Lines not drawing precisly on cs5 and wacom

Anyone know what could be the problem, set up a new system, with my wacom intuous 4, and i have never had a problem before, but on both illustrator and photoshop i cant seem to get a decent curve drawn, As soon as my pen starts a line it seems to be "thinking" and makes the first 10mm straight and thn a curve. Also if i hold my pen to the wacom tablet for longer than 2 seconds it starts thinking and sets up the pen tools drop box. Please help.
I have uninstalled all programs, and reinstalled them, with no joy.

Try Google, but be ready to dodge the rush of hits it brings up.  I don't know if there was ever a fix for CS5 and Lion, but I can tell you something that will let you get beautifully smooth and flowing lines; cure the dreaded shoelace problem (thos nasty blobby bits at the end of a tapered line, and let you make incredibly long tapered start _and_ ends to your pressure sensitive lines.
Plus you get the bonus of a dozen or so line drawing constraints, and a a bunch of presets.  It's called Lazy Nezumi Pro, and no tablet user should be without it.

  • Line thickness problem in indesign CS5 and CS6

    I use indesign CS5 and many short lines of 0.5 point in my project.
    After export to pdf (press) everything seems correct. After rip process from printer office in compressed file lines seems to have different thickness even on large zoom (400%).
    High quality pdf from rip prepared by printer office still shows small differences in thickness. Lines are in one solid color in my project.
    What is the source of this problem? 0.5 point ines seems not extremely thin.
    If the line is not sharp in pdf will it be not sharp in press?

    I wouldn't go off what I see on screen. I'd be asking the printer for a hi-res proof. If that's not satisfactory they could run a test on offcuts on another print job to see where the problem lies.
    One reason for different linethickness could be that the lines are interacting with transparent areas, giving the appearance of thicker, or could be physically changing the width by a few decimals.
    I'd try putting any of the thin lines on their own layer - and perhaps try different PDF compatibilities, from PDF 1.3 to PDF 1.4 etc.

  • Schedule lines not getting confirmed on staurdays and sundays

    Hi all,
    At sales order level, the schedule lines are not getting confimred on staurdays and sundays. So,in the factory which has been assigned to that plant, we have checked all holidays . Even then it's not confirming on saturdaus and sundays.
    In the factory calendar, it was maintained like this.
    Valid      from Year   1996
                    To Year     2010
    Holiday calendar    ID IN
    Specific rule          none exist
    Work days
    Moday to sunday have been ticked. Only public holidays have not been ticked.
    even then staurday and sundays schedule lines are not getting confirmed. pLEASE ADVISE.

    Hi,
    Go to T.CODE SCAL, select your calender id & click on definition.
    Check the working days.Also check the "Holiday Calendar ID" assigned to the "Factory Calendar ID".
    Check if it helps.

  • Dimensions in inches do not match in PS CS5 and Bridge CS5

    Comparing the dimensions in inches between Mac Photoshop CS5 and Bridge CS5 show errors in Bridge's calculations.
    Example: PS shows in image size 30 x 16.891 inches. Bridge shows in Essentials that the file is 30.1 x 17.
    Is there a way to resolve the difference?
    Seems that the dimensions of the file would be exact in the Metadata Panel of Bridge, but it shows the same dimensions of the Essentials data below the preview.

    Well, I'm not necessarily suggesting it as a permanent solution, just a workable fix to get up and working again. Which is what I've always done - anything's better than those useless junk profiles that these manufacturers keep pushing down unsuspecting users' throats.
    But it's true, some calibrators really are "silly devices" and in some cases you really are better off using sRGB. I've accumulated about 8 or 10 different calibrators over the years but if you ask me now I only trust two of them. Both especially and exclusively made for the displays they're used on.
    Still, it never hurts to get into good habits early on. Your knowledge improves, your equipment improves, and you move on. The early takeaway for me was that it helped me understand what color management is and what it does - and where it does it. Pretty basic stuff, but nevertheless an important leap in understanding. A small step for a man and all that...

