Link color issue

Hi
I've set the color for linked texts on "page properties"
which is fine. However, on one page the linked text color and
background color are the same and I cannot see the linked text! Is
it possible to override the command on these occasions (keeping the
general command intact) and how?
Thanks
Mike

It's only fine if you want one link style throughout your
site - which is
rare.
For multiple link styles, you use CSS (Cascading Style
Sheets).
Follow this tutorial carefully:

• Tutorial : fix link color issue under linux

Dear all,
Problem
I use a dark theme and the linls in skype interface are unreadable.
I opened topic about this a long time ago, but unfortunately no one could help me. This topic is now archived and read-only, so the purpose of this message is to bring the solution to the people encoutering the same issue.
http://community.skype.com/t5/Linux-archive/Change-the-link-color-in-skype/m-p/3522561/highlight/tru...
Context
I'm using :
- debian jessie amd64 (up to date)
- KDE (up to date) with a dark theme (for example obsidian coast)
- the current version of skype (4.3.0.37), installed according to https://wiki.debian.org/fr/skype
1) Remove the package kde-config-gtk-style if it is installed :
aptitude purge kde-config-gtk-style
Indeed, this create ~/.kde4 and if this directory exists (even if it is empty!!), you'll get the dark blue link.
2) Also remove or rename this directory if it exists (~ = for example /home/toto).
mv ~/.kde4 ~/.kde4.old
3) Edit ~/.kde/share/config/kdeglobals with your favorite text editor. In the [Colors:View} section, fix ForegroundLink value as follows :
[Colors:View]
ForegroundLink=156,212,25
Note : you could also fix the other ForegroundLink values using sed if you want, but this is the only value used by skype.
4) Run skype, link should be now ok. If not, check whether Skype > Options > General > Choose style, you shoud select Desktop settings and re-run skype. If it doesn't work, try to rename ~/.Skype into ~/.Skype.old (to run skype with the default profile) and re-run skype.

Hello ledamonza and welcome to the BlackBerry Support Community Forums.
Sorry to hear you are having an issue with BlackBerry Link.
To clarify, when you go to launch Link, you are getting an error? If so, can you please provide that error as it appears?

• [Locked] Link colors work in Firefox but not Internet Explorer

http://zenfotoz.com
I have changed the link colors by setting a CSS class to a non default color a:link to the div containing thumbnails. The site behaves as designed in Firefox, but uses default colors in Internet Explorer and no colors in Safari for windows.
Is this a known bug/issue with a workaround or am I just doing this incorrectly?
Thanks,
Erik

You have replied to a message that's more than a year old. If you're having problems with your links, post a URL to your site, and someone can have a look to see what the problem is.

• Change visited link color in Safari 5.1.3

Visited link colors in Safari, most notably visited Google links when I return to the search page, don't change colors as they used to do... Actually, I think it's been that way for a long time (years) now but I am just now coming back around to being interested in why and if there is a way to get back to the days where new links were BLUE and visited links were GREEN (or whatever color you wanted)...
Is this still possible with the new Safari and if so, how do you go about setting this visted link color preference???
thanks... bob...

This appears to be an issue affecting most versions of Safari from about version 5 onwards.
I recently experienced it with Safari version 5.0.6 and eventually found a fix adequate for my purposes.
1 - Sometimes simply selecting 'Private Browsing' (on Safari menu) and then deselecting it cures the problem.
2 - If that does not work I use the following Terminal command which has, so far, worked every time:
defaults write com.apple.Safari RegisteredSafariSyncClient -bool false
I must point out that I do not intend to use any sync services but it appears that if Safari gets confused it is necessary to use this command to reset its sync services.
3 - If you don't like using the Terminal command you could trash the following preference file although this more brutal approach is more likely to lose data:
~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Safari.plist
Quit from Safari before attempting 2 or 3.
I have only tested the Terminal command on Safari 5.0.6 on a Leopard G4 without any user defined sync services but it will probably work on other versions and OSs. It is always safest to backup first.

• Firefox color issues

So I have secondary headers lined up in the template I created...the text colors appear perfectly fine in IE but when I preview in Firefox I get an entirely different color. Colors are supposed to be #FF9999 and #A23E3E. In Firefox they look blue-ish purply..I've checked the CSS and it look normal. I've even tried changing the default text color in my properties panel for the entire website. No change. Any ideas!?

here's the code for the page that's having issues...the issues also occur on any other page I use the colors on.

• Visited Links - Override all link colors

Hi,
I'm using RH8 in WebHelp and IE. I read all the former postings regarding people having the same problem and some mentioned a fix in a .css but the .css wasn't available with the posting of March 25, 2008.
My visited link color seems to override all other link colors. Originally I had the link colors in a style sheet and changed the colors in the .css. That didn't work and all colors still were the visited link color. I deleted the link colors from this .css and added the link colors via the RoboHelp Edit Styles. Either way doesn't seem to work and all link colors are my visited color. I've tried clearing my cache several times and this doesn't work, neither does deleting the history.
Can anyone shed some light on this? Thanks very much for any help you can provide.

