Link in Documaker

Hi,
I need to know how can i inset a link in a textarea?
Eg:
please visit the webiste www.google.com for more information.
the above lline is in a textarea and the www.google.com should be a link, so that when the user clicks on it, the website should open. the o/p is a pdf file.

You don't have to do anything special in Studio, Acrobat Reader does the conversion. Look for the option "Create links from URLs" in Acrobat general preferences. If the option is selected, Acrobat Reader will automatically scan the PDF to convert anything that looks like an internet address, meaning that it starts with www. to a link. It will also convert anything that looks like an email address to a mailto: link.

Documaker 12.1.1 Released

Oracle Documaker 12.1.1 (12.1 Patch 01) was released in late December.
Goto the Oracle Software Delivery Cloud (https://edelivery.oracle.com) and search for Insurance products.
Or goto the Oracle Support site, login, select Patches & Updates, select Product or Family (Advanced), in the Product list type or select Oracle Documaker, in the Release drop down select 12.1, in the Platform drop down select your operating system, click Search, and it will list the patch for the various products (Transall, Docupresentment, Standard Edition, etc. depending on your O.S.
The documentation including Release Notes and Readmes for all products are on OTN at http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/documentation/insurance-097481.html#Documaker. For this release the readmes (which list all BugDB and other fixes) are located on OTN under the link above at http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E22582_01/e22582_01_index.html. The OTN site lists 12.1, the readmes were updated for 12.1.1. Any guide updated for 12.1.1 will list a release date of December 2012 on the cover page; not all guides contain changes from 12.1.0.

Yes, it should work on Solaris. AIX and HP Unix have some special requirements (must use a Motif based environment context, e.g. a desktop environment, hosted in an X11 server referenced via the DISPLAY environment variable) but I don't think that is required on Solaris.

Documaker : how to send Email for test

I can created the HTML file, but I can not figure out how to send mail for test.

NLS_LANG Documaker Studio Setup

Hi,
I'm trying to configure a ODBC connection link with my DMStudio Project. the fact is that Windows ODBC connection with the Instant Cliente 11.2 is working and connecting when is set up on Windows ODBC manager. Connection is succesfull. But, when I'm going to start a new project with this same ODBC DMStudio dosen't connect. An error message is shown saying "Internal error - unable to initialize NLS during driver load". I've saw some post about initiating the NLS_LANG enviroment variable but hasen't worked.
Some facts of the enviroment:
To make this connection I have to go through a VPN connection.
ODBC was tested as System and User ODBC and had same results.

Here's something you can try that might allow you to create workspaces using the Oracle ODBC connection.
- Make sure you have a valid NLS_LANG environment setting (e.g. NLS_LANG=AMERICAN_AMERICA.WE8MSWIN1252)
- Copy the \nls\data subdirectory from the Documaker executable directory to your Oracle client directory (for example, C:\Program Files\Oracle\instantclient_11_2\nls\data or c:\Oracle\instantclient_11_2\nls\data).
Having a valid NLS_LANG environment and the Oracle NLS data files beneath the ORACLE_HOME directory will allow the Oracle NLS DLLs to initialize properly and should avoid causing problems for the Oracle ODBC connection.

Documaker Server - System requirements

Hi,
I would like to know the hardware requirements to install Documaker Server. I checked the Documaker Installation guide but it just says Documaker Desktop requirements (Windows, 2GB RAM, 150 GB HDD, Intel Core 2 2.13GHz). Is it the same for Production also? We are implementing Documaker in Production for the first time. So, any help regarding the set up would be helpful.

