  • Billing date at line item level in a sales order

    HI!
Can anyone let me know the significance of billing date being present at the line item level in a sales order?
And why does it get changed as per the Requested delivery date if the Prop. Pricing date in the maintanenece of sales doc type is set  as 'A'?
Can it be different for different line items?

    Hello Asha,
Can anyone let me know the significance of billing date being
present at the line item level in a sales order ???
The comprehensive information is available at SAP technical help(F1) for the "BILLING DATE" field at Sales Order line item level...Before raising these type of questions, i would urge to  conduct initiate analysis and then post at SDN forum if you are unable to find out answers...For your quick reference, i have extracted the same description for Billing date from SAP techincal help (F1) and pasted below.
Billing date for billing index and printout
+The date on which the billing is processed and booked for
    accounting purposes.+
    Use
+You can use the billing date as one of the selection criteria
when you process billing documents collectively.+
    Procedure
+If invoice dates are defined for the customer, the system proposes
the billing date from the invoice date calendar. If no invoice dates are
agreed, then the actual goods issue date is formed on the basis of
delivery related billing. In order related billing, the billing date of the
order forms the basis of the billing date.+
+If you are billing services, the system proposes the date of services
rendered. You can change the date manually in the sales document.+
+If you are using a billing plan to bill a project, the system can propose
billing dates for the billing plan on the basis of planned or actual dates
    in the corresponding milestone.+
+In a billing plan for a maintenance or rental contract, you can specify rules
by which the system determines billing dates on the basis of other dates in the contract.+

  • Qty field greying out in Sales Order

    Dear Gurus,
I already posted one thread as given below:
Status of Sales Order not changing .
I was told that the status of the first OR will never change from 'Open', in the process flow:    OR - OR - LF - F2,    since the Schedule Lines created in the first OR will never be delivered.
We created a new Doc Type 'ZOR' an exact copy of 'OR' and a new Item Category 'ZTAN' an exact copy of TAN and unchecked 'Schedule Line Allowed'. Assigned 'ZTAN' to Doc Type 'ZOR'.
My understanding is now since ZTAN is not relevant for Schedule Lines, this sales order should not create any schedule lines and when this doc type ZOR is referenced to create another order 'OR', the status of 'ZOR' should change to 'Completed' once fully referenced.
But when I created a Sales Order, entering the SP, Material and Quantity and clicked 'Enter', system is giving the Item category as 'ZTAN' but greying out the Quantity field with out any value. Why is this happening?? What am I doing wrong? Please help me out here.
    Thanks and regards.
    Venkat - Hyd

    Hi Venkat,
If you will remove the tick mark/ activation from the "Schedule line allowed" check box in the Item category ZTAN, then you can not deliver the item as without schedule line, you can not delivered.
    The process is,
    Standard order(e.g, OR) -
    > Delivery (LF).
If you remove the activation, then system understands that it is not a deliverable item and takes it to grey mode.
If you want to deliver an item physically, then schedule line must have been allowed for it in its Item category level AND that schedule line must have been deliverable at the Schedule line category level ("Delivery relevance" field must have been activated).
Even one of the two condition is missing then you can not deliver an item physically.
For example, In Item category AGN for Quotation, you will find schedule line is allowed but if you will go to its Schedule line category BN, you will find it is not deliverable (the "Delivery relevance" field is blank).
Therefore, even though there is a schedule line for the Quotation item , still we can not deliver it which is logical.
So, use the available field for logical purpose, it will support you. As the fields are available, you can not put any value what you want, it must be logical.
If you want to make blank the "Schedule line allowed" field then copy the Item category "WKN" or "WKC" and from TAN.
Similarly, copy the Contract and not OR for your purpose.
Where as, you can not create a Delivery directly from Contract. So contract items do not require schedule line. Contract is completed by one or more Release orders and Release orders contain schedule line.
    The process is,
    Contract (e.g, QC, WK1, WK2) -
    > Release orders (e.g, OR) -
    > Delivery (e.g, LF).
Therefore, in Item category in contract (e.g,WKN , WKC etc) you will find that "Schedule Line Allowed" field is blank.

  • How to avoid XVBPA line item values while creating sales order

    Hi Friends
I am creating Sales order using function module IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS, for that I am passing partner details through segment E1EDKA1.If I pass the same partner details(Partner number, name1,name4,city,postel code) which is same like customer master,
I can able to book the order and entries are coming only one time in VBPA table(Header Item level). But if I change any value for the particular partner in the Input(For example Name4, there is no value in customer master but I added through program). Now its creating an order but its showing the entered partner informations in header level. When I checked the same in line item level, its not picking the values from header, its picking the values from customer master for that particular partner.
So this line item also coming in VBPA table, because its different from header data.
Anyone guide me, how to avoid this problem while booking order through program.
    Thanks
    Gowrishankar

I am updating Ship-To-Party value in segment E1EDKA1 and calling IDOC_INPUT_ORDERS function module to create the sales order.
In this case for the particular partner there is no NAME4 value in KNA1, I am passing some value through this segment E1EDKA1.
So its creating an order with this new addresses , so its generating new ADRNR in VBPA header level.Thats fine. But the same time
its not copying the same value from header to line item.
In Line item level again its picking the address details from KNA1 for the particular partner number. So its showing Blank value in NAME4 field of line items. Its creating and spllitting issue, while creating delivery.
    Thanks

  • Empty line item added in incomplete sales orders after upgrade

    Hi,
We are upgraded from 4.7 to 6.0 version of R/3. After the upgrade in sales orders which were incomplete in 4.7, a empty line item have got added in those sales order. While opening those order in VA02, first line item is completely empty and due to that it doesnot allow me to do anything on that order. Also, on checking the tables such as VBAP, VBKD an empty line item is there.
    Kindly Advice.
    Thanks in Advance.

