Link an image field to a value selected from a list

Hello!
I'm newbie to Dreamweaver - PHP and I have a problem. I have
made a list that displays the names of all the images of my
database. Now, I want every time the user selects a value from the
list the corresponding image appears on the same page. How can I do
this?

Hi Stefan, Thanks for responding to my last mail. I am talking about the XFA(xml form architecture). Actuallly i am working on Picture form field in PDF which Adobe has newly introduced. In this type of form field , user can add an image. But i am not able to differentiate between the "Picture form field" and "push button". Disable fields based on value selected from first list box.

Hi All,
I am facing a problem in module pool programing. My scenario is there will be around 50 fields in the screen , within that first field is a drop down list box. In the list box there will be electricuty , gas and csw. If user select gas then the fields corresponding to gas will only be editable other fields not relevent to gas will be non editable(Disable).... Same case for electriciy andcsw also.
Can any one guide me regarding this....

Counting the number of values selected in a list box

I'm trying to add a counter to a form that tells the user how many values have been selected from a list box... I tried adding a FormCalc formula to a calculate event in the "counter" field as follows:
count(form1.#subform[0].ListBox1.rawValue)
But for some reason it's not adding them up. It only gives me a value of 0 when none are selected, or 1 where any number of selections are made.
Can anyone help me out?

Try putting this in the calculate event of your counter field:

Exit the list box and the field will calculate.

The 3rd list will not populate because nothing has been selected yet in list 2. The value in list 2 is null, so the loop to populate list (3) has nothing to load. Try the following below. This should seed your 2nd list so the 3rd list will populate.
You will have to declare first_record boolean and first_value to match DESCC.

Polulate textfield(s) from a MS SQL Database based on selection from DropDown List

I am new to LiveCycle Designer. I am trying to create a Master Bill of Lading form. I want the user to be able to enter a Store Number from a in a text field and, based on what they enter I want to populate the address information from a database on my SQL Server.
When I bind the address fields from the database, I only see the first record in the database.
I'm not sure where to go from here...

That seemed to fix my error and returned the value to my DDL.

it runs with no error and I am seeing the value it has given my DDL.rawValue
Now I get the "error:"

My Store Number is stored as an int in the database.
Do I have to somehow cast it as a character?

So the problem is?
All you need to do is to create the JTable first of all (which you haven't done). Secondly, you create a TableModel for it so can manage its data effectively.
Thirdly, you replace the code in your actionPerformed method to add a new row containing the data you received from the list and combo box.
Now is that so hard? Okay, here is some code

How to populate a hidden form field with a value passed from another page

I'm using PHP/MySQL and DW CS4.
I am trying to obtain the external key for a table, and include it as a hidden field in a form for a second table.
The user selects a "need" from a list and is taken to a new page which displays the need selected in the prior page and a form the user can fill out with details of his offer, there should also be a hidden field in this form that contains the index to the needs table, this hidden field holds the external key. Most of the code is working, except for populating the hidden field with the external key. I have proven(by printing it to the screen) that I have obtained the external key and stored it in a variable ($saveNeedId) . What I'm unable to do is assign this variable to the hidden field in the form I'm about to store in a table. Sometimes I get zero and sometimes I get the index to the first need in the table. This ought to be simple but I can't get it to work, I must be missing something obvious - still very new to PHP.
Here's the code that sets up the variable and prints it to the screen for test purposes

How to populate form fields by choosing a parameter from a list of values?

I have a unique field (say claim #)that is displayed at the top right of the page. Whenever I choose a value from the list of values and query the DB, all the subsequent forms(representation of one or more tables, linked by claim#) present below the search field should be populated with apt values.
The issue here is, the forms displayed in the bottom of the page represent different master tables linked by the universal identifier(claim#) for my system.
Please guide me if anyone knows a solution for this issue.

You might want to look at the Acrobat Forms Data Format (FDF) Toolkit to create an FDF file that has the webbased PDF form refereced as the form source for the FDF data. You could also look at PDFTK and PDF Hacks.
This is more of a developers issue than a simple Acrobat JavaScript issue.
If may salary were to be doubled, I would still receive the same amount.

Value of a cell dependent on a data selected from the list in another cell

Hello Everyone,
Could you please help to solve this puzzle.
I need to make a value of cells in the 2nd column dependent on the selection made in the cells in the 1st column, i.e.:
Header 1
Header 2
List An
LIst Bn
Lists A and B have 10 items each
A1    B1
A2    B2
A10 B10
If A1 is selected I need a B1 appear in the second column in the same row, if A2 selected then B2,...and so on.
Could you please hep to resolve this, if at all this is possible?

Supposing that your list is a drop down list, you could put a script like the following on the exit event of List A. (very approximate, since I don't know any of your field names)

Obviously, you'll want to replace "ListB" with the name of your field, and possibly the references to it (ie. TableName.RowName.FieldName) and fill in more case statements all the way to A10 if that's what you need. If List B is going to be a read-only field, you may even want to make it simply a text input box and have it display the values you want it to have based on the selection from List A.

