LinearGradient doesn't appear in JavaFX mobile application
Hi everyone.
I'm developing a JavaFX mobile application. The scenes will have a Gradient of black and green background color.
Here is the code.
var scene1 : Scene = Scene{
fill: LinearGradient {
startX: 0.0, startY: 0.0, endX: 0.0, endY: 1.0
proportional: true
stops: [ Stop { offset: 0.0 color: Color.BLACK },
Stop { offset: 1.0 color: Color.GREEN } ]
contentAccording to JavaFX API, LinearGradient is found in common profile. Which means I should be able to use it in my mobile application. But when deploying it into an actual mobile phone, the scene's background is plain white.
Why doesn't it take effect??
When running the application into a mobile emulator, it is just fine.

I think there was a bug in LinearGradient + proportional. Is it using latest JavaFX runtime on phone?
Just to confirm this, can you specify absolute coordinates (with proportional: false) for LinearGradient?
I faced this issue long time back while implementing background of InterestingPhotos, but now it works fine.

How to install/deploy JavaFx Mobile application on real mobile devices.
Hi,
I had gone through the internet and various links but i'm unable to find the solution regarding how to deploy the application made with JavaFx mobile on real mobile devices. There was some link in which it was written you can install the application in Nokia 40 5edition phone, i tried to install in Nokia 6600 Slider through bluetooth; so while installing the application it shows an error as "Invalid Application".
I'm also facing same problem which others are also facing as Application is not compatible when i tried to install in Nokia N95.
So, if anybody knows the method/technique to deploy the application in real mobile devices i'll be grateful to him.
Thanks
GauravThanks Michael for the reply. I also tried to install one simple application made with JavaFx Mobile in Sony-Ericsson JP-8 platform(K850i, W910i). While installing the application it pop-up the error "Operation Failed".
So, is there any way to install the application in current available mobile devices in the market or not??
@ Sun People please help me in this.
Thanks

Image Doesn't Appear in Lightroom Mobile
I have one image that makes it from LR to the lightroom.adobe.com website, but it never gets to my iOS devices: 2014 Book. I also note that the image on the website is blurry, as though the JPEG conversion never completed. I've tried to remove/re-add this image many times, but it never syncs. Any suggestions why this might be the case? Is there a way to report this to Adobe as a bug? It's entirely reproduceable. ...doug
Hi Doug, when I look at the image renditions at the back-end I see that there is something missing. Could you send me a private message with a downloadable dropbox link to the original photo so that I can try to reproduce?
Btw. Does it help when you add the image to a new collection?

Now I think it has to be someting wrong in your code.
Can you try someting that should work?
Compile and run the following code:
javac testPanel.java
java testPanel
import javax.swing.*;
import java.awt.*;
public class testPanel extends Thread{

Mavericks doesn't appear in application folder, how can I get it there?
Mavericks doesn't appear in application folder, how can I get it there?
It is downloaded. I can see it in Launchpad, when I click on it will open en start the installation, but that's not what I want, I want to have the program in the application folder. I hope someone knows how?Click the installer in Launchbar so it opens, don't proceed with the installation!
Look in your Dock for the installers Application icon.
Command+Click this icon in the Dock
A Finder window should appear with the installer selected, you can 'Get Info' on that item to see the full file path to work out where it is, or enable the 'Path bar' in Finder's view menu, that also shows the folder path to the selected item.
If you are hoping to install 10.9 on another Mac you may find it is best to create a bootable installer on a USB disk…

Or use Apple's instructions…

When I now use the cmd-tab shortcut to go to a different open application it madly scrolls through all the open applications and does not let me select one. Any ideas as to what might be wrong. It doesn't appear to be a sticking key?
Problem with the cmd-tab keyboard shortcut now cured with the latest software update, so the original problem must have been a software glitch.

