the hp all in one photosmart 7520 has been a nightmare-so user unfriendly.  I've had hp's before that printed photos like a dream.
I'm ready to toss this out the window.
Now, that I thought I had everything set up I go to print and have fine lines in the photo.  Help!!!

Hello beverlylapioli,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I gather that you are seeing lines in your photos when you are printing photos with your Photosmart 7520 printer.
I have included the Troubleshooting Print Quality Issues document for you.  Please follow the steps in the order presented.

there were frequent purple line appear on photo taken with my iPhone 5 camera, is this the defect of product?

So it looks like I ran out of AppleCare two weeks ago, what a shame. I guess it's not worth $260 to receive a new handset simply for a dusty camera. However this is still annoying due to the fact that the phone shouldn't have dust behind the lens anyway. I think this situation is a bit unfair since this is a malfuntion of hardware and it is also disappointing that so many people have this problem with the iPhone 5 in particular. :X
Thanks for your help though Templeton!

I am using a 5D Mark II and I am getting a series of three curved lines on the photos that are under exposed only.  Can anyone help me figure out why it is doing this?

Everything on the sensor is going to be organized in rows and columns. You can get a bad pixel or a column of bad pixels... or perhaps even a block ... but not a curve. If you're seeing a curve then certainly there must be something else causing this.
The camera does have two internal filters in front of the sensor, but those are flat and would probably not be the source of a curved reflection.
If you are confident this happens with more than one lens, then I might remove the lens and use the menu system to put the camera into manual "sensor cleaning" mode. This really just causes the mirror to swing clear (to the roof the chamber) and also causes the shutter door to open and expose the sensor (although the sensor is actually powered down when in "cleaning" mode). This would allow you to visually check to make sure nothing is hanging in the light path.
I would normally suspect the problem is caused either by the lens or possibly by a filter mounted on the front of the lens (do you use any type of UV filter or other filter when this happens?) The lens itself is curved glass... but since a "filter" would be flat glass in front of the curved glass, a reflection off the curved glass can bounce back off the filter and into the camera. Many "ghosting" problems are caused by the use of filters (and these can be eliminated by removing the filter or reduced by using filters with anti-reflective coatings.)
Hopefully you can the solution -- but I would probably be looking at the optics as I suspect this is not related to the camera body.

  • Selphy 910 thick white line, part of photo not printing

    Hi,
I have a Canon Selphy 910 and any photo i try to print with it comes out with a 1 inch thick white line down the length of the page where nothing has printed. The rest of the photo has printed but not this long black line along the photo,
It looks like there is something stopping the ink from geting to the page.
This happens if i print from a windows laptop r straight from an SD card
I have taken out the paper and the ink cartridge to make sure there is no tape, but all looks fine
This is a brand new printer staight of the the box
    Any ideas ?

  • How Do I Get Lines Out of photo?

When i transfer a photo from photoshop cs3 to indesign cs3 the photos appear pixalated. then i click view>display performance> high quality. the picture is no longer pixalated, its nice and sharp but now i have lines in the photo going left to right. when i export it out of indesign to my desktop as an adobe pdf file i still have those lines. what can i do to get rid of these lines? thanks for the help.

Post a screen shot[*] of your document so we can take a better look. At this point it might be anything, from "the lines are in your photo" to "they are InDesign guides and you enabled 'export with visible guides'."
[*] No full screen needed -- crop off a part that clearly shows the lines at 100%. Don't 'attach' the image, use the camera icon in the forum toolbar to insert your image into your post.

iPhoto '11:  Horizontal lines appear on photo printed on card stock; don't appear on photos printed on paper or other card stock.  How to get rid of them?

Horizontal lines appear on photo printed on card stock; don't appear on photos printed on paper or other card stock.
What's the difference between the first card stock and the other card stock? What's the finish on the problem card stock? What printer are you using?  Does is have a physical adjustment for different stock thicknesses?

  • Pixelated Line Art in Photo Gallery

    Hi
I am designing a photo gallery that externally loads jpegs
via XML. I have an actionscript that allows the jpegs to randomly
rotate at an angle as they load onto the stage. The jpegs contain
mostly logos that are line art. It works great but the images are
pixelated when they are at an angle since they are logos/line art.
I can't seem to find a solution to solve this pixelation problem. I
tried loading gif files instead but for some reason gifs does not
    load correctly.
    Any ideas? Thanks!

    Hi dzedward
Thanks for your reply. I attempted to create an
emptyMovieClip and applied cacheAsBitmap in context of the
actionScipt that already exist in the file. I tried to follow the
examples in the Flash 8 documentation but failed. The photo gallery
I am editing from can be downloaded here:

    Please help. Thanks

  • White lines above my Photos ?

    Hi there.
I have been working on my photography web site, and I've run into a problem. I have noticed that on certain photographs, only when viewed on my published web site (not "seen" in iweb) there appears a thin white line on the top of the image, oalong the top border of the image. There seems to be no consistancy as to the type of images, and all the photos are placed in the same x and y axis in the page. Some have the white line and some don't. This is very frustrating, as I can't seem to work out what might be wrong. Any ideas???
    Thanks,
    Jason Gold

  • I have dark lines going across photo

I just got a new Photosmart Plus B209 and it has lines on my 4x6 prints.  I printed 6 prints and one of the earlier ones was fine.  I was just using normal and not best setting because I have never used best before for printing photos.  The lines run about every half inch all the way across.  Do I have a faulty printer or is there something that I can do?
    Lindy

I encounter same problems in any video playback.
Unfortunately I won't be able to reach any nearest Apple Store in several month.
Is there any other way to solve this issue? It seems that it is connected to internal codec software.

