imac G5   Mac OS X (10.3.9)   I am trying to burn a DVD from my TIVo... i am using a CanopusADVC110 and editing the time in imovie then to idvd to a disk image and then burning to a DVD however the quality turns out very poor with horizontal "lines" very visible up close... what am i doing wrong ?? please help!!...

Hi Melanie
Just an observation I made with a Canopus ADVC300. Connected to a VHS
VCR when haveing a commersial tape in it then the screen on my Mac went
dark blue and fuzzy.
It is the Copy protection that goes into action. That's the way it works.
Way's around is in many countries ILLEGAL.

  • Customizing ADF Faces Look & Feel. Some questions & suggestions

    Hi everybody,
    We are developing an application with ADF Faces using JHeadStart. For the moment, I am studying the way we must modify the JHS templates to adapt each element to our needs.
    As it's told in the JHeadStart Developer's Guide, there are two ways to customize Look & Feel:
    1) Modifying the templates
    2) ADF Skinning
    I'm using both methods, but I feel that thay are not good enough to adapt the L&F to our customer requirements.
    My main problem now is in the ADF Table customization. I want to use ADF Table because it offers us a lot of features that are not in the jsf table (the selection column, the table overflow...), and is very usefull combined with the generated JHS code. But at the same time, it doesn't offer a lot of functionality in the look & feel customization. Using JSF Table, I can set the CSS style for headers, rows, columns, the table, I can set the border, cellspacing and cellpadding. But I cannot do
    any of these thing (or at least, I don't see how) with the ADF Table.
    Our customer (a government) have a strict definition of the look & feel of his web applications. They want we use their CSS styles definition file, so they can modify at once the Look & Feel of all their applications. Modifying the L&F through skinning generate other styles, not use the style classes in our CSS (o so I think).
    So, the questions:
    1) There is any way to set the suitable styles for the ADF Table components (headers, rows)?
    1bis) Why, If I have defined a new skin, with only just a few selectors, some styles from oracle are applied? Maybe because the render kit in the 'adf-skins.xml' is "oracle.adf.desktop"? If it is true, how can I make that they are not used, I must implement a render kit or can I use another existent?
    2) Can I decide how looks the select column (for example a button instead of a radio button)? Can I decide where does it goes (right or left)?
    3) There is any way to hidden the text Show/Hide of the showDetail in the table (the tableOverflow), as I can change the icons through skinning? If it is not possible, How can I overwrite the text. I need it in Catalan, but it is shown in English for this locale. Where is the message bundle I should overwrite?
    4) There is any way to force a tree to start fully expanded?
    5) There is anywhere documentation about the javascript functions used in ADF and their meaning? I think for example in the previous question. If I knew which javascript function I should call for expand the tree and its parameters, I could put the call in the onload event of the body.
    6) I use a selectInputDate. I have skinned the launch-icon, and I would like to do a similar thing in the chooseDate that is opened in a new window. But It seems not to be affected for my skinning directives (if I put a chooseDate in the same page, its L&F follow the skinning rules I've defined). I don't know if this dialog is an ADF feature or a JHS generated feature.
    7) There is any way to keep unmodified the id I've choosed for a component? (I mean, an inputText with id="hello" in a form with id="form" will have in the HTML an id = "form:hello", but I would like it to be simply 'hello')
    8) How can I control the position and the size of a dialog (the chooseDate dialog or a dialog I've created)? In the cases I've been testing, it seems the dialog is forced to resize depending on the content. I would like to know if I can establish a fixed size.
    9) There is any way to open a non-modal dialog? (which I could keep open at the same time that another instance of the same dialog)
    For the moment, I think I have no more question. But give me time.... :-D
    The suggestion I've to do is basically more flexible components for a better customization (for example, the styles settings I've talked about previously). ADF components are nice and powerful, but I think they should generate pages that follow the tendencies in the web development: tableless pages (I cannot understand the utility of the objectSpacer existing the margins), use of CSS for layout...
    Any answer, comment or suggestion will be welcome.
    Carles.

    I have been able to make the UIX 2.2 and ADF Faces LAF look near identical by updating the oracle-desktop.xss file within UIX 2.2 as follows
    <!-- Change the accent color ramp to tan -->
    <style name="DarkAccentBackground">
    <!--<property name="background-color">#cccc99</property>-->
    <property name="background-color">#d2d8b0</property>
    </style>
    There are still some differences:
    1) A black line appears on the ADF Faces on the 'menu1' facet selected tab below the text. DON'T KNOW HOW TO REMOVE THIS FROM ADF Faces or add it to UIX 2.2!!!
    2) In UIX 2.2 a bulleted list uses the HTML <li> tag. In ADF Faces it doesn't use the HTML <li> tag rather it constructs the bulleted list using lower level HTML tags with the 'bullet' becoming an image, in my browser this means the disc is smaller in Faces. The motivation for this change I think is explained via this post. Since I have no control over how this specific HTML tag is rendered it forces me to replace the /adf/images/bltdscn.gif file in adf-faces-impl.jar with a larger disc!