Hi Leon,
Here is all the code with "a" type styles in the .css. Again, I also have the links also in the mini-TOC but didn't see a way via the Format Placeholder to change
this. Currently, most of my links are showing up as the "visited" color -- grey. I'm going to revisit this link issue again very soon but have to get a ton of content in now. I really appreciate your efforts.
Thanks,
Sue

• Despite best efforts, cannot modify link colors in iWeb

I am having issues with changing the colors of my hyperlinks in iWeb. Specifically, I having this problem while working with the "Welcome" page in the "Modern" style template.
After searching through this forum, I followed advice to check out http://www.rowan-cottage.co.uk/Site/CSS%20in%20iWeb.html for tips on modifying the CSS and changing the hyperlink colors. While I was able to edit the .css file and change the unfollowed link colors to blue as planned, the followed link colors unexpectly changed to a strange purple color. Hovering was the same purple, but clicking the link and not releasing the mouse resulted in the link turning red (the default color) even after I had edited the .css file so that hover and followed links were to also be the same blue.
I reloaded the page several times, I reset Safari, I looked at the page with Opera, Firefox, and IE, and it looked the same way in all browsers.
Does anyone know what is going on here? Is there some sort of communication going on behind the scene that I am not seeing (such as, if unfollowed link = blue, then followed link = purple)? Do I need to edit the XML file? How?
Advice appreciated! Thanks!

Okay, that was yesterday.
Today the problem is not repeating.
I have no idea what happened, but I as long as the problem is presently gone, I'm happy.

• Why does the visited link color change not work on some pages. this has only occurred in the past few weeks. 2 different computers Win 7 home pm Firefox 29

On some sites the visited link color does not change. I have checked all settings and they have not changed. I can make the problem change by unchecking the "allow pages to choose thier own colors" box , but the some pages do not display correctly. Things worked fine up to a few weeks ago. I feel it may be a glitch in firefox 29.
Windows 7 home premium SP 1
Firefox 29

Can you try to start Firefox in Safe Mode to see if Firefox works properly with no error? You can start Firefox in Safe Mode below:
*'''Windows/Mac''': Go to Help > Restart with add-ons disabled
*'''Linux''': Run ''firefox -safe-mode'' in the Terminal/Konsole
If Firefox opens up fine with no problems, it's probably one of your extensions that's causing the issue. You can re-enable your add-ons one by one until you find the one that causes the issue upon being re-enabled.
You can try these steps in case of issues with web pages:
You can reload web page(s) and bypass the cache to refresh possibly outdated or corrupted files.
*Hold down the Shift key and left-click the Reload button
*Press "Ctrl + F5" or press "Ctrl + Shift + R" (Windows,Linux)
*Press "Command + Shift + R" (Mac)
Clear the cache and cookies only from websites that cause problems.
"Clear the Cache":
*[[Image:new fx menu]] > Options/Preferences> Advanced > Network > Cached Web Content: "Clear Now"
"Remove Cookies" from sites causing problems:
*[[Image:new fx menu]] > Options/Preferences > Privacy > "Use custom settings for history" > Cookies: "Show Cookies"

• AGAIN COLOR ISSUE - IMPORT RENDERING

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Hello to hear again of me, I post again the import color issue because I'm looking for a clear answer and I don't want to philosophize about color management and studying books about that. I wonder why the color management on my MacBook Pro was perfectly running before, and then suddenly it changed. Before I had great and accurate color in PS and LR, everything was identical and then suddenly LR adds this this strange color correction over every image. How is that possible!? I made another test, I tried to save one image in different ways, like tif, jpg and psd and I converted the image as well to different color profiles before saving. Sometimes they appear in the import menu in the correct colors, some time LR changes them, but in the library it adds to all files the strange color correction. I want to highlight again, that it was before okay and then without a specific reason it changed. I have LR installed also on a Mac Pro, where it still runs as it used to run, we will see for how long. I'm really a bit upset! It is not possoble anymore to judge the images right, even now I have to switch to my previous viewer application to show shootings to my clients. Creating webgaleries with LR also became useless now, because of false colors. Also there is no possibility to set the color mangement in LR to your workflow.
In this spirit hoping for a solution!

Good for you Franky66, Glad you got it sorted.
Happy New Year!

• IPhone 5s screen color issues

Got a 5s, love, however I was wondering, the color white seems "yellowish". I was able to get one (AT&T) through Best Buy, and ordered one through Apple. Both phones seems to have the white color issue. I went to the Apple store and compared the screens, my phone seems "yellowish", even confirmed by the Apple employee. Anyone else having issues?

Thank you for your help, Shipping cost is a issue. I will contact the apple soon

• Spry Menu Bar link colors not consistent

I have a horizontal Spry menu bar set up with 4 items in it.
The first item is the Home link and does not have a submenu, but
the other 3 items do. What I want is when you roll over the main 4
items the text link color will be purple (#583399). When an item
has a submenu the rollover text link on the submenu links will be
green (#89b11a).
My current code almost works, but the problem I am having is
that the Home link
without the submenu changes to a green color instead of
purple like the other 3 main links. If I add a test submenu to the
Home link then it turns purple like the other links. How can I get
the Home link to change to purple like the others without having a
submenu attached to it?