  • Flex not embedding metadata in CS5 and CS5.5

    I believe we have a problem related to:
    http://blog.natebeck.net/2011/05/flex-sdk-4-5-doesnt-keep-embed-metadata/
    The project is a CS4 fla that has numerous files embedded with metadata tags:
    [Embed(source = "campaign.xml", mimeType = "application/octet-stream")] public static var campaignData:Class;
    [Embed(source="mirror.pbj", mimeType="application/octet-stream")] public static var MirrorShader:Class;
    [Embed(source="rotateCW.pbj", mimeType="application/octet-stream")] public static var RotateCWShader:Class;
    [Embed(source = "shopUpgrades.json", mimeType = "application/octet-stream")] public static var upgradesData:Class;
    [Embed(source = "help.txt", mimeType = "application/octet-stream")] public static var helpData:Class;
    None of the embedded data is being loaded in when compiled with CS5 or CS5.5
    This is a serious issue for us as it means that all of our Flash 10 projects are now uncompilable in CS5 and CS5.5 and we are unable to make money on these projects.
    What work around can we implement to solve this?

    what exactly is your requirement. I have been able to read and write using property XMPString
    this is the way to start, refer to extended toolkit documentation for XML class.
    var oXML = new XML(app.activeDocument.XMPString);

  • Line not drawing at the correct location.

    I have a JPanel inside a JScrollPane I am drawing on and drawing is going good except for one problem. At the very end of my paint method, I want to draw a vertical line on the panel that is exactly in the middle of the current visible rectangle. From what I can tell, it should be repainting in the dead center every time repaint is called, but for some reason it isn't.
    Here is my paintComponent method:
        public void paintComponent(Graphics g)
            int wordWidth = 0;
            int wordHeight = 0;
            int duration = 0;
            super.paintComponent(g);
            g2d = (Graphics2D) g;
            g2d.setFont(font);
            /* draw a gradient background */
            g2d.setPaint(new GradientPaint(0, 0, new Color(100, 100, 100), 0, this.getSize().height, new Color(255, 255, 255)));
            g2d.fillRect(0, 0, this.getSize().width, this.getSize().height);
            /* draw lines for each note */
            g2d.setColor(Color.BLACK);
            for (int i = 0; i < GuiConstants.notes.values().length; i++)
                g2d.drawLine(0, (int) (GuiConstants.SONG_DISPLAY_HEIGHT - ((GuiConstants.SONG_DISPLAY_HEIGHT / 24) * (i))), this.getSize().width, (int) (GuiConstants.SONG_DISPLAY_HEIGHT - ((GuiConstants.SONG_DISPLAY_HEIGHT / 24) * (i))));
            synchronized (words)
                for (int i = 0; i < words.size(); i++)
                    /* get the width and height of the text so we can draw a box around it */
                    wordWidth = g.getFontMetrics().stringWidth(words.get(i).getLyric());
                    wordHeight = g.getFontMetrics().getHeight();
                    /* get the duration of the word */
                    duration = ((words.get(i).getEndSample() / 200) - (words.get(i).getStartSample() / 200));
                    /* draw the main box that the text sits in */
                    g2d.setColor(Color.DARK_GRAY);
                    g2d.fillRoundRect(words.get(i).getPoint().x, words.get(i).getPoint().y, wordWidth, wordHeight, 3, 3);
                    /* draw a box that will be a duration */
                    if ((i % 2) == 0)
                        g2d.setColor(Color.BLUE);
                    else
                        g2d.setColor(Color.ORANGE);
                    g2d.fillRoundRect(words.get(i).getPoint().x, words.get(i).getPoint().y, duration, wordHeight, 3, 3);
                    /* draw the text in the box */
                    g2d.setColor(Color.WHITE);
                    g2d.drawString(words.get(i).getLyric(), words.get(i).getPoint().x, words.get(i).getPoint().y + 16);
            /* draw vertical line in the middle of the panel */
            int x = ((int) this.getVisibleRect().getX()) + ((int) this.getVisibleRect().getWidth() / 2);
            System.out.println("Drawing line at " + x);
            g2d.setColor(Color.RED);
            g2d.drawLine(x, 0, x, GuiConstants.SONG_DISPLAY_HEIGHT);
        }This section is the other part I am having problems with.
    /* draw vertical line in the middle of the panel */
            int x = ((int) this.getVisibleRect().getX()) + ((int) this.getVisibleRect().getWidth() / 2);
            System.out.println("Drawing line at " + x);
            g2d.setColor(Color.RED);
            g2d.drawLine(x, 0, x, GuiConstants.SONG_DISPLAY_HEIGHT);When the panel displays for the first time, the line is painted directly in the center. When I click the right arrow on my JScrollPane, the output to the console says that is it drawing at the correct point, but actually the is never repainted and it moves with the panel as I scroll across. Now, if I click in the middle off the scrollbar to force the scrollbar indicator to scroll to where my mouse is pressed, it actually repaints correctly.
    I am just confused on how I can be printing to the console the correct location where it "says" it's painting, but it doesn't actually repaint. Any ideas?

    so wouldn't putting a panel in front of it prevent me from being able to main panel I am painting to?wouldn't it be easier to whip up a simple app, to test?

