Attempting to create 2nd instance and links for Ingres to Oracle conversion

I have an oracle instance called ORCL that was set up with a DB link to the Ingres Database and it works. I want to create
a second instance using the same binaries so that I don't clobber a developer. Using DBCA I created CONVERT.
Here's were my memory is faulty as to how the first instance was set up. I create a db link, and also entries in the
ORACLE_HOME\hs directory for the init.ora I have one listener running at it lists both instances in the sid_list ...
then when I try to query the ingres database I get
ORA-28500: connection from ORACLE to a non-Oracle system returned this message: [Microsoft][ODBC Driver Manager] Data Source name not found and no default driver specified.
ORA -02063: preceeding 2 lines from SDFA_INGRES
My oracle Database is on Windows. This is Oracle 11
ORACLE_HOME is F:\apps\oracle\product\11.1.0\db_1\ for both ORCL and CONVERT
db_2 is set up for the 2nd instance for only the redo logs and control files...
db_1\hs has two init files ... one for ORCL and CONVERT

Create public database link "SDFA_INGRES" connect to "DBA" identified by "*****"
using "SDFA_ODBC";
My select is from the CONVERT instance as SYS ...

and then I get the above error.
What am I missing or have wrong ? Can I have 2 HS services defined in one listener or do a need seperate listeners ?

That's was it !!!! I had forgotten that we needed to do this ...
I still have one little ouch though....
When I bring up the driver to define it..... on the DataSource Panel, it asks for a VNODE. It gives me 2 drop down
items which are neither of the systems I want. I can't seem to over write this value ...
Any idea of how to get my system in the VNODE field ? I can ping the box that I want to get to from the system.
I have the IP address .. where does this get set ? Every thing else seems to be good.

Need link for official oracle clusterware & RAC installaiton on sol10 SPARC

I have been trying out all types of possible combination of installations for oracle clusterware and RAC on solaris 10 SPARC system. But as every document is not exact in all the steps so i have not succeeded at all.
It would be nice if anyone can give me the link for ORACLE CLUSTERWARE AND RAC INSTALLATION ON SOLARIS 10 SPARC. It would be nice if the document covers almost all the steps.
setup : sun fire 445 (2 No)
RAW disk Setup for storage.
OS: solaris 10 11/08
oracle: oracle 10.2.0.1 for DB and clusterware.
Please help me out. Its urgent.

I have been using the same document b14205. But the steps for the oracle clusterware OUI installations are not at all specified in. in 4 steps it has completed the whole OUI setup. where as i ran into so many issues that i had to look into google to find the soultion... and doc which is more presise with the steps.. well thanks for the other document... its given a new dimention to my efforts

Hello Oracle Experts,
Am working for a customer to set up Oracle RAC architecture hosting SAP/Non-SAP applications per SLA levels(MC/BC/Standard) specs. Currently my network team needs calculation to arrive at whether we will go for a (1), (2) or (3) 10Gig links for inter DC (Data-Center) for Oracle RAC.. below is additional background:
•     Porting all client SAP/Non-SAP Oracle databases to new 2 data-centers.
•     There will be 10 blades (4x BL680s and 6x BL460s) in each DC (can scale-up/out later on).
•     Clusters architecture to support Extended/Stretched RAC cluster feature
•     Clusters 2-node each(1-datacenter1, 1-datacenter2) and nodes distributed across 2 x c7000 such that no cluster has more than one node in an enclosure.
•     Each node will have - 4 NIC ports ( 2 x public and 2 x private) , 2 dual-port HBA
•     Oracle ASM/ACFS (ASM Cluster File System), Voting Disk, OCR and Database files
•     the versions are Oracle 11g RAC, Oracle 10g RAC and Oracle 9i (for DataGuard/Standby) on RHEL 6 on Proliant Blades (x86) + BladeMatrix
My network colleagues considering using DWDM across the 2 DCs(given the lesser cost?). Am still looking around if there are any Oracle/industry-best practices around this and having a calculation to support that..

There are no specific set of steps / practices for batch loading contents to ucm . It would be very much dependent on how many contents does the user have to load to UCM and how well the server is configured in terms of performance .

In short, NO.
I was hoping that the 7.4.1 update would allow it to work, but it has caused more problems than it is worth.If you do actually get it to work you will see the TC in finder (under Shared) when connected to the internet outside of your home network. What I have found though is that the 7.4.1 firmware update has made using the internet at home almost impossible.
I have tried Hamachi but it is not reliable.
I have settled with Dropbox so my files are synced between my home machine and laptop.