    May update this again if there are other things I notice.

  • JDeveloper Visual Editor not rendering ADF Faces

    Hi guys, thanks for read my post.
    I'm working on a MVC application, and using ADF Faces in view. I did any changes, editing my jsf pages sources.
    Now JDeveloper doesn't show the design view of no one jsf pages.
    I followed the steps enumerated by Didier Laurent in:
    http://blogs.oracle.com/Didier/2006/11/22
    (thanks Didier), but it didn't resolve the trouble.
    When i run jdev.exe instead jdevW.exe I watch the following lines:
    (digester.Digester 164) [ConverterRule]{faces-config/converter} Merge(javax.faces.Short,null)
    (digester.Digester 164) [ConverterRule]{faces-config/converter} Merge(null,java.lang.Short)
    (digester.Digester 164) [ConverterRule]{faces-config/converter} Merge(javax.faces.Byte,null)
    (digester.Digester 164) [ConverterRule]{faces-config/converter} Merge(null,java.lang.Byte)
    But I can't see the error cause,
    Have you seen this problem before?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi again, thanks for your reply Shay. I had followed this steps to, but I don't reach to get the misconfiguration or error in my faces pages for showing design time messages in log. Log is empty and if I run JDeveloper from jdev.bin I don't see more than some lines I sent before.
    Thanks

  • G/L account issue-Line items not appearing in the G/L

    Hi,
    We are using ECC6.
    A  B/S account is open item managed as well as line item managed. Also it was later activated for ledger group specific clearing.
    There is a problem line items do not get displayed in FBL3n (i.e they do not get updated in the BSIS table), when we run program RFSEPA01 it updates the line items in BSIS table but when subsequent line items are posted we face the same problem again..which can be solved only if we run the program RFSEPA01.
    Please help.
    Regards
    Neelam

    Hi,
    Once the line item display check box is selected and ran prog RFSEPA01, system will updates the records to BSIS table for all the line items posted using that GL account. Afterwards it will defenitely generate line items in relatime, when the postings are made.
    Better you to raise a OSS message by attaching the proper documentation of the total scenario.
    Thanks,
    Srinu

  • Choppy playback, when render line showing gray (niether green or red).

    Hello,
    Initially the render line shows red and gray in some parts. When I render the movie the red sections do turn green, but the gray portions remain gray. Playback is fine while in the green areas, but stalls and becomes extremely choppy when passing over the gray areas (I've posted a phicture to help make my explaination a little clearer). Does anyone know a fix for this?
    Thanks,
    Nadine.

    Vid_2011
    What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
    Without further information, there is nothing to fix. See explanation to follow.
    The area of the Timeline over which the green line appears tells me that you
    (a) edited original video which presented with no color line and the edit forced the red line which you "rendered" to green.
    (b) Or, you had content that imported originally to present with the red line over the content and you rendered to green.
    A video properties and project preset mismatch.
    What are the properties of the Timeline over which your "gray" no colored line situation exists? At face value, they could be imported media that imported with no colored line over their contents, and you have not edited yet. Please detail the situation so we know the real situation.
    Just in case recap....
    no colored line over Timeline content (only seen on first drag before edit of content) when native format and project preset is set to match the properties of the source media. The program is telling you that you have the best possible preview. So, no rendering is needed or possible. If you edit this type, the indicator line turns red and rendering/edits/rendering thereafter involve only red green changes, no more no colored line.
    green line over Timeline...you have the best possible preview, no rendering is needed or possible.
    in versions earlier than 11, red line indicates need for Timeline rendering to get the best possible preview. After the Timeline rendering, the red line turns green with all the implications stated above.
    In versions 11 and 12, the red Timeline render indicator is no longer and now is an orange line.
    Please review and consider and please get back to us with more details as to what is in the tracks below the render indicator lines.
    Thank you.

