    Hello,
i have the SB Audigy 2 ZS and a Logitech 2. Soundsystem but also a Headset (Phone + Micro) for use when gaming and using voice coms.
So here is my problem. In my current speakersystem i am only able to plug in the Headphone into an aditional plug, but not the microphone. But for using my Headset when gaming i need the micros also so i have to plug it into the SB Audigy into Line out 2 and the micro into micro. So far so good, but when i select in the audiopreferences / Speakersetup " speakersystem or headphones i only get sound at Line out and Line out 2 is silent.
If i set the settings to Quadrophonic or 5. etc i get sound at Line Out 2 also but only the soundsignals that should come from behind and not the whole spectrum of sounds deli'vered.
So is there any way to have both Line Out & 2 give me a signal good for Headphones / 2 Speaker system?
All other ways i only have Line Out Frontsignal and Line Out 2 rear signal, what doesnt fit realy my needings.

The soundcard is operating as designed what you need to do is set speakers to 2. and use a splitter connected to line-out .

  • 5.1 rear out doesn't work, but line out and front stereo does

I got my new HP Pavilion p6-2440el Desktop today, but when I tried to plug my 5.1 audo to it (the one with the 3 jacks)  it turned out that the 5.1 audio doesn't work, and the Windows'es "playback devices" panel lists the "IDT High definition audio" as not plugged. Sticking any jack to the front or into the line out in the rear changes it to plugged, but obviously with the stereo sound only. I even tried to download the more recent audio driver (found it in google, 6.10.6486.0, the one I got from the Windows update had a lower version) but it's still the same. Any idea how I can fix it? Thanks.

I am sorry, but to get your issue more exposure I would suggest posting it in the commercial forums since this is a commercial computer. You can do this at http://h30499.www3.hp.com/hpeb/ .

  • Distortion workaround: can chip swap using line out jack for rear out ja

I am using a SB Audigy EAX. My headphones sound like a blown speaker mostly out of left ear. I tryed everything including reinstalling xp on my dell and nothing worked [yes I tried other headphones to no avail]. Finally I played around with the balance and realised that the left and right channels were leaking together slightly so I think there is a physical problem on the card. As a temp solution I have set my card to use four speakers and plugged my headphones into the rear out which is a different jack on the card. It sounds fine from the rear out jack but I wish there was a way to have the card use the rear out jack for line out output. In other words is there a program or driver that can tell the chip to swap line out jack for rear out jack? My card is no longer under warranty and I only ever use heaphones. The problem with my temp solution is that some winamp plugins and games don't function properly.

On my sound blaster ex, when connecting through the analogue 6 channel output, Line Out 3 is a 4 pole mini jack. My sound system is only 5. and doesn't need the centre rear speaker. Does any one know if in this case I can just use a standard 3 pole stereo jack for subwoofer and front center?
For analog 5. it should work. See the user's guide.

  • No signal from audigy 2zs line out j

Hey there....due to a virus, I recently had to format my dri've and reinstall XP and all my apps including software for my Audigy 2 ZS soundcard. Before the format I had my sound and video card connect to my TV to extend my PC display and audio to my home entertainment system. The external speakers were connected through the line out # jack on the rear of the sound card and I could hear everything playing just fine when my TV was on and the correct video signal line input was selected (video #2 in my case), but now I can't hear anything (video is playing back fine on the TV, just with no sound). I've checked my audio settings and I think they're correct - if there is a mute switch for any of the line out jacks in the creative audigy software or in windows' volume control panel I sure can't find it.
I'm sure its a settings thing because I didn't touch the cable connections, and I double checked to ensure they are all connected tightly/correctly as they were before the reinstall.
If anybody has any pointers, man that would be helpful....thanks!

Yup, my digital speakers are connected through the digital out jack.
Device manager shows the device working correctly - no issues or exclamation marks.
Not one ioda of hardware was moved, not one cable unplugged or any other config changed before or after the re-formatting of the hard dri've. Software o/s and applications only.
The soundblaster card properties in device manager shows no conflicts....everything is working fine, but there is a setting somewhere that is being missed I suspect; I have gone ever every option in all of the soundblaster audigy audio control software installed that came bundled with the card, checked online for latest drivers which I've got installed, and did a clean uninstall/reinstall using creative's 6 step-by-step guide. I also checked all windows xp based audio controls even though I've checked the option that enables the audigy controls to sync with the windows ones as you probably already know.
To my knowledge, there is no way to disable line out signal from this card - its there, you plug in your external and go. And with no config changes at all, no hardware changes, no cables unplugged etc. I don't know what else to do. (except email creative support which I did a few minutes ago).
    Thanks Katman.

  • Line Out broken.

    Hello all,
    I have a problem.
The line-out socket in my G5 is broken. I think it is physical damage (possibly caused by someone tripping on a wore plugged into it).
I am fairly technically minded, but thought I would check... does anyone have any experience with this problem?
If I said I was thinking about boring a bigger hole and replacng the sicket with a stereo 1/4" Neutrick locking jack socket what would people say? Possible?
    Any comments, suggestions, advice appreciated.
    Cheers.

