Line upgraded to adsl2

Hello folks, my first post here so be gentle .
On wednesday morning my line was upgraded to adsl2 .. instant increase in upload speed and download stayed around my normal 4.3mb. Since then I have seen it resync a couple of times, each time the upload speed increased ( now over 1mb ) and the download speed decreased, currently at 3.9mb.
Like adsl max I take it the adsl2 has the 10 day training period? if so should I simply leave it alone for the first 10 days or would a reboot now and again help?.
I had a fault a few months back which caused my target SNR to be set to 15, will this reduce now with the different service after a period of stable time or will this have been kept at 15?.
Only other thing I have noticed is that the power on the line is:
Output power (Down/Up)
0.0 dBm / 12.8 dBm
Is this a normal figure? im nearly sure it was not at 0 before the service changed.
I would appreciate any help or suggestions on these figures.
Many thanks in advance,
Alex.

  • Line has been upgraded to ADSL2

So I requested for my line to be upgraded yesterday and I got a very fast response and noticed my line was switched to G.992.3 Annex A (ADSL2) in the early hours of the morning, thanks very much for this.
As I imagined my line is more than enough to handle the upgrade but I was wondering if the full effect has taken place yet or does it take a day to settle or something? So far I haven't noticed even the slightest of difference and also I was wondering why it's G.992.3 Annex A and not G.992.5 Annex (ADSL2+) ?
I'd also like to investigate further with my line so I'll recap what my initial problem is with the connection.
At the beginning of last year I had outstanding latency to most servers especially local and I achieved higher speeds at times as well but this isn't my concern although I could do with a tad more upload which I have achieved before, something like a stable 0.4 etc. But it's the ping which is the main concern here.
    Here is a comparison:
    January 2014
    January 2015
As you can see the ping is a significant difference and the upload is slightly better but please take into consideration that the older speedtest was tested at a server further away than the current one so it was better than what is shown in the image above (speedtest.net 150mi compared to 100mi now).
So I thought a line upgrade would give me a slight increase not looking for anything major here but slight difference, but maybe it's too early?
    Thanks,
    Robert

    Go to Solution.

I will post the stats when I'm home from work tonight.
I understand the capabilities of my line but I'm only looking for tiny marginal differences when going from 0.3 to 0.4 could make the world of difference in upload and the ongoing issue of why latency has significanly dropped.
If I had an exceptional connection for my line in Janaury 2014 last year as shown above and ADSL2 can't even best that then where is the issue lying?
People expect big increases but I'm only looking for bread crumbs and also it's difficult to adjust playing with such good latency to high ping now.
I was told I would be contacted on Saturday to see how the line was and hopefully some things will have adjusted by then but it still doesn't explain the ping. The exact same thing happened to me with sky after being with them a while and it took a lot of painful phone calls to finally get my latency down again, it was profile / settings etc.
Another thing which is racking my brain is at how much involvement DLM has on our lines, surely each DLM can be adjusted to not interfere with things like ADSL2 profiles and interleaving if BT have the customers consent? I would like to know that manually resetting my router isn't going to continually mess up my profile as resetting routers should be part of regular routine especially if you're a gamer?
Apologies for being picky here I'm just trying to get a full understanding. I forked out over £100.00 for a Netduma router in order to take advantage of the anti flood(prioritise my PC bandwidth over others in the household QoS) feature since my connection is terrible, turns out my upload speed is so poor that it starts to flood the games I play if it's enabled, so you can understand a little frustration.

  • ADSL2+ Exchange Upgraded Promised Line Upgrade Sti...

I've just been through over 2 months of problems with my BB and a couple of weeks back after 70+phone calls (no joke) and even a visit to the exchange to talk to the engineers my line speed seems to be better than it was, around 0.7 - 1.2  download speed varying throughout he day with a profile of 5.5mb. As part of the whole process I was advised that my exchange was being upgraded to ADSL2+ and I would be migrated in August. It seems the exchange has been upgraded by I am still showing on the old ADSL line. I was offered a large amount of compensation which I was very happy with due to all the issues but the migration has not happened and I really don't know what else to do.

