Line drag when drawing in CS5 with a Wacom

I am drawing with a brush, using either an Intuos or a Cintiq. Once I have completed one stroke, I lift the pen, place it in a new position, to begin the next stroke. A glitch mistakenly joins the last stroke and the new one wiith a straight line which appears as soon as I start the new line. This happens wether I am using constrained (option key) stroke or not. Why am I having this problem?

1GB of RAM seemed to be the average on computers when I bought it, about a year ago. I actually have Photoshop CS4 running and using up less memory than Photoshop Elements 4 was (I think it's currently set to use about 250 MB), and PSE has never had any problems with brush lag.
If by video card you mean graphics card (Sorry, I'm not very techie-minded), it's an Nvidia GeForce 7050 / nForce 610i. This is what it says on the properties for the video card:
Driver version: 195.62
Total available graphics: 383 MB
Dedicated video memory: 256 MB
System video memory: 0 MB
Shared system memory: 127 MB
Don't know if any of that helps. =/
I've tried turning off the OpenGL but it makes no difference.
Is there actually a way to get more RAM? I probably sound really stupid here. But I've always been told there's no way to add more RAM to a computer.
1 gig of RAM on 32 bit Vista is not that much. Between the OS and the Video card address space alone is using all the RAM up and I can bet you that everything else is being written to the hard drive slwoing things down.
What video card do you have and how much ram do you have on it?
Try turning off opengl in photoshop.
You still need more RAM though.

How can you fix transparency less than 100% when drawing multiple shapes with the pencil tool?

I draw a (fill only) shape at 50% with the pencil tool and when I go to draw another, the transparency jumps back to 100%. I would like it to stay at 50% for every mark I make, anyone know how? I wish to build up multiple semi-translucent vector shapes like in the attached image.

In the bottom of the Appearance Palette, toggle the (deep breath) New Art Maintains Appearance / New Art Has Basic Appearance button (pant pant).
I leave it to you to do three things:
1. Figure out which state of that stupidly-designed single button means which setting.
2. Figure out if the stupidly-designed tooltip that appears when you hover over that stupid button means:
A. ...that what the tooltip reads is the current setting, or...
B. ...that what the tooltip reads is the setting you will get if you click the stupidly-designed single button.
3. Remember what you figured out the next time you need to visit that stupidly-designed button.
Adobe doesn't understand this is a simple yes/no decision, and that a far more intuitive simple labeled checkbox will do.

Stop screen drag when drawing on a canvas

I'm trying to do a signature capture on a HTML5 canvas. When I try to use a stylus to write on the canvas all it does is drag the screen around. Is there a way to disable the screen drag for certain elements or for the whole web page?
I've tried the Meta "viewport" setting to size the device width and height and also played with the @media "visual" in the CSS but also with no success.

It's not possible to do this in the current version of Firefox for Android, but you will be able to do it soon using touch events. As long as the Firefox toolbars are off-screen, you can call "event.preventDefault()" on the "touchstart" event to stop the page from scrolling. For more documentation, see:

Scan lines appear when making a dvd with idvd

Edited footage in FCE...exported to quick time, everything looks fantastic...made a dvd with idvd, and final product shows scan lines, or jagged lines...does anyone know what caused this?

I'm seeing the same thing in some photos but not all and not in video clips...

Jittery lines when drawing with pencil tool in Flash

When drawing with the pencil tool using an Intuos Wacom tablet, the lines are jagged and create several points along the jagged line, making the pencil tool unusable. Does not occur with any other program. Using Flash CC Pro 2014.

What is mode of pencil you have set to draw like straihgten ,Smooth or Ink ,and if it smooth mode what is the smothing value you have set .
Wacom driver version.

How do I get the screen to refresh when drawing a line larger than the art board

How do I get the screen to refresh properly when drawing a line larger than the art board when the screen scrolls? Everything turns white in CS6, CS5 and CS4.

