Line in the right side of my MBP OSX 10.9.1 display

As mentioned in the subject above, is there any update tips we need to do to make the said line disappear?
Thanks,...

But this line was not in my screen at all, it starts to appear only when I recently updated to the OSX mavericks! So I thought its common or software issue.
That makes the issue different. Do you see that line during startup (while the Apple logo is in the screen)?
I recommend you to start up in OS X Recovery by holding down Command and R keys while your Mac is starting up, and reinstall OS X. Maybe there's something wrong.

I have a white vertical line down the right side of my internal brand new macbook pro 13" display. I've done the following:
-Shutdown the computer, and restarted in Safe Mode by pressing the Shift key after the restart tone
-Shutdown the computer, and restarted by pressing Command, Option, P & R after the restart tone
-Checked display resolution, Best for Retina
-Hooked it up to a Dell external monitor and via projection to screen. There are no lines on the external or secondary screens
-Just curious, I ran a color utility which can not repair 4 items, maybe this is another issue.
This is a brand new Macbook Pro, just out of the box. It was fine for two days without any issues, fine last night while in use, opened it up this morning with the line.
Anyone now how I can fix this on my own?

If you are within the first 14 days from the date of purchase, return the MBP for a refund or an exchange.  If you are after the first 14 days of the date of purchase, have the MBP repaired under the warranty provisions.

If it's a thin 1 pixel wide vertical line it's highly likely it could be caused by a defective LCD.
One quick basic way to check is to note the position of the line. Then go to System Preferences, Displays, and lower the resolution. If ther line moves it's on the video and the logic board or video card if fitted is likely to be defective. If the line stays in the same position it's likely to be an LCD fault. Either way to have it repaired you'll need to visit an Apple store or AASP.
The worst offender for this problem is the Late 2006 17" iMac. FOC replacement of the LCD used to be covered by a quality program, but it's now ended.

  • Noise comming from the right side of my MBP

Hi, i have a new 2012 regular 15" mbp. I had the Retina at first, it was completely silent, but this macbook i can hear, especially the right side. Both fans are running at idle 2000RPM. Is this the 7200RPM hard drive making noise? Its not terribly loud, but compared to the Retina its definitely audible.
    Thanks in advance.

  • When I press the down arrow on the right side of my location bar and history is displayed, how can I get it to display history from most recently accessed site on down?

When I click the down arrow on the right side of the location bar (without having typed a full or partial URL in, I am just clicking the down arrow) a history dropdown is displayed which shows 12 website URLs that I have visited, but there does not appear to be any rhyme or reason as to what is being displayed. How can I cause this dropdown to display sites visited from the most recently accessed on down? And how can I cause more than 12 URLs to be listed in this dropdown? Why I can't I scroll down through my entire history in chronological order from most recently accessed site?

  • Save for web and devices I get lines on the right side of picture

When ever I go to web and devices and try to save as jpeg, gif, any of the choises I get these white horizontal lines on the side of my pictures.  does anyone have any idea of how I can fix this?

This would happen when Rasterize or Save Gradient Mesh object to a Raster format like Jpeg in your case.
    Workarounds :
    Prefer copy-paste for interoperability scenarios.
Use flatten transparency set to 100% raster and then export.

  • 1px line created on the right side of the browser

    Hi All,
I want to have a banner image, which fades into blackness so i have made the image smaller to fade into a black solid background. I have simply placed this behind the background image.
When adding either a rectangle with a fill image or a solid black image to my banner, it is somehow creating a 1 pixel thin white line on the right of the browser. It's as if there is an element which is larger than my width (1400px including the 100px for left and 100px for right margins). It is also creating a horizontal scroll bar.
Once i delete this rectangular fill/solid colour fill, i no longer have a horizontal scroll bar or a 1px thin line on the right.
I have double checked every single element of the page that it does not exceed the canvas size and it touches the edges to create the red lines that it is 100% full browser width. I have checked the master etc.. everything seems to be fine and the correct 1400px width.
Can anyone assist with what could potentially be causing this? I have attached some screenshots if you need any.
PLEASE NOTE! This is only an issue with GOOGLE CHROME for desktop and on any browser for tablets (haven't tested on mobile yet as i have not optimised my site for mobile).
I've tried this is Safari and it has no horizontal scroll bar or an issue with the 1px thin line on the right side of the browser.
This is killing me because i can't find out what it is!

    Hi All,
    Anyone have any ideas?!

  • Importing PSD files create a black line to the right of some images

I am importing PSD files into Framemaker 11 and they keep giving me a vertical line on the right side of some images. I already know that other image file formats don't cause this, but I prefer the practicality of PSD files and not having to deal with duplicate files of the same image. I figured that native Adobe files that are supposed to be cross platform compatible should work without any issues. I get lines when converting to PDF documents and when I print them out also. I’m getting ready to publish our catalog and would like to prevent the printer from cleaning them up again.  Does anyone know how to fix it or if Adobe is currently addressing this issue ? Who can I contact to let them know about the issue, since it has been around from the time Frame started accepting PSD files?
    Thanks,
    Tomas

    Hi ais007,
This is gonna sound really crazy, but this happened to me a couple of years ago. Below is the answer....hope it helps for you!
Found the answer to this in the framers digest mailout (framers Digest, Vol 71, Issue 9). Hopefully it wll help you too.
I am not sure about the Illustrator files, but for Photoshop, resize your images so that the last number is an even number. (example: change 3.25 to 3.24)
This worked for me! I couldn't believe it!

  • I just jazzed up my 2 Ghz iMac with 10.6.8, and 4 gigs of memory. I'm VERY happy with the results (fast!), but now I have a thin yellow line way over on the right side of the screen, which goes from top to bottom. This is really strange! Any input?

I'm VERY happy with the results (fast!). However, the really strange thing is this - there is now a thin yellow line, way over on the right side of the screen, which goes from top to bottom, and stays there no matter where I go or what I do. I've never seen anything like this! It was not there before I did the upgrades. Anyone out there ever heard of such a preposterous thing ~ or have any ideas on how to get rid of it?

  • My iphone 4s screen turned freaked out before my eyes, changing all different colours, now it is blue and black along the right side with horizontal lines, and is flickering. I DIDN'T DROP IT.

I was just sitting on the couch scrolling through facebook, I closed out of that and went to open safari, when it spazzed out, for a few mintutes it looked like LSD vision, it was all different colours and flickering the whole time. I turned it off and on again, and plugged it into my computer and now the right side is nearly completely blue, and bleeds to the left side with horizontal lines, and it is still flickering. I just finished paying the **** thing off. I thought I'd get another year out of it. I have taken exemplary care of it and it hasn't left the case since the day I bought it. I haven't dropped it, there was no warning for the screen to start doing this. So my question is, is there an easy fix (I am about to restore and update it, and I already played around with the screen brightness), and if not, am I going to have to pay for the screen to be replaced, because I don't have that kind money.

Probably sounded funnier in your head.