Hi. As can be seen from page 112 here
    http://akserver.dyndns.org/macosx/hw/asm/PowerMac/PowerMac-G3-G4-G5/PowerMac-G5/ powermac_g5.pdf
the rear audio out/line out socket is mounted on the main logic board.
To facilitate access for inspection and repair, the rear exhaust fan assembly can be removed
    http://www.info.apple.com/usen/cip/pdf/g5/073-0814.pdf
Personally - if the problem with the rear socket could not easily be fixed, I might be irresistably tempted to use the front audio socket. Good Luck.

  • Where in the hell is the Line-Out jack in SB24Bit

I just got a new system with that card included and I obviously wanted to do what is normally always done and what I did on my older system with the SBLi've - plug in the speakers into the speaker jack and plug in my stereo system into the LineOut... but there doesn't seem to be such a jack on that card!!! What is this?!?!?

As told in the User's Manual on "About your Hardware":
    . (BLUE)
Line In/Mic In/Digital I/O jack (DIGITAL_IO) Connects to analog devices like music synthesizers and other line-level sources.
Connects to an external microphone for voice input.
Connects to the Digital I/O Module (included with Sound Blaster Li've! 24-bit Digital Audio or available separately with other models).
    2. (GREEN)
Line Out jack (_) Connects to Front Left and Front Right inputs on powered analog speakers or an external amplifier for audio output.
    3. (BLACK)
Line Out 2 jack (_2) Connects to Rear Left, Rear Right and Side Right (only on 7. speaker systems) inputs on powered analog speakers or an external amplifier for audio output.
    4. (ORANGE)
Line Out 3 jack (_3) Connects to Front Center, Subwoofer and Side Left (only on 7. speaker systems) or Rear Center (only on 6. speaker systems) inputs on powered analog speakers, or an external amplifier for audio output.
Also, check the audio settings on 'Creative Surround Mixer' panel.

  • Sound problems with back line out port

Hey everyone, I just sent an email to MSI Tech Support, but figure I would post a message here as well.  I just put together a new system, but I'm having a problem with the back line out port.
My problem: When I plug in the front panel audio connectors (Left Audio Out, Left Audio Return, Right Audio Out, Right Audio Return) in the motherboard on pins 5-6 and 9-10 of JAUD1, the back line out does not work properly.  I get sound on only the right speaker of the headphones.
    More info:
    - Audio Driver: 5.10.0.5620 (from MSI CD)
    - If I instead plug the headphones on the front audio line out, then sound is fine
    - Here's the strange part, if I unplug the front audio connectors from the motherboard (and short pins 5-6, 9-10 with the jumpers, obviously), then the sound on the back line out works properly!
    - My Windows sound settings are fine
Has anyone heard of this problem?  Any ideas/suggestions of what I could try?
Could this be a defective board?  Could it be bad wires on the case?  Seems unlikely since both back line out and front line out work depending on what I have setup.
    Help! :-)
    Thanks,
    icab

    Rear sound problem
Third time this has come up in 1 or 2 weeks.
    Steve,
I appreciate the reply, but I believe you are wrong.  Yes, I have searched the forum and did find that thread.  Yes, I have read the manual.  The only thing that it says is: "If you don't want to connect to the front audio header, pins 5 & 6, 9 & 10 have to be jumpered in order to have signal output directed to the rear audio ports. Otherwise, The Line-out connector on the back panel will not function."  That's not my case since I want both ports to work (not outputting the signal both at the same time, obviously).
This can't be ByDesign.  Either my board is defective or MSI is not following the Intel Front Panel I/O Connectivity Guide correctly.  The whole point of having 4 wires for the front panel audio ports, 2 of the wires being Aud_Ret_R and Aud_Ret_L, is so that the audio signal is sent to the front line out and _returned_ to the back line out if nothing is plugged in the front line out.
I have an IBM machine with an intel mobo at work and it works as mentioned in the design guide.
Any other ideas, anyone? I can still RMA my motherboard, but it's a design issue, i guess I'm stuck. I never got an automated reply from MSI Tech Support, so I guess my email never went through.  I'll send another email and let the forum know of the results.
    Thanks,
    Igor

  • No audio from line out port

hello, i am using plug-powered speakers on my powermac g5 using the front headphone port. the speakers work fine this way, but when i use them on the line out port in the back, i get a high pitched hissing sound and very quiet audio. the computer detects the speakers, and i am sure i'm using the output port ] ))) and not the input port >o<. how can i get the speakers to work from the line out port so i don;t have to use the front headphones port? thanks!

i have a question. if i have standard apple ipod headphones, and use them on the rear audio out port, will i get the same sound as the headphones port on the front?
i still can't get this to work. i'm starting to believe this is a hardware problem, all the settings are identical for audio out and headphones in audio MIDI setup, but i'm still not getting any sound when i use the rear.

