Line spacing (leading) when converting web page to PDF with Acrobat Pro 8.1.2
I recently upgraded from Acrobat Pro version 7.0.9 to version 8.1.2 (Windows XP Pro). In many cases, when I "Convert current web page to an Adobe PDF file" using the Adobe PDF toolbar in Internet Explorer, the spacing between lines is much larger with version 8 than it was with version 7. Has anyone else observed this? Is there any way to control leading?
Peter

Error converting web page to PDF using Acrobat 8 IE 9 on Vista
I am getting the following errow when I try converting web page to PDF using Acrobat 8 on IE 9 on Vista. This worked previously but it appears that a recent update to Acrobat caused issues with this functionality. This happened once before and after some troubleshooting the technician wasable to get the functionality working again. The Adobe printer shows up with "Error" however I can still create PDFs from outlook.

When converting word doc to pdf with Acrobat words getting cut off?
Hi all,
As you can see from this example:
When converting from word document the words on the pages in the final PDF are getting cut off on the edge of the page?
I've adjusted the margins in page layout in MS Word to Normal, Moderate & Wide etc, etc
Never ever had this problem before...does anybody have any idea why or what I could do?
Thanks in advance. As a quick check, set the printer to the Adobe PDF printer in WORD and then check for the proper operation. Also be sure the paper dimensions and orientation of your document and the printer properties match up (I have had some problems with the orientation when I have auto-rotate on). You may have to play some to get something to work. I have done that before and settled on a process that works for me, but I can't claim it all makes perfect sense. To many things are going on in some sense.

I get the error message "Could not access Acrobat's web capture facility. Acrobat may be busy or waiting for input." I have Win 8 OS also. Is there any way to convert?
I doubt that PDF Maker of AA X will work in OFFICE 2013. You should be able to print to the Adobe PDF printer, though I am not sure how AA X works in Win8, another potential problem.
For a web site, you should be able to open the web site directly in AA X. -
Convert web pages to PDF in Acrobat
This question was posted in response to the following article: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/pro/using/WS58a04a822e3e50102bd615109794195ff-7f67.w.h tml
It sounds like you're using Acrobat X. I would suggest you read up on Protected View: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/acrobat/pro/using/WS5f2d904ab3d326eb844218e12f38765a6f-7fff.ht ml
This may work if you turn off Protected View, but be sure to read the information before doing so.
Let us know how it goes!

Link problem when converting MS Word to PDF with Acrobat Professional
Hello all,
I have the following problem:
When I have a MS Word document with links to other files inside and I convert it to PDF the links are converted from relative paths to absolute paths.
The problem is created by Acrobat as the links in the MS Word file are relative (I have checked this by moving the different docs to another directory and confirmed that the links still work after the move).
How can I make the paths in the PDF relative again? I know there is a plugin from Evermap (and I can confirm this works) but I do not want to use this plugin (=read: spend another $190 dollars) as the license for the Acrobat Professional is expensive enough . Is there a way I can convert the paths within Adobe Acrobat easily? Or better: can I adjust the settings in Acrobat to a new standard when all converted documents contain relative paths?
Backgroundinfo:
- Adobe Acrobat 8 Professional
- Windows XP (SP2)
- MS Word 2002
Thanks in advance!
BartDear Steve,
I have tried what u suggested: I put all the documents (word + linked documents) into the same folder on the local-drive (C). Then I recreated the links in the word document to be sure they were matching. After that I converted the word document to an PDF and confirmed the links were still working in the PDF document.
Then the biggest challenge: copying the pdf and linked documents to another drive&directory. As you can guess: Unfortunately the links did not work anymore.
Any other suggestions?
If I use the Evermap-tool (30 day-trial) I can look at the links and this is how it is 'coded' in the pdf.
first link: ../../../../test/link_a.pdf
second link: ../../../../test/link_b.pdf
and yes this will work if you put the documents in the directory test in the root of the local-drive but not in a different subdirectory.
Anyone ideas?
Grtz,

Convert Web Page to PDF formatting problem - 1st line of each paragraph outdented
Hi Folks,
I get a formatting problem when I convert any web page to PDF using the 'Convert Web Page to PDF' option - the 1st line of each paragraph is outdented.
eg if i convert http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/using/whats-new-acrobat-xi.html I get this:
I get the same problem using IE 9, Chrome (latest) or Firefox 30.0. I don't get it converting a Word doc to PDF.
I'm using Adobe Acrobat XI Pro on a PC running Windows 7.
Is there a simple setting somewhere I am missing?
Any help much appreciated! Are you using "Adobe PDF" or "PDF or XPS?" I sounds like "Adobe PDF," but trying to be sure. Have you updated your Acrobat to the latest version? If not, try that.

How can I convert web page to PDF? When I upgraded to 4, it does not work.
Since I upgraded to firefox 4 I can not convert web page to PDF, before there was a place in the upper left corner that said convert to PDF. If there is not a way to do this in 4 then how can I go back to the old firefox. If I can't I guess I will just uninstall FireFox.

Error Converting Web Page to PDF?
Just recently my adobe acrobat 9.4
refused to convert web pages to pdf. I get the following message:
Error Has Occurred
Line:11
Char:3
Error: Permission Denied
URL:res//C:\ProgramFIles/Commonfiles/Adobe/Acrobat/ActiveX/AcrolEFavClient.dll/AcrolEcaptL RE.HTML
Does anyone know what this means and why it just started occurring after I've had the program for a few years?
I tried the modify/repair function which does nothing and uploaded all updates but I'm forced to resort to copying the relevant info
by copying to a word program. Any ideas?

