Line to print
My printer asked me if I want my document to be printed on usual 70 lines/inch or maybe on 60 lines/inch because it's a kind of quite uncoated paper. When I preflight my document, Colors and Inks says always 70lines/inch, it doesn't matter if I assign a coated or uncoated profile. Is my printer request somehow related to my color profile or not? I'm scared now that in order to have it not too dark and inked, because I used an uncoated profile, I lightened the image quite a bit and now they also will print with less lines... the result will be too light and soft?
My question is: how can I relate and control the line printed from my printer with my document profiles?
Thanks,
anT
You dont. The printer, in setting the job to image to their imaging device, be it film or direct to plate, sets the lpi. You don't. You can choose the nearest color space, ie, Web Uncoated v2, or Sheetfed uncoated v2; but you shouldn't be lightening nor darkening your pictures. You should work from a calibrated monitor, and simply strive to make your pictures look just right.
The inking heaviness or lightness is the responsibility of the pressman to get right.
The lpi sounds awfully low. What are you having the job printed on? And what kind of press?

How do you get a list of your contacts nick names and their phone numbers on line and print them out? I've been trying to figure out how to get the list to print out but I can't even find a complete list to view on Verizon's web site. Does anyone know how to do this?
Log into your online account. In the, 'I want to', box type, Manage Contacts.
Place your cursor over any contact, a pop screen will appear with the option to print your contacts -

Header line only prints on first page of multiple page document
Hi, I've created a SmartForms table and it has the Header, Main, and Footer sections. I've created table lines for the Header and Main sections. In the Header section, I've checked 'at Start of Table' and 'at Page Break'. The form prints multiple pages fine, BUT the header line only prints on the first page and not at any of the multiple page breaks.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what might be causing this?
Thanks,Hi,
Remove that 'at Start of Table' check box and check it.

I have vertical lines when printing even after changing cartridges.
I have vertical lines when printing even after changing cartridges. There are no lines when copying, faxing or scanning, only printing. I have cleaned the glass, scanner and even dusted where the toner cartride slides in. Any suggestions?
Sorry but I have worked on laser printers for over 20 years and never encountered your issue. That is of course if you are explaining it correctly. When you make a copy to be printed or print a reports page from the printer or send a print job to the printer, if in all these cases you get the line, then yes the issue is either the toner cartridge or the fuser. If you make a copy to be printed and it prints without the line (Put original in adf, press copy button and print should come out), then you have one weird unit since it does not make sense since the print formatter on the unit whether making a copy or printing from the computer or unit itself uses the same hardware. Now to test if the printed copy has a line then just put a sheet of paper on top of the feed tray and do a self test from the printer. When the back edge of the paper enters the printer, quickly open the toner door to stop the printing. Remove the toner cartridge and look at the image below. If the defect is present the toner cartridge is the issue and if the image below does not have the defect, then the fuser needs to be replaced. Best I can do. Good Luck.

Remove grid lines when printing
I am trying to print a set of financial statements and do not want to see the grid lines when printing the final document. I cannot work out how to do this.
Some posts I have read say that grid lines are described as cell borders and suggest that they can be removed using the inspectors "cell borders " facility.
I have tried to do this but cannot make it happen. If I were to successfully remove the borders/grid lines then surely this would also remove the underlines I have inserted with great effort.
I would really appreciate anyone's help with thisOne more time, it's useful to use our brain before stating a task.
If I read well, you used some cell borders as an underline segment.
Now you pay the result of a bad design.
You have no way to remove only borders which aren't "underlining" ones.
Next time think before and use the Underline text attribute so you will be able to remove the grid easily.
I know that some spreadsheets have two structures :
grid
borders
But, those which took time to read the User Guide know that in Numbers there is a single structure :
borders.
So, remove or hide grid means remove or hide borders.
When we work with a tool, we may ask it what it is designed to do, not what we guess it will be able to achieve.

Every other line of print is cut off on my Photosmart C4750
I have recently replaced and aligned new cartridges on my Photosmart C4750. I am printing directly from computer to printer via USB. The last two items I have printed are being cutt off every other line of print, on either the top or bottom of the printed pages. Any ideas?
Hello there, Welcome to the Forums! I hope you enjoy your experience
I noticed your post about the printing problems you are having and would like to offer you my suggestion. First of all, print using a different program to see if the issue is only within one program. If you see the issue happening no matter where you print from, run the HP Print and Scan Doctor if you're running a Windows OS.
Also, try a copy to see if there are cut offs with them as well!
Please let me know what happened and include your OS and programs you have tried printing from.
Help to find which Operating System you are running:
Which Windows Operating System am I running?

Pdf reports with Line Matrix Printer
Dear All,
I am working with oracle reports 10g and printing my reports as pdf on Line Matrix Printer but the output isn't good so we want to know how to generate this report in character mode & can be previewed and printedBonjour je m'excuse beaucoup pour poster dans un premier temps en anglais.
Missing cutting lines in print
When I printed a CD-inlay in former versions of iTunes, cutting lines were printed to make a precise cut to make an inlay for a slimline box. Since version 10.??? those cutting lines are disappeared. WHY? Does it make the update quicker/cheaper/better? Can anybody tell me WHY Apple let those 8 small lines out, and when Apple does give them back?

Decision boxes do not open fully and often 2 lines of print overlap
Decision boxes to enter passwords or other info, do not open completely, preventing access to areas requested, with no way to change the size of the box. Lines of print often overlay one another, preventing reading & understanding of data. This has never been a problem with Chrome, IE, or any other browser.
Hi Legendsofbatman
Is the printer still under warranty? If so, you could contact HP phone support as you may require a replacement printer.
Re. your query on individual ink cartridges (IIC). If you mostly print black text then an IPH (integrated printhead) based printer would suit best (many of them can work in reserve mode so the tricolor cartridge isn't needed)
There's more info on the following page

Edited by: MAHESH FADNAVIS on Apr 7, 2008 11:53 AMCan you try to print in a different printer, if the error persists then the problem is in the smartform, otherwise raise a note to SAP regarding this. I think that there is problem is with the page format in which u are taking the printout.
OR
Can you check if you have selected the framed border in the table border select pattern.
Hope That Helps