  • DJ Mixer recieving audigy 2 line-out at very low levels

Hello to everyone on the forum.
I am having a problem hooking up my Numark 5000FX mixer to my audigy 2 soundcard. What I am trying to do is have two 2cm line out to RCA cables from front/rear speaker out on the card to two phono channels on the mixer. The phono inputs are set to line on the mixer.
The mixer is recieving this "line level output" at levels that barely register on the pre fader meters. Meanwhile, I have an old pre-amped philips turntable that I can connect to the mixer the same way and it works fine (peaking at 0dB).
All the levels from the soundcard are at maximum, and the gain on the mixer is at max also.
Does anyone know what could be causing this?
    Thanks for your time,
    Kim

This may have been the wrong section to post this in, sorry. Maybe if a mod could move it...

  • NO SIGNAL FROM SOUND CARD LINE OUT JA

I have a Sound Blaster Li've-Value Digital 024 card on my pc, and I have been trying to use the line out (black) jack, but there is no audio signal coming from it. I use the green jack for my external speakers and they work fine,I have plugged them into the black output and still no sound.
What am I doing wrong, I need som help ?

    Dubmaster,
The Black Jack is the rear speaker output, it does not play the same signal as the front speaker out. Set the system to 4. on speaker settings in Audio HQ and it will enable the rear speakers. This will turn on the output for the rear jack.

  • Changing Line Out to Line

    Hi there
Got a Creative X-FI Xtreme Music sound card. I also have 4 speakers that go to an external amp and I'm using 2x stereo -> rca cables, one per set of speakers. One set always works obviously due to the card having a default line out jack, however how do I change the the line and/or microphone jack to work as another line out. I remember that I could this by right clicking on a port picture and changing it to "Rear Speakers" on my onboard Realtek software, however cannot find the option to change what jacks do in the Creative software.
    Any tips? :-)
    TIA

Not a situation I've ever come across but my guess would be the STO 800 qty can not be reduced to 600 because the STO has had a Delivery or series of Deliveries created with reference to it. (That or it's related to the Delivery Scherdule).
The Delivery that has been created with reference to the outstanding 200 needs to be cancelled or reduced first, before the STO can be updated OR the delivery schedule on the PO needs to be updated first (as Arakish said).
Very logical, very SAP, not allowing you to adjust the item when subsequent processing has been carried out that must be reversed/updated.

  • Internal speakers and line out at the same time?

I'd like to connect my Touchsmart 300-1125 to my stereo amplifier, to sometimes be able to play sound through the amp. The problem is that the internal speakers go silent whenever there is a cable in the line out jack (3.5 mm), so for times when I don't need the amp I have to fiddle with the cable to enable the internal speakers again.
Can I configure the audio driver so it doesn't disable the internal speakers when there is a cable in the jack?
(note that my model doesn't have the audio "phono" plugs on the rear, just a 3.5 mm headphone jack on the side and a 3.5 mm line out jack on the rear)
    Thanks
    Mike

    Thanks Vidya,
I was hoping for a solution in the direction of your second link, ie a driver upgrade that would offer more control over the audio chip settings. It seems though that Analog Devices that delivers the audio chip for my Touchsmart doesn't offer any driver downloads, and refers back to the PC maker. And there is no audio driver when looking at downloads for my model on HP's site...
Anyway, inspired by this article http://forum.onmac.net/showthread.php?t=1239 I went ahead looking in the Registry and found this key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Class\{4D36E96C-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}\0000\AD1984A\FrontShutsOffInternalSpeaker
and when I set it to REG_BINARY:00 it seems to do mostly what I want, always leaving the internal speakers on. The only little annoyance is that it it leaves the speakers on both when I plug into the headphones jack and the rear line out jack, while I would have preferred to keep the auto-shutoff feature for the headphone jack.
    Best regards

  • Z97 Gaming 5 on-board line-out issue

Have an issue with the rear mobo line-out port, it crackles through my speakers constantly. Tried couple of things like re-installing drivers etc but hasn't seemed to work. Literally just built the rig so bit disheartened. Would really appreciate some help. Thanks.

    does other ports works fine?
have you tried a different speaker sets?

  • Mac Pro 2.66 Line Out not functioning.

One of our Mac Pros on display here has a set of Altec Lansing speakers attached to it, but the line out on the back of the Mac no longer works (it did at one time). I've double-checked the settings and there is no audio coming out of the ports. However, I switch the cable to the headphone jack on the front, and boom, instant sound. Dunno why.

    This should fix your problem.
1.1. Trash file com.apple.BezelServices.plist in your Home > Library > Preferences folder.
    1.2. Empty the Trash.
1.3. Either Log out then log in, or restrt your Mac.
1.4. Check the volume keys' functions a few times in the hours after performing the steps above.
    2. More than likely, an errant Startup or Login Item maybe the cause. Perhaps some third-party utility you may have
    installed to control iTunes?
My "Troubleshooting Startup and Login Items" FAQ can help you pin that down if such an item is causing the problem.
    3. If none of the above sorts it out, after the problem occurs, immediately check these Console logs for additional clues.
    Good luck!
