"linearize workspace" not retained by media encoder?

hi all
I am experimenting with linear workflow, exporting some 16 and 32 bit files from my 3D app, and compositing in After Effects.
When I opened media encoder, and dragged my file in as usual, I immediately noticed the preview footage was darker, and it looks like it isn't accepting the "linearize workspace" setting that I enabled in AE options
is there a step that I need to take before going to media encoder to "bake" this setting in?
very new to linear workspace, 16/32 bit files---appreciate your help

Could be a limitation. Use a Color Profile converter/ Exposure effect on the layer in the comp instead.

Prem Pro will not open Adobe Media Encoder

When I go to Export and chose Media the input screen comes up. After selecting the desired settings and pressing Que, the program reverts back to Prem Pro. In other words it will not open Adobe Media Encoder. Can any one help me with this?

Can you launch Media Encoder from the Programs menu by itself? From Premiere, in AME window, does it work if you select "Export" rather than "Queue"?

Mac OS 10.7 and Premiere Pro CS5 not reading AVI and DV files, not rendering to Media Encoder

Hi Folks,
I've been wrestling with these problems since I bought my Macbook Pro running Lion (currently v10.7.3). I've had video editing and DVD authoring workflows that have worked perfectly for both CS3 and CS4 with Premiere Pro and Encore. I used to be able to import DV and AVI files and render timelines to Adobe Media Encoder so I can make DVD projects in Encore but it seems there are a lot of broken bits and pieces either with 10.7 or with CS5 or both. I've tired creating new projects or re-editing CS4 Premiere Pro projects that I can still edit with CS4 on my old Macbook Pro with 10.6.8. In fact I've given up on CS5 and I've gone back to my old laptop to edit. My problems with CS5/5.5 are:
1     Can't import DV files - error message saying this is an unsupported format
2     Can't import AVI files - error message saying this is an unsupported format
3     When I export media and try to use Adobe Media Encoder (AME) the render queue doesn't respond to the files being sent from Premiere Pro (PPro). I have to render the files one at a time from within PPro. I have no idea where the queued files go but even if I have AME open it doesn't respond. In CS4 AME would open automatically and wait until I told it to render the files.
4     In Encore I've had trouble burning to DVD. I have to make an ISO file and then burn that using Toast. I'n not particularly fussed about this but while I'm unloading I may as well give you the full picture.
Basically I'm really hating this vcersion of CS5/Mac OS. Lion is like using Vista from what I can tell. On my PCs I went from XP to Windows 7 so I kinda avoided all that pain it it seems the computer gods are smiting good and proper now. I don't care whose fault it is I want Apple and Adobe to fix it or if some kind soul can share their experiences and hopefully how they fixed it I'd be eternally grateful until the next upgrade totally blindsides us all.

Sorry for your troubles.
Pr 5.5.2 is still a bit persnickety for me on 10.6.8, but overall, it's still faster than FCP7 and MC6, and overall pretty dependable. Imports and plays AVI files just fine.
Lion still isn't ready for prime time, from what I've seen. Like all Mac OS releases, it probably won't be until 10.7.6 or so. And that may never happen, becuase 10.8 is purported to be just around the corner.
So, my advice is, if possible, go back to what works, 10.6.8.

Problem with plugins not rendering from Media Encoder CC 2014

Hi, I am exporting a video made in AE CC 2014 with several plugins, into Media Encoder CC 2014. When I try to render the video in Media Encorder at H.264, at 720PX in an MP4. The video renders but does not show any of the plugins that I had used. Any advice?

These are the plugin that I am using:
“Element, ft-Lens Distortion, FL Out of Focus, Sure Target and Particular.”

Premiere Pro not understood by Media Encoder properly

When I am in premiere pro I have a PSD layered file that is animated on the time line as a lower third. Everything in the timeline is fine. If I export and encode from premiere pro it encodes fine. However, if I send to queue and encode in adobe media encoder it encodes changing the scale of the psd layers from the image back to the original position of the psd. This seems like the encoder does not understand the latest update in Premiere properly. Anyone have any ideas or a way to resolve this on this end? (Below are two images one is showing the lower third PSD from within premeire, the other is showing what the media encoder is doing to the PSD lower third)

I had a similar issue only when using 3rd party plugin (Creative Impatience) that would go all catywhumpus on Encoder Queue outputs...it would mess with certain images or text that were not necessarily matching the project proportions (e.g. crop them, or ignore 1/2 of my Feathered Crop, etc.)
The solution was bizarre, and likely source-code default setting based...
After going to Media-->Export and when in the Encoder interface--before Queueing-- find a section on your timline with the scroll controls where the graphic is, make sure you are in Source Tab (top left), goto Crop Proportions; Use the drop down tab to actually set the Output dimension to what your sequence is (you won't have to actually export with this setting) and then switch to the Output tab. Does it now appear correct? That's it...undo the Crop Prop. and output normally. Hope this helps...