Sure the IP profile is set at 5 - has been on 5.5 for a number of weeks so seems to have slightly dropped in the last day for some reason. I have been told all along that the problem was with throughput as the connection between my house and the exchange seemed fine but it was from the exchange onwards where the problem was. I think in the end they moved me to adifferent card in the exchange but again I was told so many things by so many different people it's difficult to keep track.
The following test was done this morning at an off peak time, if done during a peak time it is quite often around 1.3 Mbs
Download speedachieved during the test was - 4.29 Mbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 0.6 Mbps-7.15 Mbps.
    Additional Information:
    Your DSL Connection Rate :6.02 Mbps(DOWN-STREAM), 0.45 Mbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 5 Mbps
If ADSL2+ Max won't make any difference then I guess there's nothing more I can do I just don't understad why I was told it would all along. If I can't get a higher download speed then having a steady one during peak/offpeak would be nice to see rather thanan 70-80% drop on a regular basis.

  • Slow speed/high SNR margin after upgrade to ADSL2+...

I have an issue with slow speed that I am suspecting is caused by a high SNR margin (about 12dB) which has come about (I believe) due to the fact that my router was repeatedly reset during the first few days of the upgraded service. The exchange was upgraded to ADSL2+ on 3rd January.
I have a US Robotics 9108 which has worked fine for nearly six years. I was getting around 8Mbps before the upgrade which isn't far off the theoretical maximum.
There was a problem with my router and I only found it to be my router at fault over the last few days. Upgrading its firmware has cured the problem which was that requests weren't being fulfilled once connection had been established, (seemingly particularly when this was ADSL2+ or ADSL2 mode). Consequently, I reset my router in these instances and I believe that this will have been interpretted by the exchange as being due to line noise. In general, I disabled ADSL2 and 2+ modes on my router to force it back to G.DMT and it usually worked fine (albeit slow sync rate relative to that I had before 3rd January).
During fault conditions, the connection synced OK. I recently borrowed a router and tried it and it immediately connected faster than mine had done previously and I could access the web without issue. This confirmed that my US Robotics was at fault, and after downloading its latest firmware, it fixed the problem.
There is no bell wire as there are no hard wired extensions from the master socket. I use a single filter which plugs directly into the master socket (i.e. no extension lead to the filter).
I was using a BT filter (MF50) I got in 2004 when I first got broadband. This came with a Voyager 100 modem and is a rebranded YCL one. I have since replaced this with a Z350-UK which I have borrowed. The US Robotics didn't come with any filters.
With the BT filter, caller display does not work at all when the router is connected in ADSL2 mode. In G.DMT mode the problem with caller display was intermittent. The Z350-UK has rectified the problem with caller display not working when in ADSL2 mode. I have ordered a Pressac Interstitial VDSL Faceplate as a perminant solution.
Do I need to contact the support helpline to get this fixed? Or will the SNR margin drop over time? As I say, I got around 8Mbps before the upgrade.
I am presently connected in 2+ mode and stats are:
    SNR margin (dB):
    12.8
    5.4

  • My exchange has recently been upgraded to ADSL2 - ...

    Hello,
I signed up for BT Total Broadband just over a year ago and I was connected at 8,128 Kbps on ADSL Max because that was the best my exchange offered.  However, according to Sam Knows, my exchange has recently been upgraded to ADSL2.  I tried running the line speed test for my phone number on the BT Broadband signup page and it now estimates my line speed would be 19Mb.  I tried restarting my home hub but it just reconnected at 8,128 Kbps with G.992.1 Annex A.  Is there anything I need to do to get the faster speed? Or is it just a case of waiting and it will happen automatically at some point?
I'm quite happy with my connection but obviously the faster speed would be great
    Thanks for any help!
    John

Hi once an exchange goes live it can take from a few days to several months for all lines to be moved over to the new ADSL 2+ equipment you do not need to do anything apart from wait BT will send out an email when your line is due to be moved across

  • Upgraded to ADSL2 - what is ADSL2 DELT?