Hi there,
I believe you are referring to Documaker Studio 12.x Standard edition installation. As per the Install guide in Oracle's link, Documaker Studio or Documaker Desktop has the same System requirements.
But for a Production setup, you may have to be cautious with the Windows OS version (please refer through the Install guide with Windows Server edition OS requirments - Minimum Sandbox platform). Decision on the RAM and Hard disk capacity will have to be made specific to the proposed MAX load that your application might get in production. I would reccommend you to go for a much better configuration for a Production box (similar to Minimum Sandbox platform) like:
Windows Server edition OS,
4GB or 8GB RAM Memory, and
Much robust Server Processor rather than an Intel Core.
In addition to that:
Be sure to have the latest service packs installed.
Windows Server edition OS are available both 32 and 64-bit versions. I have never faced any issues with 12.x on 32 bit OS versions so far.
The configuration cited by you would be more appropriate for a development environment. Kindly let me know if you need more information.

QR Codes in Documaker

Anyone know if Documaker supports producing QR barcodes? You know, those barcodes that smartphones can read to link directly to a website (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/QR_Code). Let me know if anyone is aware of Documaker supporting this. We're running Version 11.4.

QR Code support is on the roadmap for Documaker, hopefully either in the 12.1 or 12.2 version. Personally I'll be excited to see them put to use - it's fantastic tech.

Download error in (osx) adobe desktop app (corrupted download link).

Here is a discription of the problem. Please consider that some of the wording might not be correct, as I do have to translate the error message from German into English.
Using OSX 10.9.2, when clicking inside the adobe desktop app (top of the screen bar) on the tap "apps", the following screen (screenshot) appears, which states, translated from top to bottom:

(link/button) download creative cloud -> This button unfortunatly leads to the following error page "http://www.adobe.com/special/errorpages/404.html"
All apps, like Bridge, Photoshop, Lightroom, etc. are installed and work just fine. So no problem here. I seem however unable to redownload the desktop app (in order to reinstall). As stated above the provided link inside the desktop app itself is coruppted and within the (online) web-based download centre (user logged in) I am only adviced to use the desktop app. This is a dead end and I do not know what to make of this error, let alone solving it. Please help!

I am sorry Romsinha but this doesn't really help.
I already restarted the desktop app and while I am obviously online and connected the problem (error message) remains the same. Information within the "home" tap is recieved/loaded (little blue spinning wheel) stating that various apps recently have been updated. Yet the same loading wheel within the "apps" tap results in an error. My best guess is that some internal link within the app is corrupted, leading to a source on a server that can not be reached.
UPDATE
I clean uninstalled adobe creative cloud as discribed in the article you provided (using the cleaner tool) and even uninstalled the browser plugin. After downloading and reinstalling creative cloud the problem however remains the same. "Apps" tap still shows the same problem. "Home" tap now displays the following:

Links not getting displayed in the contextual panel

I have created a contextual panel inside a transparent container. And created a method in the same view supply_values of type supply function to supply the values to the panel.Inside the method I have coded like:
DATA TAB TYPE WD_THIS->ELEMENTS_N_VIEW_SWITCH.
DATA LINE TYPE WD_THIS->ELEMENT_N_VIEW_SWITCH.
LINE-TEXT = 'User Manual'. "#EC NOTEXT
LINE-ENABLED = ABAP_TRUE.
APPEND LINE TO TAB.
LINE-TEXT = 'Logout'. "#EC NOTEXT
LINE-ENABLED = ABAP_TRUE.
APPEND LINE TO TAB.
NODE->BIND_TABLE( TAB ).
Also in the context of the view I have created a node and supplied the method 'supply_values' in the supply function.Under the node I have 2 attributes named text and enabled. Text is of string type and enabled is of boolean type. In the properties of the contextual panel I have bound the visible property with the enabled attribute.
Now when I am running this application , links are not getting displayed in the contextual panel. Though when I debug TAB contains the values. Please suggest if I have missed out something or I need to look into the properties of the contextual panel. Any pointers will be really helpful.

Links default to wrong folder

Why is it when I go to relink a placed image in the Links pallette it always directs me to the wrong folder (not the one the image lives in but elsewhere). I believe that it is taken me to the last folder I navigated to. thoughts?

You now have a prefernce for where relink goes, the last folder you used to link, or the folder where the original link resides. It's in the prefs.