Existing art - not the new art. The new art just gets a proxy shape - seen in my example as the blue rectangle. The existing art is what gets smeared as you drag past the edge of the screen. If it's anything other than an Ilustrator thing, it's a Mac thing. I've never known it to be any other way other than maybe in the past showing blank white instead of stuttered art on probably 10 different macs over the years.
Take any art that you've ever created. Zoom in so that your art is bigger than your screen (so that there's somewhere to scroll). Rectangle tool (or move, scale, rotate(?) something, or draw a line) Start your rectangle anywhere, drag so that you are at the edge of the screen, causing it to scroll. The existing art will get all effed up. The rectangle you're drawing will draw as you expect it to - that's not the issue.

Problem using extension manager CS5 with command line

I had posted my question here : http://forums.adobe.com/message/4695419#4695419, but was advised to do so here as well..
I have a requirement to get the path of all the installed Extension Managers on any Windows system for the purpose of installing an extension.. I thought, there would be no problem in getting the path from the registry. There was no problem in Win XP, but the same does not work for Win 7.. I googled, and found alternate ways to get the path.

I am sorry for the poor documentation of Extension Manager which causes you so much trouble.
1. You can use BridgeTalk API to ask specific version of Extension Manager to do something. There is sample in packaging_extension.pdf about this. You don't need to know the installation path of Extension Manager. One thing to note is that the value of bt.target is version specific, i.e. "exman-5.0", "exman-5.5" send this message to different version of Extension Manager, so you can change this value to install/enable/disable/remove extensions using different version of Extension Manager. More detailed documentation of BridgeTalk can be found by clicking "Help" menu then clicking "Javascript Tools Guide CS5" in "Adobe ExtendScript Toolkit CS5".
2. Specific version of Extension Manager only manage extensions for corresponding version of product. You should use Extension Manager CS5 to install extensions for Photoshop CS5. The reason that the extension you installed for Photoshop CS5.1 using Extension Manager CS5.5 is displayed for Photoshop CS5 in Extension Manager CS5 is that two versions of Photoshop specified the same directory for Extension Manager to manage extensions. This is a defect and will cause some problems if multiple versions of Photoshop co-existed in one machine. But "to find previous (CS5) extension manager and to enable it" should work for you, I guess you use command line to enable it and specify wrong product name (see #3) so that it doesn't work.
3. When using command line, you should specify "product" attribute with the name displayed at the left panel of Extension Manager. So "Photoshop CS5 32" is correct. Remember to enclose it with double quote because of existence of space character.
4. As above mentioned, use display name of Photoshop, and call proper version of Extension Manager by BridgeTalk.

Colors are overlapping when drawing with a tablet...

I apologize for the bad headline.
My problem is easy. When coloring something with my tablet, the colors are overlapping as hell but ONLY when I release the pen and then color again, over it.
The problem with that is, that I cannot go back once the pen is released and get a even~ish color. It is almost like I get the multiply-effect even though neither the layer nor the pen is set to that option.

This picture shows the overlapping. It is way to dark, and it doesn't get this dark when I go back and the pen was not released. Only, when I release the pen and then go back. It doesn't get this dark, at all, in other programs like Paintool Sai and more.

My advice would be to learn a little more about Illustrator. Once you do, the tablet will work more like you're expecting. For instance, I would look up in the Help files or in a book how the brush and pencil tools function. Different settings in different places will spare you the surprise of ever-changing lines as you draw them. You'll probably also want to know how to draw open and closed paths if you hope to fill your drawings with color.
On the other hand, drawing on paper is a treat that you'll not really be able to replicate on computer. Even with a tablet. Doesn't feel the same, doesn't sound the same, doesn't smell the same. Doesn't even look the same.

Brush Problems with Illustrator CS4... the line does not draw with my mouse movement

When I use any other brush besides the Calligraphic Brushes from the "Artistic Ink" brush library, I press down with either my Wacom Tablet or mouse, and the line does not appear to draw. Then I release the button on the mouse or lift my pen tablet up, the lines appears. Sometimes, a little "dot dot dot" line appears when the brush stroke it going to appear. But most of the time, it's just nothing, and then the line appears after I've drawn it.
However, with the preselected brushed at the top, and the Calligraphic Artistic Brushes, the line appears as I am drawing it. This is what I want for the other brushes.
Is this normal?! I just recently upgraded to Windows 7, and reinstalled the Adobe Suite. I can't remember if Illustrator did this before I reinstalled it, but I'm not sure it did otherwise it would have annoyed me as much as it does now. Can anybody help me?