    Hi Kishore,
I have already checked SAP notes but got nothing related to it.

  • How to make a new line item appear in a sales order in VA01 transaction?

    Dear All,
I am trying to create a SO with single line item with quantity 100.
Upon hitting the 'Enter' key, if the available quantity is less than the requested quantity (say 20), it takes me to an availabilty control screen which has a push-button 'One-time delivery' on the application tool bar.
Upon clicking on this button, it takes me back to the main screen of VA01 where I currently see only one line item with quantity 100 and confirmed quantity 20.
My requirement here is to make two line items appear, one with quantity 20 and the other with quantity 80, once I navigate back to the main screen of VA01 after clicking on the push-button 'One-time delivery'.
Please provide me your valuable inputs. Any kind of help is highly appreciated.
    Useful answers never go unrewarded.
    Regards,
    Sreekanth Reddy B.

    Hi Sreekanth ,
creating line items based on the confirmation qty can be done thru config, not thru ABAP,standard SAP will gives you options to create a new line item for unconfirmed qtys.
check with ur functional consultant or try to post in SD /APO forums.

  • Header and Item Incoterms different in Sales order

    Hello SAP Guru's,
I have an unique issue of Incoterms in Sales order item being different from the Header, when this happens any change to the header Incoterms is not getting copied to sales order Items.
The issue is due the different Division maintained for Sales order item in the Material master, which is fetching the Inco 2 from the Different Sales area for this is customer.
This is fine as per design where Item category is checked for Business data and Sales Document type is checked for different Division in the config.
However the Business would like the Header Incoterms to be copied to all items and any change in Header should also be copied to Line items also.
We had narrowed down on Couple of Alternatives:
Remove the Business data allowed check in the Item category config
But this would allow all Business data to be copied from sales order header to items
    2. Make changes to VBKD user Exit during Sales order creation to copy the Incoterms from Sales order header to items
But this is causing multiple lines in VBKD and some issues while adding new items in VA02 ending with an Update termination.
Would like to know whether there is any other Option whether there would be least impact and also would like your advice on the better Option between the above two Options.
    Thanks and Regards
    Mohammed Roshan

    Hi Lakshimipathi,
Finally we removed the Business Item check in the Item category which is causing the Header incoterms and any changes in Header incoterms to be copied to Sales Order line items as required but we have an issue where Sales Order item Pricing date is being greyed out due these changes, Currently the Sales order Pricing date is being determined through a Z table triggered from a User Exit which was also editable in Sales order item level.
Due to these new changes Sales order pricing date is being determined in the header and getting copied to the Sales order line item thus greying out the Sales order item pricing date field.
Would like to know your thoughts on how removing the Business Item check in Item category in VOV7 is causing the grey out of sales Order item pricing date, where the Business can modify on certain occasions and what would the workaround to restore the functionality of Sales order item pricing date.
    Appreciate your inputs on this.
    Thanks and Regards

  • Restrict Manual Entry of Items while creation of sales order

    Hi,
    <b>Requirement:</b>
User can create a sales order only for line items of contract if sales order is created with reference to contract. Any manual entry of line item should be restricted.
    <b>Analysis:</b>
I have coded to check the line item is created with ref to contract or not.( VGBEL gets populated if it is created with ref to contract.). I checked in userexits (USEREXIT_SAVE_DOCUMENT_PREPARE) and (USEREXIT_FIELD_MODIFICATION).
Do help if anyone have come across such scenario.

  • Copy item from Quotation to sales Order

    Hello,
How can I copy all the line items from quotation to sales order including the price, Quantity & the Sales Texts?
    Thanks
    AK

    Hi
Maintain copy control from sales document to sales document using t-code VTAA. Select your target & source sales document type from the list & double click on the same. There you can define the copy control.
For Text control you can use the T Code VOTXN & create your own text controls.
I hope this will be helpful.
    Thanks & Regards,

The schedule lines are greyed out, user was able to add schedule lines earlier.
I have checked all assignments in VOV6, VOV7 and everything seems to be fine and no changes have been made to item category being used.
Please provide a solution for this.

    Samiksh

    Hi Samiksh,
Pls check for that particular customer, only complete delivery allowed(c) is set in the CMR or CMIR. If so, you can't enter multiple schedule lines for that customer.. it would be grayed out in the sales order schedule lines except confirmed line.
or check the problematic sales order at item level shipping tab if the par del/item is set to 'C'

  • Line item is falling into back order even though the stock is available

    Hi Gurus,
I have a sales order with a single line item which fell into back order even though there is material stock available in the plant and thereby is not dropping any delivery note.
Please suggest me what could be the reason behind this issue and let me know how can i figure it out of what is causing this issue.
FYI, it is happening for multiple sales order but not for all the orders.
    Please help.
    Regards,
    Praveen Kambala.

    Hi,
You should check if there are pending requirements in MD04 coming from another sales orders or STO. If your sales order is not available in MD04, either you have daily requirements or the order is probably blocked by credit check.
If you use credit check control and the credit check fails, the quantity will not be confirmed until the sales order is released in VKM4.
If the above does not help, please provide more details about the issue (schedule line type, MRP type etc), as it is stated quite generic now.
    Regards,
    Marcin

    Hi,
schedule line dates are available in VBEP.
    VBEP-VBELN = sales order number.
    VBEP-EDATU = schedule line date.