FX5600VTDR "not supported" in Media Encoder 9

Hi all,
I have an MSI FX5600VTDR128 graphics card, and am trying to stream video from the s-video input onto my LAN using Windows Media Encoder 9.
The problem is that I don't get any picture in the Encoder preview window, just a message saying "not supported". The "start broadcasting" button works, but it just broadcasts a blank screen, the same as shown on the preview window.
I have set the assorted settings correctly, as far as I can tell, and tried all the options I can think of. Nothing works.
The video is getting in to the PC, as I can make a movie in Windows Movie Maker" with no problems.
According to MS's help, Media Encoder is compatible with capture devices that use WDM drivers (which I have installed from nVidia's download site).
Any help???

Important Note: Some supported video files may not be playable because the codec used to create the video is not supported. Supported Video Codecs in AVI/MP4 files: mjpg, m4s2, xvid, divx, wmv, mpg, flv1 vp6f, h264, and mp42.
so it appears that h264 is indeed supported. Still not sure what is going on.
Are you trying to play the ripped H.264 on the STB using Media Manager? Or on the PC? If it's the former, than you are out of luck. The STB only suppots AVI, WMV, FLV, 3GP/3G2, MPG (non-MPEG2 videos), and MP4/M4V (non-H.264 videos). See this page link.

Why will After Effects not export to Media Encoder?

After Effects cannot export to Media Encoder. I've tried to queue it within After Effects (nothing happens,) I've tried to import it from within Media Encoder (it hangs on a loading dialogue forever,) and I've tried restarting my computer. All to no avail. I've also tried multiple AE projects. And yes, I've made sure I am viewing the queue in Media Encoder. Any clues?

Workspace not retaining presets

I'm running Premiere 5.5 and recently it has stopped holding onto my Workspace settings. I had set up a custom Workspace on my second monitor and used it for weeks. Now all the items in the worplace are centered in my second monitor when I open Premiere I've also noticed that the loading screen purple "box" and loadout information are now seperated.
I can take theWorkspace back to the custom preset by going into the Workspace menu tab and selecting "Reset Current Workspace" But I've never had to do that before.
Any ideas? Is there a preference file that may be damaged? I do remember shocking myself on the computer case a while back on a particularly cold, dry day, but can't recall if this started after that.
Any help would be appreciated.

The first thing that I would do is check the version/date of your video driver, and if it is not the latest from nVidia, or ATI/AMD, I would update and test.
The description of the problem does not strike me as being a video driver, but that will get it out of the way early.

Dynamic link not working for Media Encoder

When I put one or more timelines in que from PP CS6 for export and then start the cue all I get is a message saying it is opening dynamic link but it just stays at that point and does not actually start the export process. What can cause this? Thanks for your help.

Use the uninstall scripts from Adobe to completely remove all vestiges of PPro from your computer. Then perform the installation.

CS4 MEDIA ENCODER (not responding) please help...

I'm working with a PC VISTA home premiere 4gb ram, Nvidia gt 220 GPU, dual core, and CS4 MASTER SUITE.
Used PREMIERE PRO CS4 to capture NTSC dv widescreen footage (from DVX100B)
Used CS4 AFTER EFFECTS for GRAIN & TITLE GRAPHICS and rendered each clip as a QUICKTIME (newest version) .MOV animated file.
SAVED RENDERED CLIPS TO a 1TB external hard drive...connected to pc via usb...not esata yet...
IMPORTED RENDERED .MOV files into PREMIERE PRO and EDITED together a nice SEQUENCE just over 3min in length.
EXPORTED TO MEDIA (used serval different export settings with the same result) SEQUENCE FILE PULLS UP IN ENCODER and I click START QUE
and it trys to load then (not responding) freezing MEDIA ENCODER where I have to reboot...due the task manager wont shut it down.
Everything I have tried (Current Updates Installed, Video Card drivers updated, Re installed Premiere Pro, quicktime update, ENCODER update) is not working.
1) Are my .MOV files to large? ( what is a good size for a .mov) they range from 60-500MB
2)I read some forums about debugging and corrupt .dll files (please advise if the makes sense)
3) How do I run a clean script...will that help?
4) I HAVE A BUNCH of audio files .wav and aaf files...in the squence are they loading it down?