First time posting to a forum.
I'm having the same problem and followed the advice for changing the file name in the Illustrator CS# Settings folder.
This solved the problem of seeing predicted brush paths for very basic brushs, but I still can't get a preview path for any of the ink brushs.
I've seen video tutorials which demonstrate inking techniques and the ink brush predicted path was clearly working in those tutorials.
I'm assuming therefore that I should be able to see some type of preview when using the ink brushs.
Any advice would be great!

How can i draw a shape with the line tool and then fill it with colour

Click and drag from one anchor point to the next, making sure that each new line segment begins where the last one ended. The Line Tool will snap onto the anchors.
Once you're done creating what looks like a closed path, the lines are still separate objects. To combine them into one path, select them all and press Ctrl/Cmd+J (for Join) or via the menu select Object > Path > Join.
The Pen Tool can be used in a similar manner, but each segment will be a continuation rather than a separate object. The last (closing) click will be indicated by a tiny circle on the mouse pointer.
If you make an open path, Ai will still "fill" it with a fill color by assuming a straight path between the last open anchor points. Individual straight paths, however, such as those drawn by the line tool, have no "inside", so they won't show the fill color even if you have assigned one.

Electronic noise is emitted from my computer when manually dragging the vertical scroll bar with hardware accleration enabled, but no noise is emitted when scrolling any other way (ie hyperscroll via mouse wheel).

When I use my mouse button to hold and drag the vertical scrolling bar, my computer emits a soft grainy sound. However, when I hyper scroll with my mouse wheel, there is no noise.
I do not get the quiet noise with Internet Explorer. I did not get this with previous versions of Firefox.
Turning hardware acceleration off resolved this.
I'm running Windows 7 with a dedicated graphics card (GTX 285).

Prob. with addiational line items when clearing Cust/Vendor

I've a serious issue with Account Clearing (F-32, F-44, F-03). SAP generates unwanted additional line items when clearing customer/Vendor or GL accounts. I've studied almost all the relevant SAP notes but couldn't found the solution of this issue.......
Company Code:               Single          1000
Segments:               Two               1000, 2000
Document Splitting:                         Active
Splitting Method:                         0000000012
Level of Detail;                              Inheritance
Zero Balance Clearing Account;                    Defined
Document Splitting Characteristic:                      Profit Center and Segment, both are defined as required characteristics and balance to zero in document splitting.
Issue:
1.     T-Code F-32 Creates additional unwanted clearing line items in Customer Subledger/Account
2.     T-Code F-44 Creates additional unwanted clearing line items in Vendor Subledger/Account.
3.     T-Code F-03 G/L Account Clearing also creates unwanted additional clearing line items in GL account.
An immediate help in the above mentioned problem will be highly appreciated.

Please check the following Scenario.....
1. Enter a customer invoice of USD 1000 from FB70.
2. Enter a Credit memo of the same customer of USD 1000 from FB70
In both documents all the information should be same.
If you look at the customer account in FBL5N, it'll balance to zero, with two open items i.e an invoice and a credit memo of same amount.
3. Now clear that customer from F-32.
The clearing document contains two line items.
1. Customer Dr. with PK 07 Amount USD 1000
2. Same customer account is credit with PK 17 Amount USD 1000
the above two line items are undesired.
When we analyze the transactions of this customer by FD10N, it shows Dr. during the period USD 2000 and Cr. during the period USD 2000.   Although the actual Dr. amount of Invoice was USD 1000 and Credit amount of Credit memo was USD 1000.
Due to Account clearing F-32, the system shows high turnover of transactions in the customer account. Same thing happens with Vendor and GL clearing.........................
I hope i am able to clear the problem, please feel free to ask me, if any further details required.

I tracked down the problem with the download and installation, my windows 7 was missing a file and after reinstalling windows everything worked out. The first 32 bit program in their list was used. I hope this can help others.