• How to have 2 link colors on one page?

Learning CSS and am unable to make this happen. What am I doing wrong?
http://larrysullivandesign.com/sourceprintmedia.com/_contact.html
http://larrysullivandesign.com/sourceprintmedia.com/sourceprintmedia.css
The text links at page bottom (link-typeA) load up blue, even though the stylesheet calls for them to be gray (#E8E8E8), so they'll read on dark background.
I want blue links site-wide, and grey at page bottom, only for link-typeA
I want only one style sheet, if possible.
How do I make all the link stage (active, hover, etc) colors apply to just link-typeA ? Only way I can see is in Page Properties, which makes one single embedded style on each page. confused....
thanks!

The divs are always referenced in the body and then you assign a class to that div. You can also asign a class to a table if you are using tables.
First make a refernce to an external style sheet and place all your css in there.
make your page and then assign the classes to the divs or tables.
If you think of a div as a container then you assign a class of (footer) to the container. The reference then looks to the external style sheet of where to find that class and then finds the .footer and assigns the correct attributes to it such as the .footer a:link{color:#000;}
you can also see the styles and assign them without handcoding by going to window/CSS styles

• Camera Raw 8.7.1 color issues

After the recent camera raw update to 8.7.1 I have noticed some pretty bad color shifts between camera raw and photoshop cs6. The colors in camera raw look very saturated and then when moving into photoshop the saturation shift is pretty dramatic. I never had these issues before the update. I have attached a screenshot illustrating the color issue. I am working on a very good monitor ( NEC PA 242W ) and it is color calibrated using NEC Spectraview calibration system. I have double checked my color setting in photoshop and camera raw to make sure I was viewing the same color space. I am just wondering if this is maybe a bug in the update and others are experiencing the same issues or if I am just missing something.
I would also add that I am using the Creative Suite CS6 and not CC. If that makes a difference.

Thanks ssprengel for the suggestions and running a side by side yourself. I went through all my settings and applied your suggestions and did a side by side each time. I even uninstalled the entire creative suite on my system then reinstalled and updated and I still get the same outcome. It was fine yesterday with the previous version of ACR. It seems like the updated version is not showing the image preview in any color space. When I switch the color space in the workflow options the histogram changes but it doesn't seem to affect the preview window. And yes the preview button was checked on it was just when I was using the screen grab tool in windows it took focus away from the application so that is why the settings appear grayed out. I have attached more screen grabs below illustrating all my settings. Also here is some system info if anyone out there has a similar setup and would be willing to test.

• Photoshop CC Color Issues

When I updated my Photoshop program two updates ago I began having color issues in Photoshop as the rest of the Adobe Suite. Regardless of whether the color mode is RGB or CMYK the colors appear washed out on the program. This image http://i.imgur.com/BWVwbx2.jpg is an example. The image on the right is a screen shot of the original image of the shoes copied from the website, the image on the left is the same image copied into photoshop. When I try to save the RGB file as a jpeg or a PDF it looks the same as it did in the program, washed out. However, when the file is CMYK color mode and I try to save it as a jpeg or PDF it looks like this http://i.imgur.com/TAUyeOf.jpg. Both my coworker and I started having this issue on our seperate computers around the same time so I don't believe that it is a graphics card issue or something along those lines. How can I fix this? I have tried calling Adobe support, but unfortunately the person on the phone was not very experienced in the program and unable to help.
Some Info about my computer:
Currently I have Photoshop CC with the 14.2.1 update. I have Windows 7 Professional SP1, 64-bit OS, 8 GB of RAM (7.87 GB Usable) and 360 GB free space on the (C:) drive.

Illustrator and Windows Photo Viewer agree. They should, because they're both fully color managed. I assume Photoshop shows the same.
Picasa is not color managed. All bets are off there, it can display like anything under the sun, depending on what color space the file was created in, and how your monitor displays color.
There is a basic checklist for color management issues:
1 - is the application color managed at all?
2 - is there an embedded document profile, and what is it?
3 - what is the monitor profile?
We've established #1. For #2, see in the lower left corner of the Photoshop image window. Click the little arrow and check "document profile". What does it say?
#3 is often the critical one. This is where your calibrated monitor profile should be - but if you don't do that, it's often a manufacturer supplied profile. These are often worse than worthless. The best option here is to use sRGB if you have a standard gamut monitor (like the U2412) - or Adobe RGB if you have a wide gamut monitor (like your co-worker's U3011). Yes, there is a significant difference between these two.
Anyway:
Go to Control Panel > Color Management > Devices. Set sRGB IEC61966-2.1 as your default monitor profile there and relaunch Photoshop:
With this setting, Photoshop, Illustrator and Windows Photo Viewer will display (more or less) correctly. It could still be that the file had the wrong document profile, or none at all, but the file will display correctly as it is.