5.5 Mobile Applications Android emulator Doesn't seem to want to work!
Using Dreamweaver 5.5 and the new Mobile Applications I'm successfully set up the Android SDK (which was a right pain in the backside) - so now I can build the HTML5 structure and the 'PhoneGap' tools are there, my problem comes when exporting the application for build and testing.
When I start the build and emulate it pops up with a message stating 'unable to open in the emulator and to look in the build log for details'. So I do thia and find the following:
DERROR: Cannot copy phonegap files. Terminating.java.io.FileNotFoundException: (path to app here - removed for NDA reasons)\DefaultActivity.java (The system cannot find the path specified)
ERROR: Clone failed
and
Waiting for Android emulator to bootERROR: failed to launch Android emulator
No I've also tried to lauch the Android emulators via the Virtual device manager but it comes back with this error:
PANIC: Could not open: C:\Users\c554\.android/avd/AP4.ini
Now to me it looks like it;s trying to reference the emulator with the wrong path - but I'm not sure on how to go about finding or even changing this.....
So can anyone point me in the right direction so that I can get my applications fully running in Dreamweaver 5.5?
ThanksStep1: You can run emulator android apps. it well error
Step2: You keep you keep running the emulator, then again you debug
I also encountered this error and now understand that to debug.
wish you success -
How do I clean up iTunes Mobile Applications folder that has old versions of apps?
I am using the latest iTunes 11.0.3 on my recently new iMac. Previously I had iTunes on my MacPro. The media folder was located on one of the extra (non-boot) volumes on the MacPro (MP). When I got my iMac I changed (in the Advanced section of Preferences) the location of the media folder to point to the same folder on the MP volume as I had been using. Everything seems to work fine. I can plug in my iPhone 4s and sync which goes thru a backup step.
I was then poking around in the iTunes media folder on the MP and found that the Mobile Applications (MA) folder was full of older versions of the apps on my iPhone. They dated back to 2009, 2010 and most were 2011. A few were 2012 or 2013. I would like to get rid of the old versions as they take up space. Being that old I doubt they are useful for anything anyway. But my question is how?
I have read and searched for other threads on this topic and have not found a solution. It appears that iTunes is supposed to toss old versions into the trash. I suspect it is doing that now but for some reason has lost track of these older version. The problem here is I don't know what happened.
My inclination is to take all these app .ipa files and dump them... then do an iPhone sync and have it repopulate this MA folder. But I wasn't sure iTunes would do that. So I selected one app that is currently installed on my iPhone, found several older .ipa files in the MA folder that correspond to that app and deleted all of them. I then sync'd my iPhone and watched it go thru the Backup step. When it was done I checked my MA folder but it still had NO .ipa file for that app. Why is that? To make sure the backup step didn't place it someone unexpected, I did a system wide search for that app name (the core part of the name, not including any version numbers, etc) but it found only one match. It was old (2011) located on an all-together different MA folder so did not come from this iPhone sync.
I wish someone would clearly document what goes on during an iPhone sync when the backup location is iTunes (not iCloud). Does iTunes store the current version of each app in the MA folder? I didn't see that happen in my example above.
What does it mean to remove all .ipa files from your MA folder? It would seem that it doesn't matter EXCEPT for apps no longer available in the App Store. Otherwise I could re-install them, right?
What can I delete safely without ill consequences?
How can i indentify what to remove if I should keep the latest version around?
Help would be appreciated.
To be clear:
* I use iTunes to store my Backups, not iCloud.
* I have used Consolidate after making sure that Keep iTunes Media Folder Organizaed is checked and Copy File to iTunes Media folder is checked. It did not help here.
* Given the dates of the .ipa files in my MA folder, this problem pre-dated my recent addition of my iMac.
* I believe I'm using a new local (to my iMac) iTunes library file but my media folder is on the MP as described above. When I access iTunes app on my MP it too accesses the same media folder. It is used primarily for adding music and movies to, not iPhone apps as I now sync on the iMac.ITunes has been a disaster for me. It is filled with all sorts of things and there is no way to reorganize any of it. I'm forced to use iTunes because I have an iPhone but the experience has convinced me that it is best to avoid Apple products and I would recommend that course for others.
The operative word here is "avoid." For products like the iPhone and iPad for which Apple has a superior product there is no choice. The problem is Apple control. That means that everything is compatible with everything else which is good. It also means that everything is limited to products that serve Apple's bottom line, which is questionable.
Hopefully, now that Apple's creative genius has sadly left us, other companies will step forward to create products that will allow us to avoid the complications of Apple. I have found iTunes to be the principal complication. iTunes regularly updates itself, practically every Sunday, and then I have to restart my computer which interrupts all the tasks that I have underway.
Despite all these updates I don't use iTunes except for the iPhone and even that is problematic. The entire experience makes me glad that I don't have an Apple since it must be very difficult for Apple users to work with Apple constantly demanding updates and restarts and proprietary software and the like.
If you're not an Apple customer, but you've been listening their hype with their execs pacing a stage clad in jeans, then read this and heed. My experience with iTunes is a warning for all. Watch out. Apple is not your friend. It's a corporation bent on control, monopoly power and coerced profiteering. We may all soon need nets to save us when Apple drives us out the window. -