  • Black lines when printing photo.

I have Adobe Photoshop Ellements 7.
All applications print correctly accept this program. I get vertical bl
ack lines when i print a photo. What"s up.

I read somewhere that this problem can occur with some printers if the picture's resolution has a fractions in it, for example 300.456. This can happen, for example,  if you resize the picture with the resampling box unchecked. Try resizing again to just the whole number.

  • Horizontal lines appear in photos when printed

I am having a problem with printing photos in an indesign document.  When the photos, jpeg files, are placed in the document and printed, there are faint black lines running horizontally across the photos at one-half inch increments.  These lines only run across the photos, not the rest of the document, and they do not appear when the photos are printed separate, i.e. not in an indesign document.  What can be causing this?  Is there some guide that I have accidentally turned on that could be causing this?
Thanks for any help on this matter.

The operating system is OS X.  The InDesign version is CS1 (educational version).  I don't know what it means for InDesign to be fully patched.  The printer is very basic, 2010 HP Photosmart Plus.  I do not believe it has a dragt mode (though I'm not quite sure what this is).
By fully patched I mean have you dowwloaded and installed the 3.0.1 update. Many, if not most, injet printers have a "draft" or "ink saver" setting in the print driver that uses less ink to save you money, and that can cause lines.

  • Lines steak across photos shared from iPhone 6 camera

When I email photos from Photos app or Camera app, the photos come through to my email with lines streaking across them. Like a kind of digital artifact or distortion. This happens in a random way, never repeated when I retry to share the image.

Thanks again for the replies, Terence and Léonie.  As you can see from the attached screenshots, I did not have that particular setting activated on my iPhone, so I still am stumped as to why the imported photos appear as duplicates in my iPhoto library.  I have sent Apple feedback through the Feedback Assistant in Yosemite, so maybe the situation will resolve itself soon enough.

  • Thumbnails are dotted-line squares,  No photos.

Just upgraded to the new iPhoto and my thumbnails are just dotted line squares.  If I double click on them, the photo is there, it's just the thumbnails that are the problem.

Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Include the option to rebuild the thumbnails. It can take 3 or 4 goes for this to work

  • Horizontal lines on cropped photo

I cropped the attached photo and printed it at 8x10 and the first time there was no problem but, when I tried again the print had horizontal lines spaced at about 1" apart on it.  I switched printers but have the same problem with this and another cropped photo.  Never had an issue before?

    969 pixels divided by 300 px/in= 3.23"
    1116 pixels divided by 300 px/in= 3.72"
You can copy/paste this on to an 8x10" blank file of the same resolution, but it will be a tiny picture on a large canvas.
Not knowing what the values are out of the camera, i.e. prior to resampling and/or cropping, it is impossible to provide a recipe. You may not be able to get a satisfactory print that is 8x10".
Try for a 4x6 or 5x7 @240-300 px/in. You can set this up on the crop tool's option bar, then crop to retain the important information.
Once you have done this, send it to the printer (File>print), and select paper size with the same dimensions. This work flow will allow you to maintain control of the variables, not the printer.

  • Why is my MacBook Pro slowe when I open it off line to view photo images?

I had recently activated iCloud. I have it set not to copy my photos or data, but only settings and a few other categories. I opened it offline in Preview to quickly view photos on memory cards. I found it slow, with a drop down box periodically flashing open from  the top of the screen. It appears to be attempting to copy or save my images. I presume this is to iCloud, though I have it specifically unchecked and do not want it saved to iCloud. I have Dropbox, which I quit, so it is not a factor. I never save my photo images there either. In the past, it was never problem to open and view images with Preview. Now it is extremely slow to open and load images for contact sheet view. All this is recent with the addition of Mavericks and iCloud. Also, I attempted to get  out of this by quitting, but had to resort to a forced quit, as it continued to do what it was doing.
Is there a way to be sure iCloud is not copying things and slowing down my computer? Is this a glitch caused by Mavericks?
I have done scans with Sophos Antivirus and it does not appear I have any virus. I have lost all the speed of having a Mac. It is now slower than my old dual core Acer PC. I recently added a Caldigit Thunderbolt dock which has worked great to add USB 3.0 to  my early 2011 MacBook Pro which had not 3.0 ability, but this
was bypassed, as my card reader is only 2.0. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I think I have found the source of my problem detailed above. Apparently, there have been problems with Preview running on OS Mavericks, dating back to October 2013, which Apple has yet to acknowledge or address. Many have had similar problems with photo images loading very slowly to the point of making Preview unuseable.
It may also explain problems I have had with flash drives and hard drives that ran on my Mac Book Pro under Lion no longer working  since upgrading to Mavericks. I found other postings on these issues.
It is a shame that I have to resort to Google as the best source to identify problems with my Mac and possible solutions. In many cases, it directs me to the source on Apple Support, which is difficult to find when one attempts a search via Apple Support. This could use some improvement.
I am new to using community support sites and Apple does not seem  to provide simple, clear directions  on how to get started. Jumping in with both feet, not only did I get wet, but I apparently "splashed" someone, as I got a hostile response from another community member on the first issue ever posted. I never did get an answer to the problem, though. I hope some find these comments helpful.
Oh, and wake up, Apple. We all would hope you monitor and glean information from these postings and act promptly to remedy problems with OS Mavericks.