  • Oracle.adf.controller.faces.context.FacesPageLifecycleContext not found

    Hi all,
    I am using JDeveloper 11.1.1.0 and I am trying to do an application about security.
    I have found some references on web and I have a bean that uses this line of code:
    FacesPageLifecycleContext ctx = (FacesPageLifecycleContext)event.getLifecycleContext();
    but on the line:
    import oracle.adf.controller.faces.context.FacesPageLifecycleContext;
    the debugger tells me: "class oracle.adf.controller.faces.context.FacesPageLifecycleContext not found"
    What's the correct class to import?
    Thanks

    Hi,
    not sure what you are doing - however I am not asking ;-)
    Try import oracle.adf.controller.v2.context.LifecycleContext

  • Ugggh - Say it isn't so - changed policy on upgrade pricing on smart phones on basic phone line

    I had been waiting until my son's basic / dumb phone line was eligible for an upgrade to purchase the iPhone 5.  People had told me if we bought the iPhone 5 on his line and then re-activate his basic phone line then I could use the phone on my line (thereby keeping my unlimited data).  I've also heard people do this and sell the phone on ebay.  Now, a Verizon rep told me that you have to keep the new phone active on the line for 90 days or else they will charge you back for the full price of the phone.  Grrrr -- it seems like they closed this loophole.  Can anyone confirm or deny it with a link to where it says this in the Verizon 'fine print' on the website (I can't seem to find it)?  I'm really disappointed!

    MichelleLong wrote:
    It was a corporate store.  I hadn't heard that before which is why I posted the question.  I wondered if Verizon had closed the loophole on getting upgrade pricing and switching the phone to another line to keep the unlimited data.
    It may have been a Verizon "authorized reseller" which is NOT a corporate Verizon store - places like the mall kiosks or storefronts that look very "Verizon" may be a reseller.  You need to check the Store locator to be sure which are, in fact, corporate stores.
    And for the record, the "loophole" (which really isn't a loophole at all, it's always been available) that allows you to upgrade one line and use the phone on another (upgrade transfer, buddy upgrade, whatever you want to call it) is still in place; there are no 90-day restrictions.  If the store you are dealing with is telling you that you need to keep the phone active on the line for 90-days or face penalties, then it is NOT a Verizon corporate store.

  • How to get multiline tooltip with ADF Faces shortDesc property?

    Is there a way to break the tooltip text over multiple lines when using the ADF Faces shortDesc property? I am willing to concatenate in some special character or tag if that will work.

    Hi,
    there is a find method on the FacesContext (fc)
    fc.getViewRoot().findComponent(String)
    that you can use to access the component by it ID in a managed bean. You can expose this as a method if it needs to be EL accessible

  • Faces will not identify any of my photos

    I recently installed iLife '09 and have gone through the Faces "Get Started". I have chosen two faces that are fairly common among all of my photos and added 5 for the cork board. Faces has yet to identify any of the others remaining in my library, instead the little wheel just spins and spins.

    I am having a similar difficulty. Here are my specifics: I had over 15,000 photos in my iPhoto'08 Library. I upgraded to iPhoto '09. It scanned for hours and came up with over a 100 places. The Faces was 0 as I hadn't identified any of the faces in my photos. I identified about 8 faces. When I double clicked into any of the faces on the cork board, all I saw was the spinning wheel presumably looking for matching Faces. I opened up iPhoto on a few different days and let the spinning wheel go and go. No suggested matches. Today I decided to listen to the introductory video and while it was playing the Face open on the corkboard actually populated the screen with a couple of hundred suggested matches. It was amazing and so accurate. Completely thrilling. I reviewed the suggestions, confirmed most, declined some and left some unconfirmed. (There are many more photos of that Face in my library but it was thrilling to see the ones that it had found.) Clicked "Done" and then went into the Events folder to look at some other photos. When I went back to the same Face, I expected to see the confirmed faces up top and the ones that I had neither confirmed nor declined below the line. The confirmed photos were above but nothing was below the line. I tried another Face and there were no suggested matches. I closed iPhoto and relaunched it. The same situation. I went into the discussions forum, saw Old Toad's suggestion to AltCmdreopen iPhoto to rebuild the database. Did it and all of the faces info was missing. After gnashing my teeth, I went into a photo to identify a face and I was not given a face box/name label on a photo with an obvious face. I added the face, identified it. Did a couple of the same face and went into faces. It immediately said no matches. It was the same face that iPhoto found so many faces for initially. I did the rebuild again and same situation. So there is my long detailed response. I think that iPhoto has potential and can clearly identify faces but something is wrong with it.

  • Why does registering as "English (British)" give me a mixture of English and some Cyrillic language?