  • Two versions of Bridge installed - CS5 and CS5.1 - how to remove one?

    Looks like this happened by installing Photoshop CS5.1 first, then Flash CS5 after that.  Now I have two versions of Adobe Bridge, along with Extension Manager and a bunch of other redundant stuff now
    This is causing me multiple problems:
    1) the right-click menu "Browse with Adobe Brigde CS5" is set to the old version.  Probably because it installed afterward (?).  This is no good.  I want it to default to the newer version obviously.
    2) I am getting a lot of performance errors - the "not enough drive space" kind of error, when I just try to zoom in on a single small image in a folder with only a couple images in it.  Bear in mind I have 12GB of RAM running here.
    How do uninstall the old versions!??  Note, I ALSO have an old old version of Adobe Bridge that came from an install of some CS2 components!!!  It's out of control and aggravating.
    Please help
    - Jon

    It is usually recommeded you keep old versions rather than removing them.  Some users run in to file association problems when removing older versions.  The file association goes back to the version removed if you can comprehend that.
    The versions should not conflict with one another.  HOWEVER, you can run only one Bridge version at a time.
    It is also recommended you install programs in order.  So if you installed the newer one first and then the older one you can upset the file associate order.  You can try to fix that first and then uninstall if that does not work.  Go go edit.file type associations see what the dafault programs are listed as CS5 or CS5.1.  There is a radio button on the bottom to reset these to factory default, and this sometimes works.
    If not I would uninstall CS5 and CS5.1 and install the older one first.  Or if you don't want CS5 on machine just install CS5.1.  To be on the safe side you could run Adobe Script cleaner which will delete bits that the uninstall process did not get.

  • IPad Notes sync with work laptop and Outlook

    Hello - I've looked at all sort of articles here on the forums and elsewhere for this answer, but it seems like either it's something that's half-baked (requires iTunes or something else) or non-existent. Is there a straight forward method of taking notes with my iPad while at meetings (Notes, drawing/writing app, etc) and having them sync'ed up with my laptop/workstation at my desk when I get back to it?
    Its great having the small iPad for meetings and reading emails and taking notes, but can I get those notes off the iPad and into my working environment would be even better.
    I realize something like Evernote can help, but is that the best method today? I've also read about the iTunes WiFi sync - but I don't think that works unless iTunes is running and I'm not even sure how that works.

    If you are using the default Notes app on your iPad, you can transfer the notes you took on your iPad to your PC using the method described here:
    http://iphone-contacts.wikia.com/wiki/How_to_transfer_notes_between_iPhone_and_P C
    iTunes, on the other hand, should be able to help you sync your iPad notes with Outlook on your PC. If you use third party Notes app such as Evernote, transfering of notes could be done using Evernote's computer program.

  • Can only draw circle and square in Illustrator CS5 and Photoshop CS5

    I am experiencing a strange bug that seems to be affecting both Photoshop CS5 and Illustrator CS5. In Illustrator, when I try to draw a rectangle or ellipse I can only draw circles and squares. Also I can't change the color of selected objects. When I try to change its fill nothing happens. I can also only drag objects on the 0, 45 and 90 degree angles. Also I can no longer select off an object by clicking on the artboard. When I click on the artboard nothing happens.
    Similarly in Photoshop I can only draw straight lines using the brush tool. The  marquee tool is also not functioning properly. When I try to use the marquee tool the marching ants form a square but when I release the mouse it selects a rectangular portion. Strangely if I use the marquee tool and make selection I can press the shift key and add to it but this second selection's marching ants are not square but are properly rectangular.
    Since the problem seems to be affecting both Illustrator and Photoshop I'm thinking it's probably some kind of system conflict or perhaps an application running in the background is affecting it. Also if I restart my mac the problem goes away. Unfortunately the problem eventually returns.
    Anyway I'm pretty sure most of the suggested fixes involve systematically going through all the programs running in the background and trying to determine which if any might be affecting Illustrator and Photoshop but I just thought I'd post something in case someone else had the problem or knew of any fixes.
    I'm running CS5 on a MBP.
    Thanks!

