Line thickness for tables

Hallo all,
I have a problem with lines (borders) in tables. I can't make them thinner than 1pt and they will only rise in 1pt steps. Is that an error or is that a restriction of Pages? Line shapes I can only shrink to 0,25pt when trying to make them thinner than 1pt. This is a little bit disturbing, because 1pt lines are too thick for page filling tables. I think they are too dominant.

It was my only issue with Pages 1.0, which required doing certain things differently than if the issue was not there (such as using PDF backgrounds prepped in Illustrator and other haX). As I have dozens of custom templates this was fairly important. Thus it wasn't hard to remember and was one of the first things I tested when 2.0 arrived.
Not only is this fixed, it is fixed properly allowing 0.25, 0.5 and 0.75 fractional thickness on table borders.
Kudos to Apple for this and all the other improvements to the product.

Formating Line thickness for lines in graphs with more than 6 lines.

I have a line graph with more than 6 lines on it and I'm trying to make them all 1px.
I can specify a line thickness for the first 6 lines but after that, the lines go back to the default thickness.
Is it possible to change the default line thickness for a graph or format the line thickness for the 7th line and more?

Good news! I found out how to format more than 6 lines of data and it's really simple to do!
In the bottom left hand corner of the Format Chart Data, next to the Clear All button, is a button marked ADD.
If you click this button, another row is added allowing you to format the 7th line of data.
Click again and you get a row for the 8th line and keep clicking to add more lines.
I'm making a note of it here in case it is useful to someone out there who searches on this problem in the future.

Why do borders for some cells allow changes in line thickness, but other cells are locked in only one thickness?

It looks like you should be able to choose different line thickness for cell borders, but for some cells you can get three choices (0.5, 1, 2 pt), but in other cases you can only do 0.5?
I can't make a consistent thickness border around the outside of all my cells!

Yes, I have lots of ideas. After all that work you probably don't want to hear them.
1. I would use PDF versions of rotated text boxes, inserted into the cells as background Fill rather than floating the actual text boxes over the table.
2. I would never merge a cell, or divide, a cell. Too many problems await you down the road if you do that. There are many ways in Numbers to avoid having to do those things. These are things we must do in Excel to get by, but we don't have to do them in Numbers.
3. There is a Line Type called "Thin" that has only one size, and another line type shown as a heavier solid for which the weight can be adjusted. It's possible that you have some places where you need to change the line type.
I believe that your difficulty may come from the merging of cells causing some ambiguity as to which border needs to be selected to change the display. This would be a bug, because you should be able to just select the border and edit it, but your table may have become so complex that the program has lost track of things in the course of all your changes.
My suggestion is to print your table just as it is, for reference, and start over in a new document, not an imported one. Don't merge or split. Use multiple simple tables and the occasional text box for annotation. You will be on your way to doing things the "Numbers Way".

Office PDF Print and office abobe PDF creator(adobe plugin) create different result. It seems that Adobe PDf creater improves line thickness to 1pt instead of 0,3pt. Is there a setting to change to original 0,3 because this 0,3 are standard line thickness for our documents. with adobe V9 the line was 0,3pt. (we need thin, mid and thick lines)
After 2 day's google searching this is the last change for hope :-)

Thanks a lot for the fast reply, i have tested it with 300dpi but I didn't get a different result. The bad thing is that not all lines getting thicker. if there is no arrow or ball at the end of the line the line thickness will not change (see Pic). I think this is a Acrobat error, i don't think that this will improve the pdf quality if the progam changes only some lanes and not all to 1pt.
I Think we must downgrade to version 9.

How to increase line thickness in line charts?

Hi,
I am using Crystal Reports 11.
I can change line thickness for only 4 series using "Format connector line" in the Design window. When the chart has more than 4 series, I can't change the thickness of lines except for the default 4 series.
I try using the other method to change the thinness of line, i.e.:
Got to the Preview window - click the line in chart - right click and go in Format Connector Line - change the thickness.
But, when I close the Preview window and re-open it again, I find that the situation is the same: line thickness is changed for only 4 series.
It looks like this way is effective just in computer memory.
Is this caused by the old version of CR?
If not, any approach to handle this problem?

I find "Apply Changes to All Charts" under Chart Menu, but after I made some changes on the chart, it is still grey and I could not use it.

Line height of table in smartforms

I have created a table in smartform. I want to set row height in the table as it is available in template. Is there any option available to set height for the table row???