I signed up to ADSL2 and have read the forums about the 10 day training period. It was turned on sometime on the night of 28 December. I have been running a BTspeedtest daily in case any issues developed.
Day 1 was 30 December and the result looked promising
    1. Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
    Download Speed
    7153 Kbps
    0 Kbps
    7150 Kbps
    Max Achievable Speed
Download speed achieved during the test was - 7153 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 2000-7150 Kbps.
     Additional Information:
     Your DSL Connection Rate :17524 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 840 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7150 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 13.1:22.64:64.26 (SBE:NBEBE)
These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.
The results of this test will vary depending on the way your ISP has decided to use these traffic classes.
    2. Upstream Test: -provides background information.
    Upload Speed
    696 Kbps
    0 Kbps
    840 Kbps
    Max Achievable Speed
    >Upload speed achieved during the test was - 696 Kbps
     Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 840 Kbps
Given the downstream rate on day one I was expecting that the IP profile would catch up.
However on 31 December the result was as follows:-
    Test1 comprises of two tests
    1. Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
    Download Speed
    6427 Kbps
    0 Kbps
    21000 Kbps
    Max Achievable Speed
Download speed achieved during the test was - 6427 Kbps
For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 4000-21000 Kbps.
     Additional Information:
     Your DSL Connection Rate :6656 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 880 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 15000 Kbps
The throughput of Best Efforts (BE) classes achieved during the test is - 10.18:31.77:58.05 (SBE:NBEBE)
These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.
The results of this test will vary depending on the way your ISP has decided to use these traffic classes.
    2. Upstream Test: -provides background information.
    Upload Speed
    709 Kbps
    0 Kbps
    880 Kbps
    Max Achievable Speed
    >Upload speed achieved during the test was - 709 Kbps
     Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 880 Kbps
The downstream has held at 6656 kbs since as has the IP profile at 15000 kbs which to me seems odd. I would have expected the IP profile to have to catch up with the download speed.
I have a Zyxel P660 HW-T1 v2 router and have today noticed that it is in ADSL2 DELT mode. I don't know how long it has been in this mode. After a bit of googling led me to conclude a possible issue with the router due to this http://www.aaisp.net.uk/kb-broadband-zyxelp660hwt1v2.html . I have therefore tried the telnet change suggested and rebooted my router (I know this may mean having to restart at day 1 again, but given that things had settled down I felt that nothing ventured nothing gained). The router is still showing that it is in ADSL2 DELT at the rate of 6656kbs and I am therefore wandering what it is and whether something at the BT end of the operation is causing this.
Whilst posting I would welcome some comments on my noise margin seeing as my router is plugged into an extension via an ethernet cable - it is fairly impracticle to plug it into the master socket as I would have to run wirelessly which I know I could do but some speed loss is inevitable doing it this way.
    Margins are:-
    noise margin upstream: 8 db
    output power downstream: 13 db
    attenuation upstream: 11 db
    noise margin downstream: 19 db
    output power upstream: 11 db
    attenuation downstream: 18 db
This 10 day training period is a real pain but I am happy to perservere with it as I feel that given the IP profiles I am acheiving I will end up with a speed that will be the envy of most - I would just like to get to the bottom of the ADSL2 DELT issue as I feel that a cap of 6656 kbs that it appears to be causing is not going to assist the overall training on the line.
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

I would rather leave it until the 10 period is up before I start testing my router on the master socket. The reason is because the master socket is in the lounge and the router has several bright green lights that irritate my partner. It would also mean I would have to run my PC wirelessly which creates its own set of problems whenever I use my laptop.
If after the 10 days are up there has been no improvement then I will have to consider moving my router or see how much it would cost to get cat 5 cable to replace the phone line to the extension socket - that would eliminate the need to use the router in the master socket. Obviously either course would need a further 10 days to prove that it is either a router setting or something at BT's end.
As you have confirmed the second test and one I did yesterday which is below showed IP profiles inconsistant with 6656 speeds suggest that something is not quite right somewhere.
    1. Best Effort Test: -provides background information.
    Download Speed
    5198 Kbps

These figures represent the ratio while sententiously passing Sub BE, Normal BE and Priority BE marked traffic.
The results of this test will vary depending on the way your ISP has decided to use these traffic classes.
    2. Upstream Test: -provides background information.