Issue with Blank Value selection in Dropdown List

Hello Experts,
                    I am facing one strange issue in Adobe Forms Drop Down(DD) list. Foll. is the list data which contains a several item data & blank value. After item data selection user must be able to select blank value in case he doesn't want to set the value to Order Unit as shown in screen shot below.
                              Now my issue is after any of the item values selection (for ex. BAG - BAG) user is not able to set the blank value again at my client system. However its working fine in mine. When checked client is using Adobe Reader 8.0 which is same as mine.

               Thanks for the reply. We have a blank value in the DD as a list item, where key & description is empty space. As i posted above user must be able to select that blank item if doesn't want any value for Order Unit. This selection is working fine in my sytem, but my client facing the issue where he can not select the blank value from DD.

Read value selected in Dropdown list in user exit

Hello,
I have mulitple variable in my web interface.
The first one is a list of months that the user can change and the others are calculated by user exit.
The problem is that i need the month in the user exit.
When the user has already a variable set for him, with ZGET_VARIABLE_DETAILS, i can have this month.
My problem is when the user changes the month in the web interface.
For exemple, the user has already save the layout with 01.2006, my user exits variables will find 01.2006 and be calculated with that month. After, the user changes the month to 11.2006, the problem, is that ZGET_VARIABLEDETAIL still return 01.2006, and my user exit variable are not anymore correct. But in the interface, the header area show well 11.2006. it's confusing for the user ...
If the user saves, that will set the month variable to 11.2006 and the next refresh will be ok.
Any idea how i can find this 11.2006 ? the current value of the dropdown list ?

The flag is well to true, and my layouts are well refreshed, but on the resfresh, the user exit variable read the month variables, and then calculation are made.
But on the read of the month variable, even if the dropdown bow has changed, this is still the set value which is read.
It seems that when you change the value in the dropdown, it doesn't set the value. It's only a display, and when you save, it set the value.
The problem is that for my refresh, i need to read the new month, the "displayed" value. In the header are of my layout, it's well the new month, but i cant find it in background for my user exit variable.

When clicking on a lookup, firefor does not allow me to select from the list

When I use firefox, the website I am on has lookup fields located on it, firefox does not allow me to select my preferred option from the list. also when I slect another lookup from a list it displays the message 'invalid lookup value located in field ......'
This does not happen in IE

Start Firefox in [[Safe Mode]] to check if one of the add-ons is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Add-ons > Themes).
* Don't make any changes on the Safe mode start window.

If it does work in Safe-mode then disable all extensions and then try to find which is causing it by enabling one at a time until the problem reappears.

Selection from T-list giving error 'Fied is protected against update'

hii all,,
i have manged to make charater based search, for this
i am accepting characters 'as user types-in' in a text item 'vchar' .
As the user types in characters,the t-list item (vlist) gets populated with the matching characters
typed by the user .
i am testing it on on a non-db block (jmaster) fields..
Once i make any selection from the tlist,i want the field 'vchar' to hold the value/label selected from the
t-list (vlist).
the problem is when i click enter and make selection from the t-list
populated elements, and navigate to next field 'tcode'
'vchar' remains blank and the error... 'Fied is protected against update' gets displayed on the status bar.

ARQ: Manager Id manual selection from the list???

Hi,
I had discussed in my other thread here that, in some of the cases, a user may not have manager id for some reason either in HR or AD. For such users, the option is to select manager id manually from the list by pressing F4.
The problem is that, as soon as a manager id is searched, this will display "all" the users available in GRC system: requester, manager, role owner, other dialog users and even background users!
This causes the requester to select incorrect manager id and exposes all the irrelevant users from GRC system.
May I know how I can control this? Or do we have any other way to handle this?
As I know, there are following options:
1. Maintain users' details properly either in AD or SAP HR systems
2.In case of non-availability of manager id, route request to appropriate team/person who can take proper decision (which I have done currently)
Does any also suggest/endorse an idea to modify the default search ability of ARQ?
I would appreciate if we can have ideas/suggestions on this.

I would share on thing and that is, for contractors (for example) some how manager details are not maintained in LDAP (as in SAP HR only permanent employees' HR data is maintained).
I could not get the first 3 lines of next paragraph and I think this is not the issue
Basically you can say who ever is a manager can also be a manager from someone else. But it is possible that someone who is not yet a manager can be a new manager and has to be defined as manager in ARQ.
The issue that, for some type of employees (contractors), manager details are not maintained neither in LDAP nor in SAP HR system. Therefore, in such cases, manager field is empty. But let me tell you there are managers for even contractors, but not maintained in LDAP due to the maintenance responsibility and gathering this information from different department is assumed to be a big and painful task.
But these managers (for contractors) are definitely available in GRC system as approvers. Therefore, for users (contractors) whose manager is not maintained, manually it is to be selected from the search option. If we start searching for a "suitable" manager, then it displays all the users available in GRC system (because they are created in SU01).
Also, we might face similar problem at the time of forwarding a request! Actually, a manager should only see the list of other managers, not all users!
Similarly, a role owner will intend to forward his responsibility to another role owner only!
Therefore, we should only see the relevant users from the search, but not all!
Please share your valuable inputs.
