Line-of-site @ 1200 ft

I am extending a building automation system communication bus between 2 buildings approx 1200 ft apart in line-of-site roof-to-roof. Very low bandwidth is required. I'm considering the Aironet 1300. This is in Miami, so lightning may be a problem. What components will I need for a complete system? I printed the order guide for reference.

Consider the components necessary for your setup to permit a segment of fiber between the rooftop components and the rest of your network.
"Lightning Arrestor" is a misnomer: it won't do a thing to prevent a lightning strike or the damage / effects of a direct or near lightning hit.
Having a segment of fiber between the external stuff and the internal network *will* save you, "lightning arrestors" will not.
If you put a copper/fiber converter at the AP, then run the fiber to either another converter, or an available fiber port on an existing switch is a good way to go. At worst, you lose the AP, power supply, and probably some coax.
You still need the "lightning arrestor" for code compliance ("Entrance Protection"), just don't relay on it to save your network.

Can't save PDF files from on-line banking site

I'm not able to save a PDF file of bank statements or credit card statements from my secure online banking site. I'm able to save copies of "non-secure" PDFs from various om-line sites. I'm using Adobe Reader X. anyone ahve any thoughts/recommendations?

The content that I want to save as a PDF shows an icon for saving the file, but when I click on the icon, nothing happens. I've tried to uninstall Adobe X; and also to "Repair" it. But that has not made any difference. I can print the document; increase or decrease the size of the image, advance from page to page, etc. ... it just won't allw me to save it as any type of file.

AP1410s and near-line-of-site

Could anyone tell me if a pair of AP1410s will work if the remote antenna is obscured by trees? If so, what kind of signal loss should I expect? If not, can you point me to an alternative? The distance between APs will be about 3KM.

General wisdom says no, as you say trees that impies more than one. Bridges require a clear line of sight to operate reliabley. your proposed bridge may work in the winter when the trees are bare may even still work somewhat when they leaf out in the summer but will definatly have trouble when they are wet after a rain.
But only a site survey will tell you what will work and meet you requirements.

Firefox does not open links with a new window or tab for certain web sites, e.g. Santander On line banking, help links.

When accessing some sites where they have links for additional information that would normally open a new window or tab, Firefox does not open either. This happens on a variety of sites, most recently the Santander on-line banking site.

Adding an e-Commerce template to existing BC online web site?

Has anyone out there started with a Muse design, and after completeing it, then did add an ecommerce template?
There are many ways to get to the mountian... I don't see a path yet.
Conern is for menu integration with the existing client content/web site (created in Muse) and eCommerce Template.
Is this integration possible? Key question.
If so though what interface: BC, Muse, Dreamweaver, Other?
In other words:
Q: How does one join an active client muse site to a BC eComerce Template: what is the best process GIVEN initial client design is in MUSE?

BI Templates Missing in this Project Server 2013 On-Line Installation

In a Project Server 2013 On-Line install over here, I do not see any language packs or templates within the Business Intelligence Center (PWA 2013 On-Line > Reports > Site Contents > Templates)? There are no files in this directory whatsoever!
Yet in PWA > Reports, I see language packs (e.g., English (United States)), whereby the 3 standard sample reports can be found, ie., Project Overview Dashboard, Project Overview, and Resource Overview. Same thing in PWA > Data Connections, I
see language packs (e.g., English (United States)), see these 6 ODC files: OData Assignments Data, OData Issues Data, OData Projects Data, OData Resources Data, OData Risks Data, and OData Tasks Data.
Why would this be? Are templates not include in the On-Line version? If the on-line version is supposed to come with templates, how do I install them at this point? I imagine there should be 7 or so files in there: i.e., ProjectAndAssignments,
ProjectAndTasks, Issues, Risks, Timesheet, DependentProjects, Issues, Resources.

I use Go Daddy Web Mail and FireFox may be preventing me from being able to put text into the subject line when composing an email.

As the question / statement says, When in Firefox, once I've started my webmail application through Go Daddy, I can compose an entire email filling out all the required info. But, when I put the mouse over the 'Subject Line' and click, no cursor appears.
Having walked through this with Go Daddy, they are convinced that it's FireFox because we opened up their webmail with 2 other browsers and both allowed me to plug in a subject line.

Many site issues can be caused by corrupt cookies or cache. In order to try to fix these problems, the first step is to clear both cookies and the cache.
Note: ''This will temporarily log you out of all sites you're logged in to.''
To clear cache and cookies do the following:
#Go to Firefox > History > Clear recent history or (if no Firefox button is shown) go to Tools > Clear recent history.
#Under "Time range to clear", select "Everything".
#Now, click the arrow next to Details to toggle the Details list active.
#From the details list, check ''Cache'' and ''Cookies'' and uncheck everything else.
#Now click the ''Clear now'' button.