First thing to try is to reset your device. Press and hold the Home and Sleep buttons simultaneously ignoring the red slider should one appear until the Apple logo appears. Let go of the buttons and let the device restart. See if that fixes your problem.
If that doesn't help Make an appointment at an Apple Store to have your device examined by a technician. Or contact Apple Support. -

Here is a primitive (crude!), naive native button, as an example of such effect. I wanted to make it look like it was physically pressed.

JavaFX mobile (Android/iOS) update?
Hi all,
as I am quite desperately eager to start JavaFX mobile development,
I would like to ask, if somebody has any update on recent status and progress, if any.
I have found quite a lot of news titles like 'JavaFX for iOS/Android soon!' at the beginning of the year, but not any other update since.
According to Javaone 2013 Session Updates
there should have been some very interesting presentations at JavaOne 2013 last week:
JavaFX on Android: First Insight [BOF7791]
Build and Debug Your JavaFX Application for the iPad [BOF5517]
JDK 8 for Oracle ADF Mobile on iOS and Android Devices [CON3783]
Can anybody point me to some recent information?
Thank youjsmith wrote:
I am unaware of anybody submitting a commerical iOS app based on JavaFX to the Apple app store.
I don't think it's JavaFX, but BadLogic Games has a RoboVM based demo game on the Apple app store. I tried it on an iPad 2 and was very surprised at how responsive it was. I was expecting noticeable input lag, but there isn't any.

I know the politics of getting JavaFX on iOS, Android, and WinRT are complicated, but I'm still hoping Oracle changes their mind. The idea of Microsoft, Google, and Apple controlling the mobile platforms top to bottom doesn't strike me as something that's going to be good for anyone (else). I'm rather amazed at the faith everyone is putting the idea that Microsoft, Google, and Apple won't leverage IE, Chrome, and Safari to give their SaaS initiatives the advantage.
I'd rather hedge my bets with the JVM and Linux than trust 3 companies who have been making obvious moves to close up and control the computing industry. Honestly, look at the setup. They all have hardware branches now and they already control the OSs, the native runtimes, the browsers, and the primary distribution channels for their respective platforms. Oracle should be worried about getting anything on those platforms 5 years from now.
IMO, they should be pushing ADF and JavaFX on mobile, not trying to choose one or the other.

Got the new battery from the exchange program and.....
It doesn't seem to be any better than the "defective" battery that it was to replace. I mean, I can sit here and watch the indicator literally inch it's way down. Did I forget to rub the magic pixie dust onto the battery before I installed it? What's

Lightroom 1:1 Previews not automatic...
I am just figuring out that Lightroom doesn't automatically generate 1:1 previews for all of your images when you first import them, nor at any point in the future, unless you specifically choose the Library>Preview>Render 1:1 Previews menu selection