Alirght my ENCODER IS NOT WORKING...a week later...I have compressed my HUGE 50-650mb clips to tiny FLV files...MY CS4 ENCODER cant encode more than 2 clips on the CS4 PPR sEquence...just says status: waiting then I hit >start queue and it freezes >not responding
every once and a while it will unfreeze (2% of the time actually) and encoding a file...

Adobe Media Encoder CC 7.2.0.43 still crashes after beginning of encoding - bugs for months now!

Adobe Media Encoder CC 7.2.0.43 is still crashing after beginning of encoding! In my case this bug exists for months now and Adobe is not able to get rid of its own programming faults! The user pays a lot of money for the license and doesn't get a functioning software! I spent days to get a solution now, but NOTHING of your suggested help works!
This is my 'support' history beginning in AUGUST (!):

- Tried to render the sequences also without audio.
- Tried to render as one pass.

- Also if I clean all preferences and caches before, EVERY file type crashes, no matter if I try to export a video or a still picture.
- This is not happening in Adobe AME CS6 with the same files, but in CC!! CS6 still renders reliably with preview, but CC crashes without being able to show any preview.
- Held the Shift key down while starting AME. This should reset preferences and so on...
- Deleted suggested "7.0" directories as described in other forum posts concerning this topic.
- Logged out of my CC account.
- Deinstalled and reinstalled PPro, After Effects, InDesign, Flash, using Adobe Creative Cloud Cleaner Tool. All is the newest version 7.2.
- Set GPU renderer to "Software Only". Some video cards have issues when GPU is set to "OpenCL" or "CUDA".
- Checked updates available for video driver. Latest is installed.
- Turned off "Enable Native Premiere Pro sequence import" in AME prefs.
- AMEEncodingErrorLog.txt doesn't have any content, not a single line.
NOTHING WORKED OR HELPED!

Doesn't always do it, but now I've found an instance where it's reliably repeatable. As I scrub through a certain part of the footage, it crashes. Or it crashes at the same point during rendering.
I've succesfully edited and rendered clips made from the same cameras, recorder (Tricaster 410) - even from the same actual media file. I've tried updating QuickTime, uninstalling, reinstalling QuickTime, doing windows updates, updating GPU drivers from Nvidia, clearing media cache DB, launching Premiere while holding shift. Nothing makes a difference.
System is an 2 CPU Intel Xeon E5-2687W 3.1 GHz, 64GB RAM running Win7 Pro 64.
Anyone have any suggestions that don't involve reinstalling CS6?

...BE AWARE.....the newest versions of PPro CC 2014 contain a "fix" for your problems with the .MOV 32 bit codec. Somehow, .MOVs are NOW handled in a 64 bit environment by PPro which REMOVES the CRIPPLING use of the 32 bit Quirktime process, and ALLOWS much greater memory to be used than the old 4 GB limit.......I've seen the DRASTIC improvement myself on my Haswell laptop. I am not sure about Media Encoder, however, it would be STUPID if the same improvement was not also made with THAT program. CS6 does NOT have this improvement.....and WILL not updated to get it. If I return to PPro 5.5....the "old" crappy performance returns with Canon MOVs......even on a TWICE as powerful machine !!!!.....UGH !!!
....Better to submit to the "subscription model" and its pecadillos that try to edit with a QUIRKTIME hobbled workflow !!!!

Media Encoder cs6 download?

Flash typically comes with media encoder but my download of Flash CS 6 did not install CS6 media Encoder and I need it to create an flv file since Adobe stupidly deprecated the format in subsequent versions of Media Encoder. All links I've found so far tell me I can not install the Media encoder because all I seem to be able to find is updates.

My photoshop media encoder has stopped working.

Error message "Could not complete the Render Video command because of a problem with Adobe Media Encoder." I tried download a new version, but I says it does not apply to me. Please let me know other options?

Photoshop includes a stripped down version of Adobe Media Encoder in it. Does not use Adobe Media Encoder. Its seems to be the folder
"C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC 2014\Required\DynamicLinkMediaServer"