    Max Achievable Speed
    >Upload speed achieved during the test was - 732 Kbps
     Additional Information:
Upstream Rate IP profile on your line is - 880 Kbps
The Router shows System up time - thats all. It stays on 24/7 even if something has gone wrong at the BT exchange - happened once - the only way the counter can be reset is if you reboot it. As I have advised it was not rebooted until today and I have not seen any explanation for the strange IP profiles when compared with the speed.
These speed tests indicate that something was not quite right before today's reboot of the router - I will continue to monitor daily and review where things are in 10 days time unless anything else strange happens - I am not that concerned if I have a bit of noise on my extension - if my line accepts say 17.5mb but internal wiring strangles it to 10mb that will be still acceptable as I will know that there is something I can do about it. I had some difficulties when I upgraded to ADSL2 but removing the bell wire sorted that one and I was on a steady 7500 IP profile and receiving around 5-6MB speeds through the extension.
It just peeves me that you have to wait 10 days when the evidence is there that something is not quite right. It's like baking bread, if you can't see it rising in the oven you know that the end result is no going to be any good and I think the same applies in this case - if both IP profile and speeds were low then I could accept the wait, but not when the IP profile was there(and hopefully will return over the next couple of days).

I got an email on 18/04/2011 from '[email protected]' saying:
'Good news. We’re rolling out our faster broadband and we’ll be upgrading our network in your area on 21-Apr-11. This’ll make the things you do online quicker.
This happened and since then my broadband speed has decreased from being a constant 8128Kbps down and 448Kbps down to varying from 6Mbps to 8064Kbps and LOTS of retraining.  Any realtime applications like Skype or BT Broadband Voice are just unusable due to the constant retraining.
I have been on this line since 01/10/2010 and it has always been 8128Kbps down and 448Kbps up and never deviated until the 'upgrade' on 21/04/2011.
I use a Cisco 877 router with IOS 15.1(2)T2 and have tried various ADSL firmware (4.0.17, 4.0.18, 4.0.195, 4.0.209 & 4.0.210) all have given the same behaviour.  I have now reverted back to the 4.0.17 firmware as this supposedly has fixes for UK ADSL2+:
ADSL firmware version 4.0.17 for UK annex M support only. Compatible with Huawei MA5300 DSLAM, EADB line card
I have spoken to BT and they say this is normal for the 10-day stabilsation period following the upgrade.  I was hoping following the upgrade that ADSL2+ would be enabled and due to the maximum 8128Kbps I was getting prior to the upgrade I would get a faster connection.  So far its been bad news.
I am likely to get ADSL2+ and will it stabilise at some point?

  • Is it true ones been upgraded to ADSL2 it's not po...

    Hi
The problem is some months ago I got BT to upgrade my broadband from ADSL MAX to ADSL2 not ADSL2+ thinking I might get better
speeds on my line but in the end all I got from ADSL2 is a hole **bleep** load of problems and no speed increase on download but
just a slight increase in upload speed.
When I was on ADSL MAX I was able to maintain a connection speed of 2.5MB and 3MB maxumum speed but ever since upgrading to
ADSL2 i`m barely even getting 2MB stable because of the **bleep** banding that you get with ADSL2.
During the time I upgraded my broadband to ADSL2, my line had around a 57 db line Line attenuation and
    after the upgrade and
when I saw I was getting nothing but problems, BT tried changing my E pare from the green cabinets down to the exchange
thinking this could be causing me the problems which it wasn`t but did gave me a extra 1MB out of my connection giving me a
4MB capable line from the 3 MB maximum I use to have but even then I still can`t even get 2MB on ADSL2.
My line use to only have a sync rate of around 3700Kbps but now has a Line attenuation of 50-51 db with a maximum sync rate of
4800Kbps because of the E pair change.
I have told BT that my line stableness has gotten worse since moving to ADSL2 and if it is possible that could downgrade my
broadband back to ADSL MAX but according to them, ones i`m on ADSL2, it's just not possible to be switched back to ADSL MAX again.
I was wondering if this is correct or are they polling a fast one? and is there anything I can do to get them to downgrade me back
    to ADSL MAX?
    Thanks for responding.

