webi report by selecting "BOEXI40-Audit-Oracle" (Audit universe)
    1) Select below objects in 'Result Objects' pane
[Event Year], [Event MonthName],[Event DayofMonth], [Event Type], [User Name], [Total Event Count]
    2) Define below conditions in "Query Filter" pane
[Event Type Id] In list 1015 AND [Event Year] In list "Select Year" (Prompt)
    3) Run query
    4) At report level create a new variable of type measure with the name "User Activity" with below formula
    =Count([Total Event Count]In([User Name];[Event MonthName];[Event DayOfMonth]) )
(This formula will track  logout event of a each user in a day as well as in a month, it will take/count only one log out event of the user in a day as you desire)
    5) Create a table block as well as graphs as you desire
    i) For day wise user activity create a table/graph using: [Event DayofMonth], [User Activity]
ii) For month wise user activity create a table/graph using: [Event MonthName], [User Activity]
Let me know if you have any questions