Poor proofs of imported line art

Line art scanned into InDesign CS2 from a Canon CanoScan LiDE 60 scanner looks good the first time it is printed on an HP PhotoSmart 4280 printer, and it looks good on the screen. The second and subsequent times it is printed, especially if the document is made into a PDF, the image degrades significantly, and that degradation is visible on the screen as well. Where is the fault: in InDesign, which accepts the image well? In the scanning software, which has caused no other problems? In the printer, which has caused no other problems?

No, I do not scan directly into ID: I scan the object (hand-drawn map or sheet of autographs), then place the object on the destined page, adjusting its size to fit the location I have planned for it. I place it with cmd-D, just as I would with text, but select it from a folder full of all the artwork intended for that issue of the newsletter.
I have been using the software since 1987, when it was PageMaker 2.0 and it was published by Aldus, and it has become increasingly complicated over that twenty-odd year period. When I ask ID to export PDFs (the only thing our printer can handle: he's not a typesetter or an expert in page makeup), it regularly tells me that there are missing links, and I have never bothered to follow up and find out which links were missing. Do I have to?
The Canon CanoScan LiDE 60 does offer me my choice of dpi: 300, 600, and 1200. I have scanned line art at 1200. The scanner also offers me 8-bit or 16-bit output; my bet is that I should be sure to ask for 16-bit.
I have accepted as gospel the ID PDF export compression settings: that is, I have never noticed.
As for Display Performance, I did raise that to its highest setting, and the display on the iMac monitor looked splendid, but the PDF sent to the printer did not.
This issue of the newsletter has just come back from the printer, and my wife will be part of the mailing crew tomorrow. Meanwhile, I'm attaching the indd containing the line art (as well as photographs which I did scan and place, and which came out all right). The line art appears (map) on unnumbered page 8 and (autographs) on page 9.

Most sites listed in "history" have the logo of that site beside it. Some have a "blank" square. What is the difference?

There are some sites listed in my history that I know that I did not lookup. I am wondering if perhaps these are pop-up sites that were not actually accessed or if someone else has been looking up sites on my computer. The sites in question have a "symbol" beside it that looks like a blank square drawn with a dotted line. Sites that I know that I have visited have a logo representing that site.

Anyway, there is a textbox out of view that holds the title :
Beats me what it is doing there, but here is the oft repeated explanation :
iWeb uses the textbox in the Header layer of an iWeb page as the title in the browserwindow.
If the textbox in the Header is missing, iWeb uses a textbox down the page in the Content layer. If that textbox is also missing, it uses another textbox. If that fails it uses the pagename in the Sidebar. To replace a missing textbox in the Header, choose another theme and then change it back to the original one.
Sometimes you may want a different text in the titlebar and not display it on the page itself. Or not display it at all.
So use that textbox in the Header layer. Type your text. Do Command-T to open the font palette and make the font smaller (Or do Command--(minus)). Then select the textbox. In the Inspector choose T, click a color to open the color palette and drag the opacity slider to 0 (zero).
Resize the textbox. You may want to change the height of the Header layer.
Do Command-Shift-B to move the textbox to the back, possibly behind other objects.
Next add a optional second textbox to the Header layer and use that one to display text on the page.
If you want to move the textbox to the front again to make changes, but can't remember the location on the page, drag the area with the mouse to select the objects.
Deselect objects you do not want to move forward by Command-dragging the mouse over these objects.
Next do Command-Shift-F to move the textbox to the front. Repeat the steps in reverse order to make the text visible.

Receiving Transaction Processor runs even if processing mode is ON-LINE

Hi All,
We have a problem with receiving. The profile option RCV: Processing Mode is set to ON-LINE at site level. We observed that the Receiving Transaction Processor is running for a bunch of transactions with IMMEDIATE processing mode.
We checked the responsibility level and user level profile options too and nothing is set. only at site level we have that profile option set to ON-LINE.
What could be the reason for this Transaction Processor to run???

IS-Retail: Site stock levels in Store and DC

Hi Friends,
I have created a site 1200. I maintained the same as DC in WB01 and created article and in Logistics:DC view and maintained stock level like reorder point, max stock , etc.
If I have to extend the same article to another DC and I want to maintain stock levels for site (DC) separately, how to do this ?
How to create the same site 1200 as Store for maintaining Logistic:Store view. I tried to create in WB01 and it says site already exists. In the list of store, 1200 is not appearing.
Can the stock levels be different or same for DC and Store for a site?

Two types of sites are used in SAP Retail:
a)Distribution Centers that store and prepare merchandise for
other sites or customers-Profile 0100 Category -B
b)Stores which present merchandise and sell it to consumers
Profile -0110/0120 Category -A
Only One Reference Site will be created each for Distribution
Center and Store. In Reference Site no stocks will be
maintained .
Stocks will be maintained individually for DC and Stores.
For e.g Create Ref DC 1000 and use it in WB01 for your New
DC 1001 so that all common data wil be copied . Same applies to Stores. Ref Store 2000 and use it for New Store 2001.
