Line-in recording management probs - zen v p

Hi there
I'm totally new to this machine. I have no computer and am loading songs stright from a line source, and charging via the creative charger.
Firstly, I am ending up with a huge list of songs under the "recorded" folder, and am having a nitemare getting these transferred to either playlists or into genres.
1. Firstly - is it possible to rename the songs after i've recorded them, how do i do this?
2. Secondly, what is the best and easiest way to transfer a whole list of mixed-genre songs into relevant playlists/folders/whatever, so i can seperate them out a bit's
Sorry for sounding lame, but the disc and manual dont seem to be much help, and every time I try "add tO' songs from the "recorded" folder to create a playlist with a different name, i just end up with a playlist with a different name containing every single one of the songs I have just recorded!
help would be appreciated! thanks.

I've used my ZVP to record vinyl tracks. But then I've uploaded them to a PC to tidy up the audio & add ID3 tags before putting them back on to the player.
I can't see anyway to edit the ID3 info on the player, which is what you need to do to alter the way the ZVP groups them.Message Edited by daytona955 on 05-03-20070:04 AM

  • Creative zen micro line-in recordi

I read a review of the zen micro at CNET.com, and their short video clip tells me that the zen micro has line-in recording. However, nowhere does it state/mention that feature in the zen micro homepage, nor is it mentioned in any other site. I would just like to confirm that the zen micro doesn't have line-in recording...

Yep, the CNET.COM video review did mention about a line-in recording function. But maybe because that video was recorded way before the Zen Micro was actually launched, therefore there was a mix up in information. And so no, Creative Zen Micro does not have a line-in recording function. However, the Zen Neeon and Zen Nano Plus does have line-in recording if you're interested =)

  • Zen V plus line in recording with 10 minute tra

I just purchased a zen v plus specifically for recording certain programs using the line in recorder. The programs are generally /2 to 3 hours long. The problem I have is that the line in recorder breaks up the recording into 0 minute tracks. Is there a way to program or adjust the setting,so that it's not broken up into tracks?
    Thanks

When you record a track, the recorded track is automatically named LINE followed by the date and time of the recording ( LINE YYYY-MM-DD HH:MM:SS ). For example, if you recorded a track on March 5, 2004 at 2:57 pm, the track is named >LINE 2004-03-5 4:57:00 . You can just extract the recorded track from the player and rename it when you have it connected to your computer.

  • Zen V:Turning off SYNC in line-in record

Is there a way to disable the SYNC feature so that the line-in recording doesn't depend on the source level? I just want to run external microphone, via a mixer, into the Zen V line-in and not have the thing create a new track everytime the level drops into and out of the noise.

I think you need all your iCloud contacts to be on, on all devices.
On the iPad, in Contacts, if you tap "Groups" red bookmark in the top left corner, it will bring you to a screen with a sync icon in the bottom left corner.  Try tapping that.  On the same screen make sure your contacts/address books are checked.

  • Creative Zen V Plus Line In Record

    Hi all
I am looking at getting a number of these for my workplace to use primarily as a line in/external mic recording device.
We have trialled a number of HD based recorders in the past; iRi'ver, Cowon but we have found the line in recording standard to be poor.
I was wondering if anyone has one of these and could tell me what the recording standards are like, especially regarding the volume levels of the line in recording?
The iRi'ver and Cowons both have line in recording but the volume level is so low it is pretty useless.
    Thanks in advance
    Tim

I use my Zen Nano Plus primarily for line in recording directly from sound systems. Line-in recordings are saved as MP3s and you can pick the encoding bitrate, either 96, 28 or 60. The recordings with the built-in microphone are saved as WAV files. I've found that for line-in recordings it's best to put in some headphones and check that the recording level (via volume control) is satisfactory. I've never used any other line-in recorders so I can't provide any comparison. Anyway, I typically use the free version of Wavepad to do an auto gain adjustment on the recordings. Hope I was of some help to you!

  • Petition to add line-in recording to new Creative Zen mod

    Hello all.
I've always loved the line-in feature of the now discontinued Creative Nomad Jukebox 3, which allowed me to record in high quality uncompressed WAV at 44 or 48 Khz from any analogue or even digital (optical) source, so I was disappointed when it was removed from the newer Zen models (only the new MuVo includes line in recording, but only in MP3 format, since it's a small storage flash based unit).
I'd like to tell Creative that there is really an interest for quality hard dri've based recorders everywhere, so they should add again the line-in jack to new Zen models (and if possible it would be nice to have a microphone jack too for external mics, like in minidiscs, but that's not all that neccessary).
Let's see how many people are interested in this...

I've just found a Yahoo! Group that discusses audio recording with Creative's Nomad Jukebox 3:
    http://grou
    ps.
    yahoo.com/group/njb3tapers
So that's more proof that there's an interest in that. Maybe not as widespread, but I think one of the reasons the NJB3 was as successful was because of its recording capabilities, because as simple MP3 player it was too big, so it was the extra features such as line-in recording that made it stand up.

  • Zen Micro- Line in recording????!

i've just seen on the cnet review site that the zen micro has line-in-recording and i've owned one for month but didnt know this!!
more importantly, if this is true, how comes i havent come accross it in the menues?
    is it possible and how?