In table node it is not possible to define the height of a table line. Please find the bold paragraphs in the following text(SAP library)...
Table tab properties minimum height is set the total table height.
The line height depends on the font height used in Paragraph format for your text element.
Line Types for Tables
The height of a table depends of the amount of data to be displayed or printed in a table. Therefore, you cannot use the line types in the Table Painter alone to describe the table layout, as you do it with line types for templates:
With templates the view in the Table Painter directly maps the output on the form. This is possible because the structure of a template does not change at runtime.
With tables the view in the Table Painter is an overview of all existing line types. However, it does not indicate which line types are used when for table output.
Dynamic Cell Height
The height of a table depends on the number of table lines and on the height of all table lines included in the output. The height of each table line depends on the highest cell, which again depends on the contents to be displayed in this cell. When filling table cells with contents, nothing is truncated, instead, the cell height is increased.
In the Table Painter, the height of the line types is displayed as a constant because it has no meaning for the output.
Unlike with line types for tables, for templates you specify a fixed line height for the line type. Any output that does not fit into a cell is truncated.

Changing horisontal line thickness in equations

Hi,
Is there a way to change the horisontal line thickness for divisions in equations?
I tried doing it on the Reference page, thinking that "Single line" was perhaps used for the lines in divisions, but to not avail.

Mats, I was hoping that one of the FM math-using folks here might have an answer for you, but perhaps they're all at "summer math camp" right now <g>. Unfortunately I've never heard of it being possible to change the line thickness -- or any other display characteristic of equations, for that matter. Using Numbers, I need to time-stamp each line in a table for when it was entered

I need to time-stamp each line in a table for when it was entered.
I have a formula which is
"=IF(F18="","",NOW())"
it gives me the answer I want, but every time I edit any data in the formula is recalculates the date/time to reflect the most recent edit. I do not want to do this. I am open to any and all solutions including using a script. I do not really know anything about scripts except that they are really easy to use once it's written.
I have a formula i use in excel but it requires circular references in excel. I tried using this formula in numbers but I get the error that says I cannot reference a cell that references back to the cell i’m inputting the formula into (circular reference. It is easy to use in excel just by limiting the # of iterations in preferences. I can’t seem to find any such preference in numbers. Do you know of one? here is the formula:
"=IF(D4=”",”",IF(B4=”",NOW(),B4))"
I use it to time stamp each line in a spreadsheet. It is the only way to keep all the previous line from recalculating everytime I add a new line. If I can’t use this formula, do you know of a way to timestamp each line without having it update everytime I add a line or edit the form?

Check the Insert menu:
The highlighted item is slightly misnamed, requiring a bit more than a simple selection (or keypress combination*) to act as a time stamp.
Simply choosing the menu item willproduce the result shown in A2: A time and date value is entered, but only the Date part is displayed.
Setting the cell format to Date and Time, with both parts displayed (as I've done in column B) does show both parts of the Date and Time value, but as you can see, the time part is set to midnight, as it is in any cell where you have entered only the Date part of a Date and Time value. The date was entered here in the same manner as in A3.
To enter both the current Date and current Time, the process has a few more steps:
Select the cell
Go Insert > Date & Time
Before confirming the entry, double-click the cell (now showing the Date) to open this small dialogue:
Click the pop-up menu under Choose Date format:
Choose the last item in the list.
Results as shown in A4 and B4 of the table above.

If doing your own, you may want to try for something eassier to get your fingers on.

I have to print a table in the smartform at the end of all the line items.
The problem is
For example there are 2 Header Details say A B and header A has 15 line items and B has 8 line items.
Now I am printing header A line items first. Suppose each page can have 5 line items. At the end of line items for header A I need to print a table at the end of line items for each header

I have 2 tables one is the Header table and the other is Item table. After printing all the item details and then it should print the Header level details at the end of the items details.

Line thickness in Apex 4.02 flash chart for Legend

Does anyone know how to set Line thickness in Apex 4.02 flash chart for Legend?
My users can read the label fine, but the part where it shows the line color is very small and hard to match to the chart.

Many attributes can be set in the Chart Attributes page Custom XML section. Line thinkness. Legend font size, height and width. But I haven't found a setting for the "icon" size. Even thought I increased font size and the size of the Legend on the page, the legend "lines" remained unchanged in size.

Refer the field Object No (OBJNR) in COEP.. In your case, the OBJNR would be ORXXXXYYYYYYYYYYY, where OR means Order, XXXX = Contr Area and YYYYYYYY = Int Order No with preceeding zeroes
Qty is also recorded in COEP