I forgot to say in my original post that I have been experiencing quite frequent dropouts since the start of this year even when I was on ADSL MAX but I was still able to maintain at least 2.5 MB speeds but it seems I think the main problem is ADSL2 doesn`t like frequent dropouts at all and i've noticed even one bad dropout on ADSL2 is enough to kicking the banding system to drop my speed margins drastically.
As i`m receiving frequent dropouts, my connection is not staying connected long enough for the DLM banding on my line to further reduce to give me back more of my line speed.
At least on ADSL MAX it gave you 10 dropouts within one hour before I would lose speed.
There is a outgoing case between me and BT and my dropout problems now since some months but BT just can`t seem to find where the problem is and I think BT has now had enough and just keep fobbing me off saying the speed ADSL2 is giving me is the maximum supported speed i`ll get from my line which is a load of **bleep** as my line connects no problems at 4MB with a 6db noise margin though because of the stupid banding on ADSL2 and my frequent dropouts, my speed just goes way down to nothing.

    Hi,
Please could I arrange to upgrade to ADSL2 / 2+? I don't envisage faster download speeds than at present, though that would be nice, but am very keen for the increase in upload speed that this would allow. The relevant data for my line are given below (the SNR seems to vary somewhere between 4.2 and 7). The connection has been stable for the last 6 months with very little speed differences

  • Pre ordering iphone with other lines upgrade

How would I go about pre ordering the iPhone 4s using another lines upgrade on my plan? Would I be forced to activate in store when the phone arrives?
Basically what I mean, is if I pre-order at Apple.com (there is a form you fill out which takes you to a pricing page depending on if you have an upgrade or not) how would I go about activating the phone on MY NUMBER while using another numbers upgrade? This will be the first time I have pre-ordered a phone (or had one delievered for that matter) so I have no idea how to activate it..

You just purchase the phone on the line that is eligible for an upgrade (thus, using their upgrade and extending THEIR line's contract another 2 years) and when you receive your phone, you will activate it on THEIR line first (this is a very important step) then, you can reactivate their phone on their line, and activate the new iPhone 4S on your line. And you'll be good to go.
Just keep in mind that it will extend the other line's contract, not yours, and you have to activate it on that line first.
This isn't what I was told.  I was told to just place the order using the eligible line (my wife's) and when the phone arrives to just activate it using my phone number.
If you do this, you will be charged the full price of the phone. Activating it on the line it was purchased on first accepts the terms of service you sign when you upgrade. If you don't do so, you are charged the full retail price of the phone, because you technically did not accept what you signed

  • Line "upgraded" but speed is the same

Last week when seeing if we could get Infinity, the BT Broadband checker said we could have a '12 - 18mb Line' which was a decent upgrade on our 4.8mb speed.
This was a new thing - having tested the same page a week earlier we got that message 'BT Infinity is currently available to you'.  This time we got the new message, together with a lovely image of the Home Hub 5...
So I ordered it and the BT Engineer came out.  He put a new Master Socket in.  He went out to do work on the cabinet (two cabinets actually, he said), and came back.  he tested the line...
    4.8mb.
    "Great" he said, job done.
"Hang on" I said, "That's what we were getting before - exactly that, in fact. This is supposed to be a line upgrade - we were promised up to 18mb..."
But no, he said that's it - that's all we get.
So... why did we get a line upgrade then?  What was the point of that!?  Is it possible there was a step he missed, to get the line up to 20mb?  Or perhaps it takes a few days to max out?
Possibly the profile needs upping / resetting?
    Can anyone please advise?

  • Exchange and Account Upgraded to ADSL2+ - Stuck at...

Okay, so toward the end of July my exchange was upgraded to ADSL2+.  I requested my account be upgraded which I am assured has been done, along with the associated profile change, with an estimated speed of 17Mb.
However, my Draytek Vigor 120 ADSL2+ modem is still syncing at 8128.
I have tried manually setting the connection to:
    VPI: 0
    VCI: 38
    Enscap: VC Mux
    Protocol: PPPoA
    Modulation: ADSL2+(G.992.5)
When I do this, the modem just sits at 'hand shaking' but if I set modulation to multimode then it connects at 8128.
I have tried switching to the master socket and tried a different modem/router, but the sync never changes.  I don't have a home hub as I have always had my own equipment.
I am awaiting an engineer visit on Saturday, but I thought I'd check here first, in case there is anything else I can try, especially since there is the usual; BT's fault it's free, my fault £99.
Any thoughts would be gratefully received, thanks in advance.