    The User Name and Password boxes were in Cyrillic and the "Repeat password" and "Email address" boxes were in English. Subsequent pages are also mixed. It appears that some of the words and sentences have been converted into Klingon, but others (Thank goodness!) haven't yet.
    nb. My tech detail responses refer to what follows: I only came here to get rid of, "The update could not be installed (patch apply failed)". The message is about as useful as Micro$oft's "This application failed to install".
    I'd just like to know how to prevent the update attempts so I can identify the add-on responsible.

    Thank you for such a rapid and comprehensive reply.
    I should have split my response into two entries. It was only registering here that gave me the Cyrillic script. I should have noted the words, as former USSR languages don't even share every Cyrillic character. It could therefore have been Estonian or some other non-Russian language.
    It seems to only be a problem with the initial registration. This page is totally English.
    You're right about the dragons. Maybe I disabled the reminder in a previous version. May the dragon warning stay forever!
    I don't like the "This is embarrassing..." line though. If Mozilla can get permission from Fox Entertainment, it should say something like, "D'OH! Here's Homer's best guess at what pages you had open before."
    I have no problem with local UK settings. I suspect it's just an error on the UK registration page that 'cookied' me from then on as being Lithuanian or something.
    If I was Cinderella, I'd have become a pumpkin by now, so I'll check out your links after I've had some sleep.
    Thanks again!

    I think 6.2 is easier, just follow read me instruction, on redhat 7.0 you must run patch to downgrade glibc from 2.2 to 2.1

  • How to add landing page s-parameter to a form submission?

    Hi,
    Really hoping somebody can help me. This is something I have seen used in many of my previouse roles and I would like to introduce it to my current position but am a bit lost. We develop our website inhouse and are currently in the process of migrating it to Dreamweaver CSS, which I am unfamiliar with.
    What I want to do is introduce a tracking code that allows me to see excatly where the original click came from on all Email submissions (conversions).
    What i would like to happen is, when a lead form from our website is submitted there is a hidden default field that comes through to us on the Email submission. That field should (if all goes to plan) pull the S parameter from the URL of the landing page. This S parameter is a code that I have generated and placed in the destination URL of all PPC ads and campaigns (as below)
    I believe I have the correct piece of script ,  I’m just not sure how to place it and what I need to amend within it .
        <form action="jspostto.htm" method="get">
            <input type="hidden" id="hiddenParameterValue" name="hiddenParameterValue" />
            <input type="submit" value="Submit" />
        </form>
        blah<br />
        <script language="javascript" type="text/javascript">
            document.getElementById("hiddenParameterValue").value = getParam("f");
        </script>
    An example of the kind or code I am putting in is www.sapphiresystems.com/uk/sunsystems/index.htm?s=GUKAOOH02&K={keyword} in the destination URLs of PPC campaigns and Facebook links to the website as such www.sapphiresystems.com/sapb1/index.htm?s=FBSAPBOX.
    Really appreciate any help or insight you can offer,
    Many thanks
    Kiti

    Hi Both,
    Apologies, yes we are on PHP,
    This is what is really throwing me off .... i don't know what WEBBOT is? I have posted everything that was between form tags, just incase i let anything important out.
    Again really appreciate all the help and advice,
    Thanks , Kiti

  • Creative Support =

    I m about to tell a story about how bad Creative support is. First I email them. I ahve to send what year I bought my card. I put a random date cause I'm to lazy to look for the invoice. I theng et a email a couple days later saying they won't help because my card is to old. I then email them again but saying I bought the card within a month. They then email me back a couple days later again giving me a couple obvious things to look up that had nothing to do with my problem. Then I reply back giving so much detail into my problem that a 5 year old would understand it fully. Then I get a reply a couple days later and it links me to download the latest drivers. OMG I ALREADY HAVE THE LATEST DRIVERS. If Creative wants to call it sound cards for gamers then they should fix a major problem for the most success online action game of all time Counter-Strike. What I've been wanting all this time is for them to code a locking tool into the surrond mixer so you could choose to lock the voice to only mic. I jsut though of a slogan for Creative "We are Creative and think of Creative-vly bad responses to your support emails. "When writing your message, remember to keep the language clean." - Like thats gonna happen when people have to go through this horrid support.Message Edited by defi on 07-25-2006 08:07 AM