    Ok I figured out the problem. It was another application called teleport which lets you control 2 macs with one mouse. It requires a hot key and in my case that was the shift key. Even though it was running it was still affecting me. Had to quit it and restart. If you're having a similar problem I'd check to see you're not running any other applications that can be activated with a hot key.

  • Photoshop CS5 will not draw an oval

    Photoshop CS5 and Windows 7, are suddenly unable to draw an Oval with the Oval Elliptical Marquee Tool. It draws a circle perfectly...without holding down the Shift key. Holding down or not holding down the shift makes no difference. A perfect circle each time. Any thoughts on what might be causing this?

    Many thanks Trevor. I have no idea how or why it was changed but you hit the solution right on the money. Thanks again!

  • Add an in-line notes panel and some kind of notification.

    It would improve our workflow if my designer could see In-line notes as they are added to the document, and get some sort of pop-up notification when a new in-line note is added.  Our current process is to have the designer search through the document periodically and is in-efficient.  We used a plug-in for CS4 that was provided by a vendor, but they have not updated for CS5 yet.

    I found this cool chrome extension called Cisco Dialer.
    It works wonderfully with a simple setup (just put in the phone's IP address) hover over a gmail contact's number and a little phone pops up on the right hand side - click it and it automatically dials it through your cisco phone. I just wish this extension was chrome wide, not just for gmail contacts.

  • PS CC 2014 - Brush tool will not draw a continuous line

    Brush tool will not draw a continuous line, I am on a macbook pro.
    Click and drag - I only get a spot.
    Very frustrating.

    Thanks for your answer PK. I really expected this to work as an ok workaround.... Now I've found that I cannot even cmd+tab back into CC.
    Let's say I tab out into Safari. I get the Safari window on top of CC. I tab back to CC and nothing happens.
    So I have to click back into the CC window to bring it back.
    Does anyone know if that is a bug that Adobe are looking into?

  • Excel Chart High-Low Lines Not Rendering when Chart Object Contains No NumCache and StringCache

    I have a number of Excel xlsx files which contain a Chart object configured with High-low Lines.  The High-Low Lines render without issue when the Number Cache & String Cache exist in the file.  A process updating the files removes the Number
    Cache and String Cache from the Chart Object.  After this process has updated the files Excel no longer observes the High-Low Line configuration.  I have verified that the files still contain the setting for the Chart to have High-Low Lines (<c:hiLowLines
    />).  Excel does not recognize that the setting is set (not rendered when viewed or preserved in the file settings after saving in Excel). Excel does not present any errors and everything else works fine.
    Reproduction of Issue:
    1. Create an Excel Document containing a Chart Object with High-Low Lines enabled.
    2. Manually edit the chart1.xml file (in the xlsx file), removing all the Number Cache and String Cache entries from the document (<c:numCache/>, <c:strCache/>).
    3. Open the Document in Excel and view the Chart.  It will not draw the High-Low Lines and if saved the file will no-longer contain the hiLowLines setting.
    The issue has been confirmed in Excel 2010 and Excel 2013.

    The issue has been tested on different computers, 11 in total.  The OS ranges from Windows 7 to Windows 8.1.
    I have not tried in other file formats.  Due to the requirements of the project I'm restricted to xlsx.
    The application interacting with the files is proprietary.
    I've simulated the issue by removing the Number Cache & String Cache manually from the Chart1.xml file.  This causes the issue to occur.  I will note that if i only remove one of the cache entries from the file the High-Low lines will be observed
    in Excel.  It seems to only happen if all of the cache entries are removed.  The file is never interpreted by Excel as corrupt under any of the modifications.
    The issue seems like Excel fails to evaluate the High-Low Lines property when the cache is completely removed.  I'm not sure what Excel is doing to negate the property under the condition of no cache.  After the files is opened with Excel and saved
    the High-Low Lines property no-longer exists in the file.