  • Slow down after my line was upgraded to ADSL2+

    Hi there
a couple months ago BT upgraded our line from ADSL 1 to ADSL2+ now it all sounds good but I have experienced some major slow downs since they have done it and constant calls to CS have just resulted in my line getting tested and then having a different person phone back to give the results but just end up getting another line test done and it is starting to get very annoying.
Before the upgrade I was downloading at around 8.1Mb/s, uploading at 1.1Mb/s and had a ping of around 15. Now it is this.
Is there anything else i could do that could improve my speed?
Thanks for reading my wall of text.

  • Re: Exchange upgraded to ADSL2+ months ago but lin...

Having asked BT to transfer our line onto ADSL2, I was told that this could be done but it would mean starting a new 24 month contract.
I then discovered that I had started a new contract in September last year.
I rang BT in September last year to see if our broadband and telephone accounts could be combined so we only had one account to deal with.
It transpired that as a result of this I 'agreed' to a new 24 month contract.
The initial agent I spoke to said she couldn't combine the accounts but would transfer me to someone who could
It transpires she was a member of the sales team.
Today,  I asked for a copy of the telephone conversation I had with her last year, which she duly sent.
Having listened to this, I thought, as I did at the time, that she was confirming our existing contract details, when in fact what she was doing was starting a new contract.
When I asked about combining the accounts she said she couldn't do that but gave me a telephone number to ring. At that point I gave up, having already spent too much time trying to do what I thought was a simple thing.
I'm ashamed to say that when a confirmation email arrives a few days later, I didn't read it properly and did not realise It was confirming a new 24 month contract. I have since re-read it and that is exactly what it was doing.
I asked the agent to also send me a copy of the original telephone call prior to being transferred. Not surprisingly, the answer was that they only record calls which confirm contract details!!
We currently pay BT approximately £50 per month for business broadband and telephone. Our ISP who supplies our domestic broadband has offered a much more comprehensive service and higher speed at half that price and only a 12 month contract.
    The package includes:
Unlimited Broadband with a maximum speed of 22.56         Unlimited Landline calls 24/7 including 01, 02, 03, 0845, 0870 numbers         Unlimited Mobile calls 24/7 to any network.         4 Static IP addresses         Business call features including call waiting, caller             display, call divert         Free premises moves (2x per year)         Free High-spec router         12 Month Contract
This whole episode has left a really bad taste in my mouth. I have already cancelled our domestic account with BT and as soon as it is viable to do so, I will cancel both our broadband and telephone  for our business.
The moral of the story is pay attention if you are talking to any of the BT sales people and scrutinise ANY emails you receive from them.

Correct, and being a business person yourself you should be more savvy/aware of all the points you have made than many Domestic/home subscribers.
Pay attention and check all details and T&C whichever company you are with.

  • Is my line live for ADSL2+ \ 'up to' 20mb?

    I guess only a moderator could look into this one for me so I've pinged you an email (with all my details etc.) but I'll state my question here in any case so there is something to refer back to etc;
My exchange shows at the BT ADSL availability site as having been activated for ADSL2+ but I have also read that I may need my individual line changed to receive the service.
I am an option3 customer and my contract is about to be renewed on the 6th April this year. Previously when asking whether the 20mbps upgrade would be automatic I have been told conflicting answers, one person telling me that my line is already activated for ADSL2+, and another telling me that changes need to be made in the exchange to facilitate it.
I've tried my modem connecting exclusively with ADSL2+ which does sync but then doesn't allow browsing and so that it what makes me think either something is wrong in the exchange setup.
My IP profile is currently at 4000kbps but for well over a week my modem has been reporting that it should be capable of a move to 4500kbps but the IP profile hasn't increased. My router\modem reports next to no errors with the data downstream and so the DSLAM can't possibly be keeping my IP profile speed down because of faults. Also my router\modem reports that at it's current configuration the line should be able to handle
Has by line been capped somehow (and I don't mean by the FUP as I know all about that)?
I used to get 4.5 constantly and have had near 6 in the past yet the BT ADSL availability site states that my line would only achieve 5 with ADSL2+. I know the site is a bit conservative with it's estimates but only a 1mb increase?
Anyhow, my primary question is the one related to how my line is configured (ADSL 1\2\2+) and so if you could answer that question at least it would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Below is a copy of my current stats in case they are needed;