    Did you try what they listed in FAQ\support section at steam? Anyway here's a link to the very first thing I found when doing a search for "Mic"
    Problem: Microphone input switches when launching a game<IMG height=6 alt="" src="http://support.steampowered.com/rnt/rnw/img/trnsp.gif" width=> Question
    <FONT face="Verdana, Helvetica" size=2>I have all the recording settings for my mixer and select Line /<SPAN class=highlighted>Mic, and it works before I play a game, but whenever I start CS it sets the recording device to Wave Out Mix, instead of Line /<SPAN class=highlighted>Mic. As a result the game engine is binding it's <SPAN class=highlighted>mic input to the wrong source on the sound card.
    <FONT face="Verdana, Helvetica" size=2>I can alt-tab out of the game and set it back to Line /<SPAN class=highlighted>Mic then it works for the test in the options menu, but when I join a Server it puts it the <SPAN class=highlighted>mic back to Wave Out Mix again so my <SPAN class=highlighted>mic won't work.
    <FONT face="Verdana, Helvetica" size=2>How do I fix this?
    <IMG height=6 alt="" src="http://support.steampowered.com/rnt/rnw/img/trnsp.gif" width=> Answer
    <FONT face="Verdana, Helvetica" size=2>Other software applications like CD Recording programs can change the wavein input to come from the CD player instead of from the microphone, then when players try and use their microphone in the game it won't work.
    <FONT face="Verdana, Helvetica" size=2>To solve this, the HL engine tries to make sure the mixer control settings are set properly when the game runs, but not all soundcards work the same way, especially very high-end sound cards like Audigy 2ZS pro cards.
    <FONT face="Verdana, Helvetica" size=2>To prevent the HL engine from trying to set the <SPAN class=highlighted>mic input, players need to set this CVAR in their userconfig.cfg file or in the launch properties of the game.
    <FONT face="Verdana, Helvetica" size=2>Add this line in userconfig.cfg:
    <FONT face="Verdana, Helvetica" color=#0000ff size=2>voice_forcemicrecord 0
    <FONT face="Verdana, Helvetica" size=2>or in the launch properties for each game you play:
    <FONT face=Verdana color=#0000ff size=2>+voice_forcemicrecord 0
    <FONT face="Verdana, Helvetica" size=2>(you don't need both)
    <FONT face="Verdana, Helvetica" size=2>This will prevent the engine from attempting to configure the mixer settings.
    You might also check and make sure these settings are correct:voice_enable ""sv_voiceenable ""voice_scale "0.75"voice_enable ""voice_modenable ""voice_dsound ""voice_modenable ""

    # and Overstrike styles to a 12-point, bold, italic Helvetica font.
    # All strings are case-insensitive in mapping. Font faces are likely to
    # be case-sensitive on lookup, depending on the platform and surface, so
    # care should be taken with names used on the right-hand side; but they
    # will be mapped case-insensitively.
    # See your platform documentation for a list of all supported character
    # sets, and available fonts.
    # BUGS:
    # o Should accept a RHS ratio (e.g., "Helv = Arial.2/3").

    # Support for Far Eastern Languages:

    [ PDF:Embed ]
    # This example shows how to embed Type 1 helvetica font into the PDF file:
    # helvetica = "helvetica.afm helvetica.pfa"
    # You need to specify the .afm file before the .pfa file.
    # The font files must exist in one of the folders specified in REPORTS_PATH.
    [ PDF:Subset ]
    "arial narrow" = "Arialn.ttf"
    # This example shows how to subset Arial True Type font into the PDF file:
    # helvetica = "Arial.ttf"
    # The True Type font files must exist in any one of the folders specified in
    # REPORTS_PATH.
    # Subsetting TrueType Collection fonts:
    # Typically, a TTC font contains several fonts in one file. For example,
    # the TTC file, msgothic.ttc consists of three fonts in the order -
    # MS Gothic, MS PGothic and MS UI Gothic. To subset MS PGothic, the
    # entry in the PDF:Subset section of uifont.ali would be:
    # "MS PGothic" = "msgothic.ttc,1"
    # NOTES ON PRECEDENCE OF PDF SECTIONS:
    # If you have entries for a same font in many PDF sections, then Font
    # Aliasing entry will take precedence over Font Subsetting entry. Entries
    # in Font Subsetting will take precedence over the entries in Font Embedding
    # section.
    # Generic entries for a font must follow more specific entries for the same
    # font. For instance, if you want to subset helvetica Plain, helvetica Bold,
    # helvetica Italic and helvetica Bold-Italic fonts, your entries must be:
    # [ PDF:Subset ]
    # helvetica..Italic.Bold.. = "Arialbi.ttf"
    # helvetica...Bold.. = "Arialb.ttf"
    # helvetica..Italic... = "Ariali.ttf"
    # helvetica..... = "Arial.ttf"
    # If helvetica..... entry appears in the top of the list, all the styles of
    # helvetica font in the layout will be subset as helvetica Plain font.