Proof that CNET is not a trustworthy source. They have their head stuck too far up Apple's butt to RTFM.
    Heh
And no, it does not have line in recording.

  • Lin-in recording on Zen Photo

I want to know if the Zen Micro Photo will allow line-in recording from an exterior source .
    thanks, Colin

    Colin,
I'm afraid not. The Zen Micro Photo player does not have a Line In jack unlike player like the Zen Neeon.

  • Zen V Plus Line-In Record

I'm recording various shows on TV and Satellite radio by line-in audio recording. Can anyone tell me if the V Plus can charge and record line-in at the same time? If not, how long can it line-in record before the player shuts down? I have the Nano Plus and it's just too much of a drain with the AAA battery -- only recording about /2 hours before it shuts itself off.

it does not charge and record at the same time..
im not sure about the in-line recording battery life though..

  • Audigy LS Line In recording prob

First off I did a search for my problem and I found a couple of posts with my symptom, however there was no real solution or answer given. Here are my two issues:
Line in recording is only in mono. While Im recording, if I look at the Left/Right monitor, the left is moving the right has nothing.
Also the playback volume is very weak. I have the recording volume maxed out and while Im recording the volume is great, the playback volume is 25% of recording volume.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!

I was going through the FAQ and found this.... "The left/right LED VU meter provides a visual display of the recording levels. For best recordings, the LED should be around the 80% mark of the bar and it should not be hitting 00% mark constantly."
) only the my left meter moves
    2) it only goes about 0% of the way up. According to this, it should be around 80%

I was doing line in recording. Then it hang there. The display did not change no matter which button I press. I can't even turn it off. I hold the power button for minute, the little thing just wouldn't go off. When?it runs out of battery, I connect it to my PC, it charges and returns to the same display no matter what. What can I do? Please help.

    Welcome to Creative forums!
Have you tried doing a reset? Gently press the reset hole located on the left side (with the player facing up) using a pin or a paper clip. See if that hel

First, can you see the agent and host in EM?  If not, then you'll need to follow these steps:
    emctl secure agent
    emctl start agent
    emctl config agent addinternaltargets
    emctl config agent listtargets
The host and agent must be "green" in EM to discover targets.   The last command listtargets will show you what the agent has "auto-discovered".  Not all targets can be auto-discovered.
Did you check the Auto Discovery Results to see if the targets are waiting for promotion?  If they're not there, then you might have to "manually" discover them.

  • Records Management issue

    Hello,
I'm trying to create a Records Management demo scenario, but i got a error trying to create a Record from a model previously created:
"No record model registered. Maintain in the registry."
Can anyone give me a tip for solve this issue?
    Regards,
    Luis Carlos

    Hi Luis,
Don't know if you got youre demo working but this what you should do:
Make sure youre model is relased. Then go to the registry (SRMREGEDIT area S_AREA_RMS)) and go to the service provider for your record (standard SRM_SP_RECORD) and select youre spsid for the record you use (standard SRM_SPS_RECORD). Open it in change mode and go to tab Connector Parameter Values. Select the Model_ID line and click the create button. Now search for your model and save it.
Now in organizer you should be able to create a record based on your own model.
    Best regards,
    Tjalling-Jan Gerkema

  • Line in not working on Zen V P

    Hi
I have a 4gb Zen V Plus, which has been working fine, but for the first time today I tried using line-in to record sound from the PC. Analogue, nothing fancy (don't have a proper sound card, just "on-board sound"). I can hear sound from the PC through headphones using either the headphone socket at the front, or the line out at the back (normally going to speakers). But when I connect either of these PC outputs to line-in on the Zen, and start recording, no sound is received. The recording level indicators on the Zen stay flat, and when I stop "recording" & play it back, there is silence.
I thought the idea of line-in was that you could take any kind of sound - from a radio, tape, PC, whatever, and it could be recorded as an analogue signal. If you could hear anything from the headphone output of any device, it would be recordable to the Zen. Can anyone say if that's what's meant to happen
Have done a search but can't find anything on this very basic question!
    Thanks alot - Jonno

The Zen units are setup to be USB 2.0 compatible devices, which means they are not supposed to start pulling 500ma of current untill the computer has given an OK to do so. There is generally signals with a specific voltage on several pins.
Without that signal the Zen units won't start charging. Unfortunatly many of the cheaper USB device chargers just put the +5v on the USB power ports and aren't setup to signal the device that its ok to charge. So the Zen device is never signaled that its allowed to pull full current so it doesn't start charing.
It took me awhile to find a car charger/FM transmitter that worked with my ZVM and most of the cheaper ones weren't designed to USB specs to my Zen Vision M didn't recognize it.

  • Does line in record in ster

Im looking to buy a Zen V for li've music tapingand am wondering if the line in records in Stereo.
Also- are the recording levels displayed on the screen?
    thanks

I will have to wrestle it away from my daughter to check.
As I recall there is a level indicator for the voice recording (with built in mic), but I didn't think it showed that when doing line in recording.
But haven't done recording on it for awhile, when I was helping my daughter do it we always monitored the audio through the headphones while recording.
    Will try to check tommorrow.