Thank you for posting. Me too experience that error when I tried to convert my payroll webpage to pdf but when I update my browser to the latest version I find no problem.
Are you mean the problem lies in the browser? rgmorey said he update to the latest IE version but he still has that issue. I don't have this problem and I use two browsers, IE and firefox.
I install a pdf creating tool and it can be served as virtual printer to save web page as pdf. And it also allows you to add password and compress text or image of pdf file to reduce the size. In my opinion, a better way to preserve webpage content to largest extent is to save webpage as image firstly then convert it to pdf file. -
Convert web pages to pdf in Firefox?
I just started using Firefox 3.6. Is there a reliable add-on for Firefox that will enable me to convert web pages to pdf's, complete with working links?
I have Acrobat 9 Standard installed. When I used IE, I had a toolbar that allowed such a conversion, but I haven't come across the same for Firefox.
Help?
Thanks.

Adobe Acrobat Pro 9.1.3 will not convert web page to Pdf
While using Acrobat 9.1.3 Pro, I cannot convert web pages to PDF format.
the output is garbled and text is cyrillic or backwards.
Using Internet Explorer 7.0.5730.13You do not have all the fonts embedded, but the basic document looks fine. There is an issue withe the printer setup in your browser that is leading to part of the page running off the paper - but that is a browser issue and not Acrobat. In some cases, a simple fix is to print as landscape.

Internet Explorer 9 Convert Web Page to PDF error
Hi I have a user that is having a problem using the Convert button to convert web pages to PDF's in IE 9. In some instances they get an error that says "Acrobat had an error converting to PDF". Printing to the PDF printer seems to work flawlessly but it isnt optimal when there are hundreds of pages that need to be converted. Anyone else seen an error like this? I have repaired the Acrobat X install (10.1.0) but still get the error. It does not happen to all sites and usually, attempting to convert a second (and even third) time succeeds.
Looks like this might be an intermittent bug, since Acrobat 10.1 added support for IE 9. Can you report the bug here:
https://www.adobe.com/cfusion/mmform/index.cfm?name=wishform
Also, do you have the same issue in Acrobat directly when choosing File > Create PDF > From Web Page? -
We have an internal web based system in which we would like to 'print' one of the screens as a report. However, when we use the Convert Web Page to PDF option, the resulting PDF doesn't look anything close to the web page. We are wanting to use the Convert Web Page option so the links to the images remain and can be clicked on and viewed from our internal servers.
Resulting PDF
Original Web Page we are attempting to convert:
As you can see, the two do not resemble each other very much. The image thumbnails on the PDF screen are located at the bottom of the web page we are converting.
We are receiving the same results on two different computers running two different OS (Windows XP and Windows 7) with two different versions of Acrobat (Acrobat 6 Professional and Acrobat 8 Professional).
Does anyone have any suggestions? The Convert Web Page option also doesn't work well on eBay Order screen either. I stopped using it years ago but a coworker would really like to be able to share our QC Inspection Reports with other people in the company easily.
Any help and suggestions would be apprecitated.
Regards,
GilleyBill,
Thanks again for the reply. I am using the Convert Web Page to PDF selection on the Adobe toolbar which is available in IE. I printed the page from File >> Print and it looks good except no links. It is also printed in a Portrait style page layout.
Sample:
When I used the Convert Web Page to PDF from the Adobe toolbar, it looks like it is attempting to 'print' it in a landscape mode and that may be where the problem is.
Sample:
These are the same report. However, I can't find a preference to tell it to convert in a Portrait mode instead of landscape. Any clues on how to force it to always convert Portrait?
Thanks again,

Lost 'convert web page to pdf'
Acrobat 9 pro, Windows 7, IE9 32bit. Had in the menu bar the two comands 'convert web page to pdf' and (can't remeber the other, something about slect?). Just recently noticed that they no longer show. Don't see them in IE addon's, or anywhere to activate them.
Especially want the convert web page to pdf feature.
Regards
Gary2gARY, I know exactly what you're saying, because this same thing happened to me. Using Acrobat 9, all updates: the Convert & Select toolbars for Acrobat conversion WERE, DEFINITELY, available a short time ago, in 64-bit IE (8 or 9, not sure, but now on IE9), and then one day recently THEY WEREN'T. I KNOW this was true because my 32-bit IE will not open certain WebLink8 pages which my City Council uses to archive city council packets, so I always had to use IE 64-bit... and I was ALWAYS able to use the Convert toolbar. I liked using it because all the hyperlinks WORKED when that was used, as opposed to "print" to "Adobe PDF," where none of the hyperlinks are clickable. But now it simply disappeared.
I've read about all the "Acrobat 9 PDF Maker is not compatible with 64-bit IE," but I'm telling you, IT WAS, at least for awhile.
I can't "enable" the toolbar extensions, because they are NOT there under "Manage Add-ons." I also already had my "Enable third-party browser extension" checked under IE9's Tools-Internet Options-Advanced.
I don't want to upgrade to Acrobat 10 just to get the toolbar back. This is MOST frustrating! -
